AppleScript - Open store link within App Store.app

I want to open a link to the US Mac App Store within App Store.app
https://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/switchToStoreFront?storeFront Id=143441
I tried a tell block with App Store.app to open location, to open URL, with https and itms schemes and all these also from within a tell block with System Events, to no avail.
Any ideas?

I checked the JavaScript as you suggested and noticed the url scheme in use — actually, I forgot that
Just change http/https with macappstore/macappstores, respectively.
The following script opens the Xcode app page in the US Store.
tell application "System Events" to open location
"macappstores://itunes.apple.com/us/app/xcode/id497799835?mt=12"
macappstore://showUpdatesPage checks for updates.
However,
macappstores://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/switchToStoreFront?sto reFrontId=143441
doesn't switch to the US Store. I only see the spinning wheel in App Store app.
I'll appreciate any hints to make it work.

  • Why is my iPad opening website links using the Google App not Safari?

Why is my iPad opening website links using the Google App not Safari? Everything was fine until two days ago when it started opening them with Google App. I tried uninstalling Google but nothing has changed. It would not bother me at all but it takes Google a lifetime to open them where as Safari used to do it in a matter of seconds. I own an iPad Air, iOS 7.1.2.

How is it opening a website with the Google App if you uninstalled it?
Are you sure its the Google App, and not simply Safari opening in a Google search?
    What exactly is happening?
Basically there is no way to change the default browser for opening links.
However, some apps like The Gmail App will open links within themselves or Chrome if it is installed and the option is enabled in the Gmail App settings.

  • Can't open any links within my emails. The display reads, "Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (blockedhttp) isn't associated with any program." How can I fix this?

Can't open any links within the emails using Firefox. I can open them in other browsers however. The message reads, "Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (blockedhttp) isn't associated with any program.". How can I fix this?

Looks like blocking software to purposely block a page by messing with the url.

  • How do you open a link within a PDF in a new window?

I created a PDF that will be viewed in a browser. Is there a way to set the links within the PDF to open in a new window?

Did you get an answer to this?   I am having the exact same issue.  My source html document has a link which specifies a target of _blank, but when I generate a pdf from that html doc, view the PDF in my browswer, and click the link, it overlays the PDF instead of opening a new window with the linked URL.  I've seen this posted as an issue a number of times, but have yet to see a solution.

  • Opening a link within iframe

I have an apex page which generates a map link (e.g. http://maps.google.com?q=WC1A 2HR).
In the report option, I have specified that as a link and displaying the column value with an icon.
So far, when user clicked on the icon, it opened the link specified without any problem.
Now suddenly I see that the link is not opening at all. But it works if the apex page is not within an iframe!
I have not got a clue what went wrong. If I can't fix it, is there any way to open the link in a new tab/window?
    Thanx

  • I am running 3.6.12 and my new tab and/or window actions are the same. How can i open new links within apps into new tabs?

I used to be able to control new tab actions such as opening on top of current tab or in a new tab. This is frustrating as i always cover up where I am or was! How can this be corrected so I can open a new tab in a new tab? I am enrolled in an on-line class and can not open tabs in a new tab as needed as it always places the new tab on top of teh current or old tab.
Funny as i use to complain about opening in new windows!
I am missing how to control new tabs and new window actions?
    THanks,
    William

Do you have any tab related extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) that allow to divert links?<br />

External links are links which goes outside your web container root.
Imagine you're sitting in http://example.com/webapp/page.jsf, then the webroot is http://example.com/webapp.
If you specify a link without a protocol (http, https, ftp, file, etc), then the client will always assume that you're linking to a resource in your web container. So when page.jsf links to a resource called "www.google.com", without the protocol, then the client will assume that you're referring to http://example.com/webapp/www.google.com. If you prefix it with a valid protocol, e.g. "http://www.google.com", then the client will assume that you're referring to http://www.google.com.
After all .. In your case this is not applicable. You're using commandlinks instead of outputlinks. Why are you asking this? Which problems are you occurring? Do you want to submit to an external URL or so?

When form is opened using Adobe Reader, links do not work.  However, if opened using Acrobat XI Pro, the links work fine.

  • Open Android Market and Apple App Store from AIR Mobile App

I have two versions of my app, one is free and one is paid. I want to show links to paid version in the free version of the application. I want to open the link to the paid app directly in the  market or app store. How can I do that?

Here is what I had used on a lite version of one of my apps, when you click that it opens the native app store app and links right to the app you want to sell to the users.
    function fl_getFullVersion(event:MouseEvent):void
        navigateToURL(new URLRequest("http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/pop-goes-the-bubble/id452505669?mt=8"), "_blank");
So swap your app name and id and thats your link for itunes.

    Hi,
I have this problem as well.
I posted a question here few days before you and still haven't got an answer for it.
My assumption is this issue started at the last SDK update. I don't see it if I work with flex 3.5.
Hope someone will give full answer to it soon... I am stock with my project because of it.

  • I get the following message when attempting to open some links. I don't know how to interpret this nor correct it. Please help. "A copy of Firefox is already open. Only one copy of Firefox can be open at a time."

I see some threads (when I google this question) — but do not understand how to correct it. I have a MB Pro, OS X 10.7.1, not a developer — online all day every day managing a small business. Specifically I receive the message more often when attempting to open a link within a tweet (photo, website, other).

Most people are going to see that message as a result of not properly closing Firefox, and then attempting to reopen Firefox. This problem is most likely to occur on Windows Operating systems, less frequently on Linux and Mac systems but not unheard of on any system.
Because you are on a Mac, I am referring you directly to an article that has been reworded for each operating system.
To properly close Firefox on your Mac use "Firefox" button -> Quit Firefox, and not with the "X" in corner of window which simply closes the window and not necessarily Firefox.
When you get stuck as you have described you must Force Firefox to terminate as described at the end of the article:
    Mac OS X
:Open Apple Menu and select "Force Quit". For Mac OS X 10.3 and later, you can also use the Activity Monitor found in your "Utilities" folder (Applications -> Utilities -> Activity Monitor).
<br><small>Please mark "Solved" one answer that will best help others with a similar problem -- hope this was it.</small>

    Thanks

You can middle-click a link or the Go button on the location bar to open the link in a new tab.<br />
You can also use Alt + Enter to open a link in the location bar in a new tab.

Can no longer go from Outlook to the web directly.
    1. browers links copied directly into the body of an email will not open
    2. links within adverts will not connect.
I can only access the web directly through the browser icon.

  • IBooks Author: Open store links without leaving app?

I am trying to link from within a book (created in iBooks Author) without leaving the iBooks app.
I can add the iTunes link, but it opens the iTunes app.
I want it to stay within the iBooks app.
There are other ebooks, including ones created in iBooks Author, that load the mini iTunes store pop-up panel when, and stay within the book that it open. Like in the Led Zeppelin Sound and Fury ibook.
    Help would be much appreciated!
    Thanks!

If  are sure your machine is within the conditions set by Apple, have you tried opening the Applications folder
A- to see if the app is actually installed and  B- clicking the  iBA app to open it?
If the iBA app is showing in your app folder and does not open, I would suggest contact  support for either Mac or iBA or both for advice.
