Archive Smartform from BSP

Hello
In our scenario we are entering data into a BSP and want to call a smartform and archive the smartform output as PDF on the click of a button. The displaying of the PDF file in the browser works fine. What I cannot get working is for the smartform to automatically archive the output using archive_index and archive_parameters. In ABAP this works fine but I cannot find why the same call in the BSP displays the form but does not archive the displayed data.
Does anybody have any ideas?
Thanks
Harry

Hello Prabu
Thanks for your answer. I thought in my question I clearly stated that converting the OTF and displaying the PDF was not the problem. Sorry if it was not clear enough.
In any case I have found a solution to the problem myself. After receiving the OTF data I copy it into an identical structure of the same type and use one to archive with FM CONVERT_OTF_AND_ARCHIVE and the other is used to display the PDF file in the browser. Surely not "state of the art" but it solves my problem.
Thanks to all
Harry

  • Calling SAP Transaction from BSP

    I wonder whether it is possible to call SAP transaction from BSP application and pass to it some data; e.g., PO# when calling VA02?
    The called transaction could appear in a separate MS IE Window (like in some Portal applications) or in SAP GUI.
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Thank you in advance

    I have launched the Java SAPGui from BSP pages before.  I used SNC so that the users were logged on via Single Sign On.  I store the Java Gui in the Mime directory.  You can force the startup transaction.  Theorectically you could also Gui Scripting to try and control the Gui and force in the default value for your PO field.  I have not tried that however.  You will probably want to check the Service Marketplace for documents on the Gui Scripting.  The following is the code from my BSP page to launch the Java Gui in the Browser as an applet:

  • Open SAPGUI from BSP

    Hi,
    I have a requirement to open the print-preview of a smartform in the SAPGUI when a link is clicked on the BSP page in the browser. I have created a program which shows the print preview etc. Is there any way of opening up the SAPGUI from the browser with a specific transaction being called and parameters passed from BSP to the SAPGUI?
    I dont want to display as PDF unless there is a way to disable downloading or saving of the displayed PDF to the users hard disk. Also printing of the PDF needs to be disabled. This does not seem to be possible from what I have seen in the forums.
    Any help will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Preet

    Hi,
    Thanks for replying so quickly. The SAP version is R/3 Enterprise and I need to open the Wingui. However the issue we are facing is how to pass a dynamic parameter to the R/3 transaction. In the portal we can specify the transaction to call and can pass parameters to it but there seems to be no way of dynamically passing a value to the R/3 transaction.
    I hope this makes sense. When the user clicks say a customer number on the webpage, I need to call a Z transaction in R/3 with that customer number passed to it. Is this actually possible?

  • Archive Smartform printout into SAP database

    Dear All,
    I am printing a smartform through Z-Program.
    I need to archive this printout.
    Please suggest me the solution.

    Hello,
    Please be noted that archiving documents other than ABAP lists has been
    deactivated through SAP note 725723.
    So, OTF objects should be archived directly from the application.
    The suggestion was that when the application calls the Smartforms
    function module, it asks to prepare the OTF data and give it back to
    the application.
    If you set parameter CONTROL_PARAMETERS-GETOTF = 'X', then OTF data will
    be returned to application and no printing/ archiving will be performed.
    The application can manipulate the returned data. for instance convert
    it to PDF and send as email (usual practice).
    The application can also accumulate the OTF data received from different
    Smartforms and then call the archiving procedure. e.g.
       perform otf_archive in program SAPLSTXBC tables otfdata
                                              using  arc_params
                                                     arc_index.
    It was also suggested that some modifcations to the OTF data before
    appending it to a common table otfdata.
    For instance, if you want to put 3 Smartforms into one archive, the
    nntermediate OTF data returned will be OTF1, OTF2, OTF3. For OTF1
    last line ('//'), for OTF2 you need to delete the first and last line,
    for OTF3 you need to delete the first line only.
    Then you can append them into the one OTFDATA table and do the call
    above to otf_archive.
    Or you can also use the Storage Mode Print and Archive instead of Print Only when print.

  • Calling of Sapscript program from BSP Application

    Hi,
       I have a requirement to display the sapscript output in PDF throgh BSP.
       In the Application program I am taking the output in PDF format.
       Now While calling the Driver program in BSP it is giving dump.
       I am using Submit 'Prog_name'  and return.
      Pls help.

    Hi Thanuja,
    You cannot call the program using SUBMIT PROGRAM in BSPs.
    You can create PDF from a Smart Form. <i>I have no idea of SAPSCRIPTS calling from BSPs.</i> You can do one thing, you can migrate your SAPSCRIPTS to SMARTFORMS and try the below code.
    You can call the the below three FMs in the following sequence.
    1)
      call function 'SSF_FUNCTION_MODULE_NAME'
        exporting
          formname           = l_form_name
        importing
          fm_name            = l_function_module_name
        exceptions
          no_form            = 1
          no_function_module = 2
          others             = 3.
      if sy-subrc <> 0.
        message id sy-msgid type sy-msgty number sy-msgno
                 with sy-msgv1 sy-msgv2 sy-msgv3 sy-msgv4.
      endif.
    2)  call function l_function_module_name
    3)  call function 'CONVERT_OTF'

  • Importing archived project from DVD

    I used burn disk to arcive a project to a DVD. That seemed to work fine.
    I then started a new project and tried to import the "archived project from the DVD and I keep getting this error:
    The file could not be imported: The file “Macintosh Hard Disk/Volumes/Media Drive/Home movies/Billie Jo awards” can’t be imported; QuickTime couldn’t parse it: -43
    So far I am unable to import this DVD or anything else into iMovie
    Any Ideas?
    David

    Your Archived DVD Project will only open in iDVD.
    To access the video you will need the burned copy of the DVD
    To import your DVD you will need a DVD ripper. I use Mac the ripper http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/22715.
    If you want to only import the video (to edit or watch on your computer) chose in mode chapter extraction and select the ones you want (yes you can select them all). Then you will need to condvert the .VOB file (found in the video_TS file) to a .MOV or H264 using FFMpegX http://ffmpegx.com/download.html. If the binaries dont work just press cancel (you dont need them for this conversion). Then import your .MOV or .MP4 file into iMovie.
    That should do it

    May be you can navigate to another page AFTER the response_complete() method and show the message that 'PDF is downloaded successfully'
    or something meanful message. so that it will get a response back from server and 'wait...Processing' message might disappear.
    I'm not sure and didnt try..may be you can give it a try and let us know..

    I have a requirement in which I have to download to xl-sheet in different tabs based on some conditions from a bsp page.
    I am successful in downloading data into different tabs.
    Now I had written the piece of code required to download to xl in a function module
    and I am calling that function module when pressing a button in bsp page.
    When I run the fm seperately its working but when I run it from bsp page its not working.But while debugging I found that the fm is being called and executed perfectly without any errors.
    But the xl is not being created on our side.
    Can anyone suggest me how to proceed on this.
    Helpful answers will be rewarded.
    Thanks,
    Uga

  • In download to excel from bsp hw to increase excel column width to wrap txt

    in download to excel from bsp how to increase excel column width to wrap text
    in each column.
    My client does not want to manually click each cell aftet downloading to excel to see full text in each column

    Hi,
    You can achieve this by formatting your output using HTML table tag.
    Try the following code.
      DATA: lv_output  TYPE string.
      concatenate
      '<table border="1">'
      '<tr style="font-weight: bold; text-align:center; "><td>Name</td><td width="150">Description</td></tr>' cl_abap_char_utilities=>cr_lf
      '<tr><td>First Name</td><td>Some Description goes here..... ....... ...... </td></tr>' cl_abap_char_utilities=>cr_lf
      '<tr><td>2nd Name</td><td>XYZ.......</td></tr>' cl_abap_char_utilities=>cr_lf
      '</table>'
      into lv_output.
      response->set_cdata( data = lv_output ).
