Apps R12 Warerhouse Management testing issue.

Hi Gurus,
I am planning to do testing of standard cycle of inbound logistics using WMS in R12 environment. As per page 5-3 of Oracle WMS UG of R12, in a note it is mentioned that:
'Oracle requires that all Oracle Warehouse Management related receipts be made through the mobile device.'
In testing laboratory I dont have access to any mobile device. Does that mean I wont be able to execute standard process of WMS fo rthe want of mobile device??
How can I learn WMS then in such a scenrio??
Please provide guidance I am stuck :(
Regards
Pankaj Singh

Bad news...I am just a functional guy as well. But here is what I can share with you of which some might be obvious so I apologize but it should get you to the finish line:
First make sure that MSCA is installed and set up
Make sure that you or whoever is doing the testing has an established log in and assigned MSCA responsibility
If you are running from a windows based pc you have telnet already
Check with your DBA which box your apps might be running on
Follow a nav path of Start>>>Run>>>telnet\BOX NAME
Again your dba should be able to help you with that

  • Network Manager Testing Issue

    Hi folks,
I have a bit of an issue regarding Network Manager. It refuses to connect despite the appropriate modules being active for all my interfaces (eth0 wlan0). It goes through the motions of connecting and tries for ages then says "network disconnected".
I am fairly certain that I have not done anything config wize (but I am open to suggestions) and this is only happening on my Gnome system (I am currently writing this on my XFCE Netbook). Has anyone had any issues re: the recent network manager upgrade on Gnome?
    Cheers,
    Scott
P.S. Once people begin to reply, if this is not an issue with the Testing repo, could the mods move this to the appropriate forum so I am not misleading anyone looking for real testing repo issues.

what version of networkmanager? -1 or -2?

  • Oracle Apps R12 iRec URL Redirection issue

    Dear Friends,
We have configured R12 i-Rec in an server and placed in DMZ.
we have made this server as external and we have made the irec responsibilities to external and using the DMZ Server URL we were able to work without any issue.
Now to publish this URL to Interner users with https and Port masking , we have mapped this URL http://abc.com:8020 to https://xyz.com using Microsoft UGC Firewall 2010.
Now from Internet we were able to hit the URL https://xyz.com and could login as oracle application user with the same url https://xyz.com
But when we click any of the irec responsilities (irecruitmnt agency (or) others) which is made external, the page is redirected to the Real DMZ Server URL http://abc.com:8020/OA_HTML/...
    and it shows error:
    The page cannot be displayed.
I believe it should not happen , throughout the session it has to maintain the same new URL
Please let us know the Fix.

Please look into the web server log files for details.
    2. At present commands and TOPs don’t work (e.g. sqlplus, or $APPL_TOP etc). How they can be setup so that the commands can be run anywhere and cd $XXX_TOP commands can be issued to move to respective TOPs.
    3. I ran the adautocfg.sh after implementation. While running, I saw that it configured the XXX_TOPs. But, unable to use them. What else is required to be run? Did I miss out on any other files?

    PROBLEM
    ERROR
There are no functions available for this responsibility
    SOLUTION
    1. SYSADMIN User 로 applications 에 접속 한다.
    2. User Management responsibility
    3. Users web page 를 click 한다.
    4. 해당 user 를 find 한다.
    5. Update Icon 을 click 한다.
    6. Assign Roles button을 click 한다.
    7. 'Security Administrator' Role 를 Assign 한다.
    REFERENCE
Note. 734280.1 - UMX Error: 'There are no functions available for this responsibility' And/Or 'There are no valid navigations for this responsibility' when Accessing 'User Management' Responsibility.

    Rick,
You do not mention which account you are using to do this - I suspect you are using your own account. What you will notice is that if you login as the SYSADMIN account and use the User Management responsibility, you will be able to succeed :-) In a real world situation, the SYSADMIN account (being a generic one) is typically locked down, so using the SYSADMIN account is not feasible. What you will need to do is to login as the SYSADMIN account (this one time only) and using the User Management responsibility, grant the "Security Administrator" role to your apps account (assuming it is the one you are using). Then logout and login as yourself and you will see that you will be able to do what you need to do. Unfortunately, this step is not documented very well anywhere AFAIK. Pl let us know if this works for you.

  • XML data into Oracle Tables. XML file on Application Server.Oracle Apps R12

    Hi All,
    My Database version : 11.2.0.2.0
I have an XML file which needs to be loaded into the Database Tables. How ever i do not want to use the XMLTYPE as given below
    insert into test1 (
SELECT PrcDate, PmtType, PmtStatus, PmtTypeCount, PmtTypeAmt
    FROM XMLTABLE(
    '/WFPaymentAck/RejectedDom1ACH'
    PASSING XMLTYPE( BFILENAME('ECX_UTL_LOG_DIR_OBJ','wf_test_xml.XML'), NLS_CHARSET_ID('UTF8') )
    COLUMNS
    PrcDate VARCHAR2(2000) PATH '@PrcDate' ,
    PmtType VARCHAR2(2000) PATH '@PmtType' ,
    PmtStatus VARCHAR2(100) PATH '@PmtStatus' ,
    PmtTypeCount VARCHAR2(100) PATH 'PmtTypeCount' ,
    PmtTypeAmt VARCHAR2(100) PATH 'PmtTypeAmt'
Because this way the XML file needs to reside on the DB server.
I am looking into other option of loading the XML file into a CLOB column of a table and reading it from that column.
I did a couple of tests and feel that this way also the XML file has to reside on the Database Server itself. I am not sure if this is correct or if there is any problem with our TEST instance.
++Can anyone let me know if i need to have the XML file on the DB server instead of the Application server to load into a CLOB column of table ??++
    ++Or++
++Is there any other workaround for me to load XML into Oracle Tables, while having the XML file on Application Server.++
Your immediate help is appreciated. I need to get past this ASAP.
    Thanks in Advance.

    1) Are you asking me to create a folder on Database directory which points to a folder on the Apps server ?I suggest creating an Oracle directory object (a database object) pointing to a real location (folder) on Application server.
we DONOT want a hand shake between the DB Server and the APPS server.I don't see where the problem is.
I'm not familiar with Apps R12 but there's no doubt the two servers are already communicating, at least App server should be able to access the DB for the whole thing to run.
    As I said :
One way or another, the data has to make its way to the database, there's no workaround to that. How do you imagine the data will end up in a database table if it doesn't come to the DB server?
There's no magical method out there, both servers have to communicate at some point.
About client-server approaches (client being here the App server), you can read about accessing the XML DB repository in the XML DB Developer's Guide : http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/appdev.112/e23094/toc.htm
Other option : SQL*Loader can load a CLOB, or an XMLType column too

  • ESYU: R12 - Order Management를 위한 Multi Org Access Control(MOAC) setup 방법

    Purpose
Oracle Order Management - Version: 12.0 to 12.0
Information in this document applies to any platform.
    Solution
MOAC Setup:
    1. HRMS에서 Security Profile을 정의:
    a. HRMS Management responsibility 선택
    b. HRMS Manager> Security> Profile로 이동
Navigation: HRMS Management> HRMS Manager> Processes & Reports> Submit Process & Report> Security List Maintenance
    2. MO Profile Options setup:
    a. MO: Security Profile - 이 profile setting은 MOAC functionality를 활성화 한다.
Keep the MO profiles in sync:
MO: Security Profile은 site와 responsibility level로 setting 할 수 있다.
MO: Default Operating Unit은 site, responsibility, user level로 setting 할 수 있다.
Application이 원하는대로 동작되지 않는것을 발견하면 이 profile options의 setting 값을 확인한다.
    3. OM setup:
R12 upgrade 시 OM Profile에서 migrate 된 새로운 OM System Parameters를 확인:
Order Management Super User> Setup> System Parameters> Values
(See <<NOTE 393646.1>>-R12 Readiness Cheat Sheet: Migrated OM Profile Options)
Sales Order and Order Organizer forms
Quick Sales order and Organizer forms
    Sales Agreement forms
    Pricing and Availability form
    Other forms
Note: Sales Order form에서 hidden field 'Operating Unit'를 'Show' 하기 전에 fotm안에 이 field를 위한 공간을 만들어 놓아야 한다.

Have you considered adding the exec apps.mo_global.set_policy_context call to your connection's start-up script?
Tools -> Preferences -> Database -> Filename for connection startup scriptNot the most flexible approach, so I'm not sure if it is appropriate for your application, but just a thought. You might create distinct connection names with different start-up scripts for each org_id.

  • Migrating a Forms 6i custom application to Oracle Apps R12 custom bolt on

    Hi,
I need to migrate an oracle forms custom application built in 6i to sit within oracle apps R12 (Forms 10g) and use Oracle Apps user authentication and session. It could become a custom bolt on to Oracle Apps and might be accessed from a custom responsibility in oracle applications.
    a) How easy/difficult is this?
    b) What are the challenges or things to look for to do this migration?
    Thanks,
    Ayyappa

    Hi,
We have two node architecture for R12.1.1 on windows 2008 32 Bit. One node for Database and the other node for application.
As we are facing a lot of memory issues, we are planning to go for 64 Bit.
I Have already read the document
Migrating Oracle E-Business Suite R12 to Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 [ID 1188535.1]
The doc says in place OS upgrades are not supported....
    So my question is...
While keeping the production, how can i migrate using the same servers. Coz my company does not want to buy new servers..
Please suggest.Complete all the steps in the doc for Rapid Clone and other steps, then take a backup of the files after you run preclone and create a trace file for the database. Once you have the backup ready, install a 64-bit version of the OS and install 11gR2 software and restore the files from the backup and complete the migration.
    Thanks,
    Hussein
