AppleTV Disappearing Content

I have the same issue - bloody annoyed!
I downloaded: Entourage series 3a/b, Prime Suspect Series 3,4,5 onto Apple TV and watched them; my server was turned off and not syncing at that time as we were having the room decorated. As soon as the sync re-started when I turned-on the server, all of the additional content disappeared...In itunes it created a 'Entourage series three icon and listed all of the content grey-ed out - it never completed the sync and all of the content purchased on AppleTV was lost - this keeps happening to a lot of people sort it out.

I understand your frustration, but we're only AppleTv users here, not Apple support.
Send feedback to link above as this problem is unacceptable. You won't get a reply.
In iTunes log into your account, go to your purchase history and 'Report a Problem' for the shows you've lost - express your frustration by all means but bear in mind the guys who'll handle this are not developers and are simply customer support to try and sort things out for you. With a bit of luck they'll re-enable downloads, but I suggest you download them direct to itunes.

There are many threads with users experiencing missing downloads of tv shows. There is clearly something going on apples side here and really disappointed that no one has come forward and stated that we are aware of an issue and hope to have it fixed asap. Considering how many people purchase products for apple tv the response should by apple should be better. tech support telling people such as myself to do a complete restore of apple tv is not acceptable which i did just in case. the issue still remains. i advise people to hold off purchasing content for tv shows until an answer is provided. wasted enought time on this matter and still a fan of apple but patience is wearing thin. i realize that this forum is not answered by apple but feel that apple does read these posts and would love to keep the revenue coming in for itunes as it avoids piracy among other things.

For iTunes plus material all that would be needed would be for the user perhaps to confirm their iTunes store credentials to allow the reverse transfer to happen to prevent opportunistic copies being made by nefarious individuals or those who have come into possession of stolen or 2nd hand AppleTVs.
I have found to date that iTunes Store invariably are quite helpful with any purchases that develop issues, but it is not guaranteed they'd allow redownloads etc, and it takes so little to put consumers off a service when it doesn't live up to expectations.

AppleTV disappearing after passcode inserted on OSX

Hey everybody,
my AppleTV is disappearing from iTunes as soon as passcode is inserted in iTunes. I can't sync anything neither I ever saw the window for managing the content. But I have no difficulties by using the internet functionalities (Trailers, Top LIsts of iTunesMusicStore and so on). I've tried all the things written on the Apple-Support site, but nothing worked. Can anyone help me? I'm using iMac Intel Core 2 Duo, 10.4.9, iTunes 7.1.1

Questionnaire about AppleTV disappears or does not synch with iTunes

I'm heavily investigating the source of this common problem. There are several posts here stating that one solution could be to use a wired connection. As I'm using such a wired connection and have still this problem, I cannot subscribe this. My current results show me that this must have something to do with Bonjour. My personal latest working OS version on the AppleTV was either 2.1 or 2.2. After updating these to the newer versions (2.3, 2.3.1, 2.4) the trouble started and still continues. But I also realized that there was a slight "security" related distinction made in the "original" OS: 1.0 or 1.1. Depending which version it is, there is a difference in the "UPnP" stack.
To keep it short: I would like to know, what current and what original OS version (it's the one you get if you do a full factory restore) you use, and if you face the same trouble as many others.

My first ATV had to be replaced because the wireless NIC failed after a few months. The replacement for that one is still chugging along, but it does occasionally drop the wi-fi connection. I had it connected by Ethernet cable for a while, and that stopped the connection loss problems, but I needed the cable for something else, so it's back on wi-fi, and it's back to dropping the wi-fi connection occasionally.
My ATV also becomes unstable after streaming for several hours and either restarts itself or needs to be restarted via the power cord. It also has a tendency to restart itself spontaneously at random times during the course of a week.
All in all, I have to say it's the most unstable Apple product I've ever owned. My guess is that the high temperature it generates affects its stability over time. If this one fails, I'm simply not going to replace it. My iMac with a video cable will still allow me to watch my iTunes videos on TV. The ATV was unique when it was first released, but it's become passe considering that there are now better devices on the market tied to better (and more cost-effective) services.

Adobe Acrobat 8 Standard v8.2.5 Disappearing Content Issue

We are seeing a very strange behavior in PDFs generated converting a web page using using Adobe Standard 8. It appears that the PDF was generated properly, but as soon as we start scrolling or switching windows, the content of the PDF disappears. The behavior is observed on Windows XP, SP3 machines but we are unable to reproduce the issue. It just happens... Any advise would be much appreciated.

This issue has been resolved. I had to uninstall the 8.3.0 from the machines and then patch the machines again with Adobe Acrobat v8.2.6 before patching the systems again with v8.3.0.
Since Adobe Acrobat quaterly patches are not cumulative, you have to install the patches in order.....8.25 --> 8.2.6 -->8.3.0.

Publishing problem! Disappearing content...

Would appreciate any assistance.
I am trialing DW CS3 on new desktop using Vista Business. My
ISP has provided al the remote info and connection is working and
my site has been properly defined.
My problem begins just seconds after i upload. It does not
matter if i upload one page or an entire site. Within seconds of
the upload arriving at the remote server the entire content
disappears leaving just the file name with no size, ie index.html
0kb. Images also become 0kb within seconds of arriving at the
remote site.
I am certain it is a vista problem as i have an older slower
lap top running xp and i have no problem with DWCS3 when using this
machine.

Disappearing content in a table

Hello All,
I have been adding to a course syllabus week by week in
Dreamweaver 8. The syllabus is in a table, centered, with a
repeating background image. Recently the bottom part of the
syllabus, along with the table including it, fluctuates between
being visible and invisible when in 100% design view. If I run the
mouse over the edge of the table, it will sometimes reveal content,
sometimes not. If I scroll up, the content reveals again, only to
disappear if I scroll back down. (If I jump up to 150% view,
everything shows as it regularly should.) It also appears fine in
several different browsers, both when I preview and when I upload
to my server and view live. I have tried cleaning up Word HTML, yet
the problem remains. It is WAY weird, particularly since the code
is all there, intact, yet you can't see all the content at 100%
view. I have tried copying and pasting into a new table in a new
file, without the repeating image, yet the bottom content is still
invisible in 100% view.
Any ideas?

You are on a Mac, and your page is VERY long?
Try making your design view zoom setting 99% or 101% and see
what happens.
Better - break your very long page into several shorter ones.

Disappearing Content Window in A3

I am running the trial version of A3 and there is one serious flaw that I have - when scrolling, the content window begins to go to white - disappears as I scroll. Happens in the Metadata tab, the Adjustments tab and the viewer\split view. This problem does not happen in full screen mode. Has anyone else seen this behavior? I have repaired permissions and re-installed from a new download. Advice is appreciated.

As you can see, all the text and content goes away except for the dropdown menus and links at the top and bottom. As I mentioned, this occurs in both CS4 and CS5 trial versions of Contribute. When trying File/Edit in external application which is notepad on my system, sometimes the text is formatted and coherant (like when you open View Source in IE8) and other times notepad opens up as all text, no spaces, or formatting of any kind--looks like a garbled mess.
Any help is appreciated.

Feeling totally misled about AppleTV (Storing content on the AppleTV)

So I bought an AppleTV a few months ago, and got as much infor as I could online and from the store (and, frankly, it wasn't much). I had assumed that the whole idea behind 160 gb of storage was that I could actually free up some space on my hard drive (after all, the biggest hard drive for the MacBook is 200 gigs). But, after two hours on technical support (my call was dropped twice), I got confirmation that it is impossible to keep content on the AppleTV and remove it from my iTunes folder.
Even worse, I have moved my iTunes folder to an external drive to save space. But this means that if I happen to open up iTunes while within wireless range of my Apple TV and don't have the drive connected, all my content will be deleted from the Apple TV. This is absolutely crazy.
Does anyone have a workaround?

I'm sorry you feel you have been misled, but there is no reason to believe that is the case, the information about the tv makes it quite clear what it does. It's very strength is that it is not what a media centre is and that it is a media extender (whether that be a windows media centre or a mac mini attached to the tv.)
What user 1724 is trying to say is that if you delete the actual media from your laptop and don't delete the listings in itunes the media synced to the tv will not get wiped from it. This is a very dangerous approach in terms of the possibility of losing all your content and means you can never sync anything new to the tv.
What you can do instead is purchase an external HD (let me finish- I know you don't want to have a ext HD attached all the time), you could move your library to the drive, but you may want to keep music and a few choice videos on your laptop so you can play them at any time on the laptop, Sync everything you want to to the tv, close itunes and disconnect the drive, when you open itunes the content on the HD won't be available and you won't be able to play it on your laptop but don't delete it from itunes, the tv will try to sync but will fail and leave the content on the tv untouched.
When you have some new content you want to add to the tv, connect the drive, load the new content to it, add the content to itunes and let the tv sync, close itunes and disconnect the drive when finished.

Disappearing Content

Bridge has suddenly lost many of the thumbnails and sub-folders in the Contents panel - they do not appear when I click on a folder in the Folder panel. The files still exist on the computer. There seems no reason why some folders or files may be present, and others not. It affects jpegs, whole folders, and RAW files. When I click in the empty area of the contents pane, the image appears in the preview pane, than Bridge crashes.

I purged the cache before building and exporting it.
Bridge is CS3 2.1.1.9
Mac OS X 10.4.11
Files are .CR2 or .NEF or .jpg depending on which camera I have used.
I've googled and Wikipaediaed ACR but don't know what it is or whether I have it at all, Sorry!
I have recently changed a heap of file names because although my Mac accepts them, I don't believe a PC will, and I was trying to standardise everything to future-proof my system. My backup external hard-drive is not Mac-based, but has accepted almost all of my file names to date.
Reset workspace and use the refresh button F5 key. - Done. No change.
Copy files from 1 folder to a brand new folder and try again. - Done. They are shown in the new folder!
If I have to do this with all my folders, it will be rather time-consuming... but my main concern is that the jpegs will then be a copy and will have lost some quality.
Quit Bridge and go to the user library preferences folder. Inhere find the
Bridge plist file and drag this to the trash. Then in the same library go to
the caches folder caches/Adobe/Bridge(your version number with it) and in
here you find a cache folder (this one can grow to huge proportions
depending on file size, preview quality and amount of files you use). Grab
this folder and drag it to the trash (or elsewhere outside the library if
you want to be able to put it back.)
Then restart bridge again with option key and choose again refresh
preferences. Reset Bridge to your wishes and point to a folder to try again.
- Done the trick. All the thumbnails appear to be there now, and there is a new folder in library/caches/adobe/bridge, of the same size as the previous one.

Auto disappearing content using Refresh header?

Hi,
We're pushing a CiscoIPPhoneExecute to a phone. The phone requests the page (CiscoIPPhoneText) in the execute request.
The requested page needs to allow the user to respond to a question. If the user doesn't answer to the question, the question should disappear.
Can we cause the page to disappear after a set amount of seconds? I've tried a Refresh with url 30; Init:Services, but this doesn't work.
Does anyone have an idear on how to make the page disappear after x seconds?

Hi! I'm having the same issue but I'm sure I'm doing right. I mean, HTTP-REFRESH is working as expected with IP Communicator but not within the physical device: Cisco 7960G Firmware: 8.0(9.0).
The device responds with: "HOST NOT FOUND" and after more tries it finally stays with the prompt message: "HTTP ERROR[12]".
I'm also implementing a feature similar to yours: like a pop-up window.
Which device/firmware are you using?

Disappearing content area in edit view

Hello,
In contribute, the content of my page dissapears when I click to "edit page." My other pages work fine when I click to edit, it is just one page that the content dissapears. Any ideas of how to get that back?
Below is the page before I click "edit page". The second image is what happens to the page after I click "edit page." I loose the data/text in the middle of the page that I need to change.

Disappearing content MS Office 2003 Acrobat 9 Pro

After upgrading to Acrobat 9 Pro from Acrobat 8 Pro, a lot of PDF documents created from Microsoft Office 2003 had missing paragraphs. This happened in Microsoft Word.
The problem did not happen when creating the PDF files through the print driver. Rather, it happened when creating the documents through the "Add-In" where folks can click in a toolbar or "Adobe PDF > Convert to Adobe PDF" from a menu.
The solution was to turn off the "Enable Accessibility and Reflow with tagged Adobe PDF" option.

I can suggest to try this one:
Found that the file, PDFMOutlook.dll, is the culprit for many of your longstanding woes with the toolbar. A common way to eliminate the toolbar is to unregister the dll. This can be done by going to Start > Run and typing the following:
regsvr32 /u “C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\PDFMaker\Mail\Outlook\PDFMOutlook.dll”
While this indeed does get rid of the toolbar, it’s not a recommended method as it basically just keeps the file from being loaded when you start Outlook. To return the PDFMaker on the toolbar I’ll recommend that you re-register the dll file. To re-register the file, simply go to Start > Run and type the following:
regsvr32 “C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\PDFMaker\Mail\Outlook\PDFMOutlook.dll”

Disappearing content in glyphs panel

I am using InDesign CS3 and make huge use of the Glyphs panel for accented characters in French, Spanish, etc. Yesterday I opened this panel to convert some French and to my dismay found no glyphs in the display at all, and all the commands blanked out in the menus. I closed down and relaunched the application and when that did not work, I tried restarting Windows. Still no glyphs! If I were running a Mac I would trash Preferences and see if that worked, but this is a Windows XP machine (1 gig of RAM) at work. This panel was fine a few days ago.
I have not installed anything new to this computer recently and stay current with InDesign updates. Any ideas?

Hey, I didn't know you could do that in Windows! :) But I found out how to do it (close the program, start it up again and quickly hold down ctrl-alt-shift) and it worked --thank you so much! Because not only my glyphs went missing, so did my strokes, character (the general one, not the custom), and a few others!
So thanks again for pointing me in the right direction, because I am working on Swedish now and was moaning and groaning about dragging in those characters from Character Map. :)
