Asset Write up Issue

Hi Guys,
We started write-up the asset with transaction ABAW and no errors occourred.
Second step: we change the depreciation key in asset master data (transaction AS02) from status MANU to status ZSL0
Third step: we runned the depreciation calculation (transaction AFAB)
Everything seems to be running smooth and no errors were displayed.
Running asset list (ART0 transaction) we discover that:
- the depreciation started correctly
- NO NET BOOK VALUE WAS in asset list , no evaluation was taken in consideration from the system.
- In AW01N transaction all the changes were displayed correctly but ONLY IN THE PLANNED VALUES, NOT IN POSTED VALUES.
Why the system has not posted in the POSTED VALUES?
Please help us resolve this issue.
Thanks,
Srik..

Hi,
We need to write up an asset , but the book value of the asset and not the depreciations. Looking in the ABZU it seems that all the transaction type, are connected with depreciations write-up.
Using any transaction type, it seems that the depreciation is the only value we can write up.
Is there any transaction with which i I can write-up on an asset (e.g.) a book value of 200 USD and then start depreciations on this value?
Can anyone suggest me how we can achieve this.
Thanks,
Srikanth.

  • Assets Write-Ups ABZU

    Hi,
I want to post assets write up with $ 5000 and want this to affect the NBV. What is happening is that some of the amount get caught into ordinary depreciation so ultimate impact is just $ 4000.00.
This way my depreciation for the year is increased and my NBV is falling short by $ 1000.00.
I tried using different Dep key but they make things more complex due to recalcuation.
Please suggest how to avoid assets write posted from getting depreciated in that year or month?
    Best Regards
    Rajesh

    Thanks George,
You have understood my requirement correctly, infact I would favour to post the write up on the last day of the last period of the fiscal year.
I want that NBV gets affected with the writeup year end (the day write is posted) while the depreciation is recalculated from the next fiscal year.
Does this allow affecting the NBV year end?

  • BAPI for ABZU - Asset Write UP

    Hi
I need to post asset write up documents through ABZU tcode. Can any one help me out with the appropriate BAPI for the same.
BDC will not solve my problem as the set of screen changes as per the 'Transaction Type'.
    Regards,
    Sudip Kumar Das.

Write up is allowed only to the extent of accumulated depreciation from previous years.  You can do write up "ABZU". however the accumulated depriciation balance has to carry forward from last fiscal year to current fiscal year and you can do writeup only upto the accumulated depr from the previous yr

  • Asset Write-off in Advance..

    Hi All,
Can anybody explain me about an asset write-off procedure before the End-of-Date of that asset value date.
For example Asset having the End-of-date as 31.12.2008. For this, we want to write-off this asset on 31.10.2007.
    Thanks in Advance...

    Hi Pal,
    Thanks for your reply..
Here, we are having around 70 assets. For that we can do like this??
If we will do 100% dep. now itself, the remaining amount  will post to the depreciation account na?? With this no problem??
    Please reply me...

  • Park Asset Write Off Posting

    Dear SAP Gurus,
Can anyone help me with one of the Asset scenarios, whereby the user wants to have the option to park the asset write off first before making the actual posting. I can't seems to find any function available for this. If not, can anyone suggest if there's other way to resolve this.
Thank you very much. Your advice is much appreciated.

  • Asset write-ups

    Hi,
I've posted the asset legacy balance via F-02 without accumulated value. Now I'm trying to post the accumulated value on August 2007 via ABZU but the system prompt an error message "You cannot post write-ups".
Is there any configuration that I need to set-up first before I can execute tcode ABZU?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi ,
You need to ensure that the Transaction Type 700 is not checked for no manual use & also you need to limit Transaction types to dep areas.
Go to Tcodes AO78 then OAXE.
    It should resolve your issue.
Please reward points as a way saying thanks....
    Have fun

  • Asset Write-Up

    Hello -
My client is trying to add $20,000 to an asset that they capitalized last year.   We will just add the 20,000 as of 01/01/2008.
When I try to do the write-up  (tcode abzu) using transaction type 700, I get an error saying that there is an inconsistency between my company's depreciation areas and transaction type 700.
If i look at my deprecition areas for my chart of depreciatioin, i see we are using several of them.  What needs to be configured so this transaction can be allowed?
    Thanks for your time!
    Natalie

    Hi Vinod -
Thanks for your help and sorry for the delay.  Its Christmas in the US right now ... not sure where you are ....

        Message no. AA380
    Diagnosis
Inconsistency between the specifications for transaction type 700 and
for the depreciation areas in chart of depreciation BP01.
Depreciation area 32 is defined (in Customizing), so that it is required
to take over values from area 01.  However, one of these ares cannot be
posted to, due to the specifications in transaction type 700.  This
        combination is not allowed.
    Procedure
In Asset Customizing, maintain the specifications in transaction type
700 for the depreciation areas that can be posted using this
        transaction.

  • Write permissions issues / lots of "ACL found but not expected" errors / hardware failure? on brand new Mac Mini (still within warranty). OSX Mavericks 10.9.1.

I was hoping that I could receive some feedback from you fine folks here
    My situation:
I bought a 2012 Mac Mini 2.6 Ghz Intel Core i7 from the online Apple store. It came with Mavericks 10.9.1 pre-installed and was delivered two days ago (I know, the mini update is evident but I needed the machine).
I noticed that I had to enter my password every time I created, moved or deleted a folder. I did not think much of it.
I did, however, think much of not being able to install files from certain developers. I received the "The installer is damaged" notification as shown in this topic: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5541793
This screenshot is someone elses, I tried to install audio software.
Based on that error, I contacted the developer of the software. But then I noticed that I got the same error for other developers too.
I tried the solution that the topic starter marked as solving his issue in https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5541793. It involves booting in OSX Recovery (command+R) and excecuting the 'resetpassword' command. That did not work for me. It also looks like my password data isn't stored as I do not see the 'obfuscated' password dots that the screenshot shows in that topic, even when I entered and saved it multiple times -- but I'm not sure if that is part of the main issue (which I'm gettting to).
I also made sure gatekeeper allows applications to be installed from unidentified developers, as shown here: http://www.instantteamspeak.com/static/en/img/mac-gatekeeper-anywhere.png That didn't help either.
Next I opened up Disk Utility and ran a check on write permissions. That got me worried.
The check ran for a long time, spitting out "ACL found but not expected" errors.
I proceeded to restore write permissions. That took 20-25 minutes.
Once it finished I checked write permissions again. An equal amount of permissions needed to be restored! It's as if Mavericks didn't remember anything it did.
The good news is that I could now install the files I previously couldn't, but the fact that I've restored write permissions three times now, and each time it seems as if nothing of that is remembered, has gotten me worried.
I've made a video with some explanation here http://youtu.be/a0hKQvy-Km8 - my sincerest apologies for the shaky camera.
I then checked the hard disk and the partition above it. The Macintosh HD gave me the green 'ok' light, but something weird happened when I checked the partition on the level above it. It will take ages to finish and I see Disk Utility doing some strange 'jumping around': http://youtu.be/hyLAEhLRnKc (warning - long video so you might want to skip through it. The point is to demonstrate how long it takes).
When I checked the hard disk for a second and third time, I got 'everything ok' results pretty quickly.
Checking both the HD and the partition above it again, this is what happens (and what now worries me the most): http://youtu.be/4l2Fb2RvOW4
Edit: I sum up my findings at the end of the video, might be better to skip here and then watch the full thing only if it's not clear yet.
There is some further explanation in the video. It basically comes down to Disk Utility not finishing/not providing any conslusion, while Activity Monitor shows it's not doing anything -- please bare with me when watching the video, I know it's not the most exhiting video ever posted on YouTube but it does bring my point across (there is some more talk in this one; not sure if that's an improvement in terms of entertainment value though ).
** Is my hard disk failing? In that case I'll return the Mac immediately.
** Or just a software issue?
As said, this Mac Mini is brand new. If at some stage anyone would feel the wise thing to do is to return my Mac, please do let me know. There is a 14 day return policy in The Netherlands (on top of other warranties) and I'd rather return it in case of doubt, than end up with technical issues with this machine once I've started working with it. I'm ok with doing some troubleshooting if the machine is fine, but I'd rather not take a gamble with a 1200 € machine under warranty.
Thank you so much in advance - your help is highly appreciated.

  • Fixed asset Write up Error. ABZU(Parallel depreciation area 32 is not poste

    Hi Sap Gurus,
I am running into an error when trying to post a write up via "ABZU". Here is the error message "Parallel depreciation area 32 is not posted". Message no. AA565.
    Diagnosis
The asset to be posted does not manage parallel depreciation area 32, or transaction type  that you are using is limited to certain depreciation areas, and does not contain depreciation area 32. This is incorrect.
    System Response
    Posting is rejected.
    Procedure
Check the asset and the transaction type.
I tried "Limit Transaction Types to Depreciation Areas" in t-code:OAXE for derpeciation area 01 and 32 but still i am getting the same error. I am using ttype:700. When i look into derpeciation tab in asset master record i have depreciation area 32 is there. Is there any configuration piece i am missing. We are using area 32 as IFRS in group which is copy of 01.
    Any help will be appreciate.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Babu

    Hi,
    There are the following reasons:
    1) The wrong transaction type is being used.  Please verify that  you are using transaction type in the 700 series for your write-up.
    2) The transaction type is restricted to certain depreciation areas.   In transaction OAXE the transaction type can be restricted to post  only to certain areas.  If the asset manages a parallel area you  have to extend the posting to include the parallel area.
    3) The asset was created before you introduced parallel currencies and  does not manage the parallel area.  In this case, the parallel  area must be created on the asset or the values need to be  transferred to a new asset that manages the parallel area.
    4) Transacion types 600 and 601 can only be used for assets that have a  calculation key in their depreciation area that allows no automatic  calculation (for example depr key MANU).  The unplanned transaction types however can be used with assets that  allow automatic calculation.
You also need to verify that there are entries in Table ANLB for the  asset in question for the depreciation area.
    5) Your company code uses parallel currencies (currency types 10-co.code  currency, 50-Index based currency, 30-Group currency...for example).  The assets created in this company code must have the depreciation areas for parallel currencies active. You can only do this in activating the depreciation areas with  parallel currencies for all the asset classes used in this company code.
Check transaction OAYZ to make sure the areas are activated for all  asset classes in the co.code.  If not, you will need to       activate these areas and ensure the asset has all areas assigned.

  • ABZU - Asset Write-Up

    Dear All,
I have attempted to perform a write-up for fixed assets in April 2008 which was capitalised in the
current year January 2008. However the system does not allow me to post.
However if I attempt to perform a write-up for fixed assets in April 2008 which was capitalised in Prior Year 2007, the system allows me to post.
Would someone advise why the system is behaving in such a way?
Why are we not allowed to post a write-up on the NBV for assets capitalised in the current year?
    Thanks in Advance,
    Puzzled.

Write up is allowed only to the extent of accumulated depreciation from previous years.  You can do write up "ABZU". however the accumulated depriciation balance has to carry forward from last fiscal year to current fiscal year and you can do writeup only upto the accumulated depr from the previous yr

  • Asset write up in current year acquisitions

    HI everyone,
I know we cannot post write up's for current year acquisitions,  but my client wants to post the write up for the current year, because he does not want to show it for parallel ledger.
Can we make it happen, Pls suggest
    Thanks in advance
    Sree

    Hi Sree,
you can go to the following Customizing path:
    -> Financial Accounting
       -> Asset Accounting
        -> Depreciation
         -> Unplanned depreciation
-> Define Transaction Types for Unplanned Depreciation
-> Define Transaction Types for Unplanned Depreciation (AO78)
=> Here, you can copy the transaction type eg 640 to Z64 OR 650 to Z65 (depending on the transaction type that you use in ABAA).
=> Here you have the flag for Debit and Credit, which you have to change as described above.
After creating the new transaction type, please proceed to the following  path:
    -> Financial Accounting
      - > Asset Accounting
        -> Depreciation
         -> Unplanned depreciation
-> Define Transaction Types for Unplanned Depreciation
-> Limit Transaction Types to Depreciation Areas (OAXE)
Here, you can select the transaction type created (eg. Z64 or Z65) in the previous step and limit the transaction to  non leading ledger.
After that, please run ABAA using the newly created transaction type and  non leading should only be updated as described above.
Please test out the transaction in testing/development server before you apply this to the production server.

  • Asset Write Up Book Value

    Hi,
We need to write up an asset , but the book value of the asset and not the depreciations.
    Thanks,
    Srikanth.

    Shrikanth
You cannot do write-ups for assets alone.
You will have to create a new Z report / tcode form the ABAPers for the same. Such a function dsnt exist in the standard system.

  • Asset write off in the current fiscal year.

    Hi Experts,
I want to write off an asset in next 4 periods of the current fiscal year 2007. For example:
    Asset 11000
    APC value: 10000
    APC Date: 01.01.2005
The useful life will end in fiscal year 2008.
The book value left at the begining of the current fiscal year 2007 Rs. 4000.00
In the current fiscal year this asset has already been depreciated for previuos 3 periods.
Now Business wants to write off ( fully depreciated ) this asset in next 4 periods equally and then if the book value and tax value is nil, they want to scap the asset.
Now can you please tell me how to make this happened. Its very urgent. If you need any more information, most welcome.
    Rgds,
    BABA

    Hi,
You would have to set the asset to manual depreciation(Depr.Key MANU)
and generate a posting via ABMA for each of the periods.
    Kind regards
