Applet is not opening in jsp

Hi,
I am using an applet in my application, which creates charts. But its not opening, its giving exceptions.
I create jar using jar cvf command.
After that i aslo sign and verify this jar using jar signer.
My jsp and this jar file are in the same directory.
This is the code which is in my jsp for applet.

Look at this part of the stack trace:
Caused by: java.io.IOException: open HTTP connection failed. It looks like you can't connect to the server.
Rather than looking at the JSP source, look at the HTML source that your browser is dealing with. My guess is that HTML is wrong, with values that point to a server that doesn't exist, or something. Are you sure you're running this page on an environment that can deal with JSPs? Are you sure that's a valid JSP? Maybe that "strAppServerIPAddress" value isn't expanding.

  • Help with applet page not opening please

Hi I hope somebody can help. I downloaded the Java Plug in 1.4.2_05 but the applet for my offshore bank account applet will not open - just a blank grey page appears.
I went to the test applet page and the following note came up. "You are using an older version of Java Technology 1.1.4"
I can see the dancing Duke logo.
I followed the instructions to download the latest version again and up pops a window saying that we have the latest version. I went through the FAQ page - also checked all the setting were correct. I have the coffee cup Logo. I can see the plugin control panel, also the Java website control panel. The draw4 and note pad applications open up.
I need to know why the banking applet will not load.
We are running Windows Explorer 6
    Thanks
    Michele

    Hi there,
Your IE is using hte Microsoft IE JVM plugin, you'll need to install Sun's plugin for IE. Installing the JDK/JRE fresh usually gives you an option of what browsers to install the plugin to.
    Hope that helps!

  • Java applet windows not opening in website

User is running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit with IE10. She connects to a secure government website and logs into it. Once logged in, she clicks a link which opens a small popup IE window. A short time later, a couple of other small popup windows are supposed to
open which are not IE windows but apparently java windows as the icon on the taskbar is the java icon and not the IE icon as for the main window and the first popup window. One of the java popup windows has links to click on to view various reports.
This user was having no problem performing the above. Then her PC had Office 2013 installed and she says some other updates though she has no idea what (I know IE was not updated). Since then, the java popup windows do not open, only the first IE popup window
    opens.
She can go to other Windows 7 Pro computers with IE10 and has no problem with the site and the popup windows. She can also use an XP system with IE8 and has no problem.
I have disabled the popup blocker (though I was sure that wasn't the problem), installed JRE6u45 since she already had JRE7u45. I've tried to match her security and advanced settings to another PC. I've done a complete IE reset. None of these things have
    worked.
I've never run into this type of problem before. I don't know if the problem is in IE or in Java or somewhere else. I'm really stumped on this one and I would appreciate suggestions as to where to look for the cause of this.

    Hi Jonathan,
You could try to deselect the “Automatically Detect Settings” to check how it works.
And enable the scripting of Java applets settings:
    1. Click "Tools" --> "Internet Options"
    2. Next, select the Security Tab, and select the "Custom Level" button
    3. Scroll down to "Scripting of Java applets"
    4. Make sure the "Enable" radio button is checked.
    5. Click OK to save your preference.
Or you could try to change the settings in group editor (win + R --> Run --> gpedit.msc --> ok):
    Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Internet Explorer\Internet Control Panel\Security Page\Internet Zone\Java Permissions
Please also try to reinstall Java.
    http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp
In addition, I would like to suggest you try to use compatibility mode (go to tools --> Compatibility View Settings) to check the issue.
Meanwhile, I suggest you could reset the Internet Explorer to see if the issue persists.
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923737
Please understand that reset Internet Explorer to its default configuration. This step will also disable any add-ons, plug-ins, or toolbars that are installed.
If the issue still occurs, I suggest you use process monitor to identify what is working/not working/identify what is blocking the use of Java/Java applets.
For your reference, you can download Process Monitor from the link below:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645.aspx
    Hope it helps.

  • Applet not opening a socket on its own host. Please help.

I have also posted this in JSC2 forum.
My applet is not able to open a socket on its own host.
The applet is being served by a JSP (developed using Sun Creator2) from my laptop behind a DHCP broadband router at (say) 125.238.104.132 at my residence. I have a URL samsub.no-ip.biz that redirects port 80 calls to 29080 where my application runs. All required router rules/mapping are done and the JSPs run perfectly fine. In one of the pages, I have inserted an applet inside an escape disabled statictext field as follows:
    <applet code="AppClient.class" width=540 height=440></applet>
The applet code and the test server code are shown below for your analysis. Note that, when run on the same machine (at home), the applet works fine. The commented lines will show other failed test. The error reported at the java console was: null pointer at line 56
Could someone help me please. Thanx. MarySam

    Hi Guys,
I'm not actually from Mozilla Firefox, but I've had this problem before, and I've solved it with the help from another website.
What you need to do is download a programme called "tdsskiller" from here:
    http://www.geekpolice.net/t23369-computer-infected
scroll down the page and you should see a link. (I know the article itself seems irrelevant to your problem, but trust me, the programme they recommend works on this virus too.) It's only 1.3MB or so, so it doesn't take up huge amounts of space either! :)
I can safely say that it is COMPLETELY safe to download this from geekpolice.net, as this website is a free website which helps people with viruses on their computer. If you ever have another problem with anything to do with computers, go and have a look on geekpolice.net, they should have something that might help you.
Before anyone wonders why I am singing its praises so much, no I am not advertising them for any personal gain, but they have helped me get rid of some pretty nasty viruses on my computer before, so I am very grateful to them :)
SO, anyway, after you've downloaded the tdsskiller, you should run it, and it may find some infected files, in which case let it repair them. After rebooting your computer, the annoying opening tab thing should be gone!
I hope this works for anyone who's stuck :) If it doesn't, I'm really sorry, but it has definately worked for me!
    Good luck!
    Yashmeee :)

  • Opening new window from applet does not pass session

I have an applet which has a function where it opens some jsp pages in a new window. The jsp page checks for a session variable to very the user is logged in and some other variables that are required on the page. My problem is in IE 6/7 the new window does not have the session variables from the parent window.
    I'm using
    context.showDocument(new URL(host + "?" + params.toString()), "_blank");
    to open the new windows.
How can I open a jsp age in a new window while carrying over the session variables from the parent/applet window?
    Thanks for any assistance!

We experienced the same thing with Java 6 Update 18 on IE 7. As for IE 8, if the user is a local administrator, then the session is kept in the new browser windows opened via showDocument. Check out the following URL for related discussions:
    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1324181/ie8-losing-session-cookies-in-popup-windows
Our clients are forced to roll back to Java 6 Update 17. Firefox works fine.

  • Opening a jsp from an applet in a frame?

    try{
    getAppletContext().showDocument (new URL (url+"AcceptHousePos.jsphouse="+myHouse.getString()));

  • MII 12.2 workbench does not open, only ask to open/save workbench.jsp

    Hi Experts:
I found an answered question in the forum about my problem, but it didnt help me. It was posted 3 years ago. So SAP
    So here I go
I was working fine with the mii 12.2.2 workbench using J2EE 7 and suddenly the workbench presented this problem
I received a system message about to open or save workbench.jsp,
I uninstall Java and install JDK 1.6.021 due other clients have this version without problems, so I compared with one of them browser settings and java settings. The same question persist. I unistalled 1.6.021 and installed the same as the server 1.5.0222.
We already installed the last patches from dec 15, 2011, and still not working.
I already clean the java console, and inside it I set the network to Direct Connection.
    The MII server is
    OS: Win2008 Server 64 Bit
    JDK: 1.5.0222 32bit
    NW: 7.11 CE SP7
    MII: 12.2.3.1
    IE8
    My client
    OS: Win 7
    JDK: 1.6.021 bit32
    NW: 7.11 CE SP7
    MII: 12.2.3.1
    IE 9
Can you help me please. I need to continue work and go live next week.
    Thank you

    Hi
    Thank you for answer.
I used 3 different kind of JVM 5.022, 6.021 and J2EE 7. The workbench was working fine until last week,
I dont receive any error message, only that I have to save/open workbench.jsp, I tried to save or open or even cancel and workbench did not open.
I clean Java Console, I remove applets, I delete files from IE 9, I run the ccleaner, uninstall google bar, compare my java and ie explorer configurations with other clients that is working. I set network connection in java as Use browser configuration and Direct connection, nothing works.
I read even these threads and follow the directions in there
    http://forums.sdn.sap.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1130852
    http://forums.sdn.sap.com/thread.jspa?threadID=756892
The problem here is that I will go live on Jan 16th, and the only way I can develop is on site connectig to server via remote.
I dont know what to do.
    Thank you

  • File Upload applet not opening in Query Mode

File Upload Applet is opening in Query Mode in Siebel 7.5, where as in Siebel 7.8 its not opening in Query Mode.
Should anything be changed in CFG? or siebel restricted this?

    Hi,
There is a property called "Auto Query Mode" in the applet. Check whether this has been set to "New Query" in 7.5. If so the applet will be opening in Query Mode automatically. If this property is blank, in 7.8, the applet will not be opening in Query mode. Check and let me know.

  • Link to a file in the jsp page does not open correctly

    Hi all,
I have a JSP application which is similar to a discussion forum and the messages usually carry a link to an attachment file which could be of any extension.
The client pool I am dealing with are concerned only with MS Word/Excel/PPT files. When the user clicks on the file, a new browser window opens but it does not open the file in the correct application. I know that browsers can display Doc, ppt and xls files.
In my case, the browser just shows some garbage. THe link is to the correct file, I know that because I can right click and download the file and then open it in the correct application. But I want browser to find the application and open the file.
Can somebody give me hints as to what may be wrong?
Also, I am in the development stage and therefore I have only 100 odd messages in the database. Many have attachements. But only one attachment to a particular message works well..ie the browser finds MS Word and displays the doc.
Why not the remaining doc/ppt files?
    Help please!!
    Thanks in advance.
