Application connection help in Jdev for ADF deployment

Hi,
I have installed OAS 10.1.3.1 in my local machine to test the ADF deployment. My application is in C: with jdev version 10.1.3.2 and the server is installed in C:\Product\10.1.3.1\OracleAS_1.
Could you please guide me in creating the applciation server connection in jev to this OAS?
And before deploying it to OAS, do i have to install the ADF libraries or it is already available?
Thanks,
Venkat

Thanks Frank. I do have a doubt while making the application server connection.
I installed OAS by giving Instance name as xyz and password as xyz. So when it askes for the username and password in the connection wizard, do i have to supply these?
If I do I get an error message. I tried with oc4jadmin and same as password too.
But I get the connection error.
Could you please help me in solving this issue?
This is the connection error that I get.
Error getting OC4J Process for: opmn-home+oc4j-PDC-ALA-CTX40-6003-default:
Error connecting to OPMN (is it running?): Connection refused: connect
Is there any thing I need to so before making the connection?
Thanks,
Venkat

  • Need Help:Browse Version for ADF

    Hi All,
    I am on a POC for ADF. Customer want some suggestions for Browse Version for ADF development.
    IE or Firefox, and more detail, such as IE 6,7,8 or firefox 3.5, 3.6 … is more suitable for ADF 11.1.1.3.

    Firefox vs IE vs Chrome would be mainly based upon personal preference or corporate standard, as long as you follow the supported and certified browser list that Timo provided.

  • What is the recommended way to get a java.sql.Connection to the DB  for ADF

    How do I create a standalone database connection based on the datasource setup in ADF?
    I have seen code like this in a method of AppModuleImpl.java but that seems a bit of a hack.
    Connection conn = this.getDBTransaction().createStatement(0).getConnection();
    What I need is a java.sql.Connection to the database used in the application module so I can call PL/SQL code and or work with AQ queues.
    I would prefer a separate connection from the one used by the ADF model so it can have its own transaction control etc.
    But I would like to get the connection created authenticated based on regular datasource setup.

    I use iphone4,but can't find apple store application please help me

    Malek,
    Facetime for iphone is not available in the App Store because it is already built into any iphone that is FaceTime compatible, and I think that includes iphone 4.  You should be able to find Facetime amongst the other built in applications that came with it.  However, it is possible that if it was purchased in certain countries where Facetime is not allowed, the App was not included.

  • Why need to update ADF BC connection details for ensuring deployment??

    I know it is a ADF question but still posting in this forum as it was encountered deploying a BPM application on OBPM 11.1.1.6. I get a bpm project from the internet and decide to test it out on my local. The objective was to populate the payload of the process dynamically i.e. based on the selection made by the participant on the UI (a ADF Business Component from a database table is created and rendered on the task form for the user to select). I imported the code on my JDev and changed the JDBCDataStore for both <Module>Local & <Module>Shared in the runtime configurations of the application module to point to a Data Source that I created on my WLS.
    Assuming that's all was needed to test out, tried to deploy the application on my WLS. The deployment failed with a logon - usname/pws 'mismatch' issue. This was quite strange because I had tested the DataSource after creating it. It took a while for me to figure out that it wasn' the JDBCDataStore that was causing the issue but looks like the creator of the application had created a database connection to connect to his / her local database to create the business components for the application. I had to update correct 'uname/pwd' (i.e. the one on my local) to make the deployment work.
    Now, coming to the question - I believe database connection is more a design time configuration to create the business components ?? Once they are created in the project, the deployment should be agnostic of the environment as long as we are updating our runtime configurations correctly? Somebody please help out understanding this. With my limited understanding of ADF I would rather have an expert comment and clarify this.
    Thanks,
    gsr

    Hi All,
    i my use case i have created simple adf application using ADF BC and want to deploy on Apache server 6.x.
    So my question is that  how can i create Data Source i have goggling and find  two different way to do this.
    1. write following line of code on apache server conf/Context.xml file.
    <Resource name="jdbc/TestDB" auth="Container"
                  type="javax.sql.DataSource"
                   driverClassName="oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver"
                  url="jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:dst"
                  username="jagrandb" password="jagrantest" maxActive="20" maxIdle="10"
                  maxWait="-1"/>
    but when i have used this way i got following exception.
    org.apache.tomcat.dbcp.dbcp.PoolingDataSource$PoolGuardConnectionWrapper cannot be cast to oracle.jdbc.OracleConnection
    check link-
    https://forums.oracle.com/thread/2564233
    2. write following line of code apache conf/Server.xml file
    <GlobalNamingResources>
        <!-- Editable user database that can also be used by
             UserDatabaseRealm to authenticate users
        -->
        <Resource name="UserDatabase" auth="Container"
                  type="org.apache.catalina.UserDatabase"
                  description="User database that can be updated and saved"
                  factory="org.apache.catalina.users.MemoryUserDatabaseFactory"
                  pathname="conf/tomcat-users.xml" />
    <Resource name="jdbc/TestDB" auth="Container"
                  type="oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleDataSource"
                  description="User database that can be updated and saved"
                  driverClassName="oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver"
                  factory="oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleDataSourceFactory"
                  url="jdbc:oracle:thin:@//172.31.43.207:1521:dst"
                  username="jagrandb" password="jagrantest" maxActive="20" maxIdle="10"
                  maxWait="-1"   />
      </GlobalNamingResources>
    and add this line in context.xml file inside <context> tag
    <ResourceLink global="jdbc/TestDB" name="jdbc/TestDB" type="oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleDataSource"/>
    but when i have run application i have got following error

  • Creating dynamic database connection (SQL server 2008) from Adf application

    Hello,
    I am creating an ADF Fusion Application. I use Jdev. 11.1.2.3.0 , WebLogic 10.3 and MS SQL server 2008 database. My question is that how can I create a database connection configuration file, now I connect to the database through hard coding, there should be a way to do this with sql server I think.
    my database name is : testDatabase
    my database username is : testUser
    my database password is : testPassword
    Anybody can help me please.
    Thanks,
    Shahe

    Hello Frank,
    The database schema is the same for all the users, but the location of the database differs, for example: I have set the hostname of the database to localhost because the database is installed on the local pc, but to other clients the database is installed on a managed server so in the hostname I should put the server's ip address or name. So I need an external file where I can set these options.
    Thanks,
    Shahe

    Have you tried to call ojdeploy directly instead of using the ojdeploy task?
    I remember that the ant task has had some bugs. You can use the exec task and execute ojdeploy directly. Then you don't even need to include the path elements as you use the jdev project which includes all the information.
    ojdeploy.executable=path_to_your_jdev_installation/jdev/bin/ojdeploy.exe
        <target name="ojdeploy" description="execute ojdeploy">
                <exec executable="${ojdeploy.executable}" dir="."

                    <arg value="-buildfile"/>
                    <arg value="${build.filename}"/>
                </exec>
        </target>

    Please help..

    Hi,
    What is the path in the filesystem for the deployed Wendynpro application in the WAB AS
    If you search for your component under the /usr/<SID> folder
    We have a different version of webdynpro application running in production and non production , what is the process for overwriting the deployed application from one enviorment to another.
    If you have NWDI in place CTS would help in this, else you can deploy your application using sdm.
    in CE you can deploy the application from NWDS.

  • How application module helps for performance improve

    Hi Everyone,
    I have a sample web-application in which I am connecting with single AM instance (AM for database view object), retrieving some information and then close the connection. I am doing this as,
    // making AM instance
    <application module instance> = Configuration.createRootApplicationModule(<AM name>, config);
    // performing operations
    <operation result> = <application module instance>.<access VO with any operation>();
    System.out.println("Get result here");
    // disconnecting AM instance
    <application module instance>.getDBTransaction().disconnect();
    Configuration.releaseRootApplicationModule(<application module instance>, true);
    These are the activities which are performed by a single user. Now, I am doing stress test on same activities. I am testing the same code with 300 concurrent users (using JMeter with JSP URL). These are working fine. Also I checked multiple times, it always working fine.
    Now, I need to do something through which I can improve the performance. I know, I can use AM pool configurations to make this more effective. I have gone through the Oracle documents and checked the same test case with default or recommended pool configurations and I found similar kind of results (there is not much difference).
    On other hand, I tried with 'releaseRootApplicationModule' method with false parameter and found better results in default as well as recommended pool configurations.
    My question is, is the change of pool configurations recommended by Oracle really work? or do I need to concentrate more on coding part with default pool configurations?
    Here, I would like to know, what are the best practice (in code as well as pool configurations), I need to follow if I really want to improve the performance in real scenarios (when our application will access with large no. of concurrent users).
    I really look forward some help from experts. I have given a lot of time on this to know how really we can make our application more effective in terms of performance.
    I really appreciate for your reply.
    Regards,
    Dilip Gupta.

    We added the createRootApplicationModule() API (in the oracle.jbo.client.Configuration class) to simplify acquiring an application module from the pool for brief programmatic manipulation before it is released back to the AM pool.
