ASO to ASO Partitioning not working in 11.1.1.3

Hi All,
We are to create a transparent partition using EAS between 2 ASO cubes. When we use member relation functions such as @IDESCENDANTS on the dimension name, the partition validates successfully however no data comes across in the target database. the member names match exactly between source and target dimensions. When we change the partition definition to use UDA function on dimension name and level 0 of dimension, the data comes through which suggests the aggregation is occuring dynamically. Not ideal as we have a over 600 users that will retrieve on the target cube.
We have tried to overcome this by building the dimensions in the source database to have Parent members to have the ~ property and level 0 members to be store. This fails as no data comes across.
As you may figure out, we have competing issues of data pull through from source database and retrieval performance.
Any thoughts on what may be going wrong here?
Ryan

Hi Thomas,
I too tried this a few days back. I am using Jdev 11.1.1.6.
Things that I noticed are :
When I only change the duration of the task, then the end time is returned to me using the dataChangeListener.
But, when I drag and drop the task to some other place, then the dataChangeListener returns me the new start time and a null value for the end time. Not sure why it returns me a null value for the end time.
I created one thread for this but no solution as of now. ADF Gantt Chart getEndTime returns null
As a workaround, what I am thinking is when I drag and drop the task, then i'll pass the new start time to a database procedure. Before updating the values in the table, we can get the duration of the task using the old start and end time. Then we can add this duration to the new start time to get the new end time. Now, we will have both the values and the same can be updated in the tables too.
I still have to do the above step. Will let you know if it works fine.
Thanks,
Ankit

Help please... I'm having a problem with my disk ulitilty.
I partition my hard drive into 2 different drives. everthing was working good. Now I'm trying to turn it back to 1 drive, but it is not working.
Everytime i try to do it, it tells me error, "Partition failed" (partition failed with error: couldn't unmount disk)
Why does this keeping happing? what am I doing wrong?
Even if I select the hard drive I don't want, hit the "-" button to remove it, it still has a error. "Partition failed" (Partition failed with the error: The requested change in size is too small)....
    What am I doing wrong?

    Try a
    PRAM RESET
    Zap the PRAM
    Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.

  • Satellite L745D-S4214 Does not boot; HDD recovery partition not working

I tried to apply the recent windows 7 updates and my laptop no longer boots.  I tried to press F12 and select the HDD Recovery partition, but it does not boot regardless.  There is a message that it does not communicate to a specific device.  I believe the address called out was 0xc0000e9, but I am going by memory.  I never created a recovery CD because I thought I was covered by the HDD partitions.  This was purchased on 10/26/2012, so it should still be under warranty.
    PLEASE HELP!

Hi I'm going to assume that your recovery works like mine and that the recovery partition is still good and not corrupted.
Shut down your PC. Press F12 and select HDD recovery. Click enter. This should start the recovery from the hidden recovery partition.
PS I would advise you to make the recovery discs or USB recovery Try this first.
    Perform a power cycle
Even when your laptop is off and unplugged, residual power can still be held in some components. While this is normal, clearing it can help with boot problems. Perform these steps to complete what’s called a power cycle.
Ensure the laptop is turned off.
Unplug the laptop's AC power cable.
Remove the battery (if the model has a removable battery).
Unplug all wires or peripherals. This includes CDs, DVDs, USB sticks, mice, printers, and any other accessories.
Hold down the power button for thirty seconds.
    Reattach the battery.
Connect the AC adaptor to the power socket that was confirmed to be working in the first step.
Connect the other end of the AC adaptor to your computer.
    Try starting the computer.
If your laptop starts normally now, you're done!

  • Windows 7 Partition not working?

Hello all, I have just received my Macbook Pro 15' i5. I installed Windows 7 64 bit using bootcamp yesterday and everything was working fine. Today while in Windows 7 I had microsoft word open as I was reviewing a text document, while performing a Bitdefender (Antivirus option that comes with the purchase of the Intego Internet Security Dual Protection) scan of virus because it kept prompting me to run a full scan of the computer. I performed a custom scan, only scanning the Windows Partition, then I proceeded to look over my text document, I was studying for an upcoming final. Then I go to the taskbar to check on the progress of the scan and that is where my computer froze up.
Pointer did not respond and the whole deal. I had to hold down the power button until my MBP shut down. I tried to boot again in my windows partition only to give me a black screen and not load at all, forcing me to shut down my MBP again.
Could anyone offer any advise as to what is going on or how to fix this? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank You!

There is no Recovery Mode. There is a Recovery HD if you run Lion or later, and need to boot from it in order to make changes to the startup drive.
    Boot Using Command+R keys:
      1. Restart the computer.
      2. Immediately after the chime press and hold down the
"COMMAND" and the "R" keys together.
      3. Release the keys when the Utilities Menu appears.
To open Disk Utility simply select it from the menu of options then click on the Continue button. I think you may need to try doing this:
Click on the Add [+] button. This should create a new partition in the Empty Space. It should be possible, now, to change the sizes of each partition. If so, then select the bottom partition and click on the Delete [-] button. Now see if you cannot expand the upper partition to its full size. If you still cannot do this then the drive is too corrupted to do anything with but re-partition it from scratch.

  • Recovery Partition Not Working

    Dear all,
I have a Elitebook 8560w with a recovery partition. Last year, I installed a SSD drive in the 2nd slot and used a third-party program (Aoemei IIRC) to create new partitions (somehow, Samsung Magician malfunctioned on the first try). Afterwards, Samsung did work (do not ask me how) and the new partitions were created.
This resulted in the following partitions.
SSD Drive (C: ) containing my documents and such.
    HP_Recovery (D: ) containing the recovery.
    HP_Tools (E: ) containing Tools I guess.
SYSTEM (F: ) containing system files.
and 2 more SSD partitions for personal use.
and my HDD (H: ) with all kinds of crap.
Now I want to recover my drive again like every year but when I open up the Recovery Manager it tries to search in X: for the Recovery Manager.exe file and can't find this (it gives an error about Runtime something) and shuts down the PC afterwards.
How can I make the recovery working again? Or, another way to format my PC. The PC came with a pre-installed version of Windows 7.
Kind regards and thanks in advance,
    Robert

You will have to delete the extra partition/partitions and convert the hard drive back to Basic.

  • Q190 Recovery Partition Not Working

    Hi,
When I first got my Q190 I installed Windows 7. When installing it asked for drivers which I installed using the recovery partition already installed on the machine. I now want to re-install Windows 7, but the issue is that the recovery partition doesn't seem to be working and I cannot gain access to it.
Does anybody know of a way to re-enable/re-install the partition?
(You should know that installed at the moment is Linux Ubuntu, which installed fine without the need for extra drivers)
    Thank you
    - Luke

    hi DEADLYshroom93,
    Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
If you have a preloaded Windows 7 OS and you didn't create a recovery disc using this method then you will need to check first if the recovery partition is still intact under Ubuntu's Disk Manager.
If the Recovery Partition is still intact, use UltimateBootCD or Hiren's Boot CD to force boot from the recovery partition
If the Recovery Partition is still intact but is corrupted / not bootable, you will need to:
    1. Check the unit for the Windows 7 sticker (product key)
    2. Download and burn a bootable Windows 7 ISO on this website (if you have a preloaded Windows 7 Home Premium 64Bit, you will need to download the same for the unit to be activated via SLIC/SLP - see this guide)
    3. Use the product key that you obtained from Step 1 if necessary.
    Hope this helps

  • Auto Partitioning not working/Manual Partitions not being recognized

This has probably been asked before, but I don't know what to search for. (Yes, I did look first.)
So, essentially, when I run the Arch setup, and use the Auto-Prepare, it gives me this:
Error partitioning /dev/sda (see /dev/tty7 for details.)
So, I was like, okay, I'll just try partitioning manually. I got all the partitions set up with sizes and whatnot, but when I went into the Set Filesystem Mountpoints, is says:
    Available disks:
    /dev/sda: 78167 Mib
So I hit OK and it asks what partition to use as a swap, but there's only NONE as an option...
Oh, and I deleted the hard drive, so there's not a space issue. Also, it's a HP Pavilion desktop...don't know if that matters or not.
    Thanks,
    ~Elec0

Make sure you're logged into the root account and not the arch account when you go to install.
It sounds dumb, but even I've made that mistake before

  • Deleting partition not working

Running 10.5.6. On a macbook pro 17". Having managed to fill up my main hd and trying to free up some space.
I'm trying to delete a 32gb partition I made and no longer have the use for.
I went into disk utility and erased the partition. Then went to the partition section of the main volume to press the minus button to get rid of it but when I did that I got a message that said..
"Partition failed with the error: Could not unmount disk"
So returning to that partition I right-click it and choose to mount the disk. Which i then told me "The disk "disk0s3" could not be mounted. Try running First Aid on the disk and then retry mounting."
(disk0s3 is the name of the partition)
Ok ok.. so i go to run first aid... The only option I have here is verify disk.
The things I see in red..
"Volume Bit Map needs minor repair.
    Invalid Volume file count.
    Volume header needs minor repair
The volume disk0s3 needs to be repaired
Error: Filesystem verify or repair failed"
Ok.. so.. i don't want to alter my larger volume I simply want to delete the smaller one. Any suggestions or means of getting this done? or what step I should take next? Run to the apple store and say "fix it!"

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
You need to boot from your install disc and navigate to Disk Utility on the install disc. Then select the 32 GB partition and see if you can repair it. Repair it until there is nothing left to repair. Maybe once it's repaired, you will be able to delete it.
    Good luck.

  • Recovery partition not worked

    I have a HP Pavillion 15
I used epm to split my C Drive into two, after system restart o am unable to open windows an revovery error 0xc0000225 apear . I used windows dvd to install fresh copy and after system system start i want to recover the original widows from the recovery partition but again 0xc0000225 error apeared . I tried to make the recovery partition active from disk managment but no option to make it active ( just help option )
I tried diskpart commands to make it active but msg shows that
The selected disk is not a fixed MBR disk
The active command csn only be used on fixed MBR disk
could you please help me to recover my os

Making changes to the factory disk partitioning scheme results in what you are experiencing. That is unfortunately what happens when you don't know how a disk is setup before making changes. From your rpost it would seem that you didn't make a recovery image just in case everything went wrong as it did. I always keep an image around just for that reason. I generally use Paragon Hard disk manager for that purpose. Use the usb recovery flashdrive that you should have created by now to perform a factory image recovery. The original disk partitioning format was GPT, not MBR.  The reason you can't boot is that what you did broke the BCD store. You may be able to repair it with EasyBCD, depending on how much experience you actually have with windows operating systems.  Disclaimer:Paragon Software does provide me with NFR copies of their software for my use to review.

  • How to clone Boot Camp partition when Winclone does not work

The hard drive in my MacBook Pro is failing. It has 2 partions, one for Apple and the other is a Bootcamp with Windows 7.
I tried repairing it with Disk Utility, which did not work. I also ran DiskWarrior, which resulted in the error message: "Directory cannot be rebuilt due to disk hardware failure". I was able to copy my Apple files through DiskWarrior although there were a couple of errors.
My question is how to clone my Bootcamp Partition. I tried making an image with Disk Utility but it failed. I also tried using Winclone and it failed indicating there were hard drive issues.
Is there another way to try to copy the Bootcamp partition? I can boot to Apple so running a program/app or trying UNIX commands might work.
    Thank you in advance.

Some previous forum comments I have collected regarding backup of BootCamp.
Acronis 2011 w/ plus pak, didn't work well previously
    Ghost 15 - probably not
Casper 6 works for Windows on Boot Camp only
CopyCatX is more lengthy and sector copy so takes the longest.
Paragon Hard Drive Suite 2011 because it works great and they have CampTune
Windows 7 system backup and restore - Apple's goofy HFS read-only interferes with system and file backup.
I have also used Casper, Clonezilla and Paragon but less regularly, Casper failed a few times, I stopped using it, Clonezilla worked but took forever (for me) Paragon (which I have only used twice) was the best but my sample is limited.
I have restored from DU, CCC, SuperDuper and TM, they all worked, TM was slower but not a lot, you can boot from the others, which I prefer.
Paragon HDM 2011 can do either offline or online backups, the difference is that with an offline backup, the entire partition (or disk) is unallocated. In an online backup, the backup utility is running against a partition that may be making changes to itself. When you run CCC or SD! in OS X, you're running an online backup. However, I would recommend (at least for the first backup) that you boot from the HDM recovery CD to do an offline backup. This will ensure that you have an *exact* copy of the parition/disk.
I tried the native Windows backup utility.  It worked to backup and restore my Windows partition, but I noticed a "bad" side effect.  When I would restore a Windows Backup to my HD, it would corrupt my MacOS boot partition, so I would then have to restore the Mac partition as well.
Winclone allows you to migrate your Bootcamp partition from one Mac to another Mac and make sure Windows will boot. However, if the processor (for example, Core Duo or i7) is a different type, the restored version of Windows may not be supported or be able to run on the new Mac. If you are migrating between Macs that are the same type (MacBook Air to MacBook Air, for example), you will have the greatest chance of success. You can try to restore Winclone images between different types of Macs (for example, a Mac Pro to a Mac Mini), but be aware that if Windows boots but does not reach the desktop, it is probably not an issue with Winclone, but rather the change in processor type.

  • TV on demand not working with FF on XP partition works fine with iexplorer or on Linux partition?

I have been use firefox on XP and Linux for years and I watch and listen to the BBC iplayer as well as four on demand, five on demand ect. a few days ago this just stopped working.
At first I thought it was the iplayer not working but tried looking at other site and they are not working. Youtube is fine though.
When I switched to my Linux partition it works fine then I tried iexplorer and the sites works fine.
I have explored at length for answers online and the only thing I have come up with is 'Npdsplay dll' plugin for FF but I appear to have the latest version.
Should I try one of the fix tools online I am always a bit dubious about these downloads?
    Cheers Tony.

There are a number of active threads concerning the latest Flash player plugin (11.3) and the latest Firefox (13). Not all users are experiencing the same issues, but things to check include the following:
    - Conflict with Realplayer Browser Record plugin (to disable this, open Add-ons from the orange Firefox button or the classic Tools menu and look under the Extensions and Plugins categories)
    - Conflict with Flash 11.3 Protected Mode (see [http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1018071?tstart=0 Adobe Forums: How do I disable Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?])
Scanning down the front of the forums probably will yield additional suggestions: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions

  • Hello, I am trying to upgrade to yosemite, but I get the "disk cannot be used to startup your computer" error. Resizing the partition does not work, I get the error "MediaKit reports no such partition" probably because I installed linux in dual boot

Hello, I am trying to upgrade my macbook pro to yosemite, but I get the "disk cannot be used to startup your computer" error.
Resizing the partition does not work for me and I get the error "MediaKit reports no such partition" probably because I installed linux in dual boot and the disk manager is lost.
Anyway to tell the yosemite installer that it should not pay attention whether the disk is bootable or not ?
If I am doomed, any way to delete the installer and downloaded OS from my hard drive ?
    Thanks for your help

As usual, the Linux installer wrecked the partition table. You would have to boot from your OS X installation disc and repartition. Doing so will of course remove all data from the drive, so you must back up first if you haven't already done so.

  • Windows updates not working because it extract patches on Mac partition first., Windows updates not working because it extract patches on Mac partition first.

I have installed BootCamp 5.1 and Windows updates not working because it extract files on Mac partition before installation. Is there any workaround for same ?

To replicate this issue - Try to download .net framework 4.5 from microsoft website and than run that setup on windows partition.
Before installation. it will first extract all the binaries to a other drivers, since in my case other primary drive is E which is a Mac partition so it always give me an error while extractiing and therefore setup is not able to execute propely.
Let me try to get the screen shot of error and send it here.
