Application module AppModuleImpl_1 is not root app module but has no parent

Dear all
every time i am trying to run any script on appmodule level i am getting this error Application module AppModuleImpl_1 is not a root app module but has no parent
what is wrong i write every time in my code that causes this error ?
Many Thanks

This is the method inside the backing bean :
    public String cb2_action() {
            DemoImpl demo = new DemoImpl();
        demo.prop(getLocid().toString(),getHoldesc().toString());
return null;
}This method "prop" is written inside the AM called "Demo" :
    public void prop(String locid, String holdesc) {
CallableStatement st = null ;
            try {
            StringBuffer str = new StringBuffer();
            str.append(" BEGIN ");
            str.append(" test_package.prop( ");
            str.append("       locid           => :1, ");
            str.append("       holdesc         => :2  ");
            str.append("    ); ");
            str.append(" END; ");
          st =getDBTransaction().createCallableStatement(str.toString(), 1);
              st.setInt(1, Integer.parseInt(locid));
            st.setString(2, holdesc);
            st.execute();
        } catch (SQLException sqle) {
            // TODO: Add catch code
            sqle.printStackTrace();
        } catch (NumberFormatException nfe) {
            // TODO: Add catch code
            nfe.printStackTrace();
        }

    This is to follow up on my answered question on rootAN substitution
    Re: "login session has expired" after am substitution
    I am working on an OAF extension.
    I have a new LOV region. I extended (to be substituted) the seeded VO, call it xxVO. And I have three custom methods using this xxVO that are called from processFormRequest of my controller which extends the seeded controller.
    So putting these methods in rootAM and AM substitution didn't work as some folks pointed out.
    So I created xxAM (extends root AM), put xxVO in xxAM’s data model and put my methods in xxAM, set this xxAM as AMDefinition for my custom LOV region.
    In my controller I do
    OAApplicationModule xxAM = new xxprg.oracle.apps.icx.por.req.server.xxprgRequisitionAMImpl();
    But I am getting
    => oracle.apps.fnd.framework.OAException: oracle.jbo.InvalidOwnerException: JBO-25301: Application module is not a root app module but has no parent
    at
    xxAM.invokeMethod("handleChangeRequester", parameters);
    I found a few posts on the same topic. One advise was to not instantiate ‘new’ AM but do something like this
    Xo2cAcctOviewExtAMImpl amExt = (Xo2cAcctOviewExtAMImpl )pageContext.getApplicationModule(webBean);
    In this example I am confused about the fact that ‘getApplicationModule(webBean);’ which is used in the signature of the processFormRequest will return a ‘rootAM’, is this correct?
    There was another workaround mentioned in other posts to not use xxAM at all but build a class to mimic an xxAM passing all needed values that custom methods require. In which case how(or better where) do I instantiate xxVO since now xxVO won’t be part of any AM data model?
    Can someone please clarify.
    Thank you
    Anatoliy

    Pratap,
    Thank you for the response.
    The reason I need to use new xxCO on the page is this.
    Seeded page CheckoutLinesPG.
    It has advanced table on it where every column has it's one external region.
    The new LOV region xxRN is put on a page also under this table new column.
    1. When a requester (seeded region on the seeded page) is changed then my xxLOV should reflect the change and be populated according to what is selected in the Requester LOV.
    2. When one-time address is added (another seeded region on the seeded page) my xxLOV should be disabled, when one time address taken out - enabled again.
    So xxCO should apply to the whole page.
    The VO behind advanced table PoRequisitionLinesVO is extended with 2 additional attributes and will substitute, the new xxVO is under xxAM data model.
    All works fine with my methods in the seeded RequisitionAM which I get a handle to in the xxCO. But I don;t know how to get the handle to the xxAM if I put my methods there.
    Thanks,
    Anatoliy
    P.S. just fyi - I know it is not the recommended approach but what I did for now I put all calls into the controller - in the controller I can get a handle to root AM, through that I am getting a handle to xxVO which (!) is substituted during runtime with my xxVO. But if you can figure out how to get a handle to xxAM in my case it will be great.

    Code that application uses to call other application module:_

    Action: If this application has added custom business component classes, it may be that the application code is attempting to access a child application module before it is fully initialized. If this is not the case, this error probably represents some internal error in BC4J framework, in which case contact BC4J Technical Support.
    How can i ensure that child application module is already initialized?

  • Restrict live application, how to? not to restrict users but the publishers

    restrict live application, how to? not to restrict users but the publishers

    Hi,
    So there are several things that you can do using Server side actionscript.
    1) You can restrict the number of publishers. You can keep a count of number of publishers via the application.onPublish() function and disconnect users after a particular count is reached. See more about the application class here : http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FlashMediaServer/3.5_SS_ASD/WS5b3ccc516d4fbf351e63e3d11a11afc9 5e-7edf.html
    2) You can restrict publishers based on the type of client using the clientObj.agent property. See more about the client class here : http://livedocs.adobe.com/flashmediaserver/3.0/hpdocs/help.html?content=00000258.html
    3) You can use combinations of these.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,

  • Could not load app module after upgrade to R12.1.3

    Hello,
    We migrated from 11.5.10.2 to R12.1.3 and I have a small custom app on my hands which worked fine in 11i but I am getting
    "Could not load application module 'xx.oracle.apps.ak.xxgl.MapAM'" message.
    I checked that the MapAMImpl.class is there (classes are under $XBOL_TOP/java) and permissions are OK. The xml page loaded into the DB has a correct reference to the module as
    amDefName="xx.oracle.apps.ak.xxgl.MapAM"
    and I am running of other options I should check. Appreciate any feedback.
    Thank you

    Syed,
    Thank you for the reply.
    Were you following some documentation from Oracle related to R12? What was that?
    I guess you can place your class files anywhere but just update the CLASSPATH accordingly? Is it correct or wrong? Because I am hearing different opinions and some people talk about XBOL_TOP, some mention JAVA_TOP etc...
    And in your case all you did was place the class files where you said and appended the entry to the CLASSPATH, bounced apache, correct?
    Please let me know.
    Thank you
    Anatoliy

  • Not a significant problem, but has anyone noticed iTunes opening itself, or suddenly playing when dormant?

    The title asks the questions.

    Found the solution to the problem. Probably not the best fix, but it works.
    I have upgraded to Snow Leopard, but I don't think it changes anything...
    There is ONLY 1 WAY to configure the AX to make it work as we expect.
    You must check the option "Create a new WiFi network", even if what seems natural is to check "Connect to an existing network".
    Then, name your network, like for instance "MatFromParisse Network", select the security level you want and password.
    If required, you select "Connection via Ethernet", EVEN IF NO ETHERNET PLUG connected.
    IPv4 configuration: "Via DHCP".
    This all look like you are going straight in the wall and doesn't seem natural...
    Then on the computer you are using iTunes on, select the network you just created (like "MatFromParisse Network"), instead of your usual network.
    AirTunes will play, but it seems you no more access the internet. When you want to surf the internet again, switch back to your normal WiFi network. It seems that it's not possible to listen to music and surf at the same time.
    Not professional, but it works.
    I have spent 50 hours in total to make this work, the equivalent of 5 working days. I sell my working days 2,000€/day, so I value my lost time to 10,000€ to make this stupid thing work. I wish not to thank Apple for the complete lack of support (hotline doesn't even know what means error -6710).

  • Java Error Application module is not a root app module ...

    Hi
    I am calling from APPAmImpl.java program's Method from APPPhaseListener.Java (on pageload) program.
    PriceMgmtModuleImpl pmImpObj = new PriceMgmtModuleImpl();
    call is going to the method inwhich I am making DB call with below statment
    st = getDBTransaction().createCallableStatement(stmt,0);
    Application is throwing error here. Is it problem with object initialization? Any pointer on this issue.

    Hi,
    don't see if your AM is getting initialized at all. So how do you create the reference to the AM?

  • Can not access root app module in nested one

    I am using Jdeveloper 11g R2 (11.1.2.3) & Weblogic 10.3.5.0
    I have a root application module and few nested application modules nested under root one in my ADF application
    I have few common methods under root application module Impl class and try to access them in nested Impl classes
    like this (This code is in nestedAppModuleImpl class):
    RootAppModuleImpl root = (RootAppModuleImpl)someViewObject.getDBTransaction().getRootApplicationModule();
    root.doSomething();
    when I execute above code this excepton is thrown:
    oracle.jbo.server.ApplicationModuleImpl cannot be cast to mypackage.RootAppModuleImpl
    Any comment or workaround?
    What is the proper solution?
    Regards
    Mohsen

    Mohsen, there is something terribly wrong with your code.
    //(This code is in nestedAppModuleImpl class):
    RootAppModuleImpl root = (RootAppModuleImpl)someViewObject.getDBTransaction().getRootApplicationModule();
    root.doSomething();doesn't make sense. Does doSomething() really return an RootAppModuleImpl? You can access the root application module from the nested application module by
    RootAppModuleImpl root = (RootAppModuleImpl)getRootApplicationModule();If you get a class cast exception it means that there is something wrong with your RooAppModuleImpl. Does it extend ApplicationModuleImpl? If yes the cast should be possible.
    Is the root application module of the type RootAppModuleImpl? only then you can access the common methods after getting the root application module.
    the next method
    private ViewObject getAccountExistsView(DBTransaction t) {
    ApplicationModule root = t.getRootApplicationModule();
    ViewObject vo = root.findViewObject("MemberExistsView");
    if (vo == null) {
    vo = root.createViewObject("MemberExistsView","model.MemberExistsView");
    return vo;
    }doesn't make sense to me. Where does this method reside? in the RootAppModuleImpl? if yes, why do you call getRootApplicationModule? You are in the root application Module. I can' comment on the createViewObject you are calling, but my feeling is that you don't need it either. The view you are creating should be there already if your application module are setup correctly.
    And you are right, you should not call createRootApplicationModule if it is not needed. In your case it's not!

  • C4650 Will only print black from the internet. MS Word and PS will not print in black but has color.

    Before you think I just haven't tried anything, let me run you down with the whole lot:
    -HP PhotoSmart C4650
    -Windows Vista
    -Problem: My printer won't print in black --but-- this only goes for Microsoft applications it seems. If I have a page of text in black, when printing from MS Word, the page comes out blank, however the printer is actually "printing" back and forth. IF, however I print from my browser, from email, or a webpage, picture, google docs, etc, black prints *just fine.* So far this holds true for both MS Word and PhotoShop CS5. Issue: Black ink simply doesn't print from any program other than a browser.
    -NO. The cartridge isn't empty. NO. It's not incompatible. NO. The cartridge head isn't dry and I am not going to soak it in water. This is a new cartridge. It's the official HP brand.
    I've done a search and I've found that a few people seem to have this "only print from the internet" problem, however none of these was solved. The only advice that an HP support member gave to one of them is to "install XP service pack 2" however.. I am not running XP. A few other people get the opposite issue where they can only print color from the internet and not from the computer's applications.
    I don't know much about printers but it sounds like some kind of driver issue. Yes. I've already searched for, uninstalled and reinstalled drivers. Whenever I have to print something, I now try to open it up in my firefox just so I can be able to print black. It's quite the hassle. Almost seems like some kind of ploy to cause people to buy new ink cartridges when it's not really empty.
    -Yes, I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the printer.
    -Updated my windows (although idk how that would help. But I know it's going to be a suggestion anyway.)
    Is there any known fix or should i chuck it off the balcony and go get a lexmark?

  • HT1212 How do i restore my iphone 4 when it does not have current IOS and i have forgotten passcode.  Not showing in itunes but has connect to itunes logo on screen???

    I previously had an iPhone 4 which has since been put away in a drawer now that I have an iPhone 5.  I would like to give my iphone 4 to someone else to use but could not remember my passcode - have tried a few times (I believe I have one more try before it gets disabled - so I have stopped trying).  Read somewhere that you can just restore your phone which works for me as I wanted to clear it anyway.  When I connect my phone to itunes and clicked on restore it said update and restore which I clicked on and left it to do its work.  However, a while later an error code popped up saying that it could not update or back up the phone as the phone was locked .  Now my phone just has the itunes logo on it but when I connect the phone to the computer and I manually open itunes, my phone is not recognised.
    What can I do?  Please help!!!

  • Tbird was synching Notes from my Ipad but has stopped. Any one know how to restart this?

    The notes showed up as a mail folder. I loved this and inadvertently dumped some of my notes yesterday while getting a new Iphone. Old Notes are still in thunderbird, fortunately, but i have lost the recent ones and would really like to have them.

    These notes (and i really have no idea what you talking about. I have Zero apple experience so lead me along where I need it) appeared as a mail folder. Is this a mail folder in an IMAP mail account, such as Yahoo messenger messages show as a folder in Yahoo mail? If that is the case, it will have nothing to do with your iphone as such and everything to do with your IMAP server and the subscription and synchronisation settings.
    What mail provider? Was it a mail folder in an IMAP account?

    Hello:
    I have a dashboard application with 6 tabs. On each tab is a bounded task flow from an ADFLib. Note: each BTF has its own App Module.
    In the Master DashBoard App,  the ADFLibs BTF's are dropped as regions in each tab. The Master App has its own application module and I want to nest each of the BTF App Modules under the single App Module in the Master app.  The reason is that each tab of the application currently creates a seperate DB connection. I want the Master App to only create one DB connection for the entire application.
    In the resource pallet, I can see the App Modules from the seperate ADFLibs, and I have added these App Modules to the Master Project, but the newly added AM does not display under the Master App Module for me to nest. (in App Module ->- Data Model --> Application Module Instances)
    How can I nest multiple AM's from ADFLibs under a single Master App Module?  ( the AM from ADFLibs do not display in Application Module Instances in the Master App)
    Thanks

    Have I added the application Modules to the Master Model?
    Answer:
    In the Master, In the Resource Pallet, I highlighted the Application Module in the ADFLibs (from Subsystem), right clicked and selected Add to Project. But this did not make the App Module display in the Master App Module Application Module Instances. (Note: my subsystem adflibs are deployed from ViewController with dependency on Model. I tried to hightlight App Module above and add to Model Project of Master in above) This caused WebLogic to fail to deploy.
    What is the correct way to add an App Module from an ADFLIb subsystem and add the AM to the Master App so it displays in the Master App Module Application Module Instances?
    All subsystems should use the same connection and all subsystems are set to No Controller Transaction and Share data controls with calling task flow is checked for all subsystem.
    More testing revealed:
    One thing to note:   each of my subsystem, a deployment profile was created on the ViewController with dependency on its Model project.  When I added the subsystem project above to add the AM, I adding the App Module from the adflib to the Model project of the master. This caused WebLogic to fail during deploy.
    So I tried another test. In the subsystem, I created another deployment profile, on just the Model project and created an adflib. I added this new adflib to the Model project of the Master. The App Module from the subsystem now shows up in the Application Module Instances. (which I selected and moved over to the right to nest under Master App Module.  This time the application ran, but still have one connection per tab.)
    Do you create ADFLibs with a deployment profile on the VC with dependancy to the Model Project?  Or do you create two seperate ADFLibs for subsystems, one for VC project only and one for Model project only?
    Thanks for the help.

  • OC4J & nested app. modules

    I've successfully deployed my server BC4J project on Orion EJB server but I am not able to call
    top_app._module thatalready_exists.findApplicationModule( "AuditModule" );
    to find a nested module. I get this exception:
    Looking bean sess_iiop://thisServer/:thisSession//BAFIR/ftr.audit.AuditModule
    javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: :thisSession
    If I try to create this nested "AuditModule" as a single topmost one it creates it, but as a nested it does not. This module is indicated in the app. module wizzard to be nested.
    The project has been tested in local mode and did work ok.
    What am I doing wrong ?

    Anyone?
