Appraisals -BSP

Hi,
I am working on Course appraisals ,i have created a appraisal template and we have some quality scale ratings 1- 5 . When ever i see the template in the portal i am getting a Info buttom beside the ratings which will show the description of the ovear all taings text.
As i do not want this "info" text in the appraisal,could any one please let me know under which enhancement we will get this option so that i can exculde it in the template.

Hi Kumar Rag,
There is no need for enhancement. Edit the Appraisal template using transaction PHAP_CATALOG_PA in R/3, Select the required criterion group.
In Web settings --> text layout -> Select Name (Ensure name and description is not selected)
Even after doing this, if it still does'nt work
Select Coloumn tab --> Below Value Determ. Tab, you could find the "Note" tab with selection options. You can try selecting the option No Note.

How do you set breakpoints / debug in the WDFA / BSP environment. The development team is able to do in the GUI environment.

You will need a abap person for the same.
But i will elaborate.
First login to SAP GUI with the same user with which you login into the bsp application.
Firstly go to the code where you need to put the break point.
Threre on the top section there will be two break point options select the http break point.
Then run the application.

Appraisal Column Access

Hi,
We are using Appraisals BSP document. It has been so configured that in the final Process stage, the Objective and the weighting column are display only for both manager and employee.
I can see the corresponding configuration i the column access tab ot the Appraisal template.
Requirement has surfaced to modify this and allow manager to modify the Objective and weighting column in the Process stage also. I cannot make change to the template since its already in use.
I have been trying to use the BADI IF_EX_HRHAP00_COL_ACCESS~GET_COLUMN_ACCESS
If HAP_AP_STATUS = 4. (If appraisal is "In-process" status)
AVAILABILITY = 'X'.
COLUMN_OWNER = 'X'.
ENDIF.
But this is not gettiung me the correct result. Please let me know if you have any suitable advice . Thanks!

hi Hayerk
the problem as i undestand from your explanation is that there are existing documents created for this appraisal template which are not allowing you to unrelease the appraisal template and do the desireable changes on the appraisal catalog.
If you don't require the already created appraisal documents then the solution is quite simple : goto phap_admin select the template and delete all the documents which are already created . then the system will allow you to change the appraisal template.
If the above catalog is currently in use a simple approach can be copying the template and creating the new one with required changes . keep the old documents as it is for the required period and then archive it .
Let me know the system details and patch levels, maybe i can find out some information for you . from your explanation it seems to me that you are using the old appraisal system .

ESS Appraisal Workflow

Hi all,
quick question here. Currently, we are using appraisals (BSP) in ESS. I just wanted to check on the workflow that it is using between apraisee and apraiser. Is there a standard one? I need to troubleshoot.

Objective Setting and Appraisals: No BSP-Template found!

I am implementing MSS and am getting an error under tab Employee Review for Objective Setting and Appraisals. The error is:
An error occurred: java.lang.Exception: Error in CFViewgroup.createListModel: No BSP-Template found!
Any clues as to how to fix this?

Now its been a while since ive seen that error .... id check the following:
1. User Parameters in the backend HR system
2. User Permissions in the backend HR system (although I dont think its related)
3. In Security Zones - ensure that the com.sap.portal.ep50 node has sufficient privs for your user.
BTW which versions of EP and HR are you using - that may have some bearing - ive only ever seen it on ECC5 and EP6.0 ...

To find out, which links you need to enter the Web pages, enter the Web Application Builder (SE80). In the Repository Browser search for package PAOC_HAP_DOCUMENT_UI, and follow the path Web Objects>BSP Applications>HAP Document-->Pages with flow logic.
Double-click on the page you want to access. On the right side of the screen, go to the Properties tab
page.
BSPu2019s can be started also directly from the SAP System via transaction phap_start_bsp. This
transaction can also be used to see the parameters and to build up the link which you can copy for use in
your portal iview.
However , the pages no display none information or layout.
I need help . How can display the layout of this page before the portal.??????

Hi everyone,
I've run into a problem while testing with PHAP_START_BSP and wondered if anyone has seen this issue. I am testing in the sandbox on a recently created userID that I assigned to a pernr I created. When I test with page Documents_todo.htm, I can see the test template I released. 3 other of my teammates can see it as well. However, when I use a test ID that isn't from my team the template does not display. What is really confusing to me is we even copied my ID identically and assigned it to the pernr I was using and that test ID still couldn't view the template. But when I took my ID that was working and assigned it to a random pernr it still worked. Has anyone seen this or know of what else I could look at? I've worked with our security team and the auths on SU01 and structural auths appear to be the same.

Select your appraisal template in PHAP_Catalog_PA-> right click->Go to Preview->Select web layout.

Appraisals: Buttons dont respond in BSP pages

Hello:
We are implementing Objective settings and appraisals without portal, so we are going to use BSP pages, everything works fine but the BSP web pages, they retrieve data from sap (they show values when we call them) but there is no reaction at all when we press any button on this page.
Internet explorer always show these warnings in the lower part:
"htmlbSubmit is undefined" and "object expected"

Kindly check and should remove handler 'CL_RSR_WWW_HTTP' from the '/default_host/sap/public/bsp' node in ICF tree.
There should be no handler on this node. Also refer to note 871461, for more details about the issue.
This should solve the issue.

Appraisals in BSP

I am facing some issues in the BSP part of the Appraisal template. These are in the lines of, which of the BSP pages would need to be attached to whom in the portal.
Our Appraisal consists of the Appraisee, Part Appraisal and the Appraiser.
Currently, I am not able to get the screen right for the Part Appraiser and Appraiser. All the pages and the buttons remain visible to the employee, only. I have attached the page "Documents_recieved_open2.htm" in the PMS link in the portal for all the employees.
The same when tested in R/3 workflow inbox, works fine as the work item when executed disappears from the inbox of the employee and is available in the Part appraiser's login for execution.
I need to know how can I activate the authorizations/ workflows working in R/3 in the portal. The page should be in a display mode immediately after the employee finishes sending the template to the Part Appraiser. For now, even after "submitting" the document he is able to get all the column access and buttons meant for the manager on the same link. I dont want to change my column access in this case as its working perfect in R/3.
I have also tried by maintaining the "person authorized" for each of the pushbuttons used. But after this also, the employee is able to see the whole template in change mode with the buttons deactivated after submitting from his end.
This is a little urgent, pls do respond if anyone has a solution to this.

Welcome to SDN.
For Part appraiser use the Page -> documents_where_participated.htm.
All the Column access depends on how you have designed your Appraisal Template in PHAP_CATALOG.Check the Column Access tab of your Appraisal Template.In Addition to that Column access is controlled by column access BADI,
<b>HRHAP00_COL_ACCESS</b>. Chk whthre your appraisal template links to this BADI.

BSP application hap_document for appraisals - Documentation?

Hello,
Does anyone know if there exists any documentaion explaining this application? It seems documents_todo.htm is the main page but is there no documention on the 20+ pages in this application, explaining their function, intended use, etc.?

How to restrict Create Authorization in Appraisals to Users?

Dear HCM Experts:
We are using BSP application hap_document for Business Event Appraisals.
I have used documents_todo.htm for recording the Appraiser/ Particapant ratings.
That is when user click on create button, system should not allow the user to create a new appraisal document.
My Issue is:
I donot want to give create Appraisal Authorization to User. I tried using Auth Objects: PLOG and P_HAP_DOC but nothings seems to be working.
My requirement is to give only display and change authorization to Users in Appraisals.
Please suggest if any wayout.

Yes, in the AUTH OBJ even if i give change activity, user is defaulted with create authorization as well.
Possible option that triggered in my mind also is to modify the BSP Application. But i wanted to have the solution in the standard itself.
Thats why i have raised OSS to SAP for solution, lets see.

Urgent help needed in Rich Text Functionality in BSP (Bold, Italic, etc)

The standard Appraisal BSP (HAP_DOCUMENT) displays the documents in a plain text box
Scenario - Standard BSP application HAP_DOCUMENT for appraisals provides users to input in plain text boxes (htmlb textedit)
However, there is requirement to support rich text (bold, italicised, underline etc) for these text boxes. Basically, there are 3 aspects to this scenario
1. Enable these plain textboxes with rich text editor
2. Store the rich text contents of text boxes in Database table
3. Convert and display the data stored in db table as rich text.

Note that the previous reference to tokens only applies if the field is a Multiline text field. Regular fields can't change their font or display based upon mapping data.

Buttons not working in the upgraded (ERP 2005) PM BSP

We have recently upgraded our system from ERP2004 to ERP2005. We have made the SAPU re-conciliation. When we tested our entire BSP in portal, some of the buttons that used to work before upgrade are not working right now. Some of them are:
    1. the CREATE button that allows us to create performance plans/appraisals is not working in employee login (ESS)
    2. Start Evaluation button that changes the appraisal from Inreview to Inprocess status is also not working.
         When I did a code compare, the upgraded version of HRHAP_DOCUMENT_CHANGE_STATUS has got a new function module called HRHAP_0DOC_DET_NEW_STATUS which is used to Determine New Status depending on BUTTON_ID. But in the old version this is not there, instead a perform does the same function. Does this help?
Can anyone tell me why these are not working? Any information that you could provide will be really useful.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

Part appraisals as part of OSA Status Overview in MSS?

Hi,
I'm in the middle of a clarification phase regarding implementation of Objective Setting and Appraisal (OSA). This is my question regarding part appraisals:
In the Status Overview page/iview in MSS, the manager can prepare, see, select and modify documents with statuses like In preparation, In Planning and In Process.
If a document has the substatus "Part appraisal in process", and the manager is the first part appraiser, I would expect the document to open the part appraisal column for input when I select the document from the "In Process" column. Instead the document is opened with the Final Appraisal column open for input.
How can you include a managers part appraisal documents in the Status Overview page, or have the part appraisal column open for input?
We want to make the Status Overview the "one point of access" for the managers appraisal tasks, but is that possible within standard?

Is your issue resolved, we did notice the similar behavior. However if BSP application HAP_DOCUMENT/documents_todo.htm is called directly, it displays the Part appraisal first and then upon completion it displays Final appraisal.
I plan on providing this as URL in MSS as an alternative till OSS status overview is fixed.
Any info ?

Change of page layout settings in bsp

HI Gurus,
i am working on customizing a weblayout for objective settings&appraisals(ecc6.0).
I have defined the classes and methods in bsp applications.
I need to customize the page layout and split the frame work of the layout into header and details part.
I am not able to find the web layout settings(where should the web layout settings changed.

Harry,
Short answer: No - either a shape or some other media - when placed using the Document Setup options, the color shape is placed in the background of all other objects (it becomes the page color) anything placed on the page in the normal Edit Mode will be on top of the background and not hidden.
See attached images - I placed a shape on part of the document to show the original and added color - if you stretch the shape to cover the page, the entire page will take on the color of the shape:
