Applet loading in different Browsers

Hi...We are currently developing an applet thas is loaded into an embedded server from LANTRONIX (WiPort). We have been experienced randomly problems like classNotFound ClassNotDefFound.
This applet must run on IE Firefox Netscape Navigator and Opera. Strangely applet works well only in Opera browser.
Errors seems to be related to client side LAN speed. (If embedded web server is accessed from a 10Mbits LAN only Opera can run the applet. If webServer is accessed from a 100Mbits connection, all browsers can load tthe applet.)
We read about different classloader for every browser, can it be related to the problem?
Classes are compressed into .cab files.
Is there any way to check class laoding into the html code.
Thanks in advance.

Are you sure IE6 is using Sun's plugin 6?
If I'm right, IE is using M$'s JRE plugin by default, leading to crappy and unpredicable behavior.

    search the forum first - this has been asked since sound was

    To fix the freezing when sleeping problem go to System Preferences>Energy Saver and set 'Computer Sleep' to 'Never'. It seems there is a problem for some with Bluetooth failing to wake after sleep. This fixes it 100% for me and many others on here, until Apple issue a software update to address it.
    Not sure what to suggest on the internet problem. I assume you are connected and receive and send emails OK.
    Edit: To try to troubleshoot the internet issue maybe try turning the Firewall off: System Preferences>Security & Privacy>Firewall tab.

  • Applet load problem with Linux browsers

    My application uses jsp and applets and I am having a problem loading the applets
    under all Linux browsers. If you switch between the applets rapidly then without fail you will get yourself into a state where the applets do not load (you see the applet
    splash screen and that's it). When you are in this state you cannot load any future applets from this browser. You have to kill the browser and start it again to load the applet. I have tested this with Galeon 1.2.6, Mozilla 1.0.1, and Netscape 7.0 with versions 1.4.1_01, 1.4.0_01, and 1.3.1_05. Can anyone shed some light on this problem? A thread dump shows that there are many threads waiting on monitors that I am afraid will never get notified since I have clicked onto another applet. Thanks for any insight...

  • Swf does not load completely in browsers

    Hello,
    It looks like other people are having issues with
    uploading/viewing, but I can't seem to find an answer to my
    problem. There are pieces missing from my home page. When I go back
    to the home page from the other pages (by clicking on "Lindsey
    Sonu", the home page is complete. I have checked my site on three
    different browsers, at all times of the day and on both a mac and
    pc. I can't seem to figure out what is wrong. Please help!
    www.lindseysonu.com
    Thank you :)

    So after hrs of searching forums and trying different things,
    I still couldnt get my site to load completely until I decided that
    maybe it could be a corrupt image that I used. It wasnt that
    either, but then I remembered that this started happening after I
    added a preloader. So I took the preloader off and now my site
    loads correctly! Hallelujah! I'm still confused as to why that was
    the problem. Maybe the site doesnt need a preloader b/c of its
    small size. Anyway, I hope this helps anyone who comes across this
    issue!

  • Why isn't yahoo mail sign in page not loading from any browsers on desktop?

    I am experiencing this problem from yesterday where the page stops loading when I click on yahoo mail. It stops right at the sign in page with a blank page, thus I am unable to access yahoo mail. I have tried different browsers and even different users, after clearing cache, cookies and internet history. I did notice I am able to access yahoo mail without any trouble from a different pc altogether and from a mobile device. I assumed the problem would be fixed overnight but it's still not working. I have never experienced this problem before. Please help. Thank you.

    Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache.
    * Clear the Cache
    Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
    and
    * Remove Cookies
    '''''Warning ! ! '' This will log you out of all sites you're logged in to.'''
    Press the '''Alt''' or '''F10''' key to bring up the tool bar.
    Followed by;
    Windows; '''Tools > Options'''
    Linux; '''Edit > Preferences'''
    Mac; ''application name'' '''> Preferences'''
    Then '''Privacy.'''
    Under '''History''', select Firefox will '''Use Custom Settings'''.
    There is a button on the right side called '''Show Cookies'''.
    If there is still a problem,
    '''[https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode Start Firefox in Safe Mode]''' {web link}
    While you are in safe mode;
    Press the '''Alt''' or '''F10''' key to bring up the tool bar.
    Followed by;
    Windows; '''Tools > Options'''
    Linux; '''Edit > Preferences'''
    Mac; ''application name'' '''> Preferences'''
    Then '''Advanced > General.'''
    Look for and turn off '''Use Hardware Acceleration'''.
    Poke around safe web sites. Are there any problems?
    Then restart.

  • Disable next-generation Java Plug-in-Is Applets load on same JVM guranteed?

    Dear all,
    I am working on a banking application that uses WinXP and JRE1.5, where the banking application is browser based and with a lot of applets. For inter-applet communcation, we use singleton, a Object called CommonFunctionUtility, which is a single instance so that all applets can share information.
    Recently, there is a direction to upgrade the JRE to 1.7. However, after upgrade, we find that applets are loaded to different JVMs so that they're not referring to the same instance of this CommonFunctionUtility, so applet hangs as they cannot retrieve correct information.
    As an interim solution to meet internal requirement to complete JRE1.7 rollout, it is suggested to disable the next-generation java plugin first, and amend the application later using other way to share data later. In view to this, may anyone have any idea that Oracle ever confirm that after disabling next-generation java plugin, it is guranteed that all applets in same browser will be loaded on same JVM?
    Regards,
    Francis

    By disabling the next generation plugin it should "work as before". That's about as much guarantee as you'll get, the business of providing guarantees lies on your shoulders (without an Oracle service agreement) through system integration tests.

  • Applet loading issue in mozilla

    I have an issue while loading two instances of same applet with two different users on same machine. When two applets are loaded the content in one applet is shown on the other applet and others data is gone. It seems the problem is with static information. But the same is working fine in IE.
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened

    You're right, I had the same problem and found out that applets share the static context, so if you are using many instances of the same applet on a browser, you cannot use static variables unless you find a way to share them safely.

  • Repetitive Applet Loading

    Hi,
    I have written a [signed applet|http://code.google.com/p/jzebra/] that sends special raw data to a printer. This applet loads and works well by specifying printer parameters as applet param tags.
    The applet is an open source project and has gained some momentum from a few web developers.
    Since this applet is designated for printing, it's loaded and unloaded a multitude of times (possibly hundreds) per day as the applet appears on the "print page" of the web sites that use it. (Think of a bar-code print page for example). This loading and unloading seems like a redundant step that could benefit by having the applet always running instead.
    In terms of functionality, I'm getting great feedback from users, but one complaint seems to be the load time of the applet for each successive load of the print page (our company uses the applet in a similar fashion).
    Is there a way to keep the applet "always loaded" page-wide or site-wide and have it simply "listen" for the print jobs? (Or perhaps is our web page design just wrong?)
    Suppose a pop-up or new web page loads that needs to use the applet, can the applet be residual in that fashion? It smells like a client-server relationship, but I doubt a server-side solution would work since the printers are attached locally to the workstations. I'm a fluent java developer but only know basic web development. Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks!

    If this applet is deployed in a 1.6.0_10+ JREOur organization has flexibility on JRE versions, so requiring update 10 shouldn't be too large of a hurdle. In fact, the stations with internet access receive it automatically so we're lucky in that regard.
    it is possible to configure it via JWS (even while still embedded in the web page). JWS would provide more reliable caching behaviour, and might even allow you to provide the applet sandboxed, by using the JNLP API's PrintService. When you say "webstart" and "sandboxed", I assume you mean it will be a web start application that appears to be running as an applet within the page. >Just a slight clarification. To me, web start means a way of launching, sand-boxed means as opposed to j2ee-application-client-permissions or all-permissions, and embedded in a web page means as opposed to free floating (like a JFrame).
    It has been possible to launch applets using web start since Java 1.2 that become free floating. Since 1.6.0_10, it has become possible to configure an embedded applet using web start.
    All security levels are available to any application or applet launched(/configured) using web start. But a 'normal' (not configured by JNLP) signed applet has one of two security levels, either sand-boxed (the user refused the digitally signed code) or all-permissions (code OK'd).
    To use the web start services from the sand box, the code does not need to be digitally signed (one of the main benefits), but to get the code elevated to j2ee-application-client-permissions or all-permissions, it needs to be signed.

    ..Although the built-in PrintService makes me wonder if you're hinting into going application-less and doing the logic in php/JavaScript. The only reason it actually shows in the page, is because it was the conservative applet approach.
    Having the applet outside the browser, or even "invisible" to the end-users is usually desired so as long as it's controlled through other means if necessary.
    Thank you for the response and the link. I launched the PrintService demo and received the security dialogs. Is that the primary purpose of the demos? >Basically. If you want to continue to deploy as trusted, then that 'query at time of print' prompt would disappear.
    >
    ...I didn't expect it to actually print anything. So, naturally I'll need to read more.
    I'm marking this thread as answered, but I'm very interested in learning more about use Java Web Start to exploit this applet. I guess I'm still a bit undereducated on the applet -- vs -- application aspect of JWS and how to bind and exploit the api through a web page.>All the services mentioned in the [JNLP API page|http://pscode.org/jws/api.html] are available to applets deployed via web start, though some of them (file associations, single instance service..) do not make much sense for applets. But the main reason I mentioned it, as that it takes control of the class caching from the browser, and makes it more reliable. Check out the [Java Web Start|http://java.sun.com/javase/technologies/desktop/javawebstart/index.jsp] pages at Sun, but keep in mind that the embedded web start applets are fairly new, and the Sun pages probably do not mention them yet (shrugs).
    It occured to me that if you are configuring the applet parameters for different products(/whatever) then you are actively generating the parameters? One slight complication is that configuring applets can be done via JS or a server side solution, whereas deployment using web start would require a unique (for each set of parameters) JNLP file that must be generated on the server side.

  • I have tried loading 3 different cds that I just bought into Itunes and I click the import cd button and it goes through the motions of importing the cds, but when I go to my library none of these cds is there.  Help, please!

    I have tried loading 3 different cds that I recently purchased into Itunes.  I click the import cd button and Itunes goes through the motion of copying and importing the cds, but the songs are not in my music library.  I have searched everywhere to find where these cds might be, but to no avail.  Could really use some help here.  Never used to have this problem.

    Are they in the relevant artist & album folders when you look via Windows Explorer. If so something may have gone wrong with the index of the Music playlist. Download the current iTunes Free Single of the Week. I know it sounds odd, but it should fix the problem.
    If that doesn't work close iTunes and delete the hidden file sentinel from inside the main iTunes folder, then start iTunes again. It should run a consistency check when it starts up.
