[Arch 64 bit] Powernow-k8 not loading at boot, loads fine afterwards

I get the same error.
Has anyone solved it?

Thanks for seperating this topic.
Now 'powernow-k8' is starting fine. I don't no why, but it starts.

  • 64-bit driver does not load at boot

    Hi.
After recompiling a scsi target driver for 64 bits, it does not load automatically at boot time as it does if booting 32-bit kernel.
The 64-bit module is copied to /usr/kernel/drv/sparcv9. the <driver>.conf file is in /usr/kernel/drv. Using add_drv is fine, it attaches and loads the driver (the driver works also).
It also loads using modload manually after boot or calling it from /etc/rc3 or so.
what else is required on 64-bit kernel to get the autoload?
    Thanks,
    Luis.

  • Crash, crash, crash The application arch quit unexpectedly.  could not load inserted library (???)

I keep getting the notice on my desktop, "The application arch quit unexpectedly.  could not load inserted library: /Library/Application Support/DriveGenius/libdf.dylib".
If I dismiss the notice it reappears in 10 seconds., crashes every 10 seconds.
I'm assuming that Application Arch is an archive file.
I've got several hundred archive files according to the app "Find Any File", dunno which is the offending one.
In /Library/Application Support there's no DriveGenius/libdf.dylib to be found, not even in ~Library/Application Support. I can't even locate a DriveGenius/libdf.dylib file anywhere in my system.
I don't even have DriveGenius installed.
Where do I go from here?

Drive Genius must've been installed at one time & not completely removed.
You may have to install it again to remove it, or see if it has an uninstaller uption in the installer.
Might Check System Preferences>Accounts>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed.
Also look in these if they exist, some are invisible...

Stop using Safari and use a real browser
Seriously though...try downloading the installer via a different browser.
If you want more relevant assistance if would help to know what "I can not install" means.  Any errors?

  • Module powernow-k8 not found at boot

Hi, I'm having problems with cpufrequtils.
    I got powernow-k8 and cpufreq-ondemand listed in rc.conf, but powernow-k8 isn't loaded at boot:
    FATAL: Module powernow_k8 not found
Everything works fine, when I load it manually with modprobe. Any ideas how to make load it at boot?

    You could append
    modprobe powernow-k8
to your rc.local making it being loaded sometimes later at boot.

  • Could not load file or assembly CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.Controller

    Hello
I am getting this error in Visual Studio 2010 on Windows 7 64 bit.
Could not load file or assembly 'CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.Controllers, Version=13.0.2000.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=692....1304' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
I installed CR redistributable on the workstation and verified that the file does in fact exist and is the correct version.
    Please help.

Hi Ludek, thanks for your reply. Sorry if I'm confusing you, but I'm a bit confused myself
Here is what I hope is a better explanation.
The way it works is that we have a web application in IIS on Windows Server 2008 64-bit. What we do is copy the templates (ASPX files) and bin (DLL) files to the Windows Server's IIS via Team Foundation. The files are accessed with a web browser. We don't compile/debug because previously, our CMS's code behinds were mixed C# and VB and the application would not compile. However, the files can still be accessed via a web browser and the dynamic website worked fine. "Debugging" was done via trial and error on a testing server.
Now, we have upgraded the CMS so all the code behinds are C# and the site should compile. One of our web apps (that doesn't use Crystal Reports) has compiled successfully and I am currently doing the second one. I am trying to compile the whole application for the first time on my workstation, but the Crystal Reports DLLs are causing errors. I used the 64-bit re-distributable Crystal Reports for Visual Studio version 13_0_1 because I wanted to make sure I had the same version as our Web servers.
We do not run the web app from the IDE (have never been able to), except for now when I am trying to build/compile on my workstation via Visual Studio. In production it is accessed on the web server via web browsers only.
I hope this makes more sense as to what I am trying to do. Thanks for the link but I am afraid if I install 13_0_2 I will start getting version conflicts.as the server has 13_0_1 64-bit.
Thanks for your help so far and I hope this helps!

  • [SOLVED] Many modules are not loaded in the Arch USB key installation.

    Hello!
I installed Arch Linux on my USB key. I did it few months ago and it worked, I had portable arch.
Yesterday I decided to make a fresh installation. Unfortunately after booting it from my USB key
most of the modules were not loaded. Because of that I couldn't start the X server and connect to
the internet (ethernet card was not detected).
Even after loading the module which corresponds to my ethernet card manually (modprobe e1000e) it was not
    displayed in the lsmod list.
I though "maybe I screwed something up during the installation?". To find out I used GParted to copy
my OS partition (perfectly working Arch Linux installed on the hard drive) to the USB key. Of course I changed the UUID of the USB partition.
After booting it I was suprised because the situation did not change - modules that are loaded on my main system for some
reason were not loaded on it's exact copy placed on the USB key.
I have no idea why my portable OS is acting like this.
Commands below were executed on another PC so don't look for the e1000e module.

I installed windows ultimate 64 bit, Tried to install firefox for my default browser. Internet explorer loads everything like normal, no problem but firefox will not load or does after 5 mins +
I checked my firewall windows provides and Avira to see if they were blocking, Found nothing of anything being blocked.
This is a fresh installed windows 7, No viruses or malware

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

    Hi,
Could you download the appropriate version of the installer from the following page?
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/889580?tstart=0
Once downloaded, please quit all of your browsers and launch the installer.  If it still fails, please restart your system and try again.  Let me know how it goes.
    Thanks,

  • I cannot use itunes with windows 7. I think the problem has something to do with the fact that a 32 bit xp version was loaded on my machine. I can't uninstall it and the 64 bit version will not install.

I cannot use tunes with windows 7. A 32 bit xp version was loaded from my prior computer. It will not uninstall. The 64 bit version will noit install.

  • Windows 7 64-bit not loading USB mass storage driver

I have a rather strange problem with my Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.  Everything seems to work fine except for USB mass storage devices.  I have USB keyboard, mouse and even a USB audio (wireless headset) all working fine on the computer.  But
any USB external drive, thumdrive or USB card reader with flash cards inserted into the USB port of my computer won't work.
Windows keeps reporting that it is unable to find the driver.  When I go into the Device Manager console and choose to manually update the driver, then point it to the C:\Windows (with search for sub-directories enabled), it detects the USB Mass Storage
driver but complains that it is unable to load it.  The exact message is this:  Windows found driver software for your device but encountered error while attempting to install it.  USB Mass Storage Device.  The system cannot find the file
    specified.
This happens to ALL USB Mass storage device, and it doesn't matter which port I plug the device into.
Here's the weird thing, I have VMware Workstation installed on this computer and if I power on a VM that runs Windows 7 32-bit as the Guest OS and connect the USB storage devices to the guest OS via VMware Workstation, the USB storage devices work!
So it would appear that the USB ports are functioning properly but for some reasons, my Windows 64-bit is unable to load the driver.
Any idea how to fix this besides a "nuke it from orbit" and format/reinstall Windows?
    Thanks.

I'm very excited to finally have a solution for this problem. Thank You Balaji for figuring this out. I've been struggling with this for a number of years, and had only one USB Hard Drive that worked. I too have VMware workstation, and had the missing files
in "c:\windows\inf." I can say with certainty that I did not delete the files from that folder, but something is common in both of our situations. Maybe it has to do with VMware, and some of it's updates over the years. I'm also using nCompute to share out
a networked desktop via the wire.
One more thing worthy of mention is this machine was an update from Windows Vista, and the USB hard drive that worked was configured back than. So although I could never add another HD, at least I had the one.
Now with having copied over the files, I can plugin other USB enclosures with different drives and they too are working.
Like you mentioned, it was always possible to use USB devices within my Virtual Machines, so it was clear that the USB ports were functional. I actually got the files from a clean Windows 7 VM, copying out the \windows\inf folder and doing a compare between
the the real one and the virtual one. I found the two missing files you mentioned, along with 8 others. I went ahead and included them all in your fix.
It worked, Amazing. Thanks again. :O)

  • Oracle.DataAccess.dll not loading in 64 - bit OS

    Hi All
I have a console application that needs to be scheduled in task manager. My system is 32-bit operating system and I’m using Oracle.DataAccess.dll in my application to establish connection to the oracle db. The version is 2.112.1.0 and the processor architecture of this dll in C:\Windows\Assembly is x86. In my local m/c this dll works fine with all 3 build and target platforms – x64, x86 or AnyCPU. But when I copy the files to my staging server which is a 64-bit OS I’m getting the following exception. (Note: I’m also having Oracle.DataAccess version 10.2.0.100 which is also x86 available in C:\Windows\Assembly)
System.BadImageFormatException: Could not load file or assembly 'Oracle.DataAccess, Version=2.112.1.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89b483f429c47342' or one of its dependencies. An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format.

I have tried to build the application to target AnyCPU / x64 / x86. It fails in all 3 scenarios.
There are other applications in the staging server where Oracle connection can be established. So ODP.Net should be registered in the server. So looks like problem with my console app. Does anyone have any idea what could be the problem?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sree

If I'm reading your post correctly, your application is built using ODP.net 2.112.1.0 (an 11gR2 client) and your other system has 10.2.0.100 (a 10g client).
That's your problem. When .net tries to load the assembly, it looks for 2.112.1.0. Policy files that get installed when you install the client would allow it to use a newer version instead (like 2.112.3.0), but not to use an older version. So .net doesn't think you have a compatible Oracle client installed.
You could manually add assembly binding redirects to force it to load 10.2.0.100, but I really don't recommend that given some differences between 10g and 11g (I tried that once and had some weird problems). You could also build the application using 10.2.0.100 instead.
The best fix for this is to install 2.112.1.0 on the other system, or try out the managed client when it's out of beta (which doesn't need to be installed at all).

  • Whitecap could not load in 64 bit mode error when opening iTunes. What do I do?

Upgraded to Lion recently. Opened iTunes and got a "Whitecap could not load in 64 bit mode". Tried to sync my iphone a few times but iTunes crashed. Managed to fix the problem by making iTunes run in 32bit mode only. My version of iTunes is 10.4 (80). Something is wrong here though as I thought this version is a 64 bit version.

there's a system library and each user has a library. have you ever installed something and the installer asked you if you wanted to install it for all users? it would put that in the system library. the way you installed this whitecap plugin for itunes as your user, my user can still log onto the same machine and not be affected by it. why did they hide the user's library folder? i guess they felt you wouldn't need to go in there and mess things up on accident. the other way to get to these "hidden" folders is by going to finder and clicking the Go menu then Go To Folder (Shift + Command + G). it's even tab completable, which is nice =)
