ASP Page to query report

Hi there,
So a long time ago we had a developer who set up an asp page that loads through some of our applications.  The asp page points to a specific report, depending on where it is called from within our application and also the parameters for that specific report are provided in the URL when it is called.  Then the report being requested from within our application is displayed with the given paramaters that are provided by our application.
We are working on preparing to migrate everything to a new server, this is all on a windows 2003 server running like crystal server 8 or something, to a new server that is currently running crystal server 2013.  Is what I am describing possible on crystal server 2013 and if so, what would I need to set up server side to allow our applications to work the same as they are?

If you pull the reports from Crystal Reports Server (CRS), you'll have to log in to CRS to get to them.  You'll also need the latest Service Pack of the BI Platform 4.1 .NET SDK to connect to the server. (version 14.1.x of the assemblies).  You'll run a query on the CMS database (through the SDK - you can't query it directly) to get information about the report and then either build an OpenDocument URL to open the report or open it in the viewer that comes with the SDK.  You can find more information about OpenDocument here:  http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/sbo41/en/sbo41_opendocument_en.pdf.  Unfortunately, the documentation for the .NET SDK is virtually non-existent and what is available is not very good.  However, I have some sample C# code for working with the SDK on my website (http://www.dellstinnett.com/sample_code.html) that includes a couple of tutorial programs that show how to work with the SDK.
If you're not connecting to CRS, you'll use the SAP Crystal Reports for Visual Studio SDK, which you can download here:  http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-7824.  Get the latest "Install Executable" for integration into Visual Studio - the other downloads on the same line are for various types of runtime installs.  This will allow you to open reports directly from files.  You can get more information about this SDK here:  SAP Crystal Reports, developer version for Microsoft Visual Studio – SAP Help Portal Page

  • Set Page item value when paging through an sql query report

    I have a report that includes a checkbox to indicate which rows a process is to be run on. I have a "Select All" button that sets a value to check all boxes in the report, and deselect button to turn that feature off. The page only renders one of the buttons at a time depanding on the value. If the "Select All" is turned on, I would like to set the value to "OFF" when a user goes to another page of the report.
    For example:
    A user enters the page and the report is rendered. The rows returned are greater than what is displayed. The paging options for the report are shown. 1-15 16-30 etc. It is currently showing the first 15 rows of the report.
    The user clicks the select all button, and all checkboxes are now checked. Currently it will remain this way until the deselect button is clicked.
    When the user clicks the report paging, I would like to set the value of the Select All item to off.
    Does anyone know how to do this at this point?

  • ABAP QUERY Report : column number change

    Hi friends,
    I need to modify the existing ABAP QUERY REPORT.
    I have added a new field in the selection screen.
    When I execute the query, it(our new filed) is displaying at the end of the columns.
    But I want it to be at 8th columns. please help me.
    When I try to change the out position to "8"at "Basic list" -> select check box of our field and double clict it, I am getting the following error.
    Warning: Overlapping fields
    Those fields overlapped by other fields will not be displayed in their entirety.
    So I could not display the new field at 8 th column.
    Guys. Please help me.

    Hi
    You have to change the position of each field after 8th column
    suppose you added your new field at the 8th column position
    then all the subsequent fields positions you have to adjust as per their length
    You have to do like this to adjust the columns
    see the doc on query

    ABAP query is mostly used by functional consultants.
    SAP Query
    Purpose
    The SAP Query application is used to create lists not already contained in the SAP standard system. It has been designed for users with little or no knowledge of the SAP programming language ABAP. SAP Query offers users a broad range of ways to define reporting programs and create different types of reports such as basic lists, statistics, and ranked lists.
    Features
    SAP Query's range of functions corresponds to the classical reporting functions available in the system. Requirements in this area such as list, statistic, or ranked list creation can be met using queries.
    All the data required by users for their lists can be selected from any SAP table created by the customer.
    To define a report, you first have to enter individual texts, such as titles, and select the fields and options which determine the report layout. Then you can edit list display in WYSIWYG mode whenever you want using drag and drop and the other toolbox functions available.
    ABAP Query, as far as I Believe, is the use of select statements in the ABAP Programming. This needs a knowledge of Open SQL commands like Select,UPdtae, Modify etc. This has to be done only by someone who has a little bit of ABAP experience.
    To sum up, SAP queries are readymade programs given by SAP, which the user can use making slight modification like the slection texts, the tables from which the data is to be retrieved and the format in which the data is to be displayed.ABAP queries become imperative when there is no such SAP query existing and also when there is a lot of customizing involved to use a SAP Query directly

  • How to add/create additional page in Crystal Report Layout SAP B1

    Hi,
    I wanna ask about How to add/create additional page in Crystal Report Layout SAP B1 ?
    I want when user print Purchase Order then on last page also print some page like Penalty Clause etc.
    Pls help me to find the solution.

    Hi,
    In your report footer, set it to create a new page before it is printed (In 'Section Expert', select the Report Footer -> 'Paging' tab -> Check 'New Page Before' checkbox). Throw your Terms & Conditions into the Report Footer section.
    If you already have a Report Footer that you want to keep, just split the footer into two sections (Right-click the Report Footer section -> 'Insert Section Below') and follow the same procedure for the newly created section.

  • How can I print a label on the last page of the report in the margin

    I would like to display a label on my report but has to appear only on the last page of the report in the margin area or as a footer. I have tried using the solution below that I came across in this forum. This solution only worked if I put the label as a report trailer and not in the margin of the main section of report. The problem of putting the label as a report trailer is that it will only appear at the end of the report on it's own page, i.e. on a new page. I would like the label to appear at the end of the report, on the last page which has the other report details and not to appear on a new page on its own. Could you please help? Thanks.
    1. Create a dummy query, like
    select 1 dummy
    from dual
    2. Create a package spec:
    PACKAGE pkg_globals IS
    totalPages number(3);
    END;
    2. Create a repeating frame and field for this dummy at the end of the report layout.
    3. Create a format trigger for this frame:
    function R_1FormatTrigger return boolean is
    begin
    SRW.GET_PAGE_NUM(pkg_globals.totalPages);
    return (FALSE);
    end;
    4. Create a format trigger for your margin field:
    function F_1FormatTrigger return boolean is
    pagenum number;
    begin
    srw.get_page_num(pagenum);
    if pagenum = pkg_globals.totalPages then
    return (TRUE);
    else
    return (false);
    end if;
    end;

  • SQL Query report region that only queries on first load

    Hello all,
    Is there any way in which you can prevent a SQL Query report region from quering data after every refresh?
    I would like to make a report that queries on the first load, but then I would like to change the individual values, and reload to show the change, but every time I reload the page the columns are queried and the original values are displayed once again...
    any ideas?

    Chet,
    I created a header process to create the HTMLDB_COLLECTION. It is something like:
    HTMLDB_COLLECTION.CREATE_COLLECTION_FROM_QUERY(
    p_collection_name => 'Course_Data',
    p_query => 'SELECT DISTINCT COURSE_ID, HTMLDB_ITEM.CHECKBOX(14,COURSE_ID) as "checker", TITLE, SUBJECT, COURSE_NUMB, SECTION, ENROLLED, null as "temp_term", null as "temp_title", null as "temp_crse_id", null as "temp_subj", null as "temp_crse_numb", null as "temp_sect", FROM DB_TBL_A, DB_TBL_B, DB_TBL_C, DB_TBL_D, DB_TBL_E, DB_TBL_F WHERE ...');
    The names were changed, for obvious reasons.
    I then created an SQL Report Region to see if it would work. The SQL is:
    SELECT c001, c002, c003
    FROM htmldb_collections
    WHERE collection_name = 'COURSE_DATA'
    When I run the page it says:
    ORA-20104: create_collection_from_query Error:ORA-20104: create_collection_from_query ExecErr:ORA-01008: not all variables bound
    Any idea why this is happening?
    I'm new to HTMLDB_COLLECTIONS, so I may be doing something wrong

  • Setting a Default Value in SQL Query Report

    Hello:
    We are using a SQL Query Report to provide a mass update to a table. We are using the apex.collection and having it display a number of records in a SQL Query Report for mass update. We have 14 columns in the report, for which the first 11 are populated via the collection. The remaining 3 are open for input but the individual making the updates. We've were able to provide a default value for 2 of the remaining 3 columns using a named LOV's - however the fourth column we would like to default a sysdate - but we are not successful.
    We've attempted many things but none seem to work, including adding that column to the collection and assigning it a default sysdate value. We've also tried changing the settings in the report attributes --> Tabular Form Elements by setting the Display as to: Datepicker, Default type to PL/SQL Expression and setting the default to sysdate. We've also tried caputuring a date on the previous page and loading it onto the report page and trying to default the date column to a page item default.
    I'd appreciate any help.
    Thanks
    FYI - we are using version 3.2

    use as default
    to_char(sysdate, 'dd/mm/yyy') where the format is your application or item date format

  • How to get the text field in the header for only first page of the report

    Hi,
    I am developing reports in BI Publisher Enterprise where i am facing problem i.e., i have to get some text field in header,for only first page in the result but it is displaying in all the other pages of the report in result.So,please if you have any idea of how to solve it, please reply.It is required as early as possible.
    Thanks in Advance

    Invalid path? What are you doing? Writing the report output to an invalid directory?
    Where are your terms and conditions? It would be very easy just to put them in a database table and select them in your report query.

  • Sap query & reporting

    Hi,
    Any book that can be suggested for report writer/report painter & query reporting.. that contains almost all for reporting without programming..
    Thanks in advance...
    Vipin Arora..

    Hello Vipin,
    Sap Query
    The SAP Query application is used to create reports not already contained in the default.
    The SAP Query comprises five components: Queries, InfoSet Query, InfoSets, User Groups and Translation/Query.
    Please refer:
    http://www.thespot4sap.com/Articles/SAP_ABAP_Queries_Introduction.asp
    A query can be created to extract information from master records i.e Infotypes.
    <u>Creation of new query:</u>
    1. T.Code SQ03 - Select Environment – Select Standard Area - Enter -- If new user group is to be created, enter name of the user group, click on create and enter necessary information and exit after saving
    2. T.Code SQ02 - Enter name of the Infoset – Create – enter name of Infoset
    3. T.Code SQ03 - Select user group
    Infoset - Enter name of newly created Infoset
    Assign users and Infosets - Assign infosets
    After creating a query use SQ01 & run.

  • Calling the ASP page through a BSP application

    Hi,
    We are in the process of implementing Digital signature for SRM cFolders.
    BSP application : CFX_RFC_UI
    Pages with flow logic : doc_de_download
    The digitally signed files are uploaded to the cFolders.On click of a
    particular file in cFolders, the 'ASP' page residing on the server in IIS
    vertual directory i.e. 'verifyfile.asp' should get called.This ASP page has
    the logic to verify the signed file.
    The signed file resides on the file system in the same vertual directory.
    As a result we want to post a message on the screen which
    will be the output of the ASP page logic.
    Please suggest the way to achieve this.

  • Query /report asking for input ? in Apex

    Hello all, my name is John and I am asking for help with the following,
    I am new to Oracle, Apex and SQL, PL/SQL (as you can tell from my query below.)
    I have the very basics of Apex (in that of making reports,forms etc).
    I created this query on a view in SQL Developer where it is asking for start and end dates to filter the report. , which is what I want it to do and returns the results I want.
    Now I would like to create a report in Apex where it asks for the between dates as it does in the posted query, When that is done I want to pass it to the bipublisher report for pdf printing.
    I am running this query as a totals report already (without the line with WHERE clause query asking of course.) in an apex application, crude as it may be.
    I have it running as a Interactive reports and can filter the dates that way of couse but I want to learn to create the user input type query/report in Apex.
    I have been reading that I would need to use a "pl/sql anonymous block with a "declare' and a page process?. (gettting confused in the "declare" variables and the execute sections)
    I have looked at numerous samples and still do not quite getting the blocks down.
    If you could point me in the right direction of where to go or better yet if someome could show me coding on how to get this to work in apex report/query (s)?
    Slow learn I guess
    I am using APEX 3.1.2 on 11g database.
    Thanks in advance for help on this.

    Hi Martin,
    Thank you for the information, it is a real help to me and gives me more insight toward my learning .
    It took me little while , the condition had to be modified a little bit
    (had to put parentheses around the :PXXX_START_DATE .... END_DATE, and remove the period to get it to work).
    where (:PXXX_START_DATE) is not null and (:PXXX_END_DATE) is not null
    It does work to the sense it shows the start and end date fields and the button and the report results below that, and you can enter the dates and the results change.
    Looking at my question, I should have been a little more clear in the fact I want query to ask for the dates first in a pop up type window, when you press the "Show Report" button,
    and then branches off to show the report. That is the reason I think, I referred to a block or procedure to acomplish this?
    Thanks and still learning
    John

  • Creating a directory via a jsp page sql query return

    Is it possible to create a directory based on the results of a sql query?
    i.e.
    My sql query returns application number 1234 for a building application (BC for short).
    Is it possible to create a directory /BC/1234
    It is then proposed to use an iframe to look into the directory so users can place and access scanned documents which are captured during the approval process.
    If so how?
    An example would be great.
    Jason

    Sorry hope your still around I've been away for a while. We've created a samber share to the file server where the documents are stored and mounted it within the web file directory. It works ok if there is an existing directory but if there isn't we want it to be created when the page looks for the folder. I've done this with an asp page it basically did a directory exist test first then create folder if it didn't. The problem is can't find an example of how to do the directory exist test then directory create syntax so an example of both would be great

  • How do I get LONG RAW from Oracle with ASP page designed in Dreamweaver

    Hello,
    I have a single entry field the user enters a SSN to search a database, the query searches one table which returns the data.
    Unfortunately one of the fields in the table is a LONG RAW field.
    How do I create the ASP page to display the LONG RAW data correctly?
    Thanks,
    Adam

    You can use XSU with Oracle 8.1.6:
    xsu12_816.jar: for Java 1.2
    xsu111_816.jar: for Java 1.1
    Please refer to the following link to download the XDK for Java:
    http://otn.oracle.com/software/tech/xml/xdk_java/content.html
    For XSU document:
    http://otn.oracle.com/docs/tech/xml/xdk_java/doc_library/Producti
    on9i/java/xsu/readme.html
    XSU provide both JAVA and PL/SQL APIs.
