Arch64 - Opera - Flash

Hello,
What is the easiest way of getting flash to work in Opera running under Arch64?  I've tried many things without success.
Thanks.

Not sure if you checked the wiki or not but it worked for me.
http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ins … _on_Arch64
I tried the Opera specific steps at the bottom but they didn't work.
I just followed the nspluginwrapper-flash steps
Also check in Opera that the required path to plugin is set
Tools->Preferences->Advanced->Plugin options

  • Operational Flash Version # Not Updated After Upgrade?

    I've just upgraded my 11050's to 5.00 build 69.
    When I look at a "show version", the new version is displayed but the operational and locked flash still list build 33. Anyone else run into this or know what could cause this?
    Here's the output:
    B5-CSS-1# sho ver
    Version: ap0500069 (5.00 Build 69)
    Flash (Locked): 5.00 Build 33
    Flash (Operational): 5.00 Build 33
    Type: PRIMARY
    Licensed Cmd Set(s): Standard Feature Set

    I used these documents when upgrading. I used the manual upgrade method instead of using the script.
    1. copied code to the CSS
    2. unpacked the image
    3. set the primary boot-image
    4. rebooted
    The response I got from TAC on this is that the operational flash is only updated when going to a new major release, not maintenance releases.
    All indications are that I am running the newer version despide the wrong operational version # showing up. Perhaps this is just an issue with this particular code version?, i.e. When the code was compiled, there was a version number parameter somewhere that wasn't updated?

  • [SOLVED] Arch64, Opera and plugins library problem

    I have Arch64 with Opera 64-bit as default browser. I have succesfully installed 32-bit flashplugin and it works nicely. The only problem is that fonts cannot be read from the flash player context menu and Open File dialog opened from flash player. The problem is that flashplugin tries to load 64-bit GTK from /usr/lib/gtk-2.0/2.10.0/ and it fails. 32-bit version is installed and it's located in /opt/lib32/usr/lib/gtk-2.0/2.10.0/.
    Gtk-WARNING **: /usr/lib/gtk-2.0/2.10.0/engines/libmurrine.so: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64
    Gtk-WARNING **: /usr/lib/gtk-2.0/2.10.0/engines/libpixmap.so: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64
    Also I have library loading problem with totem-plugin. It cannot find libxul.so and libxpcom.so, but both library files are located in /usr/lib/xulrunner-1.9.0.1/. The plugin loads fine if I create links to both files in /usr/lib/. But that doesn't seem like right solution to me.
    $ ldd libtotem-mully-plugin.so
    libglib-2.0.so.0 => /usr/lib/libglib-2.0.so.0 (0x00007f94e19d9000)
    libtotem-plparser-mini.so.10 => /usr/lib/libtotem-plparser-mini.so.10 (0x00007f94e17d6000)
    libxul.so => not found
    libxpcom.so => not found
    libplds4.so => /usr/lib/libplds4.so (0x00007f94e15d2000)
    What would be a most elegant way of solving these two library loading problems?
    I think that symbolic links and moving files are not the most elegant way to solve the problem. Maybe some environment variable or some configuration setting would solve the problem (LDPATH comes to mind, but it seems that it doesn't work).
    EDIT: I wasn't sure in which section to post this question, so feel free to move it if necessary.

    I have solved my problem and I will post my solution because it can be usefull to others.
    First the problem with flashplugin and GTK library path. Opera uses operapluginwrapper scirpt to detect if the plugin is 32-bit or 64-bit and after detection it uses operapluiginwrapper-ia32-linux for 32-bit or operapluginwrapper-native for 64-bit plugins. operapluiginwrapper-ia32-linux loads the 32-bit flashplugin in my case which requires GTK, but it incorectly tries to load it form /usr/lib/gtk-2.0/ where 64-bit version of GTK resides.
    The solution is to set the GTK_PATH environment variable to point to /opt/lib32/usr/lib/gtk-2.0/ where 32-bit version resides. But if you set it globaly it will result in problems with other 64-bit applications. So the correct solution is to add following lines on the bottom of the operapluginwrapper script above the exec line:
    case "$wrapper" in
    *ia32*)
    export GTK_PATH="/opt/lib32/usr/lib/gtk-2.0"
    export PANGO_RC_FILE="/opt/lib32/config/pango/pangorc"
    esac
    In this way the 32-bit paths will be active only for operapluginwrapper-ia32-linux process.
    I have solved the other problem with totem-plugin requesting libxul.so and libxpcom.so, but the solution idoesn't matter because, although totem-plugin loads coreclty it doesn't work in opera. I have installed mplayer-plugin which works as it should. Also gecko-mediaplayer works correctly with opera, I have tested them both. Install one of the two plugins that work, and you will be fine.

  • [SOLVED] Opera + Flash = No Fullscreen on Youtube :/

    Hi,
    I've noticet that I can't force Opera to show Youtube content in fullscreen mode. I was talking to my mate who is using Ubuntu (with the same - latest - version of Opera 9.20 and the same Flash plugin 9.0r31) and he is using it just fine. Do you guys have the same problem? Or is it me ;P I was trying it on Beryl turned off and nothing changed. When I press fulscreen icon on youtube player the movie stops (keep loading thou) but nothing happens.
    Any ideas?
    SOLUTION: Ok for any one as dumb as I - the "Block unwanted pop-ups" option seem to block the Fullscreen videos, turn the option OFF or set the preferences for youtube page not to block the unwanted pop-ups. Strange that Opera is concidering the Fullscreen as "unwanted"
    Sorry for making a 'big deal' about the whole problem
    Peace.

    QUESTION:
    I constantly use in-browser flash. And I've tried quite a few browsers, computers, different computers with differnent operating systems. They've all done the same thing. CRASH. Over, and over, and over again. 10 times or more per day. Yes, I play the Facebook games, but I also use it for in-browser radio/video. It is one of the most annoying things I've ever had to endure on a computer. If there was something else I could use, I'd already downloaded it and deleted Adobe Flash. But since there really isn't anything at the moment, I'm stuck having to write this up and hope that there is a fix. There are thousands with this issue online. If I find a fix here, I will gladly share it with every person I know.
    But back to the issue. Whether I have one tab open, or twenty. Flash crashes about every 20-30 minutes. Every now and then, it'll hit an hour. I've also turned off Google Chrome's built-in flash and vise versa. I've gone through so many helps and fixes online it's not even funny.  If there's any kind of fix that I can do that will stop all these crashes, I would appreciate this very much.  I can't list every little detail I've ever done on this forum, but I will tell you if I have already tried anything that is said here. I hope someone says something new and we can get this thing fixed.
    --Oh yeah, and this has gone on since my computer was an hour old. Back a couple years ago. Back a couple wipes ago..  I've factory reset 3 times I believe since I got this computer. Don't ask, just how I am. Junk happens and from time to time I like to wipe it all out. Just how I do. I have external drives so everything gets backed up and becomes rather easy to wipe my computer.

    I couldn't have written it better myself. I did exactly what is talked about here and feel exactly the same way,

  • APX Intermittently Operational (Flashing Amber Light)

    For several months I have enjoyed wireless conectivity through my AirPort Express connected to my DSL router. When attempting to connect the other day I was unable to access the network eventhough I had full signal strength. Upon examining the AirPort Express I noticed the indicator light flashing amber. I tried everything in my limited bag of tricks to get it up an running again, but it will only work intermittently for short bursts before returning to the flashing amber light.
    Here's what I have tried...
    Soft Reset
    I reset the base station through the AirPort Admin Utility.
    Hard Reset
    I reset the base station by pressing the button until the indicator light flashed and used the AirPort Setup Assistant to reconfigure the station.
    Turned It Off - DHCP Lease Renewal
    I turned off the DSL router, the AirPort Express, and the computer overnight.
    Changed Firmware
    I loaded an earlier version of the Airport Express firmware after reading on the forum that it solved some of the problems with the AirPort Extreme.
    I am able to access the internet via the ethernet port, so I dont suspect any problems with my DSL router setup. I have a strong signal and dont suspect any interference.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi andrewlrogers and welcome to Discussions,
    Seems you have tried a lot of different solutions. But have you done a Software Update for you OSX. The quickest way is to click on the Closed Apple in the very top Left of your screen and Select Software Update.
    After this update you might have to reboot your computer. Also, you might have to do a Power Cycle your Modem and your Airport Express. Maybe you might have to do another Hard Reset to your Airport Express, following Hard Reset instructions in this article: Airport Express Reset
    hope this helps and let us know what happens....

  • Opera 11.0 will not upgrade it's flash player however firefox will

    Ok i'm going to give my information. I have windows xp sp3 pro 32bit. I upgraded internet explorer to flash 10.3.183.7 and I upgraded firefox 3.6 but opera will not upgrade. I do not get a error notice but when I do the upgrade and then check at the adobe site firefox has upgaded but opera hasn't. I have administrative rights so what do i do now? I tried having firefox download and save then open. I tried having opera do the same and i tried just having opera open using run?

    Ok this is what i found. I have been on this for most of the day.  I found out that opera is using a firefox plugin for flash in program  files/mozilli/firefox/plugins/nppdf32.dll.  Now firefox is using the flash plugin that i downloaded in windows/system32/macromed/flash. I have no clue how to link them and the plugin folder in opera is empty. In the windows system folder  that has flash in there  are four objects,two are active x for internet explorer and what's left is a  flashutil10w_ plugin and flash10w.ocx'. I have no clue  if I can  link this folder to opera. i was going to try and download a flash player for portble opera browsers but I'm too confused.Can anyone give me a idea? i have looked at almost every opera flash instalation guide and the more i look at the more confused i am. Thanks I know this is not great reading. I'll stop back later.

  • Embedded objects do not scale on high-dpi displays

    I am using a new Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro laptop with a 3200 x 1800 display. Though in general the high-DPI scaling works to keep text sharp for most webpages (something that cannot be said for Chrome or Opera), Flash does not scale with the rest of the website. For example, when I watch a Youtube video, the text, objects, etc. scale appropriately, but the buttons for the flash player are very small.

    Does this occur with all flash content?
    Please consider contacting the Adobe support team about this issue.<br>
    I think that maybe Flash Player is not compatible with this high screen resolution.

  • Pro 2.0 and CS4 not enough ram and fddshow.

    I would be very happy if somebody might help me..
    Exporting like above cause that movie is about 100x accelerated and remaining footage is whole black and blind, i mean 100minutes material is squeezed into 1 minute and remaining 99 minutes are black and no sound, but exporting with xvid or dxiv of 264 codec is fine.
    Problem 4.
    When exporting to microsoft avi 640x480 30 fps 2x44.1kHz pcm uncompressed it takes ages to export and problem is not harddrive.
    Problem 3:
    movies from youtube etc converted to avi are starting fddshow filter, one per each footage movies. It become unstable at about 30 fddshows started.
    Movies from canon are read by adobe without probelm.
    Problem 2:
    When there is no k-lite in the system and i start premiere ram consumption goes from 0 to 1.8GB and software tells me: resources critical and when hittin 1.95GB i tells me not enough resources and disappears - this both apply to pro 2.0 and cs4 (difference is only that cs4 consumes ram by 2 processes not 1 like pro 2.0)
    When there i k-lite in system and i start adobe, ram consumption goes from 0 to 950MB and adobe is stable and workable, the same cs4.
    Problem 1:
    There are almost no effect in timeline, just volume and some footages are under txt, nothing more
    some photos bmp and jpegs
    sometimes movies from youtube downloaded by youtube downloader and changed from mp4 into 640x480 30fps avi by the same program
    footages from canon s2 and s5 mostly, 640x480 30fps motion jpeg in avi container, 2x44100 pcm
    materials:
    3 movie line + 3 sound lines
    640x480 progressive 30fps 2x44100
    setup:
    adobe premiere pro 2.0 and cs4
    t7200 + 4GB ram (visible 3.3) + win xp 32bit
    Equipment:
    Hello

    Hello
    My system is completly new:
    - 2 weeks old winndows xp sp2
    - comodo firewall (antivirus, defence, anti warm etc off)
    - opera
    - flash plugin
    - winamp 2.95beta
    - youtube downloader
    - app2.0 and cs4
    - k-lite
    - irfanview
    @Bill Hunt
    Please read my post one more time, from unknown reason for me Enter was working on this forum like: shift text down, and write above old txt, no idea why it happend but it happened, sorry.
    sources: canon s2 and s5 mostly: 640x480 30fps progressive, avi contained motion jpeg, easy compression, 10 minutes of such material is about 1GB, audio 2x44.1kHz 16 bits pcm (wav)
    alternative source which when added always starts ffdshow are movies from youtube downloaded by youtubedownloader to mp4, and changed into avi 640x480 2x44.1 by the same program, codec unknown i will tell you which coded when reaching home
    Project setup: 640x480, 30 fps (30.00000 not 29.97 etc) progressive scan, 2x44.1kHz I runs in laptop dell xps 1710 (4GB, t7200) but is connected to external nas with gigabit lan and is capable of speeds around 66MB/s
    Exporting target is: uncompressed avi, 640x480 30 fps sound pcm, which will be compressed later by virtual dub to x264 or xvid with sound as aac or mp3 or maybe even wav
    Movie will be exported to youtube in parts per 15 minutes, and located on my website.
    sometimes i export in adobe to avi (to check how it looks, and sent to family to check effect) with xvid coded areound 7 quantization, it looks ok, but shows artefacts is my cpu was busy with other task
    @Harm Millaard
    This is fairly clean install - please check above, i use 4 windowses on the same hard drive:
    - video editing, programming microcontrollers, general stuff, experiments with codecs, so "video editing windows" is not contaminated with other crap
    .  You ask why i am using k-lite. So when i dont have k-lite and start adobe and open project, adobe package eats ram and at level about 1.95GB is shows errors about system resources and crash itself (not crush just disappears from ram). I have no idea why it happens but it happens.

  • Desktop Projector Export Feature? Yeah? Yeah!!

    I would strongly recommend incorporating a Projector Export feature in Flash Builder 4. Despite having AIR support, I can't think of a single reason why this couldn't, easily, be done. Doing this now requires that every .swf file be opened manually in the desktop Flash Player and exported as a projector file. Not only that but for us on OSX, we've got to completely enter Windows and do the exact same thing just to get the .exe projector made. I've been developing exclusively in Flex (Flash Builder 4) for over a year now and have never found a reason to return to the Flash IDE. I think a Projector Export feature would be one more thing keeping Flex converts like me from having to work in two IDEs.

    I consider AIR to be Adobe's version of Apple's Quicktime. Like QuickTime, users must have the full AIR engine prior to viewing the application. The Projector files solve this issue by simply wrapping up your existing swf within a fully operational Flash Player. Also, there are security issues with some .swf files. I have a project now (web based) that uses xml files in conjunction with an swf file (in an html wrapper). After publishing the web project, it isn't possible to open the html page as the swf will give security errors. (online of course it's fine). If, however, I open up the swf (which will automatically give security errors as well...) then create the projector - that projector will work fine. I can offer this as a desktop version of the app without having to completely author another AIR-architectured Flash Builder Project. It is just about convenience. The .app and .exe versions are simply a convenient way to deliver desktop apps that don't need all the features of an AIR application.

  • Since the update on Firefox 6.0...

    Since the update on Firefox 6.0, all web pages with Flash content dont work anymore. Firefox freezes and I have to shut it down with the Task Manager. There always remain a plugin-container process opened, which I cant even terminate in the Taks Manager. Pls dont release updates if they are no stable or not enough tested. I would like to stick to one broweser, but if FF continues to have such problems I am gonna switch to Opera.

    Flash player works ok for me on an XP with Firefox 6, and other Firefox versions. Possibly it is something on your computer interfering with the use of Flashplayer, or maybe even a malware problem. Maybe the hardware acceleration settings of Firefox or FlashPlayer are a problem, or what about the Bit Torrent accelerator I see mentioned in your system details.
    It would certainly be worth looking for any background tasks or downloads your computer is doing when you see problems.
