Hi NG,
HW: WS-C2960S-48FPS-L
IOS: c2960s-universalk9-mz.122-58.SE1.bin
config:
archive

logging enable

path tftp://IP.IP.IP.IP/path/$h.cfg
now show archive shows me following:
sh archive:
The next archive file will be named tftp://IP.IP.IP.IP/path/hostname.cfg-<timestamp>-0
a) what if i do not wish to have the timestamp appended?
if i specify the path like following i can atleast choose where the timestamp is inserted:
path tftp://IP.IP.IP.IP/path/$h__$t.cfg
now the file received on the tftp server looks like the following:
hostname__Jul--1-18-48-20.cfg-0
i don't like the format, is there any way to change or set it manually?
if not, i come back to question a), can i somehow turn it off?

The overall s***y format cannot be changed, but the 'service timestamps log' can change some of what gets logged.
I would find the people responsible and fire them. While I commend the adding of a timestamp, the absolute lack of control over it's format and usage is absolutely horrible. Who in their right mind thinks that's a good format? Add to it, there's no way to turn off the now completely unnecessary revision tag. (the "-#" at the end.)
If I had a covered (read: non-EOL'd) device, you bet there'd be bugs logged against it.

i think this can't be done through any code like oracle uses to_char, to_date function.

With this, wherever you have this column, you will be getting this format dates..
if you don't want in reports you can change it by mentioning the data format for that paricular column in report, but for the same column, if you want different format at different places (for prompts), you can't do that..

Changing date format for some of the date columns in a subject area

Hi,
I have a requirement to change the date format for some of the date columns to dd-mon-yyy for only a particular subject area. Is there a feature available in the RPD which can help me do this?
In Answers - Column Properties for a Particular column of a report, we can save the style and formatting as system wide default for the particular column or the data type, but that applies across subject areas.
I tried with the config files too , but that too applies to all suject areas.

Why don't you create 2 logical column derived from same date physical col and then change the format for one logical column and use it in Subject Area ?

How to change date format for FM ?

i am trying to use FM DATE_TO_PERIOD_CONVERT. for this FM the input date formate is mmddyyyy
but my variable returns in yyyymmdd. bcoz of that my FM doesnt understand the input date.
how do i do this? i am very poor in abap skills so will not do too much of codeing to convert.

I do get the correct formate using your code. but the problem if i debug my code goes till the FM and then it kicks it out. i dont know why.
The data type what you have define in your code is not what i have in my code. is it bcoz of that.
In your code..l_date type sydatum
in my code ...l_date like sydatum <-----Do you think i sould make it type ?

while in my code..

I am trying to get all versions for selected document by calling getVersions method Versions.asmxweb service, but getting ‘Created’ date attribute value is in the format "29-05-2012 12:01"
but I am expecting either one of the following date formats.
1.      yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm:ss or yyyy-MM-ddTHH:mm:ssz
2.      MM/dd/yyyy HH:mm a   (a means AM/PM)
3.      MM/dd/yyyy
4.      yyyyMMdd HH:mm:ss
where do I need to change?
what are all the formate will be support by SharePoint?

According to your post, my understanding is that you want to change date format for ‘Created’ field in the getVersions web service.
Per my knowledge, you can get the date format for ‘Created’ field as “MM/dd/yyyy HH:mm a”.

Changing Date Format in ALV List for VKM1 transaction

I have to change date format to MM/DD/YY in the ALV list display of VKM1 transaction. There are user exits available.
I am trying to use EDIT_MASK option of the field catalog.. Without changing the code, I give value as __:__:__ or MM/DD/YY in the EDIT_MASK field of the fieldcatalog during DEBUG. Just before the RESUSE_ALV_LIST_DISPLAY is called.. but it is NOT showing any change in the display.
Please advice any alternate way to do the same.

If u`ve access to User parameters, try tcode SU01 and give ur user name in the first parameter. Navigate to the defaults tab and you can find options for Date display and decimals display. Now identify the date format to your liking and change the same. From the next logon in ur user name, changes are reflected on your reports.

I found you post the same question in other place and got the advice. I agree with Mr. Kees suggestion. The data type is a build-in default setting with Access, we can't change it. We may try the workaround via VBA to test.

In Thunderbird, how do I change the date format for the column display?

I want the date to show as DD-MM-YYYY HH:MM AM/PM. Although this should be really obvious (and I know I've done it in the past), I can't find where to do this and can't find anything in Thunderbird Help on this, not even when I search "Thunderbird, change date format".

Thunderbird usually uses the computer date and time and settings.
I'm using Windows and notice that TB is using the short date format which I set up under Regional & Language Options.
Are you using the International settings or Date/Time settings?
It should pick up the settings from the 'International' or maybe its called now called 'Language & Text' setting.

Date formats for SQL statements used by recordset object

Date formatting appears to be quite problematic for Business One. I did a forum search for date issues and I don't think I saw any of them with an "answered" status. I have an issue with formatting a date for the creation of an SQL statement that the DI sends to SQL Server 2005. I need to format a date so that the localization parameters don't matter for either the client machine or SQL Server's machine. We don't have a problem as long as our machines are localized as USA.
I have PL 22 and I have a form - ours - where I use the Today() function to fill a date field. So this is a date that is not entered by the user. The result of this function is consistent with the localization parameters on my machine. We have two other date fields on the form where the user must type in the date.
As a test, I changed my machine to the UK parameters. I then set up the language parameters of Business One for English(United Kingdom). I changed the date format specifications in Business One so that its format is dd/mm/yy. I then brought up the form and the field that is formatted by the above function arrived in the form's field as dd/mm/yy. I then typed in the two other dates in the same format and added the record to the database. The form's table is user-defined.
I dismissed the form then brought it back up loaded with the new record. The date that was entered by the function appeared in USA format (mm/dd/yy). The dates that were typed in appeared in the Business One format (dd/mm/yy). This of course is not consistent.
When I looked at what got into the database, the formats were the opposite. Weird! To make matters really confusing, I run an SQL statement within SQL Server Mgt Studio, and use the WHERE clause to filter on the date that was based on the function. It didnt matter what format I used for the WHERE clause, the record came up. Does anyone have any idea about how I can ensure that I always use the correct date format for SQL statements passed by Business One to SQL Server regardless of where in the world the application is being run?

Here's what I'm concerned about: Im using the date in a WHERE clause.
Assume the date is Aug 3, 2007.
"SELECT * FROM Table WHERE StartDate > 8/3/2007"
OR
"SELECT * FROM Table WHERE StartDate > 3/8/2007"
If the client machine is set up as USA, the today function will provide the date as formatted in the first query. If the database server is setup as lets say the UK, I believe that SQL Server query parser will interpret the date as Mar 8, 2007.

In both cases it would be wrong.
I know I could use the DATEPART function to get the three parts and this will make the code indifferent to the localization specs of the client machine. Hi Bim,
You can use the dynamic expression editor to get a short date format.
for example, set the value of a field to =DATE(2010,02,20).
I'm not sure this is what you've asked, if it doesn't help you can you please elaborate some more ?

Change Date Format in Calendar prompt

Hi All,
I am on 11.1.1.5 and the calendar prompt on selection of date/typing of date defaults to MM/dd/yyyy but, the requirement is to make it to default to MM/dd/yy. I have made 3 changes to the localedefinitions.xml file (dateSeparator,dateShortFormat,dateOrder) and they look like below
