Aqualogic ESB 2.5----EJB

hi,
im using aqualogic ESB 2.5.i want to add a ejb as a business service.i imported the jar file in esb as a business resource. but then im getting the following error..
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:weblogic/ejb20/interfaces/WLEnterpriseBean
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:weblogic/ejb20/internal/EntityEJBLocalHome
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:weblogic/ejb20/persistence/spi/CMPBean
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:weblogic/ejb20/internal/StatelessEJBHome
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:weblogic/ejb20/internal/StatelessEJBObject
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:weblogic/ejb20/internal/EntityEJBLocalObject

It's been a while since I've looked at this, but I think you're going about this the wrong way. If I understand what you're saying, you put the EJB implementation classes into a jar and imported that as a resource. There's no way that's going to work, for several reasons.
It would be best if you took a look at the ALSB user guide, the chapter titled "EJB Transport". This talks about the components you have to set up to use an EJB in ALSB.

  • Aqualogic ESB Capabilities beyond web services ?

I'm new to Aqualogic 2.0 ESB and I'm exploring integration posibilities and scenarios where it will be useful.
I have some questions regarding limitations and interoperability with other:
    - is there an overlap between ALSB 2.0 and WebLogic Integration?
    - Is posible to integrate something like a back end system using CICS (ECI) and a client using web services via AquaLogic ? if so, How ?
    - How can I use the underlying capabilities of the underlying WebLogic 9.0 server (i.e J2EE Connectors, jdbc pools, etc) from Aqualogic ?
    - Can I publish an EJB remote interface running in another app. server as a "service" in Aqualogic 2.0
    thanx in advance

I've only gone as far as reading high-level information and seeing some demos, but I think I can answer some of this.
Concerning the difference between ALSB and WLI, it's expected that WLI could be used to build a service that would be an ALSB endpoint. ALSB is a "no coding" interface. You simply define endpoints, transports, and routing rules. WLI is a development platform.
I'm not sure how to interpret the CICS question. Does your client have a web service invocation API? If so, then you could integrate that with ALSB.
To sort of answer the last two questions with a summary, if you can provide a web compatible interface to a component, then you can integrate it with ALSB. That interface could a web service or JMS. Depending on what version of things you're using, you can automatically provide a web service interface to an EJB session bean.

  • Non destructive JMS read via aqualogic esb

    Hi,
I have written an aqualogic proxy service which reads from jms queue and passes it to business service which in turn invokes a service on another machine (weblogic app server). What I would like do is if there is a problem reading message at the service consumer (on another machine), I dont want message deleted in my queue. I think by default when aqualogic proxy service sends message to bussiness service, the message is getting deleted from queue. I would like to control this and be able to do a non destructive read from the queue. Any pointers or help will be greatly appreciated
Edited by kolansuresh at 10/10/2007 3:29 PM

    That's pretty easy.
Make sure you use an XA connection factory to retrieve message from JMS queue and also you have to make sure your implementation of the business service throws an error when there is a problem.
This way you use the standard weblogic jms errorhandling mechanism and you can even configure how many retries to do and to do what queue to forward if message keeps going wrong.

Most likely you have set an invalid ORACLE_SID. What Services do you have running on the machine. The database services look something like OracleService(ORACLE_SID). Services are located under Administrative tools.

  • WLI as an Enterprise Service Bus (ESB)?

    Hi!
BEA has previously sold WLI 8.1 as an ESB. See e.g. http://dev2dev.bea.com/pub/a/2004/12/soa_ibarra.html
Now that AquaLogic Service Bus has beed launched, it seems that the two products have much in common and some overlapping functionalities. E.g. both products have support for messaging and transformations.
For me it seems that the role of the two is not clearly defined.
What is new with AquaLogic Service Bus? What is the big difference? Why not just use WLI as previously described in the article by Ibarro?
    Any thoughts? All input appreciated.

I also think that same way. I do not know what is so apecial about BEA Aqualogic ESB and other market matured ESB products such as TIBCO & SONIC. The samples which BEA has given in their evaluation guide are very simplistic. BEA should do more to provide extensive knowledge/features about their Aqualogic line of products.

  • Comparison between ODI and Enterprise Service Bus (ESB)

    Hi,
As per my knowledge Oracle has provided two infrastructures, namely ODI and ESB for migrating data across applications.
My query is where I should use ESB and where ODI. Is there any comparison document available? I heard that for bulk data movement ODI is suggested by Oracle. Is there any benchmark exists for comparing these two tools?
I also want to map these tools with Oracle E-Business suite's conversion process. Is it possible to map each stage of a traditional Conversion Process (Data Loading, Validating, Importing to Oracle EBusiness Suite) using these tools?
Any kind of help/idea will be very much appreciated.
    Regards.

    Hi,
i have a question about setting up the OC4J server to
check against a cert revocation list (CRL) when:
    1. SSL in standalone OC4J (no oracle http server)Probably not supported.
    2. ws-security x.509 token profile (authenticate user by cert)OC4J + WS_SECURITY doesn't support CRL-s, sorry.

  • SOAP Access from ALBPM Studio

I have a problem on accessing a webservice via SOAP. In detail: the webservice is developped in .NET (with Visual Studio .NET). I just took the WSDL file and generated the Service in ALBPM Studio. So far everything works fine. But if i try to access the webservice though the access of the method generally works fine, some parameters do not reach the webservice. On analyzing the soap message i found that the problem seems to be that in the relatively complicated parameter (array of int) the namespace is not used correctly (the int in the array has the wrong namespace and can't be interpreted by the webservice). So my question is: is this a known problem of the ALBPM Studio? Btw we have a similar problem when we access the Aqualogic ESB from ALBPM Studio. So it really looks like a problem of the ALBPM Studio. Thank in advance for any comments!

I know I am trudging up a very old thread here, but has there been any resolution to this issue of passing arrays over SOAP? It seems like using arrays of simple types in web services would be a fairly common occurence, but this is the only thread I could find on the subject.
I am using ALBPM 5.7 and haven't seen anything in newer release notes that would indicate this has been resolved.
    Thanks!

  • Setting nonProxyHosts property not working

How do you set the nonProxyHosts property for Jrockit 1.5.0_11. We are trying to set this property for Aqualogic ESB which is using Jrockit by setting this property in net.properties under Jrockit but it does not seem to honor it. It seems to pick up proxyHost property though.

Well the issue is when I run the installSvc.cmd to install Aqualogic as a service and I am setting environment variable JAVA_OPTIONS with -DnonProxyHosts with a pipe (|) delimited list (e.g host1|host2|host3), but the script barfs and I think it does not like pipe symbol. May be this is more of a Aqualogic question than a JRockit one, or may be a windows script. Do you know if I need to escape the pipe symbol somehow? I tried escaping it with ^ but that did not help.

To me, and from what I've seen on most forums, bumping means to put a short reply against a particular thread so that it temporarily goes to the top of the active threads.
To tell people to 'forget the whole thing' you could just let the thread go or reply with 'Nevermind'. However, replying to the thread at all raises it to the top again so people are more likely to read it than ignore it, which goes counter to what you're trying to acheive.

  • ESB : Is it possible to connect to a stateless EJB from ESB

    Dear Gurus,
I want my ESB to talk to a stateless session bean, without wrapping the stateless session bean as a web service.
Kindly let me know if it is possible to do so.
    Thanks in advance

I think the question is not whether it's technically possible using some sort of intermediate protocol, standard or technology -it is using WSIF, JAX-WS, JMS/AQ- but more the question what protocols are supported.
    The ESB developer's guide states:
The ESB Server supports multiple protocol bindings including
HTTP/SOAP, JMS, JCA, WSIF, and Java that ensure guaranteed, reliable message delivery using synchronous/asynchronous, request/reply or publish/subscribe models. However, the ESB Server does not support Remote Method Invocation (RMI).
    and
Oracle Enterprise Service Bus utilizes WSIF bindings in a WSDL document to
perform native Java calls to external java interfaces. WSIF is also used internally
    by the JCA framework.
So invoking EJB's through RMI is not natively supported by Oracle ESB.
For an example on how to use WSIF to invoke Java in ESB see: http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/integration/esb/files/esbsamples.zip
BEA AquaLogic Service Bus supports native RMI invocations: http://e-docs.bea.com/alsb/docs261/userguide/ejbtransport.html

  • Can't I invoque an EJB in the Oracle ESB??

    Hi all,
I'm just new on Oracle ESB and may be in error, but I have readed that RMI transport is not suported... Is it really true??
What can I do if I want to expose an EJB as a Web Service in the Oracle ESB??
    Regards David

I am doing the above quite successfully in a number of ESB processes.
My EJB's are exposed a EJB3 session beans with a web service interface and as mentioned, can be called via a SOAP service.

  • How to add a JDBC driver jar to ESB project?

I am developing an EJB project in JDeveloper 10.1.3.1. I am trying to connect MS SQL Server DB to the ESB. I set up the JDeveloper so it can connect to the MS SQL Server, list the tables&data. I put a DB Adapter using the existing connection to the diagram. When I deploy it to the Oracle AS I am getting oracle.toplink.exceptions.DatabaseException saying that the driver com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver was not found. How do I package the JAR to the project so it gets uploaded to the server with the project files? If it is not possible, where should I put the jar so the server can use it?

To get this working copy the jdbc jar file to the following directory
    %SOA_HOME%\j2ee\home\applib (basic)
    %SOA_HOME%\j2ee\oc4j_soa\applib (advanced)
If you don't configure your datasources and JNDI names then it will use the connect string from your project. It is always best practice to use the application server connections
    cheers

    Regards,

As I stated in my previous post, there is an issue with the BPEL process not responding back to ESB in a timely manner.
Unfortunately I don't have your process infront of me so it will require some thinking on your behalf to undersatnd how and why this may be happening.
    Things to ask yourself.
    - Is the data getting past correctly from the ESB to BPEL
    - What happend to the BPEL process that the ESB called
    - Is the ESB calling the BPEL process you are expecting, check server, and bpel versions
    - What does the opmn or domain logs say
    cheers
    James
