Apply Patch in EBS R.12.1.1

Hello All,
I have some issues in applying application patch. my ebs version is R.12.1.1 Linux x86 and patches will be apply are *9055234*, *9366099*, and *10364346*.
I follow steps to apply patch from Hussein Sawwan. but I face some problem.
Steps to apply a patch:
- Stop all application services (keep the database and the database listener up and running)
- Download the patch from Metalink
- Copy the patch file to any directory (i.e. /u04/patches) --- if there is not any patch directory so I should be create a new patch directory below $/u0/. is't true?
- As 'applmgr' do the following:
- Source the environment file --- I found 2 file .env are APPSVIS_oradev.env and VIS_oradev.env in /u0/oracle/VIS/apps/apps_st/appl/ which one is true?
- $ cd /u04/patches
- Type 'unzip <patch_number>.zip' --- pacth file which has been downloaded are *.xml* type not *.zip* type. so what should I do?
- cd <patch_number>
- Type 'adpatch'
- When it prompts you to enter the patch driver, type 'u<patch_number>.drv' --- where I found patch driver? is patch driver including in path file?
Any suggestion please?? All answrers will be helpful..

Our problem is a bit later in the process, but very similar to the OP. The records do exist in AD_TRACKABLE_ENTITIES, but reflect the incorrect codelevel because they were not updated due to the ORA- error

XML Publisher 5.6.0 patch on EBS 11.5.10.2 with 10G DB

Hi All,
I am trying to apply XML Publisher 5.6.0 patch to get the Executable XDODTEXE.
I followed the meta link ID 337999.1.
According to the ID I applied 4561451 patch and followed post patching steps.
After applying patch I am able to see the XML publisher version in the database but I am not able to open EBS login page.I checked in access.log,error.log.I didn't get any specific error.
Please guide me which document I have to follow to get Executable XDODTEXE.

Error while applying Patch 4960210

Hi,
I am trying to integrate oracle apps with Oracle EBS 12R and following Doc Id:376811.1 from metalink.
I have successfully installed patch 5983637, but when I try to install patch 4960210 on it, even though I stopped all the services on app server, i get the following error:
Certain files which need to be reinstalled by oracle universal installer are being used by one or more applications.
Please close any running applications before continuing.
NOTE: when I upgraded the existing OracleAS 10.1.2.0.2 Infrastructure to Oracle Identity Management 10g (10.1.4.0.1) I created a new oracle home and installed my components there (unknowingly), so not sure if this causing problem.

Now we are connected to R12 application.
Applied patch AD.A 4502962.
Run the American English upgrade patch driver
cd $AU_TOP/patch/115/driver
adpatch options=nocopyportion,nogenerateportion
Please enter the name of your AutoPatch driver file: u4440000.drv
This patch doesn't have readme it will be under cd $AU_TOP/patch/115/driver

Is there any message in alert log? Did you try to restart workers?There is no (error/warning/abnormal) message reported in alert log. Yes, it "Restarted" but again "Failed"

Apply the patch on the database tier first then on the application tier.
Do not forget to 'Enable Maintenance Mode' from adadmin before applying the patch. Once you apply the patch successfully, 'Disable Maintenance Mode' from adadmin.
And, always follow the steps in the patch README file.
For database patches, follow the steps in the patch README file and apply the patch using opatch as oracle user.

GumasYou need to apply the patch driver u3944888.drv using adpatch like any other patch.
Just make sure you apply all the patches under "Prerequisite Updates" before applying the patch.

can any one tell me the stratge to apply patch on the EBS? OAM, OEM, or AUTOpatch, or just foolow the read me?

Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and Oracle Applications Manager (OAM) are powerful tools that enable you to manage and monitor Oracle Database and Applications respectively (OAM complements the features of the OEM). With respect to patching, OAM let you:
- Determine which patches have been applied to a system
- Examine the patched files on a system, and identify all the patches that altered a given file
The Patch Wizard tool built into OAM can recommend patches for your Oracle Applications system. The wizard takes patch data downloaded from Oracle, analyzes that data against the Applications system, and recommends patches based on criteria you specify. The wizard can also analyze individual patches, identify any prerequisites missing on the system, and show the impact that the patches would have on the system in terms of affected applications, files, and other areas. Additionally, the wizard can download multiple patches from Oracle and merge them into a single patch.
Personally, I prefer using the advanced feature in Oracle Metalink website to get the list of patches which I need to apply to the system. In addition to the advanced search feature, you can refer to the following documents to get more details about OAM, and recommended patch list:

Internet Procurement responsibility error after applying patch

After applying patch 5156915 we get this errro when we select i Procrurment responsibility:
The POR SSP HOME function is not available under the Internet Procurement responsibility.
iProcurement is installed.
Any ideas would be most welcome thank you.

I am a little worried that I couldnt find that same document.
I entered in ML "The POR SSP HOME function is not available" ....and that document did not appear.
Then I entered it with underscores : "The POR_SSP_HOME function is not available" ... and now I can see the doc.
How did you do your search?! I am guessing you used udnerscores or else something different? ? ?

By the way we are told to "clear" the _pages directory. I would do this with
cat /dev/null > oa_html , etc ?

Questions about patching in eBS 12.1.3

Hi everyone,
Currently, we have an installation based in 12.1.1. fresh install which was evolved to 12.1.3 althougth pacthing.. it was done by freelance and now we need to install a few patches by functional problems.
So, we need to solve a few doubts:
1.- I suposse that we should to apply patches with adpatch.. Is it correct?
2.- We have down all services in application tier but ... do we need to put maintenance mode with adadmin in application tier?
3.- What parameters should we use with adpatch? we have one application tier and one database tier (apply=Y, pre-install mode =N, ...)
4.- Does it exist any pack for patching and clonning with any tools as OEM? I think that it exist and it could improve our work.

2.- We have down all services in application tier but ... do we need to put maintenance mode with adadmin in application tier?It is not mandatory to bring down services but you should bring instance in maintenance mode.
Good practice is to bring down services and put application in maintenance mode but this is not mandatroy. You can use hotpatch option to apply patch when instance is up and running and without enabling maintenance mode. This is called hot patching and is benificial for live when you cant have downtime.

How to skip EGO product before applying patch 9239090 (12.1.3)

Hi All,
i am applying patch 9239090 (12.1.3) on my system OUL5x64 EBS 12.1.1 db:11.1.0.7
when upgraded to 12.1.1, got error on EGO product and i had to skipped this product because we do not have it installed and now upgrade to 12.1.3 got the same error on this product.and had to skip this product again.
here is the error:
sqlplus -s APPS/***** @/TEST/apps/apps_st/appl/ego/12.0.0/patch/115/sql/EGOSILDU.sql &un_ego

ORA-02149: Specified partition does not exist
ORA-06512: at line 408
question:How can i disable this product before applying the patch 9239090 so the upgrade process can continue un-interrupted.

is there any ways that i can do it before apply the patch 9239090 so the process will not require user interact. we patch the system at night and if it fails, we will waste few hours till the morning before it can continue running again.The only way would be commenting the line in the patch driver which initiates EGOSILDU.sql script (if possible), but this is not supported by Oracle Support.

OS   Linux 64 Bit (OEL 5.9)

Can anyone please check if the below steps for applying patch 16000686 on R12 installation is correct ?
I am a newbie in this area.
1. login as applmgr
2. export env. variables
. APPS-server-dbname.env
3. enable maintenance
$adadmin defaultsfile=$APPL_TOP/admin/EBS64/adalldefaults.txt logfile=adadmin.log menu_option=ENABLE_MAINT_MODE workers=4
4.   stop all application processes.   sh adstpall.sh
5. Apply the patch 16000686
$ adpatch   defaultsfile=$APPL_TOP/admin/$TWO_TASK/adalldefaults.txt logfile=u16000686.log patchtop=/u01/patches/16000686   driver=u16000686.drv   workers=8
where u01/patches/16000686 is the directory where this patch is unzipped.
6. java oracle.apps.per.DataInstall <un> <pw> thin <host:port: sid >
DataInstall Main Menu
1. Select legislative data to install/upgrade
2. Select college data to install/upgrade
3. Select JIT/Geocode or OTL to install/upgrade
4. Exit to confirmation menu
Enter your choice : 1
Apply for Global and US.
7. adpatch driver=$PER_TOP/patch/115/driver/hrglobal.drv logfile=hrglobal.drv.log options=hotpatch
8. disable maintenance.
9. start app tier.
sh adstrtal.sh apps/apps

Still my friend, it doesn't really matter. Eventually, (the services will be down + maintenance mode is enabled) before the patches are applied
