Applet Object Class Problem

I am just eperimenting with applets. I have made a very simple applet which works fine without any non-Java-Native object types. The applet only inserts a blank tabbed pane. As soon as I try to import another package, JFree Graphing in this case, the applet cannot find these JFree object data type classes.
Everything works fine from the command prompt locally or via the appletViewer. I am using Resin as a standalone webserver, and the html and applet class are all in the same /doc directory. I have copied the two JFree JAR's (jfreechart-0.9.8.jar & jcommon-0.8.3.jar) everywhere I could think of. They're in my classpath, and they're in resin/lib, resin/doc/web-inf/lib, resin/doc/web-inf/work, and the local directory.
There's obviously a problem with the applet finding the JAR, does anyone know how I can fix this?

Servlet Applet object communication problem???!!!

Hy folks,
I need to validate the ability of complex Servlet Applet communication an run into my first pb right at the beginning of my tests. I need to have around 200 Applet clients connect to my servlet and communicate by ObjectInput and ObjectOutput streams. So I wrote a simple Servlet accepting HTTP POST connections that return a Java object. When the java Applet get instantiated, the Object Stream communication workes fine. But when the Applet tries to communicate with the servlet after that, I can not create another communication session with that Servlet, instead I get a 405 Method not allowed exception.
Summarized:
- Applet init() instantiate URLConnection with Servlet and request Java object (opening ObjectInput and Output Stream, after receaving object, cloasing streams).
- When I press a "get More" button on my Applet, I am not able to instantiate a new URLConnection with my servler because of that 405 exception, WHY???

Error loading class problem with applet (Newbie)

I am new to Java applets. I try to display a simple sample. I put this into html file: <APPLET codebase="classes" code="NewApplet.class" width=350 height=200></APPLET>
And it always appears one problem:

Now I am able to load the applet on MAC OS X 10.4.11. This is due to network issue.
Now my problem with the applet functionality. My applet will display the map image. Applet contains the navigation arrow keys at the top left of my applet. These keys will be used to navigate through the map.
The problem is while user using the navigation buttons, the image got squash and stretch.
This is happened only on MAC OS X 10.4.11 and Its working fine on PC and MAC OS X 10.5.5.
Please anyone help in this regard. Thanks in advance.

Problem While using Applet Reqd classes using Weblogic 5.1

Here is my problem while using other classes from the Applet gives an error:NoClassDefFound,
I have also put the applet reqd. classes in a jar file and placed this jar along with the applet
in weblogic/myserver/serverclases,
my tag in the html file is as follows:

Is this an issue with the "T-engine" or the "J-engine"? Are you using a
ubbconfig file or weblogic.properties file? Can you post the stack trace?
This may be an known issue and simply require you to install the latest
service pack for WLS 5.1 (aka. J-engine)...

Retrieve applet object

I'm fairly new to Java and I've been concentrating my efforts in applet programming. One thing I've noticed is that I seem to require the Applet object a lot in my code as I'm doing a lot of file reading (applet.getCodeBase, etc). I have a few instances in my code where I pass the applet object to different packages to perform basic operations and I'm starting to feel as if I'm doing this wrong.
Is there a way to obtain the applet object using a global static function?

Applet/object param name="legacy_lifecycle" value="true"/ documentation?

I've recently stumbled across this applet/object parameter as a solution to a problem. However I can't find the official documentation of it anywhere, and believe me I've looked. I did find a reference to it in some Oracle product documentation but nowhere in the Java Plugin or Deployment documents. Has anybody spotted it anywhere? Urban myth? Legend? It certainly seems to work.

Cannot Acccess Applet Object from Java Script

Hi,
I am using jRE1.5, and Kava Chart Applets. Those applet jars are compiled in jdk 1.5 version. I have created one jsp where I used ,<applet> tag. The problem is when ever I am going to access the applet object from java script it is not returning the actual java applet object, when put an alert message it shows [object]. So i am not able to access the methods or the applet class.and also the screen gets hung, nothing is coming.It get stuck at the point where i tried to access the applet method like document.getElementById(applet_id).<<<some method of the applet class>>.Also it is not showing any kind of javascript error or Applet class exceptions.
But the strange thing is, when i use jdk 1.6, the page is running fine.Also when i try to print the applet object from javascript it is showing the proper class name.
Please help me solving the problem.

A number of changes and improvements were made between 1.5 and 1.6 - the entire plugin is new. You need to change to 1.6, as 1.5 goes EOL about November this year and future changes to this area in 1.5 are unlikely.

Please try to re-generate the adapter object (ZDNL_CUST_CND) services using trx.
SMOGGEN
. After this, try re-running the load.
I assume that your CRM inbound mapping module are correctly coded. If the problem persists, try de-registering the R3AD_CONDITIONS inbound queue using trx.
SMQR
and then debugging the inbound queue from the same trx. after re-starting the load.

I know how to add an attribute but how can i add the attribute to an existing custom object class.

The objectclasses attribute is multi-valued, so you can add several values to it as long as they are unique.
For instance, I think you can add several declaration of the same objectclass as below (note the difference is the number of spaces in the value) howewer, from a schema perspective, only 1 will be taken into account:

That's the reason why it is safe to delete previous value if you want to update an existing objectclass. No problem to add a new objectclass (new oid and new name) to the schema.

I am testing a web application which is completely Java applet base.
Envirnment used jdk1.1.8 and Jre1.4.
I have been trying to identify applet object used in our application.
problem i faced:
when i set java option in option seting for both Microsoft applet and sun system applet. where my system having jdk1.1.8 and jre1.4.
Recording on above envirnment I am able to record my application but i can not play that. On this case I marked Abbot script generated.
when uninstall jdk and jre.
I am able to record and play my application still some step. But I am not able to customize it.
this application also uses StarTree a hyporbolic tree API from
"Business Object" now bought by SAP (this api used inside applet
frame).
Is any one work on e-tester to automate in and out of an application which is built in java applet.
Can some one help me to figure out where I am doing wrong.
Before this I worked on e-tester year back to automate one of our application and still we are doing our regression on that.

When you say customize, are you referring to parameters? They is handled differently with applets. I believe there is documentation on this.

After long fight, i'm now able to connect to my NIS server on my network. the initial context factory is 'com.sun.jndi.nis.NISCtxFactory' and provider url are given and i obtain namingennumeration of items in the NIS directory.
purpose of my project:
using ypcat command we can view the services,passwd,host... objects in unix.
my project requirement is that i shd open this 'services' object in java (using JNDI probably) and shd access its content.
i'm able to obtain the object and the type of this object is 'NISCtxServices' defined in 'com.sun.jndi.nis.NISCtxFactory' package, but all the classes and methods except some are not public and so im not able to use almost all the methods in this class 'NISCtxServices' .
Can any one help me in accessing the information inside this object.

It's because JFrame does not have a public progessbar variable, only your subclass has that.

Are there any shortcuts for creating Value Object Classes?

I'm using a Remote Object to connect to my server
(pyAMF/Django). I'm getting stuck with the creation of Value Object
Classes. It doesn't seem very DRY to have a class on my server
representing the data model and then have to recreate that class
and all its properties in my Flex app.
Are there any shortcuts for creating client side VOs from
server side data?
I was thinking about declaring an empty VO class in Flex, and
then dynamically assigning/casting my Proxy object to that class.
It seems like that approach may cause problems for the Flex
compiler though.
Any hints?

Everything looks fine as far as the setup goes... Unless you're having problems with a specific JMF application, I wouldn't worry about the diagnostic applet telling you it isn't installed correctly.
Very well could be a browser security issue with the applet...
