Applications in Openbox's rc.xml file

Hey there
I'm trying to configure an application in rc.xml Openbox's file and I would be glad for any help.
I've got Tilda terminal and, following Wiki's instructions to get Tilda always below other running things, I typed
<application name="tilda">
<layer>below</layer>
</application>
I've also checked this code with instructions in rc.xml file. I've tried putting these lines in various places,but they just wouldn't work. If the program is on fullscreen it's okay,but if it's smaller and I get the cursor away, the program's window disappears.
So my question is- where or how to insert mentioned code in rc.xml file so Tilda is always below other applications running? (I would post the file itself but as for now I'm unable to copy it, so I hope someone just knows the method )
Any help will be appreciated...

Thanks for help, though it doesn't change anything (maybe I put the code in wrong place of <applications> section? As for now it's right below tag <applications>, so it looks like this (on yellow background is the code suggested by Wiki):
<applications>
<application name="Tilda">
<layer>below</layer>
</application>
<!--
# and there goes a wall full of instructions and then there is:
-->
</applications>
x.X As for your question, I run it just on the laptop. I got it in Openbox's autostart file (which works) and I wonder whether it would work for if you do the same thing and then switch to another screen.

  • Setting up a Form Application to write to an XML file on a local computer

    First, I'm using Flash CS3, and Actionscript3.
    I'm trying to set up a data collection form that will save
    the results to a file that can later be imported into a database.
    This is going to be in a Kiosk at a tradeshow and it won't have
    internet access, so I can't send it to an online PHP or ASP, etc,
    script.
    The form also has several screens, so i thought I'd try to
    use the Form Application (I know I can only have one frame on the
    timeline when using this flash template with the data components).
    I want to try and write the data to a XML file. All the information
    I've found is for importing data from an XML file to a web server
    rather than sending data to an XML file on a local computer.
    I'm trying to use the XML connector,and an XML file that
    resides in the same folder as my Flash file, but so far I've had
    very little luck writing to that XML file. Do I need to set up a
    dataset to send the form data to that will then send the data to an
    XML Connector component that will then send the data to the XML
    file. Should I use LoadVars instead, and if I do, will I have to
    write to a script, or can it also write to an XML file.
    If any one has a better idea to do this, please let me know.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    Flash itself has no filewriting capabilities other then the
    SharedObject
    stuff.
    But why can't you call a php script? You could install
    apache, PHP and
    MYSQL on the computer running the Flash app and get it all
    into the
    database in one go.
    Otherwise you either need to get going with AIR (Adobe
    Integrated
    Runtime), or use a wrapper application like Adobe Director
    (which has
    tons of ways to write to file through it's plethora of
    Xtras.) Director
    may be 'a bit' hard on your budget if you only use it for
    this purpose
    though.
    The XMLSocket is for connections to some server, local or
    remote, not to
    a file.

    HI Ravi,
    Insert a portalIFRame or IFrame with width 100%.
    Create a context variable (Say xmlFile) of type String and bind to Source property of PoratlIFrame .
    Put the xmlfile inside Project\src\mimes\Components\Package\
    Let the xml file name be Config1.xml.
    Write the following code inside wdDoinit()
    wdContext.currentContextElement().setPortalFrame(WDURLGenerator.getWebResourceURL(wdComponentAPI.getComponent().getDeployableObjectPart(),"Config1.xml"));

  • XML file for loading different classes in application ?

    Hi,
    I want to configure a small application ( a simulator ) using a XML file. The XML file determines the classes, whih should be loaded, and initialize the variables (values set in the XML files). I want to have different modules (same functionality, different implementations) and which module is loaded, is determined by the XML file ( a scenario ).
    I am not sure, how can I implement it ? Should I use Java Beans with XMLBeans ? Is there a standard way for doing this ? I will appreciate any advice.
    Thanks in advance.
    Bobi

    I used the java class loading capability using the following code snippet
    public void loadPlugin(String entrypoint, String name)
              Plugin plugin;
              Class c;
              try
                   c = Class.forName(entrypoint);
                   plugin = (Plugin)c.newInstance();
                   plugin.setName(name);
                   plugin.setConnection(DBHandler.getConnection());
                   plugin.setParameters(_pluginReader.readParameters(name));
                   if (plugin != null && _plugins != null)
                        _plugins.add(plugin);
              catch (Exception e)
                   e.printStackTrace();
         }I have to add that I have an interface called Plugin that specifies the above mentioned method stubs.

  • [Solved] Openbox's rc.xml error "Extra content at the end of document"

    I have a rather silly problem with Openbox.
    I'm not a programming genius so, for me, dealing with XML is a pain but I usually manage to get OB's menus and other docs to work. Ive been banging my head into a wall of xml trying to add my own entry to OpenBox's rc.xml file.  All I want to add is an Xfce terminal centred on my Twinview desktop.  I've done it in the past but right now I can't get the rc.xml file to work.  Whenever I re-configure OpenBox I get the following message spit out at me:
    Extra content at the end of document on line ###
    So far, this is what I've attempted to get this to work:
    - I have tried recopying a new rc.xml from /etc/xdg/openbox to my home directory's ~/.config/openbox.  I was assuming I'd botched it entirely and started over from the beginning.
    - I have cut/copy/pasted the commented paragraph, above my entry, with the same co-ordinates and with the "force position" set to "yes."
    -I've googled this error but I only found one or two semi-relevant hits (from this forum no less!)  Unfortunately I did not find a fix to the issue or a reason as to why this error crops up
    I know that it's probably something that is easily missed but I honestly can't see it.  I'm hoping someone on the forum will have run across this issue before and had it fixed.  Below is a copy of my current rc.xml.

    You can use whatever tool you prefer - for someone already using emacs, emacs is a natural choice. Simple, easy to use online tools exist e.g. http://schneegans.de/sv/
    Just upload the file in question ('Validate by file upload' option) and click 'Validate':

    The HTTP response 504 means that the server, acting as a gateway, has not received a response from an upstream server in the time it expected.
    I think this is problem is due to the remote server that receives the XML and takes too long to return a response to the local application that posted the XML.
    Try HttpClient and set the timeout variable of the HttpClient instance used.
    Here http://svn.apache.org/viewvc/jakarta/commons/proper/httpclient/trunk/src/examples/PostXML.java?revision=480424&view=markup

    NB: HttpClient > setTimeout method is deprecated. See : http://jakarta.apache.org/commons/httpclient/apidocs/index.html for an alternative

  • How to rename the XML file generated during payment run

    Hi,
    We have a requirement to rename the XML file during payment run, format some fields of XML file and upload it onto Application server with the new XML file name. All these activities need to be performed during payment run F110.
    Please let know if there is any User exit or Enahancement to achieve these functionalities.
    Thanks !
    Regards,
    Ravinder

    Hi,
    We have achieved the second functionality also i.e. populating the additional nodes or custom nodes of an extended tree.
    This is what we have done...
    We have copied the standard exit FM: DMEE_EXIT_TEMPLATE_EXTEND_ABA into a custom one and assigned it to each (custom) node in 'Source' tab. Line item text FPAYP-SGTXT will not be returned via this FM, so we fetched it explicitly from BSEG table using the input FPAYP-DOC2R (this field will have the company code, document number, fiscal year and item no, all concatenated).
    Thanks,
    /Ravinder

  • UCCX Reading XML file hosted on IIS web server

    hi guys,
    i have a customer on CCX 8.5 environment and they have a .NET application running on an IIS web server. As part of this .NET application, the app produce an XML file.
    My questions is
    "Can CCX read XML file that is hosted externally on IIS web server rather than parsing the XML file on CCX document repository?"
    All of the examples of XML parsing points to the XML file in document repository.
    Any pointers to links and documentation/example on how to do this would be greatly appreciated.
    If this is not achievable, if you could kindly suggest a different way of doing it too would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Daniel

    Hi,
    to be quite honest with you, I don't know anything about Sharepoint - so I am afraid I cannot help you with its XML editing capabilities. XML is just a well formed text file that follows some logical rules, so no additional application is required for editing, in fact, I always encourage everybody to use Notepad/Textpad/ to read and edit XML files. Of course, if it's not possible, you will find a great number of various user friendly XML editing applications.
    A UCCX script will normally access an XML using the Create URL Document step and then, using the Get XML Document data step with the help of an XPath expression, will filter out the necessary information from the XML document.
    The protocols used are standard and well known, including HTTP and XPath (and XML itself). So it does not really matter what kind of HTTP server serves the XML file, IIS is just an option.
    Examples may be found in the Scripting guides for your particular UCCX version.

  • Reading external xml files from a jar

    Hi,
    I am trying to read an xml file from a jar (which is not present inside the jar ) .
    I am passing the file name as a string (like C:/folder/filename) to the SAXBuilder but it throwing
    unknown protocol: c error.
    i tried using an url , tried using a relative path but to no use.
    Need help in this regard urgently.
    TIA,
    Regards,
    Harsha

    Hi,
    Actually, my application needs to read two xml files , parse it, perform some operation and write
    the result to an output file.
    The names of the two xml files i mentioned, are specified in a properties file as absolute paths. (I even tried converting them to URIs)
    The xml files are in the same directory as the jar ( i dont know if it should matter as i am giving the absolute path).
    The main class reads the names of the files and passes the names as strings to the SAXBuilder.
    This is where i am getting an exception.
    Going by what you said, is it not possible for a java class to read a fie outside of the jar ? Is there no way to do this ? And right now i am not sure of how to go about this or if there's any work around . Any help would be appreciated.
    Kindly reply at the earliest
    TIA,
    Harsha

  • Best Practices for Accessing the Configuration data Modelled as XML File in

    Hi,
    I refer the couple of blof posts/Forum threads on How to model and access the Configuration data as XML inside OSB.
    One of the easiest and way is to
    Re: OSB: What is best practice for reading configuration information
    Another could be
    Uploading XML data as .xq file (Creating .xq file copy paste all the Configuration as XML )
    I need expert answers for following.
    1] I have .xsd file which is representing the Configuration data. Structure of XSD is
    <FrameworkConfig>
    <Config type="common" key="someKey">proprtyvalue</Config>
    <FrameworkConfig>
    2] As my project will move from one env to another the property-value will change according to the Environment...
    For Dev:
    <FrameworkConfig>
    <Config type="common" key="someKey">proprtyvalue_Dev</Config>
    <FrameworkConfig>
    For Stage :
    <FrameworkConfig>
    <Config type="common" key="someKey">proprtyvalue_Stage</Config>
    <FrameworkConfig>
    3] Let say I create the following Folder structure to store the Configuration file specific for dev/stage/prod instance
    OSB Project Folder
    |
    |---Dev
    |
    |--Dev_Config_file.xml
    |
    |---Stage
    |
    |--Stahe_Config_file.xml
    |
    |---Prod
    |
    |-Prod_Config_file.xml
    4] I need a way to load these property file as xml element/variable inside OSb message flow.?? I can't use XPath function fn:doc("URL") coz I don't know exact path of XMl on deployed server.
    5] Also I need to lookup/model the value which will specify the current server type(Dev/Stage/prod) on which OSB MF is running. Let say any construct which will act as a Global configuration and can be acccessible inside the OSb message flow. If I get the vaalue for the Global variable as Dev means I will load the xml config file under the Dev Directory @runtime containing key value pair for Dev environment.
    6] This Re: OSB: What is best practice for reading configuration information
    suggest the designing of the web application which will serve the xml file over the http protocol and getting the contents into variable (which in turn can be used in OSB message flow). Can we address this problem without creating the extra Project and adding the Dependencies? I read configuration file approach too..but the sample configuration file doesn't show entry of .xml file as resources
    Hope I am clear...I really appreciate your comments and suggestion..

    If you can enforce some sort of naming convention for the transport endpoint for this proxy service across the environments, where the environment name is part of the endpoint you may able to retrieve it from $inbound in the message pipeline.
    eg. http://osb_host/service/prod/service1 ==> Prod and http://osb_host/service/prod/service2 ==> stage , then i think $inbound/ctx:transport/ctx:uri can give you /service/prod/service1 or /service/stage/service1 and applying appropriate xpath functions you will be able to extract the environment name.
    Chk this link for details on $inbound/ctx:transport : http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13159_01/osb/docs10gr3/userguide/context.html#wp1080822

    is that some way to solve this problem ?
    Thanks for your help

    I met a OutOfMemorry exception when I parse a xml
    l file (20M) in my application(I extract data in xml
    file for building my application data)...Rule of thumb for parsing XML: the memory you need is about 10 times the size of the XML file. So in your case you need 200 MB of free memory.
    , but I found
    that it take long time(for 2 more minutes) even just
    searching the xml file , because my application is
    viewed by web page...Then you need to redesign your application. Parsing 20 megabytes of XML for every request is -- as you can see -- impractical. Sorry I can't suggest how, since I have no idea what your application is.

  • Working with multiple faces-config.xml files

    I would organize the menu definitions of my application in different faces-config.xml files. I would also put the label in different properties files.
    The SRDemo application uses a unique properties file for the menu used in the el expression from the faces-config.xml.
    Is it possible to have the same approach with not only one faces-config.xml file but has many faces-config.xml i want for my application.
    If yes does the binding name to be different or may be the same for each file ?

    We still have a litlle problem we don't find the reason. May be you can help us.
    The second menu level never appear in the menu list. The menu list appear as empty.
    The menu bar seem to be correct. We put twice the same model tree to be sure it was working well. Both menu appears. It is correct.

  • How to parse the xml file using servlet

    My scenario is like this:
    <b>FILE-->XI-->J2EE Application</b>
    XI sends the xml file to j2ee application. My servlet receives the file in HTTPRequest string.
    How to parse that file using servlets.I should get the xml file as it is and should be displayed in the browser.
    Can anyone please help me with code, its urgent.
    Please help me!

    Download this java code
    http://java.sun.com/webservices/jaxp/dist/1.1/docs/tutorial/sax/work/Echo02.java
    in your servlet code you can write
    public void doPost(req,resp){
    DefaultHandler handler = new Echo02();
    handler.parse(req.getInputStream());
    Offcourse you will need to modify the code of Echo02 class a bit to suit your requirement which would finally retrun you a string and you can then write it using
    respose.getWriter().write(responseString);

  • Web.XML files

    Hi there, i am new at working with the Java dev tools, but i really like them.
    my question is regarding the Sun Java Studio Enterprise 8.
    I am getting a bit annoyed due to the fact, the everytime enter the studio(after closing it), i find that every "web.xml" file in my open projects are changed, and always with the same values.
    Does anyone here has had the same problem? And if so, how to overcome it?
    thank you in advance!

    example: when i create a new web application, the JSE8 creates web.xml file with this information:
    <listener>
    <listener-class>com.sun.portal.common.logging.impl.LoggerServletContextListenerImpl</listener-class>
    </listener>
    <listener>
    <listener-class>com.sun.portal.container.portlet.impl.CacheManagerContextListenerImpl</listener-class>
    </listener>
    Since that i don't need the listenner, i remove it from the Web.xml file, and save (ctrl+s), then i go on with my work, and after finishing, i close JSE8.
    the next time i open JSE8, it creates again exactly like the first time, with the listener> text .
    I have tryed to after saving mark the web.xml file as read-only to prevent , but then when i start up JSE8 again, it gives an error.
    Can anyone help me with this?
