Asking authentication for URL iView
We have created a room and we have created a URL iView whose URL points to that room. We have made some users as members of that group. When these users try to access this URL iview they get the authentication screen (despite being authenticated by portal initially). Is there any means we could bypass this authentication screen and show the URL iView without any authentication.Eagerly waiting for your replies.

Prathamesh Dalvi
hi,
in the url iview choose the options mapped user, mapped password and you need to do a user mapping.you also need to create a system for your 'room' application.
follow this link

Code for URL iView.. Please guide :)
Hello All,
Need to create an application which consists of a drop-down list & URL iView.
Depending upon the URL mentioned in the drop downlist, that particular URL iView should open.
<i>Option</i> -> The Drop-down list may or may not be in 2 seperate iViews.
I also need to exhibit the Capture fnctionality while coding/showing the URL iViews.
I would appreciate if you please guide me to how should I proceed & with URL iView APIs.
Awaiting Reply.
Thanks and Warm Regards,
RituRitu,
Split the webpage into two frames.
Frame1: Dropdown that you will dynamically populate. This will have to be coded using http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/09/9c0e41a346ef6fe10000000a1550b0/content.htm.
Next insert java script into your page so that when one of these links is selected, specifically the onChange event, the other frame gets refreshed with the webpage that you would like to have. This page gives a good example of onChange.

Remove Scroll bars in a URL iView
hi
I am attaching more than one( three or four) URL iview to a page and while opening the page, I don't want the Scroll bars to appear on the page.
how can this be done?
and heard of isolation method.....but doubts whether it is available in EP 7
Thanks in advance.I don't care about the iView functionalities...
this I am doing as part of the spacing issue I am facing with the iViews.
for URL iview I guess there is no isolation method.
for pages it comes.
but for some other iviews the isolation method is there. -
Need to send cookie to non-SAP backend from URL iView
Hi,
I have a backend application which takes a cookie for
(non-SAP) SSO purposes. I have created an URL iView
in my EP 6.0 SP2 that correctly displays the content
of that web page, i. e. the login screen.
However, even when I have a cookie in my browser, it still
displays that login screen, i. e. the cookie is either
not sent or not recognized.
I then created a simple test servlet on a backend server
that prints the contents of all the HTTP headers. When
I connect my browser directly to that page, I can see
the cookie. When I connect my iView to that URL, I
do not see the cookie. So apparently the iView does
not send the cookie.
As I learned, in EP 6.0 SP3 there is a "Fetch Mode"
property for URL iViews which allow to define whether
the URL in the URL iView should be retrieved by the
server or the client. This seems to indicate that in
SP2, always the server issues that request, which would
explain why there is no cookie in the request (since only
the browser holds these cookies). So I presume if I
would use SP3 with Fetch-Mode set to Client, this might
work. But then again, this fetch mode is not really
encouraged by the documentation and only recommended
if you are really desparate ...
So the question basically is:
- are my assumptions above correct?
- is there a way to have the EP server send cookies to
my backend systems with SP2?
I'm a little puzzled that this doesn't work out of the
box, since my understanding was that SAP SSO tokens are
also transported to backend systems using cookies, and
this is supposed to be on by default for EP. So I was
expecting to see at least the SAP SSO tokens in all
HTTP requests to backends. Apparently, the world is
not that easy.
Any insights would very much appreciated!
Thanks,
MatthiasAdditional thoughts:
In general your assumptions are correct. When using client side fetch mode then the cookie should be forwarded, and I would not expect problems there. When using server side mode then the cookie domain changes and becomes the portal domain, and as a result the cookie is kept in the browser, but is a little useless. I'm not 100% familiar with how we solve this problem when using SSO2 cookie in server side. Yoav, can you elaborate ?
The reason the documentation was not in favor of client side is because at the time the idea was to encourage the users to use the portal server cache. However, this seems less relevant now, because only the first request will be cached, but not the inner calls of the html page.
Bottom line - I don't see any issue with using client side, and actually the default in FP is client side. So I would simply modify the iview to use it. -
How can you add iview personalization to web dynpro iviews like URL iviews?
In the URL iview editor you can define URL paramaters which are available for personalization by the user from the iview's "Personalize" option.
Can this also be done using web dynpro for java iviews?
Thanks for your help.
JeffHi Jeff,
You do have a personalization that can be defined from the user, for java webdympro iview. But is not the same as you have for URL iviews.
Have a look on the links bellow:

Please remember to evaluate the replays, this incentive the SDN to keep growing,

One can access a BSP application using an URL iview from portal.
I would like to know when does one use a BSP iview(application/alias)
What are the contrasts/comparisions.?Hi Rita,
BSP is a application specific iView. The Parameters which you give are Start Page.
URL iView is a generic iView which we can use to access URL in the web in the Portal.
If you have access to Portal you can create both the iViews and if you can see the properties of each you will see a lot of changes like the System, Style Sheet etc.
to conclude BSP iView is created for the BSP applications which we write in our R/3 system. and URL iView is for the external web URL's which we would like to have it in Portal.
go through the link for URL iView:
[url iView|http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_03/helpdata/EN/4c/eee2bedf3b4082b14a933e5ee63472/frameset.htm]

Multi-language with URL-iViews
hi folks,
I have the following little problem:
Our EP is mostly based on URL-iViews to static HTML-sites in german. Now, we are planning to extend the EP with an english Version. The Users should see the portal in the language they choose in the portal personalization menu.
My first thought was to use the portal-content-translation but this doesn't work for URL-iViews, as there is almost no text to be translated.
Now, my idea is to put a little script between the portal and the HTML-sites that checks the chosen language and redirects the user to the specific version.
The Problem is, I have no idea how to do that.
It would be really nice if anyone could tell me how to do this or maybe you have a better solution for my problem.
Thank you in advance for your efforts.
Kind regards
NorbertHello Michael,
unfortunately that doesn't work.
If I put an URI like http://yourcontentserver.com/<request.language>/content1.html
in the URI file of the URL-iView Editor and after that on preview I get the following error: page could not be found
When I use a PHP-Script to catch the variable like http://yourcontentserver.com/index.php?lang=<request.language>
I can't put it like that in the URI field cause I can't save it.
When I use the URL-parameter fields and enter "lang" and "<Request.Language>" I get the following URL as an result:
http://yourcontentserver.com/index.php?lang=%3CRequest.Language%3E
As you can see, the variable isn't "translated".
Maybe you could I didn't understand you right?

EP 7.0 : URL IView app : Access as Named Anonymous fails / asks for login
Hi,
i have an Url IView loading an application which is running on the portals WebAs.
Access to the application works fine for spnego authenticated users.
For named anonymous users a loginpanel with the message upload protected area apears.
URL IView is set to anonymous auth. And the User is added to the ume.login.guest_user.uniqueids property.
In general, the named anoymous authetication is working, but not for this special case.
As we recently migrated this from 6.40 to 7.00 are there any differences we should have a look at?
The old configuration was:
NW Portal > URL-IView > WebAS > J2EE Application
The new is:
NW Portal > URL-IView -> J2EE Application
so there is no second WebAS to be configured.
Have there been changes according security zones? (As our Applicaton is no portal app it has no portalapp.xml and therefore it does not apear in security zones)
What should I be looking for to get rid of this login panel?
I did already check this according to the PUT servlet
prompt username and password for "Upload Protected Area" in web appl
Best Regards,
EckbertSome testing show that there is a differnce between the authentication mechanism of the user
Normally named Anonymous Users auth bei calling an URL like:
http://$:50000/irj/$1?j_user=anonuser&j_authscheme=guest&login_submit=on
If I use this URL-Method i can't open the application without the upload protected area pop up and re-authenticate there.
If I log in with the named anonymous user over the portal launcher by entering user and password i can call the uplication without problems.
In both cases I can see the mysapsso2 cookie beeing sent. So this should be okay.
What is the difference for the system, that makes proceeding to the application fail? -
Authentication in an application placed in an URL iview in the portal
Hi all gurus!
I have a delicate problem: we have an application that we have deployed on the same WAS as the portal runs on and that application is presented through an URL iview in the portal.
We want to use the LogonTicket created by the portal for authentication in the application and a colleague of mine put a "*" (asterisk) for requested roles in the web xml file. The problem is that the users had to be administrators in the portal in order for it to work and that is not very suitable. If you removed the admin role from the users the authentication stopped to work.
Does anyone have a step by step guide on which files to configure and how to do it properly? I have googled the problem and also searched the forum but I haven't found any solutions. My colleague followed this description and that didn't help:
I forgot to mention: it's 7.1 portal we are using.
All the best!
BennyHi Sridhar.
Thanks for the links. I followed them but I can see that SAP either are general in their instructions or, if specific, talking about Visual Admin, in any case they couldn't give a complete assistance.
Never the less I have managed to come a bit further by creating a UME role from within Identity Management in the portal and adding the application of interest to the role under the tab "Assigned Actions".
So now I'm also logged into the application when I logg on to the portal, I can see that in the portal logs. But, when I'm going to take the last step which invokes the call of a service I get a new error.
Here are two entries from the "Default trace" and beneath are two entries from the "SAP Log". I comment further in a separate answer since I otherwise exceed the maximum character length...

How to remove bullets and spacing for url links in the Related Links iview?
I tried to look for a property that I can edit the look-n-feel of the url links in the Related Link iView using "Theme Editor".
All I need is to remove the bullets and increase some vertical spacing between the links.
Currently, it looks like this:
URL iView A
URL Iview B
I go through the whole section of Related Links properties, none of them seems to do what I want.
Here are the list of properties in Related Link section (of Navigation Panel):
Link Color
Text Decoration of Link
Hover Color
Text Decoration of Hovered Link
Initially, I thought "Text Decoration of Link" should be the right property I should look at. But there are a drop-down with 5 options: None, Underline, Blinking, Overline and Line-Through, which really can't achieve what I want.
Thanks for advice.

Message was edited by: Kent C.Hi, Kai.
I checked the Related iView properties (URL Template), I don't see what layoutset it is really using. I am not sure, is that a layout set apply to the Related Link Iview?
For the regular KM iView, I will see what Layout Set I want to apply, then I can go and change the properties (of layout coontroller, collection renderer & resource renderer)you mentioned. But for this Related Link iView, I really don't know. I guess it may be in the code itself.
If there is a layout set for Related Link iView (or the place to apply layout set to it), can you point to me which one is that? (I did a search through the layout set names, I only find the AppQuicklinkExplorer (I used this for Dynamic Nav. Link iView before), if I can aply this layout set to Related Link iView, my problem will be solved.)
Thanks for help.

URL iview issue for intranet sites
Hi Guys,
I am creating a simple url iview for one of our Sharepoint site. when I preview the iview it works fine. but when I assign it to some Role, it doesn't load. "Page cann't be displayed" error comes. Some prefix with the text "res://ieframe.dll/dnserror.htm#" added it the url.
At the same time when I create url iview for internet sites they works. I have checked the Proxy settings and browser setting but no help.
Please suggest if you something to try ?
Regards
AmitHi Amit,
Can you check the NWA Logs --> Default Trace to see if there are any log messages captured for this error. And analyse them.
Also run a HTTP trace to check if the request calls generated. See if the Sharepoint URL is getting called or not. And status of response from that.
Looking at the error, would suggest you to check the host names used on the URLs, should be FQDN.
Also if your browser is IE8, may also want to add the portal and sharepoint domains to be shown in compatibility view. Can do this from Tools --> Compatibility View settings.
Finally below is a help link to set up iViews in portal for sharepoint. Can refer to this and check the steps done at your end.

Adobe Revel? I have forgotten: the URL; my username and password. How do I ask Adobe for these items? Thanking your reply !!!
[email protected]Dave,
No worries, this link will help you with your issues. You do have a revel account with that email, so resetting your password should be all you need to do. Just click on the "I forgot my password" link on the web page listed below:
http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/account-password-sign-faq.html
Once you reset your password, you should be able to login to revel at adoberevel.com on a browser or from one of our apps on mac, ios, win8, or android.

Hi
in sharepoint 2013 i created bi center site
1) and i followed best practices from Technet for how to create Secure store service, performance Point service applications
2) and added Unattended service account permissions in SSAS data sources,
3) given db_owner permissions for performance point service application pool account in content database.
4) and my requirement is that deployed dashboards and pointers can be viewable by any users , who without login to

Creating URL iview for Interaction center
Hi All,
We currently have Interaction center ( CRM application) integrated in our Portal ( EP 7.0). Due to some issues, we need to create an URL iview for Interaction center instead of a BSP application.
Pls let me know what parameters should I mention to link interaction center in portal.
For BSP ivew we just mentioned the application name and the backend alias.
how wil this work if we need to make it work through URL iview
regards
UdayI believe its not suggestable to remove that message also as it will be very very serious security threat for your machine,
try -> tools->Internet options>Security->Local internet ->Custom level->Downloads->
Automatice
Automatic prompting for downloads.->enable and try enabling Active X check boxes also give it a try not sure it will work.
use this at your own risk

Hi
We have an url iview with two Language-specific URLs (en and es) and a default URL. This iview is in anonymour portal page.
The first time that an anonymous user accees to /irj/portal/anonymous the url iview shows the default url instead of the en URL. Browser lengauge is EN.
How can i solve this??
ThanksHi,
There are two condition for the URL Language-specific :
1. You must first create the URL iView and then use the editor to use this
feature. It is not available in the URL iView Wizard.
2. You cannot apply a different look and feel to language-specific URLs.
iView content will be displayed at runtime in its native format as defined in
the source Web page. For more information, see the Keep
source formatting option in Defining the Look and Feel of the iView Content.
The remaining look and feel rendering option are supported by the default URL only.
In addition there is an option to check the service configuration of the Language-specific :
com.sap.portal.admin.wizardframework:
edit the SourceLocales field check that the requested Language is defined and if not you can add it
( Follow note# 1078145 )
After doing so , please restart the service , and check the results.
If the problem still exist let me know and we can have further investigation.
