'ArrayBindSize is invalid' calling DBMS_DESCRIBE.DESCRIBE_PROCEDURE
I'm trying to call DBMS_DESCRIBE.DESCRIBE_PROCEDURE to get a listing of all of the parameters for a stored procedure. I'm having trouble getting the parameters created properly. Most of the params are declared as one of the following:
overload OUT NUMBER_TABLE,
argument_name OUT VARCHAR2_TABLE,
I've been using the following code (overload, for example):
m_Command.Parameters.Add("overload", OracleDbType.Double, 200, DBNull.Value, ParameterDirection.Output);
m_Command.Parameters[n].CollectionType = OracleCollectionType.PLSQLAssociativeArray;
m_Command.Parameters[n].ArrayBindSize = ???;
I've tried setting ArrayBindSize to several different values, but I always seem to get the following error message "OracleParameter.ArrayBindSize is invalid".
Thoughts?
Also, in ADO, you used to be able to call Command.Refresh, which would populate the Parameters object for you (slow as it may have been). Is there anything similar available for ODP?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The DBMS_DESCRIBE.DESCRIBE_PROCEDURE contains Nested Table type parameters. Since ODP.NET does not support Nested Table type, it is not possible to execute the DBMS_DESCRIBE.DESCRIBE_PROCEDURE at this time. The Nested Table, VArray, Object supports will be evaluated in the near future.
Thanks

BW error: "invalid call sequence for interface when recording changes"
I am getting the error "invalid call sequence for interface when recording changes" when I try to activate a datasource in BW. Any ideas on how to resolve this error?
Thanks.I already tried that. This is what's happening.. When I get this error, if I try again it will activate and gets collected into a transport. I moved this transport to our QA system. As soon as I try to execute an infopackage under this datasource in QA, I get the error datasource xxxxx must be activated. Before the excecution of the infopackage, the datasource is in "Active version executable". After I get the error message "datasource must be activated", the datasource in the QA system changes to "Active version not executable". I am not sure all these issues are related back to the "invalid call sequence" error I am getting when I try to activate the data source.
I also tried recollecting the transport from our Dev system to QA and it still gives the above errors.
Any help?
Thanks. -
Formal error: Invalid calling sequence for function modules
Hi All,
I have developed a function module for FQEVENT 620 Payment: Transfer Line Items for Clearing.
The clearing works fine.
After clearing the open items i need to post an FI-CA Document(BAPI : BAPI_CTRACDOCUMENT_CREATE) for each open item(cleared item)
I have used the bapi : BAPI_CTRACDOCUMENT_CREATE in the same function module that i have developed for FQEVENT 620 Payment: Transfer Line Items for Clearing.Here i am getting an error "Formal error: Invalid calling sequence for function modules".
So please let me know where i can use this bapi to post fi-ca document.Is there a BAdi or Enhancement Spot where i can use this BAPI or tell me what should i do to overcome this error.
Regards
VenkatVenkat:
While I am confused about your business process - creating an open item when clearing one seems strange. Look into event 0020 which is called after documents are posted - it may present the opportunity to post process additional documents.

Invalid call Statement method: {0} In sql server,please help me!
Connect to a sql server 2000 DB,and the table has a identity column.
Run the code below:
String strSql = "insert into attachments([FileName],FileLength,FileContent) values(?,?,?)";
PreparedStatement pstmt = connection.prepareStatement(strSql);
pstmt.setString(1,fileName);
pstmt.setInt(2,iFileLength);
pstmt.setString(3,'aaaa');
if(pstmt.executeUpdate()==1) {//succeed;
strSql = "select @@identity";//this code run good in the Query Analyzer.
ResultSet rs = pstmt.executeQuery(strSql);//exception thrown!!!!!!!!!!!!
if(rs.next()) {//succeed;
int i = rs.getInt(1);
throw a exception:Invalid call Statement method: {0}
thanks a lot!If you really must re-use your prepared statement, then you'll have to clear the parameters associated with it.
pstmt.clearParameters();What's happening is that the statement is trying to re-apply the previously assigned parameters to a query with no placeholders.
I'd rather use an ordinary Statement in this case.

OracleParameter.ArrayBindSize is invalid
Hi,

Thanks & Regards,
Aditya from IndiaIt does not look like you've set the ArrayBindSize property as required:
"For binding a PL/SQL Associative Array, whose elements are of a variable-length element type, as an InputOutput , Out, or ReturnValue parameter, this property must be set properly."
- Oracle Data Provider for .NET Library, OracleParameter.ArrayBindSize
If you go to the ODP.NET home page and scroll to the bottom, you can get a sample download of 2 chapters from Pro .NET Oracle Programming (as of 16 JUN 2005). The ODP.NET home page can be found here:

Chapter 5 (which is part of the sample chapters) discusses working with PL/SQL and PLSQLAssociativeArray.

Unable to interpret " 2.902.321,540" as a number.
What happened?
The current ABAP/4 program "ZVEMMWMS_RELACION_EMBARQUE " had to be terminated
because
one of the statements could not be executed.
This is probably due to an error in the ABAP/4 program.
What can you do?
Note the actions and input that caused the error.
Inform your SAP system administrator.
You can print out this message by choosing "Print". Transaction ST22
allows you to display and manage termination messages, including keeping
them beyond their normal deletion date.
Error analysis
The program attempted to interpret the value " 2.902.321,540" as a number, but
since the value contravenes the rules for correct number formats,
this was not possible.
How to correct the error
Whole numbers are represented in ABAP by a series of numerals with a
sign in front of them if necessary.
The following floating point number representations are possible in
ABAP:
[sign][mantissa]E[sign][exponent]
[sign][whole number part].[fractional part]
z.B. -12E+34, +12E-34, 12E34, 12.34
If the error occurred in one of your own programs or in an SAP program

Over the past few months (even though my numbers are on the "Do not call list") I have been getting more and more calls with the caller ID of "Marketing"! I like many here I'm sure hate this crap and usually just pick up and hang up.
The problem really becomes an issue when I am not home and my VM picks up; I am getting so many that I have to go threw before I get to my real voice mails that I am wishing for a way I can just block by the CID or "Marketing".
Anyone else?I have been getting the same irrating calls for a number of years. There are some online sites that will identify those suspecious numbers, and you can leave comments. You can also report them to the FCC.gov site, not that they will instantly stop the calls. My landline phone is a Panasonic Detc 6, with a 30 # caller ID and call block memory. Any number you enter in the call block will only ring once, then the line is hung up. To bad I can't program the "SIT" tone for the call block to use, that would be the end of that caller. Check out Telezapper II . There are other products also.
Verizon could block these "SPOOFED" calls easily, the caller ID number shown is almost always an invalid or not in service number. That violates the FCC 2010 " Truthin Calling" act. If you dial the number shown, you will most always get the phone co's SIT tone and the message "the number you have dialed is no longer in service"
Once again, I will say that Verizon could easily block any call with an invalid caller ID number, there system could check that befor you even get the first ring.
Search "call blockers", Google has lots of answers. -
Call Pickup Configuration fnc=blf+sd+cp
Hello there,
We recently setup a new business and have setup four Cisco SPA525G2 IP phones. We are using a hosted PBX service and SIP accounts for our VOIP service.
I have aproblem getting call pickup to work. In the Line Key extended function i have the following string:
fnc=blf+sd+cp;sub=1640000@$PROXY;ext=164000@$PROXY;nme=Bob
the blf and speed dial functions work well but the call pickup does not work. when i press the line key to pickup and incoming call on another extension i get this message "Invalid call: Bob **1640000"
Can someone please throw somw light on this issue?
Thanks in advanceI have upgraded firmware to 7.5.4
String i am using now is:
fnc=sd+blf+cp;sub=1640000@$proxy;usr=1640000@$Proxy
Still no luck, when i press the line key to pickup the call i get:
Line 1 Forbidden to:*08
*08 being the Att Console call pickup code (on both phones) -

Attendant Console "failed to make a new call" error.
I have a problem with the error message "Failed to make a new call" in multiple instances with Attendant Console. The first time this error comes up is if the first hunt group member does not answer the call and it goes to the next member. It only displays on the first member console. If I change the hunt group order, it still comes up on whomever is first on the list. This message also comes up whenever any Console user makes an invalid call which is expected but irritating to the users.
Can I disable these error messages completely? It is highly annoying since these error messages can stack up and have to be cleared by pressing "OK" before the user can click on the screen again.
TAC has not resolved the first error yet but everything works fine.Hi Luigi,
Thanks for the update. Even i had opened a TAC. In my case, we have configured Hunt Pilot, from where the call is routed to the members in the hunt group. But TAC says that the Attendant console never uses HUNT PILOT to take calls. So it has to be PILOT POINT which has to be configured for Attendant console to take calls.
We had configured in this fashion, because the AC stops working often. Even though it shows, 'activated in the control center. Manually the service has to be restarted on all the nodes. And all the callers will get busy tone when they try reaching the reception.
As an action plan, we need to revert to PILOT POINT configuration and do the testing again. So If found that the pop-up is not coming anymore, then TAC will work on fixing the AC service failing issue.
Hope this helps and will keep you posted on the updates.

Oracle.ManagedDataAccess and ArrayBindSize
Hello,
I am trying to upgrade Asp.net web application ODAC 32 bit component from ODAC 11 to Oracle.MagagedDataAccess. The below code worked fine with ODAC 11 but it throws "System.InvalidOperationException: OracleParameter.ArrayBindSize is invalid" exception when I use ManagedDataAccess
OracleParameter paramWebRef = new OracleParameter("newwebreference", OracleDbType.Varchar2, 30, new object[order_id_.Count], ParameterDirection.Output);
paramWebRef.ArrayBindSize = new int[order_id_.Count].Initialize(30);
paramWebRef.ArrayBindStatus = new OracleParameterStatus[order_id_.Count].Initialize(OracleParameterStatus.Success);
Am I missing any other properties or methods which I should use while using Managed DataAccess ?i am using parameter array binding and setting the size and status.
OracleParameter paramFound = new OracleParameter("found", OracleDbType.Int32, new object[company_id_.Count], ParameterDirection.Output);
paramFound.ArrayBindStatus = new OracleParameterStatus[company_id_.Count].Initialize(OracleParameterStatus.Success);
paramFound.ArrayBindSize = new int[company_id_.Count()];
When I run the above lines of code, ExecuteNonQuery not returning any values. Verified the stored procedure using Toad, it returns "1" for the "found" column but in C# code its
just 0 (OracleDecimal[])paramFound.Value)[i] -

End of ReportFrederic's right... you're summing up too many statspacks ..
Can't see anything specific apart from the fact that Statspack itself is showing up in the top statements.
First : define 'Slow' . What is your goal for 'Ok' ?

PL/SQL array bind output variable
I've been trying to learn how to pass an array to an pl/sql script. Getting the data into the db seems to be working fine, but I would like to know if there was a problem inserting the data. More specifically, I would like to know THE SPECIFIC ROW that caused the problem.
pl/sql code:
create or replace procedure pp (
v_out out number,
v_listtype in repair_codes.listtype%type,
v_repaircode in repair_codes.repaircode%type
is
begin
insert into repair_codes (listtype, repaircode) values (v_listtype,v_repaircode);
v_out:=1;
commit;
--just setting up test variable for now
end;
vb.code:
Dim cmd As New OracleCommand("pp", dbConn)
cmd.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure
cmd.ArrayBindCount = 3
Dim al(2) As String
Dim ar(2) As String
al(0) = "JOE1"
al(1) = "JOE2"
al(2) = "JOE3"
ar(0) = "TEST1"
ar(1) = "TEST2"
ar(2) = "TEST3456789"
Dim out As New OracleParameter("v_out", OracleDbType.Varchar2, 20)
out.Direction = ParameterDirection.Output
cmd.Parameters.Add(out)
Dim listtype As New OracleParameter("v_listtype", OracleDbType.Varchar2)
listtype.Value = al
cmd.Parameters.Add(listtype)
Dim repaircode As New OracleParameter("v_repaircode", OracleDbType.Varchar2)
repaircode.Value = ar
cmd.Parameters.Add(repaircode)
dbConn.Open()
Try
cmd.ExecuteNonQuery()
Catch ex As OracleException ' catches only Oracle errors
ex = ex
Select Case ex.Number
Case 1
MessageBox.Show("Error attempting to insert duplicate data.")
Case 12545
MessageBox.Show("The database is unavailable.")
Case Else
MessageBox.Show("Database error: " & ex.Message.ToString())
Dim wha = ex.Errors(0).ArrayBindIndex 'always '0'
End Select
Finally
dbConn.Close()
End Try
error:
OracleParameter.ArrayBindSize is invalid
Code above will work if I remove everything about the 'output' variable
To test I would like to put in data for a column that is too large, have all other rows inserted, but return the row that had bad data. Thanks for any thoughts on this-I have a similar issue, i.e. the pl/sql table type as out parameter is causing probleml in one API related to Oracle Applications. I have singled this problem out by creating wrappers and testing them against BPEL process. Now as soon as I put an out parameter with pl/sql table in my wrapper, I start getting errors. Why the invoke even care about what is in output while calling the API? How can I get rid of it. I am not able to pin point where exactly you made the changes. Could you please share some more info or possibly share the BAD and GOOD code.
We will probably get away with this by creating just a wrapper that would have NO out parameter as PL/SQL table as I don't think we need it anyway.
Still want to know what is the issue here as we would like to avoid any custom wrapper creation?

Best way to organize/implement multiple ESB services
Hi, I am now thinking about the best way to organize and implement ESB services/flows in JDeveloper. The notions of ESB system and groups are clear to me, but this is more an classification on the server. As far as I can discover, you can make an ESB

Negative Delivery/Sales Order in BP Master Data
I asked this question last week, but it wasn't answered, I will ask again with more information. As the heading suggests there is negative values in Sales Order and Delivery totals in the BP Master Data. See steps below. All links are clickable and
