ASA 5505-VPN- Can't use AD services
New install:5505 VPN with MS Active Directory services on LAN.
I can VPN into the network but cannot e.g. join my laptop to the Domain. Message says "cannot find "domain" I can: ping the PDC, RDP onto the PDC or any system on the LAN. Also applications that are on the remote laptop and rely on LAN resources fail.
Any help would be welcome

ASA 5505 VPN can't access inside host
I have setup remote VPN access on a ASA 5505 but cannot access the host or ASA when I login using the VPN. I can connect with the Cisco VPN client and the VPN light is on on the ASA and it shows that I'm connected. I have the correct Ip address but I cannot ping or connect to any of the internal addresses. I cannot find what I'm missing. I have the VPN bypassing the interface ACLs. Since I can login but not go anywhere I feel certian I missed something.

ASA 5505 VPN can't access connected network
I have an ASA 5505 with ipsec VPN configured on it. I am able to connect to the ASA but I can't ping a connected network. I get a dhcp assigned address in the network I am trying to reach but can't access that network on Vlan5. Please help.
I attached the config.I think final questions, can you have two nat statements that point to the same acl ie.

I see your acl "outside_nat0_outbound" set on inside interface for no nat, but I do not see, the acl is being defined anywhere on your config.
I also strongly recommand create your vpn-pool to be different subnet rather being as same as your inside ip of your ASA.
so, let assume your vpn pool is 192.168.255.1-254/24
so, your no-nat for inside will look like this below.

ASA 5505 VPN can't access inside hosts
I have configured VPN on the 5505 using ASDM and I'm able to connect to the 5505 and the client is also getting an IP-address from the configured pool.
The Cisco VPN client shows an error in the log: AddRoute failed to add a route: code 87
CiscoNo I can't ping anything.

can i use the service module w/ the ff. scenario?
items are manage by serial numbers., but we dont sell it, we purchase the item for internal use only. this are the ff. information that i want to track.
1. track the history of the item everytime it has undergone for repair
a. some cases the repair takes place within the company, meaning employees within the company take care on the labor but only parts will be purchase
b. some cases the repair takes place in business partner, (PO Service in this case)
2. track the parts that was replace

You would need the following is you wanted to use the Service Module to track internal serialized inventory/hardware:
1. Set up a customer record that would represent the internal use/company/department
2. Manually create the Customer Equipment Card (when receiving the equipment on GRPO or AP invoice, you would want to use a warehouse that represents internally-used equipment/assets)
Repairs: you could update the status of the CEC record when it's being repaired (or have a repair WH for when it's sent off-site).
Expenses: related expenses could be done by creating a Service Call linked to the CEC with details/purpose, etc. which would be tracked on the Expenses tab but the transactions don't include AP (PO's), the assumption being that any expenses would be charged back to the customer, which in this case would be internal.
If you want the expenses linked to the item/CEC then you could use Activities from Service Call and you can link the PO/AP invoice thru the Activity. You could have one S/C record that would be for tracking equipment repairs and leave it open for as long as you have the item - that would be the link between the Activities and the CEC/equipment record. Whenever repairs are to be record, you would only need to pull up the CEC record and drill-down to the S/C to create a new Activity record. This will also enable you to see how many repairs are being down - you could even breakdown the Activity on internal vs external (have it as a Type, on which you can then report on overall as well as by item).
It will depend on what info you want to capture and if you need anything for reporting that would be that detailed (i.e. down to a serialized item) as to what process & setup you want to use. Try out the above and hopefully something will work out.

Based on my experience, the maximum limitation for virtual networks and local networks is 100 per subscription and the limitation for local network
sites is 10 per virtual network in Azure. If you connect each on-premise branch with an Azure virtual network, it would be possible to do that. However, the default limitation for virtual networks and local networks is 10 per subscription, you can request
an increase limitation by following the article below:

Thanks.I tried that and it didn't work. As for upgrading the ASA version, I'd like to but this is an old router and I don't have a support contract with Cisco anymore, so I can't access the latest firmware.

Hello everyone,
First off, I apologize if this is something that I can google. My knowledge of network administration is all self-taught so if there is a guide to follow that I've missed please point me in the right direction, its often hard to Google terms for troubleshooting when your jargon isn't up to snuff.
The chief issue is that when pinging internal devices while connected to the results are very inconsistent.
Pinging 192.168.15.102 with 32 bytes of data:

We've set up a IPSec VPN connection to a remote Cisco ASA 5505. There are no issues connecting, connection seems constant, packets good etc. At this point I can only assume I have configuration issues but I've been looking at this for so long, and coupled with my inexperience configuring these settings I have no clue where to start. My initial thoughts are that the LAN devices I am pinging are not sending their response back or the ASA doesn't know how to route packets back?

My first question is do you have a site to site VPN or Remote access client VPN.
After checking your configuration i see that you do not have any Site to SIte VPN configuration so i am assuming that you ara facing issue with the VPN client.
And if i understood correctly you are able to connect the VPN client but you not able to access the internal resources properly.
I would recommend you to tey and make teh following changes.
Remove the following configuration first:
nat (inside) 0 access-list inside_nat0_outbound_1 outside
nat (inside) 1 192.168.15.192 255.255.255.192
You do not need the 1st one and i do not understand the reason of the second one
Second one is your pool IP subnet (192.168.15.200-192.168.15.250) and i am not sure why you have added this NAT.
If possible change your Pool subnet all together because we do not recommend to use th POOL ip which is simlar to your local LAN.
Try the above changes and let me know in case if you have any issue.

ASA 5505 & VPN Client blocking access to local lan
I have setup a IPSec vpn client connection to a Cisco ASA 5505, when I connect to the unit it fully authenticates and issues me an ip address on the local lan however when I attempt to connect to any service on the local lan the following message is displayed in the log can you help:

Hi, I'm trying to setup an ipsec from an ASA 5505 (8.4) to a Sophos UTM (9.2)
Internet etc is up and accessible. Ipsec tunnel is up also but I can't pass traffic through it.

ASA 5505 VPN HELP!!!
I have two ASA 5505's. One is currently setup as my firewall connected to the Cox Cable modem and wireless AP. I have another ASA that I would like to use, I have an idea that I could set that one up as a VPN unit, but not sure how I could do that. If that is not an option, can you provide the command line instructions on how to setup the VPN via the console cable. I am kinda new and I am slowing trying to become more knowledgeable about this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a client that is running Win2003 Server R2 with Exchange Server 2003. OWA was setup and clients could connect to their exchange mailbox from the internet with no problems.
We recently configured vpn on the ASA 5505 and now no-one can connect to OWA since that time.
Any thoughts?Have you been using the ASDM to configure the VPN? In that case, you may have removed the required portforwarding or modified the access-list that allows traffic from the outside.
