[AS] CS3- Find any text with style, then replace that text with a new applied fill color.

I am trying to find the simplest way in cs3 to find any text with style, then replace that text with a new fill color. I can find text and change text. I can find a style and change it to a new style. I can't seem to find a style and change the applied fill color. I do not want to change the properties of the style, just the applied color. Yes, I want the + sign, for now. I know, why not update the style, I am not allowed to. Any help would be great. Since the search is not available, I need a new response.

You can work around the bug by just doing a find, then looping through the results, changing the color one at a time. If you want the script to create character styles: Bold , Italic, Bold Italic, etc, and replace local formatting with these styles, use scripts in post #3.
But if you want find and change words, or/and replace local formatting with styles defined by you, use FindChangeByList script.
If the latter, I recommend you to download and install Record Find Change script (written by Martin Fisher).
Then choose settings you need in Find-Change dialog – make sure they work as expected – and run Record Find Change script. A Notepad/TextEdit file will pop up with a line containing the recorded setting. Copy it, open FindChangeList.txt, delete the contents of this file and paste the line you just copied (or add it to the bottom of the file).
Repeat the process for all find-change operations you need.
Finally run FindChangeByList.jsx to make all changes in one go.
However, while using Record Find Change script, you may encounter a problem: it doesn’t record paragraph and character styles placed inside a group. But you can write references to such styles like so:
appliedParagraphStyle:app.activeDocument.paragraphStyleGroups.item("Style Group 1"). paragraphStyles.item("Paragraph Style 1")

Using CTRL + F not working to find any text within the query result

Hi friends,
I am trying to use find option to find any text within the result section of a query but when I do CTRL+F the find window appears and I can input the text that I wanted. But when I press Enter it is not giving me any result though the entered text
is in the query result. I am using Sql Server 2012 Management studio. Any Body please help me. There is a job that I have to search certain things after running a script and now I am doing copy paste to excel and doing searching from there.

Looks like you are trying to do in SSMS, and it is because the result set is in Grid view , if you want to use CTL + F then your result should be in Text format, try to do using CTL + T ( To get result in Text) and then use CTL + F to find any
text.

Actually your suggestions are the ones that i have tried. i have seen that you have tried to help others with this issue and the only one that i could find that said they found the problem said that it was an ilife update issue and it fixed it and i have no available updates. i know it has to do with something in photo stream because it happens when i create a new library and it is loading the photos but i get the message before i reach the maximum 1000 photos. so i've tried updating, new library(first backing up photos and then deleting them from iPhoto), reinstalling OSX many times, running disc utilities. I called Apple the first day i had this issue and i was the first person to call them for support with the retina display and i actually had it escalated to a senior advisor and we thought we fixed the problem but we did not. i am pretty fluent in dealing with troubleshooting these type of issues and this is the first time i'm reaching out to the community. i figured now that the retina has been out some time now that there would be an obvious answer to this issue. thanks for the quick reply.

Please give us some more information: Photoshop version and OS version (First two lines of Help > System Info).
Did these textures come with your install or are they from a third party?
How did you access them before? Usually Textures are Presets you load into your Patterns dialog. If you install a new version of Photoshop or Reset Photoshop, you have to go into the Patterns Panel menu and reload them.

This is so annoying and frustrating. I've been trying to do both of them for like 2-3 hours.
You CAN do both, of course, but if you double-space the highlighted text, it just creates this huge highlighted part (it highlights the space between the two lines!) below the actual text.

In Pages v5.2.2, taking Baskerville Regular 12 pt, and double-spacing it with character fill color does produce a nasty effect. With View > Show Rulers, I looked where the lines of text lined up on the vertical scale.
Then I changed the Spacing selector from Lines to Between. Now, just the text had the character fill color, but the line height had increased visually downward. With the between setting, line height is changed to points, and indicates 27 pt. If you adjust this value to 16 pt, the second line of double-spacing will realign with where it was before the between change, while retaining discrete line character fill color.
Before: Spacing set to Lines, and 2.0 - Double.
After: Spacing set to Between, and 16 pt

[JS CS3] Find/Change "[Basic Paragraph]" style

I'm trying to find all occurances of the [Basic Paragraph] style and replace them with [No Paragraph Style]. I'm using:

app.changeTextPreferences.appliedParagraphStyle = "[No Paragraph Style]";
I get the message "Invalid value for set property 'appliedParagraphStyle'. Expected String, ParagraphStyle or NothingEnum enumerator, but received "[Basic Paragraph Style]"."
I've tried every combination of brackets, no brackets, quotes, no quotes, etc. It doesn't seem like this can be scripted, even though it can be done via find/change in InDesign. Am I banging my head against the wall? Does anyone know if this can be done?

"[Basic Paragraph]" as shown in the code below doesn't work either. (the word "Style" actually snuck in as I was trying different variations. But no combination seems to work.
If anyone knows that [Basic Paragraph] can or cannot be accessed via scripting, I'd like to know. Thanks.

Digital TV can't find any channels with FIOS

My digital TV does not use a set top box. I used to be able to scan the channels and pick up the local ones, but now I get nothing. Is there a problem because of the switch over to all digital? Makes no sense since FIOS has always been digital.

Depends on the brand. My Sharp Aquos maps all the local HD (OTA) channels correctly by the PSIP information (3.1, 6.1, etc.). Local SD channels will not be mapped as they don't have PSIP headers. Some brands still have trouble with Verizon's PSIP information and either don't map or totally choke and can't find any of the local HD stations. Verizon fixed an issue almost a year ago that caused my Sharp to not be able to tune any of the local HD stations for nearly 9 months - either at their mapped location or their QAM channel (70.x to 75.x in my area)

Apply Fill Color to Group Item with Applescript

Is it possible to set the fill color of a group item using applescript and CS3? The group contains paths and text that have the same fill color with no strokes.I am able to select the group and delete it or move it (with applescript) but have had no success in setting the fill color.

Now that I am addressing the path items and text items of the group separately I am having some success. Now I am having difficulty getting the correct terms for assigning a Spot Color to the file. Here is a piece of the script.
This works:

Download a piece of software called TinkerTool - that might just solve your problem. I have used it myself to change the system fonts on my iMac. It is software and not an app.
