AppStore Financial Report Generator

I wrote the AppStore Report Generator out of need. I wanted a way to track my monthly and overall sales reports of my apps. Well apple conveniently sends out monthly financial reports but they are in CSV or comma separated value format. The only way to really manipulate and calculate data is to import each sheet into Microsoft Excel and then do calculations that way. Its very tedious every month, I wanted a way to just drop my TXT reports from apple into a directory and then run an app that would do all the calculations and *currency conversion* for me. Thus AppStore Reporter was born.

Why .NET? I know the Mac guys will be ****** I wrote this to run on Windows only but I am a full time programmer in my day job. I don't use Macs or Cocoa so I figure I would bone up my skills on a language I don't know a lot about so I decided to write this in .NET as a teaching tool for myself. Other than that, no reason I picked .NET.
The application is available FREE if anyone is interested at all. Once again sorry to all the Mac developers but this is Windows Only.

Hyperion Financial Reporting - #missing Suppression causing report not to generate 11.1.2.2

Hi,
We recently went live with an implementation of 11.1.2.2 and have build large report suite in Financial reporting to accompany the release. Over the weekend we patched up to 11.1.2.2.305.4195 however we have began to notice our FR reports are failing to generate and hang at a white screen for both HTML and PDF views.
After a little digging it looks that the issue is with any report that has suppress #missing on rows. If I take this suppression off the report will generate successfully. This is not an acceptable solution for us as many of our reports will run into 100's/1000's of lines.
Has anyone else experienced this recently and if so, are there any other fixes to be suggested. I'm assuming this is a bug introduced with 11.1.2.2.305
For reference we are also running the following versions.
Reporting and Analysis Framework - 11.1.2.2.000.998
Oracle® Hyperion Financial Reporting, Fusion Edition - 11.1.2.2.0.0387

Hi, We have but awaiting a response. Interestingly I've did some testing and suppression does work if I go via the advanced suppression option which although a inconvenient to rework the reports does give a solution.
Additionally I've noticed a couple of other issues with suppression across the application so looks to be more widespread.
1) Webforms are no longer suppression #missing both in the application and also when downloaded to Excel.
2) Intercompany reports no longer suppress when we set tolerance to say 10% etc.
Each in itself can be worked around but annoying non the less.

Financial statement generator & Oracle Reports Manager

We are moving into Oracle Apps R12.1.3 on Solaris. Most end user machines are Windows 7 & going to be Windows 8. Some are Windows XP. Majority have Microsoft 2007 and some have Microsoft 2010.
Financial Statement Generator (FSG) reports are called from GL Super user as well as Oracle Reports Manager. Attempt being made to open FSG reports directly in Oracle Reports Manager > Excel with drill down.
Experiencing errors (of VB) , after some patching seeing Blank Excelsheet. Though same FSG report can be open with Values in Oracle Reports Manager > html and pdf.
Any body experienced this in recent past.

Thanks for the reply and I do have access but apart from standard/customized reports, sometimes users create their own reports using FSGs where they pull GL data (No sub-ledgers) by defining rows and columns and many more features.
For eg: pulling up trial balance report by cost centers
Is there any equivalent of these Financial Statement Generators in SAP.
I was thinking about defining the "Variants" in each report and run variants but then thats not limited to GL, I guess

Error 500 Internal Server Error" When Generating Hyperion Financial Reports in PDF Format

We are unable to open pdf reports in Workspace with the following error. It was all working fine and doesn't work now for unknown reasons.

a) the parameter is named DESFORMAT not :DESFORMAT, there is
no : in front of the name, if you submit it via URL !
b) there are some issues with acrobat5 and IE but those are not
only caused by PDFs generated with oracle reports.

I've tried with S_PLO_86000028 Financial Statement report and it could generate report based on Profit Center but when I tried with Cost Center, it show no record. Can this report generate cost center wise report?

S_PL0_86000028 is a new FI report for Financial Statement, created by tool Report Painter with tcode FGI1 (Create Drill-down Report).
For adding new columns, I think we can modify the form it used (0SAPBSPL-01)
It's not a good idea to copy it to z-program 'coz I still struggle with it and doesn't work well.

How to use Adobe Distiller in Win 2k8 server 64-bit for Financial Reporting

Hi All,
We need to use the Adobe Distiller in Windows 2008 Server SP2 OS for generating PDF reports in Financial Reporting. However, the Adobe Distiller installation recognises the OS version i.e. 32-bit or 64-bit and installs itself automatically.
Now, the problem is that Hyperion Financial Reporting supports only 32-bit version of Adobe Distiller. Has anyone faced a similar issue or can anyone provide some lead into this?

The version is 11.1.2.0
When we were unable to print the PDF reports, we raised an SR during which it was informed that
only 32-bit version of Adobe Distiller is supported. This can also be due to implied dependency. As
per the support matrix, if we use Win 2008 SP2 as the OS, only 32-bit binaries for FR is supported.
Hence, it implies that only 32-bit Adobe Distiller might be supported for generating PDF output.

Please allow more than 13 digits in the financial report calculation

Dear SAP development team,
I would like to suggest the financial report programming code or query or what else that is used to generate the financial reports (TB;P&L;BS) could allow the calculation of debit or credit more than 9223372036854. It made me laugh that it is not allowed.
Why I said so ? Here are the reasons:
1. The report data is not stored on a specific table
2. If the report has calculated debit or credit greater than 9223372036854 while report processing is taking place, the report should still be appears but the amount of debit or credit that greater than 9223372036854, please put the zero on the debit or credit.
I expect that we could still use the report either money overflow happened.

My colleagues came across that problem recently. I advised them to split the transaction and create several transaction instead thereby avoinding using more than 13 digits.
Another way that came to my mind is to create a new currency with excnage rate (say) 1:1000 . And create the transaction using this currency.
Can't say that both solutions are perfect but I am afraid these are only ones.

Oracle Financial Reports designing in XML

Hello Oracle Professionals.
I have idea to design the reports in pdf format under 10g reports builder .
Today my boss ask me to design some reports in XML format for Oracle Financials (Supplier Statement, Voucher detail Report).
I dont know how to do this in XML, even I also dont know how to upload XML reports in Oracle EBS.
Please guide me how to design the reports in XML for E-Bussiness Suite and how to upload them.
A document to do these task + an idea will be much enough for me.

Hi, well there a couple of things you'll have to do and there's many ways of doing some so I'll ty to stay at high level just to explain.
First look at XML Publisher designer guide, Search the internet for detailed wlak-thru...
I assume that your boss asked you to design financial reports using BI Publisher. If so, here's high level steps/things you should know.
1 - BI Publisher Report (Data and Layout)
a- Query and layout are now separated (compared to old rdf report).
b- An xml file (data definition) using a certain structure is used to query and structure data (which will end up in an xml file)
c- layout are done using a plugin within word which is usually referred as BI Publisher development tools. (You'll need to install this plugin)
d- The layout are done using word capabilities but you have to incorporate fields and logic in it in order to display data that have been queried.
e- Template needs to be in .rtf format
Once this is done, in Oracle apps.
2 - Define a concurrent program with an XML output using Oracle executable (XDODTEXE) which put all the things together and generate you BI Report.
3 - Under XML Publisher Responsibility, you'll have to define your template and data definition
- Under Data definition tab, create a data definition and upload you data definition created in step 1a
- Under Template tab, create a template and upload you layout created in 1c,1d,1e
4 - Add you report to a request group and test it thru a reponsibility.

Oracle has FSG that unables users to generate reports out of Oracle GL. Is there any equivalent report generator in SAP for users to create reports on ad-hoc basis.

Cache memory usage of Hyperion Planning, Workspace and Financial Reporting

We have installed Hyperion Planning, Workspace and Financial Reporting in one single server and we would like to know is there any cache memory setting can be fine tuned to improved the overall online performance of the system.
How can we control the memory usage of individual user logged into Workspace and Hyperion Planning? And if users generate a large size report in Financial Reporting, should more memory be allocated to the user so as to speed up the report generation speed?

Our onsite consultants told us that as we have many web forms and some web forms contains lot of cells, the compiled Hyperion Planning application is quite large (> 1GB) and sometimes may have "out of memory" problem. We just wonder we are using 64bit version of Windows 2003 we should have a much larger memory address space. How can we improve the "out of memory" issue?
Or Hyperion Planning is still a 32 bit application?

Hyperion Financial Reports books issue

I am trying to generate books using Hyperion Financial reporting in Excel. But, I do see only PDF or HTML options to create books. Is there any other way we can create HFR book in excel with separate tabs for dimenions members in the Page drop down? Please advise.

There isn't an option to create Hyperion Books in Excel, however you can create a Smart View report in Excel and use the cascade feature, which prompts the user to create the dimension to use (it must be in the POV).
This will create a tab per member selected for the report, it will even duplicate charts if you have created them in the base Excel report.

We understand we can turn on audit to capture the user login (authentication) in Hyperion Planning. Can we have the same option/feature for Financial Reporting to turn on audit so that we know that which reports in one day was generated by end users?
