Thanx in advance...

the error message might give us a clue... Can you tell which VM mozilla is using ? Based on the snippet you supplied, I'd say mozilla isn't using the 1.4 JVM (which the applet appearantly needs)

  • Nm-applet not starting

    Hi to everyone, I just installed arch x86_64 on my notebook with EFI, I am using also multilib and the xf86-video-intel driver. I installed gnome but not able to use networkmanager correctly, the applet is not starting even if it seems the daemon is running network settings says that net services are not compatible with this version. I followed the wiki about networkmanager and searched trough the forum and google to find a solution but I wasn't able to find one. Here is my ~/.xsession-errors:

    Because it says to do that in the wiki: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ne … work_setup
    natestar13 wrote:If you're trying to use NetworkManager, you shouldn't have any networking setup in your rc.conf or anywhere else other than in NetworkManager
    I am not. The daemon is running, it's just about the applet. Anyway, I fixed the problem following another thread (that I'm not able to find anymore) and changing all "deny" occurrences to "allow" in
    /etc/dbus-1/system.d/org.freedesktop.NetworkManager.conf
    I'm sure this is not the right solution anyway, just a workaround. Plus, when I update NetworkManager that file is updated and I have to change it again.

  • JAVA applet not starting...am I missing other plugins?

    I dont know if this belongs in the Oracle Apps Server forum, but I've ruled out that it has nothing to do with my Apps Server, so I'm putting my question here...
    I am trying to deploy forms to my Oracle Apps Server on my UNIX server and am having some trouble. The forms run just fine when running from my client UNIX box, but when going to run on other boxes, the JAVA applet is not working. I'm running it using a Firefox Web Browser and it is saying that it needs to search and install an applet by going on the internet, but our unix boxes on our project are blocked from connecting to the internet. So...
    1) Are there any other browser plugins that forms requires other than a JRE?
    2) If not, is thre something that I need to do to my server?
    3) Are there other packages that need to be installed?
    I have went through and ensured that the java plugin is symbolically linked on the browser of the other unix boxes.

    By default JInitiator is used to run forms on the client. This is Oracle's JVM. I have not succeeded runing it within Firefox, but it works well with IE.
    You can try to edit your forms configuration (use the OEM). In "IE" parameter you will find the following instructions:
    System parameter: JVM option for Microsoft Internet Explorer.
    This parameter specifies how to execute the Forms applet under
    Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x or above. Put IE=native if you want
    the Forms applet to run in the browser's native JVM.
    So you can try to put "native" and see if it will work with Firefox. As I said JInitiator does not.
    Good luck!

    No difference when i run it in Safe mode. And it won't let me create a new profile either. Is there anyway else i can extract my bookmarks? This is driving me crazy!

    Did the crash reporter send any crash reports?<br />
    You can see the crash reports in this folder:
    "C:\Users\&lt;user&gt;\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Crash Reports"
    See: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Breakpad
    See also [[Firefox crashes when you open it]]
    Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.<br /><br />
    See [[Basic Troubleshooting#Make_a_new_profile|Basic Troubleshooting&#58; Make a new profile]]<br /><br />
    There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins"<br /><br />
    If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)<br /><br />
    See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Transferring_data_to_a_new_profile_-_Firefox<br /><br />
    If that still causes the same problem then do a clean reinstall and remove the Firefox program folder.
    * Download a fresh Firefox copy from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.
    * Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
    * Don't remove personal data when uninstalling.
    * It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
    See:
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Clean_reinstall

  • Firefox not starting after update to 3.6.11 from 3.6.10 on vista platform. XUL error report. Uninstall including removing mozilla items in regedit or system restore does not resolve issue. XUL error still reappears after reinstall ? in English

    Problem exists on my HP C0mpaq 6720s , Vista operating system.
    System restore, restored to version 3.6.3 instead of 3.6.10 . This did not start either. Previously, I used Revo Uninstaller Pro to remove all Mozilla items, checked regedit and removed all Mozilla folders, then reinstalled 3.6.11 from your website. Mozilla would not start and XUL error stated 1.9.2.10 followed by min 1.9.2.11 and max 1.9.2.11 . This was the same error report that appeared after the automatic update.
    So I am at a loss and without Mozilla .

    I have successfully resolved this issue on my PC by allowing updater.exe through the firewall. This updater.exe is located in the folder where your Mozilla Firefox was installed. The default folder is "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\updater.exe"

  • Applet does not start after JRE 1.5 installation

    Hi,
    When I go to my webpage where I have an applet that requires Java 1.5..the browsers are prompting for Java installation (ActiveX component install on IE or Firefox plugin for JRE installation). But once the Java install completes the applet does not start automatically. The same code used to work nicely with Java 1.4. The applet used to automatically start and run once the JRE install completed. But with JRE 1.5 it does not start. If I do a refresh on the browser it again prompts for java installation. If I open new browser window and go to the URL the applet starts. Please let me know how to get the applet to start automatically after JRE 1.5 installation.
    Thanks,

    We figured out the problem. the CLASSID was not the right one. Once we changed it...its working fine.

  • Just updated to latest version , getting started with Mozilla Firefox opens everytime not homepage , how do I get rid of unwanted page

    I upgraded to the latest version of Firefox , when I hit the icon and firefox opens the first page that comes up is the Getting started with Mozilla Firefox and not my home page , I have checked everything I could find and nothing keeps this page from opening like it's my home page . also I unloaded download helper for the same reason , it keep opening up wanting me to upgarde to the latest version , I already had upgraded , I don't know what is going on , My home system was upgraded early last week and works fine , I double checked all setting between the two systems , nothing , Please let me know where to look , thank you , a longtime fan of Firefox.

    Hi Romulus949,
    You should take a look at the Knowledge Base article [[How to set the home page]].
    There are steps in that article to reset your homepage preferences to default. I would try that first to clear out any strangeness. Then you can set your homepage to anything you like.
    If that doesn't work you should look at [https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Firefox+has+just+updated+tab+shows+each+time+you+start+Firefox this article about that specific issue] and the article [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Preferences_not_saved Preferences not saved].
    Hopefully this helps!

    Thanks for your help. I had tried starting Firefox in safe-mode before I posted this request, but it did not work. I tried to restore the system to an earlier version, but that made everything worse. Two accounts were unusable and one sort of worked, so I reloaded the operating system and now firefox works, for how long, I don't know. But thanks again for your suggestion.

  • 3D Applet not running in IE, Mozilla, etc ...

    Hi,
    I have programmed an 3D applet with the J3D engine.
    When I start the .jar everything is fine.
    I have created the JAR with JBuilder and a main-class definition.
    Now I want to run the JAR as an applet.
    The HTML I have written seems to be OK because the brwosers say "Applet blabla started."
    The applet area just stays white ...
    Where can I find something like a log of the starting process or the errors that occur in my java app?
    Thanks in adavnce!

    I got some reasonable solution from some other forum.
    The Problem is with the VM. The JVM is crashed with MS VM.
    That is why the browser diplays class not found error.
    This is because the MS VM is not allowing the JVM to look for .class files.
    This will happen for java 1.4.x .
    If you use HTML converter (converting the applet to object) it will work.
    But the Optimal solution is compile your applet file with -target option.
    e-g
    javac target 1.1 HelloWorld.java
    It is the most efficient way to avoid such problems with IE while running the applets.
    I Thank you all for your solutions.
    with love Vija

  • Start:applet not initilaized error

    Hi friends,
    I'm getting Start:applet not initilaized error when i'm running a program...
    saved a notepad file as Testloan.java used javac Testloan.java and appletviewer Testloan.java to execute the applet here is my code...
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.awt.event.*;
    import java.applet.Applet;
    <html>
    <applet code="Testloan.class" width=300 height=100>
    </applet>
    </html>
    public class Testloan extends Applet implements ActionListener
    TextField t1,t2,t3;
    Label lp,lr,lmp;
    Button b1,b2;
         public void init()
         lp=new Label("Principal");
         lr=new Label("Rate");
         lmp=new Label("Payment");
         add(lp);
         add(lr);
         add(lmp);
         t1=new TextField();
         add(t1);
         t2=new TextField();
         add(t2);
         t3=new TextField();
         add(t3);
         b1=new Button("submit");
         add(b1);
         b1=new Button("Exit");
         add(b2);
         b1.addActionListener(this);
    b2.addActionListener(this);
    public void start() {
    //win.setVisible(true);
    public void stop() {
    //win.setVisible(false);
    public static int months(int principal,double rate,int payment)
              Testloan tl=new Testloan();
              principal=Integer.parseInt(tl.t1.getText());
              rate=Double.parseDouble(tl.t2.getText());
              payment=Integer.parseInt(tl.t3.getText());
              int p=principal;
              double eRate = rate / 1200.0;
              int month =0,np=1;
                   while(np>0)
                   month = month + 1;
                   np= (int) (p*(1+eRate)-payment );
                   System.out.println(np+"/n");
                   p = np;
              return month;
    public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e)
    String cmd = e.getActionCommand();
    }

    First, the code you posted was mangled by the forum formatting software. When you post code, select it and click the CODE button above the typing area, which will prevent that, and maintain your formatting.
    When you ran the appletviewer program from the cmd window, error information was posted to it by the java command. Did you look at it? It says that you have a NullPointerException at this line
    add(b2);because there's a typo in this line
    b1 = new Button("Exit");which should have assigned a value to b2, not b1
    Read and understand the error messages that java creates, they almost always point exactly at the problem and allow you to debug the cause.
