Approval WorkFlow with custom steps

Hi guys,
I need to create, using SPD, a simple workflows with this Outcome step
Accepted e Approved so, for example If I have these users in My WF
UserA, UserB
I want that UserA change the WF step to Accepted and then UserB close the WF with Approved.... is it possible?
thanks!
Sergio

Hi Brampurnot,
I have created supplier via create Supplier via workflow from a custom supplier type which has workflow attached to a custom phase. After creating the Supplier and when it was in Created phase I found supplier in My supplier workflow Activities
under For manual Phase change. Then when I changed phase to the Approval attached phase, I found the supplier in the channel for the approver attached at that phase. Then after when the Approver approved the supplier , the supplier was visible in the "search supplier" to me!.. Hope it helps regarding the Supplier workflow..
And coming to registering through Form I thought you might be mentioning Supplier registration at Buy Side! .
Supplier Self registration seems not to be enabled yet on my application , so I dint have idea that it exists. Would let you know if I can try that scenario.

Uday

  • Is two stage approval workflow with custom user available out of the box

    I have this scenario.
    1. User1 uploads document
    2. Workflow starts and asks user name of person to whom it will send document for approval.
    3. User1 enters name and workflow sends email to that user.
    4. User2 approves document upon which it goes to User3. This User3 is a predefined user and User2 doesn't need to enter his name like User1 above.
    5. User3 approves document.
Is this workflow available OOB in SharePoint?

    Hi Frank,
You can create a column called Approver to store the User2 in the document library, and set the column as Required.
Then you can create your workflow like the screenshot:
In the workflow Strart Options, you can set "Start workflow automatically when an item is created".

  • OOTB Approval Workflow on Custom List does not Update Approval Status

I have a custom list on which I've required content approval.  I then created a workflow instance from the "Approval - SharePoint 2010" template.  For this workflow I have selected "Update the approval status after the workflow
is completed (use this workflow to control content approval".  When I approve the list item via the workflow task item the status of the item is not updated but stays at pending even though the
workflow shows "Completed" with the Outcome of "approved".  Is this the expected behavior, i.e. does "Update the approval status after the workflow is completed (use this workflow to control content approval"
not work for custom lists?  Does it work on any of the lists?

    Hi Kalos1840,
If you check "Require Content Approval" setting, only the way above can update the approval status due to the approval status is for this approval workflow. As this approval workflow cannot achieve your demand, I recommend you un-check "Require Content Approval"
setting and create a custom workflow such as the OOTB Approval Workflow or SharePoint Designer workflow.
Here is the steps of a SharePoint Designer workflow:
1.Go to your custom list , click Create a Workflow in SharePoint Designer.
2.Add a “Start a task process” action in your workflow.
3.Click “these users” and Start a Task Process edit page will pop up.
4.In the Participants field, input your  approvers based on the order of approval.
5.In the right of Participants field, select “Serial (one at a time)”.

  • Approval Workflows with Browser-Based InfoPath Forms Not Opening In Browser

    Hello,
I have an InfoPath forms document library with browser-based forms.  Once a user submits a form, I have them utilize the built-in Approval workflow.  The approval workflow emails the approver and provides a link to the document.  When they click the link in the email, it trys to download the InfoPath XML form instead of opening in the browser.
How do I get it to open the form in the browser when I user clicks the link to it from the email or the approval task in the tasks list?
    Thanks

  • Urgent : Workflow with two steps

    Hi All,
i am doin a workflow in which i am using a activity step first to display the PO/SO and then a user decision step for either approving or rejecting it.
bt once the activity step (work item in SAP inbox) is executed, the workflow is terminated.
the user decision step is not executed.
can anyone assist how can i make both step work synchronously?
    Thanks in advance.

it is difficult to understand the issue. I request you to just do Business Business Object binding from Wflow to task in the decsion step. By doing that you will get the link of the PO/SO and you can use the decision also.
By the way are the present task in sequential fashion. I dont think so. It appears they are in a fork of 2 parallel branch and 1 necessary branch wich should not be the case change it 2 necessary branch
    Thanks

    Gaurav Singh

    Hi Gaurav
    check below link
    http://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/ERPHCM/Workflow+Customizings+in+Travel+Management
Travel management workflow temapltes you mentioned in your query are teiggered from event CREATED of busines object BUS2089. You just need to define same event as triggerimg event for your cust workflow in basic data setting (hat symbol) in swdd. Also go to standard workflow templates in swdd and check if event linkages are active (in green) if yes then dwactivate it by clicking on option A gree icon or by going in transaction SWETYPV.

  • Approval workflow with multiple approvers in sharepoint

    Hi All,
I have created a sequential workflow using visual studio 2012 for sharepoint 2013.
I have multiple approvers for approving a document. I am able to create individual tasks for each approver by code
my problem here is tasks should be created based upon the hierarchy, i.e. the second task will be created only when first task is approved.
All my approvers are dynamic so I did this development in visual studio. Please give me some idea how to proceed for my problem.

  • After the in place upgrade from SharePoint server 2007 to 2010, the out of the box approval workflow does not prompt for additional information after check in of a major version.

I think it has to do with the interaction between Word, InfoPath, IIS, and /or SharePoint, but I cannot put my finger on it.  Maybe client integration or authentication settings?  I have looked at it in wireshark
and have not seen anything glaring.
Steps to reproduce the (working) behavior:
Set up a document library in SharePoint 2010.
Under versioning settings, make the following changes:
Set Require Content Approval for submitted Items to Yes
Select Create Major and Minor (draft) versions
    Set require checkout to Yes
Create an out of the box “approval” workflow with the following settings:
Start this workflow to approve publishing a major version of an item.
I then create a new document. Save it.  check it in.  it is now version 0.1.
I then open it again. check it out.  Make a change. Close and save it.
    Check it in.
    Publish major version:
At this point a screen is presented to me to enter workflow parameters.  This screen comes up in Enterprise 2013 and MOSS 2007, but not the migrated version of 2010:
This is what I need help with.  It should come up in 2010.  To fix it in 2013, I had to change the IIS bindings to only have 1 entry for a port.  I did this for 2010 and it did not work.
Any help or ideas is very appreciated.  Thanks very much in advance.

    Hi Chris,
According to your description, my understanding is that the approval workflow cannot work when the workflow was set to start to approve publishing a major version of an item after upgrading to SharePoint 2010.
I recommend to check the approval workflow in Workflow settings of the corresponding library to see if the Start this workflow to approve publishing a major version of an item is checked.
For test, I recommend to create a new OOB approval workflow and set it to start to approve publishing a major version of an item in the same library to see if the workflow can work.
    Thanks

  • Seeded OLM Approval Workflow

Can someone please provide the seeded approval workflow for OLM steps? In other words, learner enrolls, 1st level approves/rejects, if 1st level fails to act what is the next level or person it goes to? etc....
    Thanks!

    Hi someolddude
I had a similar question floating around my own organisation. I could be wrong but unlike some other workflows that move up the hierachy, OLM just leaves any unapproved requests at requested and does not forward them anywhere. We have a business process where training administrators then chase enrolments at this status to see what we can do with them. I think you might have to develop some form of workflow customisation to get them to move automatically.
    Cheers

  • Send an email to previous approver after rejection in OOB Approval workflow

    Hi all,
I have created OOB Approval workflow with two approvers.
If first approver rejects then i want it to send an email to the requester.
If second approver rejects then i want it to send an email to the first approver as well as requester?
Is there any way to acheive this?
And same should happened when document is approved
Also how to identify that the first approver has completed their task?

    Hi Trupti,
you can do that using SharePoint designer workflows:
you can do that by putting the actions in the complete condition so you check who approved it and based on that you do the actions of sending email so it will be if conditions and where to put that in here
    http://bobbyspworld.com/2013/02/08/5-step-to-enhance-sharepoint-2010-approval-workflow/

Completion conditions for the task process
When you click the completion conditions, you’re taken to a full-page workflow editor where you can add or change the completion conditions that for the task process. Specifically, these actions
will run every time an individual task is completed. You can customize the logic here using the workflow commands in SharePoint Designer, like conditions, actions, and else-if statements. You can also add task behavior actions, like the Set Content Approval
    Status and End Task Process.
     Top
    of Page
</section><section class="ocpSection" style="color:#363636;font-family:'Segoe UI', 'Segoe UI Web Regular', 'Segoe UI Symbol', 'Helvetica Neue', 'BBAlpha Sans', 'S60 Sans', Arial, sans-serif;font-size:10.3999996185303px;line-height:normal;">
    Behavior of a single task
From the summary page, if you change the behavior of a single task, you’re taken to another full-screen workflow editor where you see the individual task events, such as when it’s assigned, pending,
expires, and so on. Specifically, there are five events:
Before a task is assigned: These actions run before every individual task is created.
When a task is pending: These actions run after every individual task has been created.
When a task expires: These actions run every time an individual task is incomplete after its due date.
When a task is deleted: These actions run every time an individual task is deleted before it’s completed.
When a task completes: These actions run every time an individual task is complete.
You can add any of the available conditions and actions, and you can add several more task behavior actions this time, like append, delegate, escalate, and reassign. You can even add task notification
emails and wait for changes in a task process item. The available task behavior actions change depending on the event you’ve selected.

  • Use Sharepint Approval Workflow to update column in list item

    Good afternoon all,
I am working in SP / SPD 2007.
I have set up a standard SP Approval workflow for a new list I am working with.
The workflow assigns tasks to the approvers serially and works fine so far. It sends to the first approver. upon approval it sends to the second approver. Upon approval the workflow marks the workflow column in the "All Items" view as "Approved"
All is well to this point.
My question is this. Can I append an action to this workflow? I have a separate "Status" column. All new items are initially marked "Pending Approval".
I would like that column to be changed to "Approved" upon completion of the approval workflow. I need this separate column for audit purposes as it includes several other important statuses that we track thoughout a request lifecycle. I just want
to automate the updating of this column via the approval workflow.
    Any thoughts?
    Steve
    Steve Connelly

    Hi Steve,
We can archive this simply in SharePoint 2010, but for SharePoint 2007, we can to create custom approval workflow.
Here are 2 workarounds for you.
Create a custom approval workflow with Visual Studio.
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc627283(v=office.12).aspx
    Use an InfoPath Form instead.

  • Approval workflow issue

    Hello Friends,
I have created a simple approval workflow with 2 stages for a document library. User A will approve and then the approval has to go to User B
User A is receiving a mail and editing the document and saving it. User A then goes to his mail and approves it.
Now as per the logic, the User B should get an email. But its not happening so.
Is it something that I'm missing? Or should I include all the users in a single stage?
The error that I'm getting on the second stage

    Hi Chandra,
According to your description, my understanding is that you got an error when you ran an approval workflow with two stages.
I did a testing as the following workflow, everything worked well:
Please create a new library, and a new workflow as the above, test again, compare the result.
In addition, as the message, the Approval WF failed to run when the user ID was system account. And by default, system account cannot run workflow automatically. So, please use other users to test, compare the result.

  • OOB Approval Workflow Not Working as Expected

I am using the OOB Approval Workflow with an InfoPath (Browser Based) form that is published to a form library. The form contains multiple options for approvers that route serially. I open the form, fill it out, and submit it to the library. The
approval workflow is set to automatically start when an item is created. When the first Item is created the it works correctly. The workflow's task status is "In Progress" and the workflow assigns a task to the person selected in the person/group
    picker on the Infopath form.
The issue is when I submit a second form to the library. The workflow automatically sets the the "Outcome" to "Rejected" and never assigns a task to the person selected in the person/group picker on the Infopath form. See below:

check the ULS logs and share the more details why its auto rejected.
you can configure the Diagnostic Log as verbose for Workflow.
