You can delete the partition in Boot Camp Assistant or use Camptune to modify it

Regarding time machine, it probably took a full backup after you put mavericks on. To investigate, open Console, select "All Messages" and type "backup" (without the quotes). It will then only show you backup-related messages. If you're not sure how to read those, copy them and paste them into a reply here; we can investigate the situation.

Does Partitioning Tables need more Space

Can some one tell me does Partitioned table need more space than a general tables(i.e with out any partition). If so what can be the percenatge difference.

It is not having/not having any rows in a partition but rather init.ora parameter deferred_segment_creation setting. By default it is set to true, which means segment will be created on first insert.

When you installed Snow Leopard, Tiger was replaced, leaving your programs and files intact.
What is causing your freezing problem is unknown, you can take Kappy's advice and remove everything, but you lose your files and free iLife programs that came with Tiger/new machine.
The 10.6.3 disk you "upgraded" with has the full 10.6.3 on it, but no free iLife suit, so a erase and install will remove what you already have installed.
You can try to locate your problem without the erase and install method by running through this list of fixes.

But before you do anything, backup your personal data off the machine to a extenal drive and disconnect.

Installing Mountain Lion on BLANK hard disk that says I need more space

I'm trying to reinstall Mountain Lion to a blank hard disk. It stops during install and says I need 4.2G more space and suggests I free some up. It's a blank hard disk, all I have access to is Disk Utility. How do I free up space?

Did you format the blank disk and add a partition?

I have Win7Pro64, tried to Un-Install Firefox control panel, no luck, tried running helper.exe from Uninstall folder and it says "Not a Valid Win-32 Application" What gives?? Just want to update to 3.6.4 and that didn't work either so I'm trying to remove

Running Win7Pro64. Tried to update to 3.6.4 and it failed. It said to download the whole program so I did. Tried to install and says that the "License File" is missing. SO I go to un-install 3.6.3 myslef with Control Panel. All that did was remove Firefox as a listed program in control panel, all of it is still there in Explorer and it runs fine. So I go to use Helper.Exe under the Uninstall folder of Mozilla Firefox and when I click that, it says "Not a Valid Win-32 Application" What's up with that?? All I want to do is remove 3.6.3 so that I can clean install 3.6.4. I tried installing 3.6.4 two different ways with failures both times. I tried to remove 3.6.3 using two different ways, and that also failed both times.

Need more space when a make my windows partition

Hi I have 50 GB free on my SSD on my MacBook Pro. I want to make a Windows boot camp partition, however bootcamp it will only let me use 31gb of my hardrive.
there is 18gb left. is there a way of getting more space when I make the partition

You need to delete some things or move them to an external drive if you want more space. Leaving nothing free is going to cause you a lot of problems as you won't have any room for the system to write temporary files.

my /dev/sdb4 is a NTFS partition that has 454.4 GB total, and 392.2. GB free. I've got /home on /dev/sdb3. Can I resize my NTFS partition (sdb4) to make is smaller, and then make my sdb3 bigger without losing any of my data on the NTFS partition?
btw, / is on /dev/sbd1/

Csound1 What Ive been trying to explain is that I have been running bootcamp, I open the app where the first screen is the introduction, i hit continue, the first time I select "download the latest windows support software fromm Apple" then I return and instead select "Install Windows 7." Then hit continue. The third screen is where I "Create a Partition for Windows" I set Windows to 80 gigs then hit INSTALL. As stated before Bootcamp cannot find the install drivers saying "The installer disc could not be found." My windows software is on a USB drive not a disc, I tried using a virtual disc reader to make it appear that the windows software was running on a disc, still no luck. What I would like to know is how to install windows on bootcamp.

Need X11... mac says it's installed but I can't find it anywhere

My computer won't let me install X11 from the apple site because it says a newer version is already installed on my computer... except that I can't find said program anywhere. I don't have my discs, they're in florida and I'm in NY. I didn't install things off of the disks because I assumed that everything I'd possibly need would be already installed. What can I do? I can't access the invisble X11 that's already "installed". I know this because I tried to install OpenOffice and it said I needed X11, and told me where to download it.

Yes, a site helping me install OpenOffice was telling me that I hve to go to the library and remove the X11User.pkg file in order to force it to uninstall so I could ACTUALLY install it... but that file is not in the library. I do hve administrator's access, too.

The flash player plugin is correct installed, but firefox keeps asking to install it and then says not possible

I have installed flash player.
The test site of Adobe says it is correct. When I switch it off and do the test the test says "flash player is switched off, press to switch it on" when I dos so the test says that is corectly installed.
When I open the plug-in screen there is no adobe flash player, but only shockwabe flash player, but switching this one on and off had the above mentioned effect.
I have checked the registry (since I could not find anything about flash player in the program list, software in configuration, nor in program files and found that in the windows/system32/macromed/flash directory are the files flashutil9b.exe and flashutil_10uPlugin.exe and some other files, which gives me the idea that flash player is in effect installed.
Nevertheless a flash file in my website keeps asking for the plugin and tells than that it cannot be found.

The big problem is, that since I have these problems (on several computers, working on XP and Vista) I suppose that the visitors on my site wil have the same problem.
I heve been working hours to find out what the problem is, installed different players, used different formats, searched the internet for a solution and I don't want to export this problem to the visitors of my website.

Use the Activity Monitor to force quit the loginwindow process. Save all open documents before doing this; there won't be any further confirmation prompts.
