Hi
I have installed apex on 10g.
I created one devkoper account.
I access from my own computer where apex is installed as
http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex
I want my devloper to access it as
http://arun:8080/apex from his computer.
Kindly help so that he can work frrom his computer .

I assume you use Oracle XE because it seems URL if for EPG.

Application Deployment from Remote Share

I have a particularly large application I need to deploy and the source changes reasonably frequently so I don't want to add it to normal distribution points within SCCM. By that, I mean I don't want the entire 6GB to be copied up to the SCCM server, I want
it to stay put where it is, and the installer run from the share that it is currently on. Is there any way to achieve that?
And also, is there a way to stop the application downloading to the clients, again just installing from the share. So the app source doesn't get copied to the server or client at all?

Thanks, that sounds like a good compromise! By the way, how long does the client cache installs? i.e. if I went for the full deployment model so all 6gb got put in the DP and then cached to clients, will that 6gb cache stay forever? or can you tell it not
to cache at all?
Also, for a conventional deployment, what happens if the source files (on a different network share originally) get deleted or removed, does the DP continue to deploy the software and only have problems if it needs to update / refresh?

Error starting observer from remote node

Hello all.
I have a two nodes Veritas (not important) cluster with Data Guard. I don't have shared drives, I know!
Now, I had configured an observer in one of the nodes which was working fine but for obvious reasons, I tried to move it to a third node.
This is the error I'm getting and I have no idea how to solve it out. What surprises me is that the wrong "parameter" is not shown even in Metalink.

Hmm. Well, I don't see how would that help. It's the same command I'm running but in silent mode. The result is the same.
What bothers me is the message:
Error: ORA-16591: unknown field "obsv_recn" in document
I couldn't find anything related to that field/parameter on the web. Also, what's the "document" is referring too? fsfo.dat? In that case, is blank in my case.
Again, I've set this up on another server (one of the nodes where the databases resides) and created the configuration "create configuration" and "enable configuration" from there, but not here.
Do I have to remove the configuration and start all over again from this third node?

Installing oracle application express from the database with oracle 11g

I installed oracle 11g release 1 and trying to install oracle APEX from the database with Embedded PL/SQL gateway. The installation guide require grant connect privilege to any host for the APEX_030200 database user, but this schema does not exist in the database...
How to continue the installation of APEX ?

How to get installed application list from a remote system

i am using.. an windows XP OS.. i want to collect the installed application list(in any accessible format) from my near by system(any system in the network). and need to invoke any application (from the list generated) from my system.....
please help me. any ideas.....

Calling an application express interactive report

Application Express is an Oracle tool that can be used to develop rapid application.
It is web based; interactive report is a report that permits you to make some operations on report, you can highlight some records that have certain values, you can dowload data on your machine in pdf, xls,csv format.

Installation of Application Express fails

Hello,
i want to install application express from the companion CD from 10GR2.
The installation of the DB went ok and the DB ist working and accessible.
When i start the installer from the companian CD the DOS-Box appears,
indicating that the universal installer should be startet. Then the box disappears
and nothing else happens.
In the taskmanager there is a javaw.exe for each attempt to start the installation.
It seams that this javaw.exe hangs. I can kill that process.
My system is a W2K server SP4 running on a P4 machine with 1GB RAM
and 200GB HD.
Does anyone know a solution for this problem?

HI,
You can create a new tablespace and use this as the tablespace for the new installation. The upgrade that moves your existing apex objects (workspaces, applications etc) from the old install will still work because it will refer to existing db objects (tables etc) by their names independent of their storage characteristics, just like you would for any other database application.

Is your install of Application Express 3.0.1 or higher?
Oracle XE ships with Application Express 2.1.0.00.39. (You can upgrade Application Express to the latest version if you want).

Print a report from Application Express direct to a CUPS Printer

Hi all, I'm new to this technology, is it possible to print a report from Application Express directly to a CUPS Printer? Can someone tell me in laymans terms how to do it? I find the terminology and documentation less than helpful.

BI Publisher handles submitting reports directly to a CUPS printer. However, the APEX integration doesn't currently integrate with that portion of BI Publisher.
Here's an options:
Use the Java API of BI Publisher to build a custom Java program that would do this for you. Delivering to CUPS is part of the Java API.

I understand how to make a form on the Appointment table but given how that table contains lots of primary keys (numbers) it's not preferable for the user to have to deal with that.
Can I have some help with linking the two and making it functional?

Any table can have only ONE Primary Key.

Running LV application from remote panel which measures FP through different LAN

My LabVIEW application is running in a PC and it takes measurements from the FieldPoint modules which are connected via the FP-1601 network module.
I want to view and execute the application from another PC using remote panel option. The master PC has two LAN connections, one seperate connection for the FieldPoint module and the second one to connect with other PCs.
But the application returns error while initializing the FP modules when executed from remote panel.
Will the application be able to communicate and take measurements from the FieldPoint module in this case? Please explain.

In principle this I believe this is a TCP/IP routing issue.
If your fieldpoint unit is connected to one card lets say
Card 01 Host 10.0.0.1 255.255.255.0 ---- Fieldpoint 10.0.0.2 255.255.255.0
Card 02 Host 168.95.0.1 255.255.0.0 ---- Lan 168.95.x.x 255.255.0.0
The routing in the host takes care of which card is used for which network segment.
My guess is that you have not seperated the network segments as shown above.
Is this correct ?

Creating or copying application express users from development environment

Hope someone can answer my question soon.
I am kind of new to the application express development and to Oracle database too ( about 8 month). I developed an application on development environment at my work. Now it's time to deploy this application to test and production environment. This application is secured so I had an ACL page were I setup 2 users that they can view and edit data, and I setup myself as an admin for this application.
I succsessfully deployed the application on the test and production environment but I cannot login and not other users. How do I setup or to copy same users from Development to production environment.
I am using apex 3.0.1 and database 10g.
on Development I have workspace called development and the schema is DEV. For production I have a workspace called production and the schema called prod. So I am dealing with different 2 workspaces and 2 different schemas but one database instance.

Hello,
APEX has a utility to export the workspace and the users. In the application, go to export/import --> export --> workspace users (this is not the default view, and you’ll need to choose it). This will generate a SQL script you can import into the source instance.
In general, it’s best to keep the same environment in the development (test) and production instances – The same workspace ID, name, and application ID. These are pre-condition to be allowed to import single page/components between the instances. Otherwise you will have to import the entire application, each time you need to update the application.
In case you can’t maintain the same environment in your instances, you’ll need to manually edit the exported script. If the workspace already exist, you need to delete the ‘Workspace’ section. Then you’ll need to edit the user details, setting the default schema correctly.

Application Express - Remote Connection

Hi,
I just signed up to Oracle Application Express - I want to use the Oracle XE as a temporary development server. I want to connect the DB remotely so that I can develop the DB. Plus I want my outsourced developer to be able to connect ot develop the application.
When this is done, I'll move the app in house to our production server.
I was hoping to get a connection string apex.oracle.com.XXXX that I could use with a remote IDE (toad).
Can i do this here? if not where?

Sure it's an official function of the SQL Server Express Edition.
By default it's only disabled by security reasons, because in common the Express Edition is used for smaller applications running on one machine.

How to access and list remote database objects in HTMLDB - V2 (Application Express).
I can query using Public DB Link with SQL.

It is not possible. To create reports or forms on remote objects, create local views of the remote objects.
