Applying different style sheets

I'm not sure if this is possible, but I would like to apply
different style sheets to different outputs.
For example: (Both outputs use the same data)
Output to PDF = Style Sheet 1
Output to WebHelp = Style Sheet 2
Is there an easy way to do this?

It would be lovely to select a style sheet as you are
generating the output, wouldn't it? As far as I can see, however,
style sheets are assigned per topic thru a reference RH sticks in
the HTML header.
Which leaves you two options:
1) The simple but tedious way: In the Topics list (on the
right), select all the topics. Right-click and pick Properties.
When the Properties window opens, choose the stylesheet you want on
the Appearance tab. Click OK. You would need to do this each time
you switch from generating WebHelp to generating PDF.
2) The complex but cool if it works way: I don't use the PDF
plug-in - do you still generate PDF from the Printed Documentation
layout? If so, can you use the StyleMapping.dot template? (I seem
to remember that the PDF goes through a Word stage behind the
scenes.) You can open StyleMapping.dot in Word (be sure to use File
> Open so you get the .dot) and change the styles into what is
effectively a new style sheet. It may take some tweaking - I still
can't get my bulleted styles to come out quite right - but it's
great for global changes.

Elisa

  • Use Conditional Tags to apply different Style Sheets / Skins for branding purposes?

    RoboHelp HTML > WebHelp layout appearance using Conditional Build Tags
    I have a customer who supplies an application to different corporates, and brands his product by changing the appearance, using a selected style sheet to suit the Brand.
    Is there a way to customise a WebHelp layout, to select a style sheet and a skin for Brand A, and another style sheet and skin for Brand B, and so on?
    Would this work in RH7? (The customer uses this at the moment.)
    Would this work in RH8? (They could upgrade if this solves the problem.)

  • How to apply different styles to Portlets on the same Portal page?

    How do you apply different styles to Portlets on the same Portal page?
    I'm new to this kind of thing, but understand that something called "cascading style sheets" can help here?
    What are these, how do you use them, and can you make different Portlets (all types - PL/SQL, Java, Applications, etc) on the same Portal page have different styles assigned?

  • How to apply different styles to multiple spry accordian panels?

    Hi all,
    I have a website that I'm building that has multiple spry accordian features on it.
    I am trying to apply different styles to each accordian. A problem arises when I try to place an accordian within another accordian.
    I have styled two different background images for two of the accordians for the styles (AccordionPanelTab, AccordionPanelTabHover and AccordionPanelOpen AccordionPanelTabHover) which work fine.
    When I try and place an accordian within another accordian the background image for this accordian for the styles (AccordionPanelTab and AccordionPanelOpen AccordionPanelTabHover) has the different style applyed that I stated in the accordion.css file, however the style (AccordionPanelTabHover) has the same style as the accordian it is within even though in the accordion.css file I stated a different background image.
    I hope all this makes sence below is my source and CSS Code.

    Okay guys,
    I figured it out, if anyone was having the same problem as me and looking on this thread for the answer, here it is.
    Firstly if you're wanting to seperatly style two or more Spry Accordions that are not within each other e.g.
    <div id="Accordion1" class="Accordion" tabindex="0">
      <div class="AccordionPanel">
        <div class="AccordionPanelTab">Label 1</div>
        <div class="AccordionPanelContent">
       <p>Content Goes Here </p>
    </div><!-- end #Accordion1 Content -->
      </div><!-- end #Accordion1 .AccordionPanel -->
    </div><!-- end #Accordion1 -->
    <div id="Accordion2" class="Accordion" tabindex="0">
      <div class="AccordionPanel">
        <div class="AccordionPanelTab">Label 1</div>
        <div class="AccordionPanelContent">
       <p>Content Goes Here </p>
    </div><!-- end #Accordion2 Content -->
      </div><!-- end #Accordion2 .AccordionPanel -->
    </div><!-- end #Accordion2 -->
    You don't have to do this, as long as you have seperate ID's for the divs (which dreamweaver automatically does anyway) you'll be fine.
    However if for some reason you want to put one accordion inside another like I did e.g.
    <div id="Accordion1" class="Accordion" tabindex="0">
      <div class="AccordionPanel">
        <div class="AccordionPanelTab">Label 1</div>
        <div class="AccordionPanelContent">
       <p>Content Goes Here </p>
    <div id="Accordion2" class="Accordion" tabindex="0">
      <div class="AccordionPanel">
        <div class="AccordionPanelTab">Label 1</div>
        <div class="AccordionPanelContent">
       <p>Content Goes Here </p>
    </div><!-- end #Accordion2 Content -->
      </div><!-- end #Accordion2 .AccordionPanel -->
    </div><!-- end #Accordion2 -->
    </div><!-- end #Accordion1 Content -->
      </div><!-- end #Accordion1 .AccordionPanel -->
    </div><!-- end #Accordion1 -->
    Too style Accordian 1 & 2 so their tabs both have different backgrounds and Hover background when the content panel is open and closed you have to style it in the CSS they following way;
    CSS
    #Accordion1  .AccordionPanelTab {
    height:75px;
    width:285px;
    background:url(../images/package_spry_tab_bg.png);}
    #Accordion1 .AccordionPanelTabHover,
    #Accordion1 .AccordionPanelOpen .AccordionPanelTabHover {
    height:75px;
    width:285px;
    background:url(../images/package_spry_tab_bg_RO.png);}
    #Accordion2  .AccordionPanelTab {
    height:44px;
    width:469px;
    background:url(../images/packages_spry.png);}
    #Accordion2 .AccordionPanelClosed .AccordionPanelTabHover,
    #Accordion2 .AccordionPanelOpen .AccordionPanelTabHover {
    height:44px;
    width:469px;
    background:url(../images/packages_spry_ro.png);}
    Normally when styling two seperate spry accordions you can just use the following code
    #Accordion1  .AccordionPanelTab {
    height:75px;
    width:285px;
    background:url(../images/package_spry_tab_bg.png);}
    #Accordion1 .AccordionPanelTabHover,
    #Accordion1 .AccordionPanelOpen .AccordionPanelTabHover {
    height:75px;
    width:285px;
    background:url(../images/package_spry_tab_bg_RO.png);}
    The only difference with styling a Spry accordion within another to ensure they have different hover backgrounds when the content panel is open and closed is ".AccordionPanelClosed".
    Hope this helped anyone who was having the same issue I was.

  • How to apply different styles to multiple spry collapsible panels?

    Hello every.
    I would really appreciate some help with this problem I am coming up against.
    I am creating a website which has multiple Spry collapsible panels in it. I applied the styles I wanted for the first Spry collapsible panel I did in the styles panel with no problems what so ever.
    However when I go to apply the styles I want for my second and every other Spry collapsible panel, when I applied the style I wanted it changed the first panel I did. I’ve tried giving all my collapsible panels different Div ID’s but no luck. I just can’t seem to apply different styles to each of my collapsible panels.
    Can someone please advise me how to do this?
    Thank you in advance for your help.
    Kind regards
    Elliot

    I've figured the most of it out.
    By giving the Spry Collapsible Panel that you want to style differently a separate ID and class and then duplicating the original Spry Collapsible Panel style in the CSS style panel on the right and renaming them the same name as the panel you want to style differently it will allow you to style it differently to all the other panels apart from the Hover.
    I've tried everything! Below is the code I'm using for the two Collapsible Panels I want to style Differently.
    I only want to have different Tab backgrounds and Hover backgrounds
    1st Spry CollapsiblePanel
    Code:
    <div id="CollapsiblePanel1" class="CollapsiblePanel">
        <div class="CollapsiblePanelTab" tabindex="0">Tab</div>
        <div class="CollapsiblePanelContent">Content</div>
    CSS Style
    .CollapsiblePanelTab
    .CollapsiblePanelTabHover, .CollapsiblePanelOpen .CollapsiblePanelTabHover
    2nd Spry CollapsiblePanel
    Code:
    <div id="CollapsiblePanel2" class="CollapsiblePanel2">
      <div class="CollapsiblePanel2Tab" tabindex="0">Tab</div>
      <div class="CollapsiblePanel2Content">Content</div>
    </div>
    .CollapsiblePanel2Tab
    .CollapsiblePanel2TabHover, .CollapsiblePanelOpen .CollapsiblePanel2TabHover
    As I said the Tab works both I have two seperate background images for the Tabs but I can only seem to have one background for the hover.
    Has anyone any ideas on how to get around this?
    Kind regards
    Elliot

  • Different style sheets for subportals

    Is it possible to have two subportals each with a different or separate css file? If so, how would it be done
    Thanks
    Susan

    Are you talking about just applying a different existing color scheme to a subportal?
    If so there are actually several different ways this can be done. The easiest (I think) is to use a header portlet and control style from there. I'd suggest reading the deployment guide - they should have examples of how you can apply branding to subportals and communities.
    About BrandingBranding customizes the look and feel of Subportals and Communities. You create Branding Portlets to customize the headers, footers, and Content Canvases. You place these Portlets in a particular location on a page to give it a more personalized look and feel.
    When you set the Branding Portlet's administrative preferences, you set up the properties, HTML, and default values for the headers, footers, and Content Canvases. After these values have been set, Community owners are able to use predefined Branding Portlets in their Communities. Using these predefined values, managers of Communities can easily create a common look and feel for a Community, while retaining the ability to change the properties so that they can customize the Portlet to fit their needs. The Community owner can easily give the headers, footers, or Content Canvases a different image, text, date, and so forth while using HTML already defined by an portal administrator.
    Note:Branding for a Content Canvas appears at the page level in a Community. Thus, you will see a Content Canvas listed for each page in the Community. If you want the same Content Canvas for each page in the Community, you must change every page individually.
    Default Header and Footer ObjectsWhen you install the portal platform a set of default branding header and footer objects are created. You can add them to Subportals and Communities to quickly see the possibilities of branding. You can also modify the default settings for the header and footer objects. The following default Branding header and footers are created:
    Footer - Color: Colored using the portal or Community style sheet.
    Footer - Plain: Black and white footer.
    Header - Graphic, Text: A graphic on the left and, text on the right.
    Header - Large Graphic: A large graphic.
    Header- Logo, Graphic: A logo on the left and, a graphic on the right.
    Header - Logo, Graphic/Date: A logo on the left and, a graphic and/or date on the right.
    Header - Logo, Rich Text: A logo on the left and, rich text on the right.
    Header - Logo, Text/Date: A logo on the left and, text and date on the right.
    Header - Logo/Text: A logo on the left and, text on the right.
    Header - Logo/Text, Rich Text: A logo and text on the left and, rich text on the right.
    Header - Right Text: Text only on the right.
    Header - Text: Text only on the left.
    Header - Text, Large Graphic: Text on the left and a large graphic on the right. Note:The permission settings for Branding do not correspond to the Branding Portlet. You must be a part of the Brandingor Admingroup to make changes to the Branding header and footer default settings.
    Choose Header & FooterUse this page to change the branding (headers and footers) of the selected Subportal. Headers and Footers are special Portlets that control what is displayed at the top and bottom of the portal's pages..
    Under Add Headers:
    To add a header, click Add Header.
    To remove a header, check box next to the header you want, then click .
    Under Add Footers:
    To add a footer, click Add Footer.
    To remove a footer, check the box next to the footer you want, then click .
    Note: If you want, you can set Community branding settings to override the Subportal branding you specify here.

  • Apply different styles to text within a Text field?

    I am working on an application that consumes a user-generated
    HTML file and displays it on part of a Flex screen. The main
    problem is HTML can look something like this (for example):
    Hello <span class="greeting">Mr. Smith</span>,
    how are you doing <span class="title>today</span>.
    Unfortunately, the Flex Text control only accepts a single
    style that is applied to all text within the control and the
    htmlText property only allows for very basic HTML markup and does
    not include support for applying styles to a part of the text.
    I've thought about creating a series of Text controls (each
    with its own style as needed) and putting them together in an HBox.
    However, this messes up word wrapping if the text exceeds the width
    of its container.
    Anyone have any ideas how to solve this problem?
    Thanks!
    Dustin

    Could you please elaborate your requirement since you can have different instances of synchronized text have different formatting.
    So your original menu can consist of various text blocks (marked with different content tags) and then duplicate them and apply different formatting to the copied text. The text is still linked and an update to one will get synced to the other.
    If you are looking at applying different styling to chunks of text within one textframe (marked using a content tag), THAT is not possible, since the tagged content is supposed to maintain integrity of text and not the associated styling (which you should be able to apply independently).
    Hope that makes sense.
    Cheers,
    Vikas

  • Applying Page style sheets to a Content Area.

    We have embeded a Folder within a Content Area that has been published as a Portlet and is displayed within a Page. There is a link within the displayed folder which displays another Folder within the Content Area that we have doctored to appear like the Page (by including other Portlets, Nav Bars, same regions etc.). But the second tier (Content Area) does not mimic the Page Style of the home page, ie. we can't mimic Portlet header colours etc. How can we sort this???
    Thanks in advance.

    Just to clairfy, are you trying to make a folder look like a page, and asking how to impose a page style onto a folder? If so, you can edit your folder style to resemble your page style.

  • PLEASE make it possilbe to apply different styles to synchroniez text !! I have a long restaurant menu which i have to update 3 times insted of just 1 :-(

    Br,
    Mike

    How I got around it is, the heading which is in bold (what the food is) would be in a collection across the desktop, tablet and phone, and then the desciption of what the food is (not in bold) would be in another collection across the 3 platform, this then would updaye it across all three platforms and keep the styling to the text

  • Applying Style Sheets to all Project Topics

    Currently I have topics that use different style sheets (there are 5 listed, although I only created one).
    I want all topics to use the same style sheet.
    Is there any way to apply a Style to all Project Topics?

    Welcome to the forum.
    Go to the topic list and select all topics, then right click and select Properties. You can assign the new CSS there. Any style names in your topics not included in the new CSS will of course be broken and need to be assigned to whatever style you choose.

  • (none) style gets applied to numbered list & font size not matching text in my style sheet

    RoboHelp 9 (9.0.2.271)
    Something is wrong with my style sheet, and it only started happening after I created Master Page for the first time. This happens whether or not the new Master Page is applied to a topic:  Every time I type any text in a topic, then click the Numbered List icon in the toolbar, the style goes from Normal to (none), and the font changes from my style sheet's Normal 10pt to 8pt, for the number as well as the text.
    I don't see how the new Master Page has anything to do with it because it's not applied to this particular topic.  I had created a Master Page in RoboHelp HTML and applied my style sheet, then my topics to it. I have a footer in the Master Page and applied 8pt font using inline formatting (not the style sheet).
    I created a new project to see what would happen.
    When I apply my style sheet, then apply the numbered list to text, the text font is correct (10pt), but the number font is wrong (8pt).
    But when I apply the default style sheet to the topic, the number font and text font match.
    How can I get the number and text fonts to match in my style sheet?
    I found a workaround by applying inline formatting to the next (10pt) after selecting the text and clicking the numbered list icon.  Below is the html code.  The numbered steps in red are the ones that are not correct (8 pt).  The code with the correct formatting (after I applied inline formatting) is in blue.
    <body>
    <h1>My Overview</h1>
    <p>example</p>
    <ol type="1">
    <li>first step</li>
    <li>second step</li>
    </ol>
    <ol type="1">
    <li style="font-size: 10pt;">Fixed by applying inline formatting to
      10pt after selecting the numbered list icon</li>
    <li style="font-size: 10pt;">next step</li>
    </ol>
    <p>&#160;</p>
    <?rh-placeholder type="footer" ?>
    </body>
    Thanks.

    Amebr,
    That was helpful.  I'm looking at a topic now, and both the Apply Style list on the Formatting toolbar show (none) when I click a numbered list that I created using the Created a Numbered List or Create a Bulleted List on the toolbar.
    This is the html code for the correct font (10pt):
    <ol>
    <li class="p">this is the (none) style when I use the numbering button
      on the toolbar (which is inline formatting)</li>
    <li class="p">this is the (none) style when I use the numbering button
      on the toolbar&#160;(which is inline formatting)</li>
    <li class="p">this is the (none) style when I use the numbering button
      on the toolbar&#160;(which is inline formatting)</li>
    </ol>
    Both styles list show the correct custom styles I created for numbered lists, though.  Below is the code (correct font):
    <ol>
    <li class="p-ProcedureSteps"><p class="ProcedureSteps">this is from
      my custom numbered style and looks correct</p></li>
    </ol>
    What's strange is, if I create a list and highlight it, then click the Apply Numbered List button in the toolbar, the numbers and text font size changes to 8 point and my Normal font is 10 pt, and both style lists show (none).  That's what I wanted to figure out in my original post.  I opened up the stylesheet and I don't see where that's applied.  In Flare, you can easily see in a table how the styles are formatted, down to each class.
    This is the code for the incorrect font (8pt):
    <ol type="1">
    <li>why is this 8pt?</li>
    <li>why is this 8pt?</li>
    <li>why is this 8pt?</li>
    </ol>
    Below is a screenshot.
    Maybe someone can figure this out. Thanks!

  • Import Word to RH8 - can't select Style sheet to apply

    When importing a Word file to RH8 the new dialogue box series needs me to apply my style sheet on the 2nd screen...but even though Help says that a list will be provided, it is greyed out and I can't chose/add one:
    This causes all the numbers and bullets to be corrupted.  How do I get my style sheet to be available?  Thank you!

    No it doesn't, that's why it's greyed out. Click the Edit button to get at the settings you need.
