Asant   cannot find package, javac can??

Hi All,
I am working through the J2EE training disc CDJ-310A. I am trying to build the bankproject with asant and build.xml.
Compiling with asant.
Classpath set and works (javac finds it and set looks okay).
Javac finds junit fine.
Is there some other setting that asant uses other than the class path? Why would javac find junit and not asant??
details:
Imports:
import junit.framework.*;
import junit.extensions.*;
import junit.runner.*;
ClassPath ; JUNIT_HOME is c:\Junit4.1
%JUNIT_HOME%\junit-4.1.jar
Thanks, Ed.

Hi,
Thanks for the pointer, unfortunately, I read the manual and it is still not working.
Thanks, though, Ed.

    Hi!
    Just for future reference, I've moved my site to http://pondini.org, since Apple is dropping web hosting in June.
    Both sites are active now;  after a few days, I'll put redirect notices on the old one, then leave it there until it goes "poof."

    For a beginner these tools are worst, because they
    hide all the stuff a programmer needs to know to find
    his way around Java. They should spend a few weeks
    with the command line and a good text editor before
    switching.
    Just because an IDE does something for you, it
    doesn't mean you don't need to kno wwhat it does.
    Unless you volunteer to handle all "how do I do X in
    Netbeans/Eclipse/Whatever", JAR and classpath
    questions posted here by newbies yourself.I suppose I can agree with that to some extent. I wouldn't suggest to anyone that they just blindly trust whatever code the IDE inserts automatically.
    But there's nothing wrong about learning by example. The IDE is willing to teach proper syntax, and eclipse will give suggestions about capitalizing class names and making constants all-caps.
    There are things that frustrate new programmers where an IDE will be helpful, especially if the entire API is uncharted territory.

  • [SOLVED] Cannot find package "flashplugin" or "archey".

    [EDIT - yaourt and archey now installed, thanks]
    I am running Arch 2.6.34 with GNOME desktop. When I type the command sudo pacman -S flashplugin or sudo pacman -S archey it tells me that it cannot find the package.
    I had this problem previously when I was trying arch in a VM, and I couldn't figure out what I had missed. I have everything else properly installed and working fine, it's just these two packages I've come across that I cannot locate. I'm guessing there's probably more packages that I just haven't run into yet that wouldn't work either.

  • Help JDeveloper cannot find package

    Hi,
    I am using JDeveloper 9.0.3.4.
    In the project settings -->Configurations -->Development --> Libraries, I add JSP Runtime, J2EE, Servlet Runtime. But When I tried to rebuild my project, I got errors like:
    (1) package javax.servlet.jsp does not exist;
    (2) cannot resolve symbol on import javax.servlet.http.HttpServletRequest;
    (3)javax.servlet.http.HttpServletRequest is not public in javax.servlet.http; cannot be accessed from outside package.
    Can you help?
    Many thanks,

    Add lib/j2ee.jar from the J2sdkee installation in the project Classpath with Paths>Additional Paths in the project properties frame.

  • ITunes cannot find but I can ( ! ) - how do I fix this?

    I recently upgraded to a larger capacity drive and copied my library to the new drive but also kept a backup on the old drive. Now on the new drive, I have a ton of those exclamation points and iTunes cannot find a lot of the songs. It is making me find them one song at a time. How can I keep my new drive as the location where iTunes is stored (using the Advanced section of preferences for iTunes music folder location) but get iTunes to fix these that it cannot locate? And if I can locate them one at a time just by going back to the backup, why can't iTunes figure that out on its own? I'm not even sure why this happened, since I did the Consolidate and Keep iTunes folder organized functions when transferring to the new drive. Please help!

    Hi - the original files were copied to the new drive and unfortunately, were deleted from the old drive. But what I do have on the old drive, and iTunes seems to be able to use it when it wants me to locate the songs one by one, is a backup copy of my library I made before the move to the new drive.
    Since moving, I set the new drive location as where the iTunes folder is stored, and the song information is all in the library on the new drive, but it confuses me why that info is there but the "sound" isn't. The files that are affected seem to be mostly the first files I loaded on when I got iTunes in December. A lot came from Windows media. I wish I could understand why if it has me "locate" it, it can then fix the problem (although that has to be done song-by-song) but yet it cannot seem to link to the entire folder and I have to do this one song at a time. Would it be possible to put that backup folder on a CD, and create CD backups of my functioning library on the new drive, and then reinstall iTunes on the new drive using the multiple CDs? Would it let me use CD backups created in two different backups, and extract what each backup had to thus make my library complete again (between the two backups, that would be my entire library.)

  • Cannot find PPoE host, can connect to router but not internet

    I've been having trouble since I tried using the router. At first, I had no security, then I set up the security and couldn't connect to the router. That finally solved, sometimes when trying to connect to the router, I get the message cannot find PPoE host. But, my connection continues to show that it is strong in the bar at the top.
    So, I try to get on the internet -- Safari, Firefox -- no go.
    I run network diagnostics and the first three settings are lit, but the ISP, Internet and Server all show as failed.
    I'm connecting via airport and a linksys router.
    Thanks for any help

    You'll have to go into your router's settings and make sure they're correct. When you connect to the internet through a router, the router has to be set up with the appropriate IP information (like setting it for PPPoE). If you have set your router up properly, then all you have to do is connect your Mac to it, either wirelessly or over ethernet, and it should auto-configure if you have your Network settings on "DHCP" (not the manual DHCP, though). You will get an IP address assigned by your router if it worked.
    Hope that helps. Networking is always confusing.

  • OWB11r2 data chunking: cannot find package DBMS_APPLY

    Hi,
    I'm trying the new data chunking feature of owb11r2. I got it running with serial strategy. But when I switch to parallel strategy, the mapping does not compile. It tries to call the package DBMS_APPLY, but that cannot be found:

  • Cannot find package error and cannot resolve symbol error

    Hi
    I have a file Assignment.java in C:\TIJCode\c03 folder. But this file belongs to the default package. This file imports a package com.bruceeckel.simpletest which is in C:\TIJCode\ folder. Now this package has a file named Test.java which accesses a few more files fromt he same package.
    I set the classpath to C:\TIJCode. When i try to run the Assignment file I get an error saying package com.bruceeckel.simpletest cannot be found and cannot resolve symbol error. symbol: Test Class: Assignment.
    The files in com.bruceeckel.simpletest package were not compiled. So I first tried to do that. But I get a cannot resolve symbol error while trying to compile a file NumOfLinesException which inherits SImpleTestException file. The exact error message is

    I imagine that 3.6.19 is a slightly earlier version missing a security update, compared with Firefox 3.6.20. It would be unusual for an application to not work in Firefox 3.6.20 if it works in 3.6.19
