    Hi,
    I have a flat look up table.
    In that i want to create 4 Flat lookup fields....... one of them will be a display field.
    But when i Verify Repository with this structure then it gives me Fatal Error:
    $$$ Fatal error(1323): Table 'Product Hierarchy'(A2i_24) does not have valid display field(s): 1:79;.
    $$$ Invalid display fields are 79.
    $$$ Table Product Hierarchy must have one or more display fields.
    When i repair the repository......... it adds 1 Text Display field in my table.
    Does is mandatory to have 1  text/integer field in lookup table?
    If NO what i m doing wrong & if YES then Why?

  • Key Mapping for Flat lookup tables

    Hi,
    How do we decide if we need to make Key Mapping "Yes" for flat look-up tables?
    Can anyone plz explain with an eg on where to make key mapping yes or no for Flat Tables.
    Thanks,
    Ketan

    Hi,
    Can anyone plz explain with an eg on where to make key mapping yes or no for Flat Tables.
    1. A remote system’s objects are mapped to master data objects within MDM using key mapping. A key mapping maintains the relationship between the remote system’s identifier (or key) for an object and the corresponding master data object in MDM.
    2. in the data manger based upon some strategy, you found that 4 records are duplicate, and then you merged into single record.
    the merged record is having 4 records inside it with respective remote keys.
    if you want to edit those records, key mapping should be enabled for that particular table.
    3. while harmonizing the records to the respective client systems, you can use edit key mapping functionality for merged records.
    if you enabled key mapping functionality in the console for the particular table, then only you can aceess EDIT KEY MAPPINGS functionality in data manager & syndicator.
    hope this may help you,

  • Import of Main and Lookup table in a single Map

    Hey Guys,
    I am developing a Proof of Concept to Import Main and Lookup-Flat in a single Import Map (by using a single excel file).
    Below is my Table structure:
    Main Table: Customer
    --->Customer_Number (Text,Unique Field, Display Field)
    --->Sales_Area (Lookup Flat)
    Lookup Table: Sales_Area
    Sales_Area_ID (Text,Unique Field,Display Field)
    Sales_Area_Desc (Text,Display Field).
    The import File (excel) has below attributes:
    Customer_Number,Sales_Area_ID,Sales_Area_Desc.
    When i start both Main Table and Lookup tables are empty (there is no data in Data Manager for either of the tables)
    Now in the Import Map, i selected source as the excel file and target as the Main table.
    I did mapping of Customer_Number as usual after that I created a compound field for Sales_Area_ID+ Sales_Area_Desc and did the mapping of this compound field. then did the mapping for Sales_Area_ID and Sales_Area_Desc.
    Now since there is no data in lookup table, i select the "Add" button in the "Value Mapping" section. when i execute this map, it works perfectly and data is loaded in both the Main table and lookup table but if a new value comes in the excel(a value which does not yet exist in lookup table), the map fails, when i open it , it says that i need to redo the Value Mapping, again i click on "Add" button and it starts working. So basically the Import Map fails whenever i get a value in excel which does not yet exist in Lookup table.
    Now my question is, is there a way to automate my import map, i thought clicking on "Add" button will take care of all the lookup values which are not already present.
    Can anyone please help me in this regard.
    Thanks
    Saif

    Hi Saif,
    You can try the following option.
    Right click on the lookup filed/compound filed in destination fields, and select the option 'SET MDIS Unmapped Value Handling' as 'ADD'.
    Cheers,
    Cherry.

  • Error in Import Manager if Constraints are assigned to lookup table

    Hi Folks,
    I am using the Repository SRM-MDM Catalog...and in the Console,
    For a Role, if I assign a Constraint for the lookup-table Product Groups, System shoots the error message in Import Manager when I try to Map the file.
    Scenario: Say I have Product Group from LOC1-LOC5, and for a Z-Catalog Manager Role(Manager1) if I assign the Constraint-LOC1.....and if I Import a file in the Import Manager, system shoots the error message "Unable to retrieve Unique values for Product Groups".

    Hi Mohan,

  • How to assign tasks in Approval Workflow to a set of users selected from a Lookup table

    Hi all,
    I am new to Project Server and I am using Project Server 2013 On premises deployement. Please help me on how to achieve the below scenario:
    I have a requirement where, the initial PDP will have 2 fields (Reviewers and Approvers), wherein the engineer himself will select who the reviewer and approver from the Lookup tables.
    Now I have to start task process with these selected people for approval.
    Say for example , engineer has selected Alice and Bob as 2 reviewers, then
    In the workflow I have :
                 Start Task process with
    Project Data: Reviewers (which is giving error as
    [System.ArgumentException: AssignedTo at Microsoft.Activities.Hosting.Runtime.Subroutine.SubroutineChild.Execute(CodeActivityContext context) at System.Activities.CodeActivity.InternalExecute(ActivityInstance instance, ActivityExecutor executor, BookmarkManager
    bookmarkManager) at System.Activities.Runtime.ActivityExecutor.ExecuteActivityWorkItem.ExecuteBody(ActivityExecutor executor, BookmarkManager bookmarkManager, Location resultLocation) ]
    Then I tried logging the value of Project Data: Reviewers, It logged the value as Alice, Bob (which looks pretty good),
    Then I tried assigning only 1 person as Reviewer, then also I get the same error.
    So can anybody please tell me where I went wrong. Is it not possible to fetch the data from the values selected as Project Data from the Lookup tables ? If not then what is the workaround I can use to achieve this ?
    Thanks,
    Shanky

    Hi Paul,
    Yes I am using SP designer for Workflows. And yes, You were right, there was a mismatch in the names of AD account and the Lookup table, now with 1 person selected from the lookup table it is assigning the task properly. However with multiple selection,
    it is failing.
    As Robert mentioned, the fetched value is a text as "Alice, Bob", which makes 2 usernames as a single text. So when I try to assign a task to this group, which returns value as "Alice, Bob", workflow fails to find such AD user, as it
    is an invalid value.
    So is there any way I can seperate this out to form 2 different username ? I checked for string extraction function in th Workflow, but nothing helped me for this scenario.
    Any input will be helpful.
    Thanks,
    Shanky

  • Syndicating Key mapping value from lookup table

    Hi Experts,
    I want to Syndicating Remote Key value from lookup table as per the remote system.
    In syndicator, if I map destination field to the remote key of the lookup table, I am getting blank value.

    Hi Mrinmoy,
    kindly check in the Data Manger whether have you maintained Remote keys for the lookup table. If yes then choose the specified remote system from Remote key override fields under Map properties in the syndicator.
    Incase you cant find the remote system in the "remote key override" field for which remote key is assigned in Data manager, then you need to check the Type (outbound) of the remote system in Console admin node. Because only those Remote systems type set as Outbound can been found in Remote key Override in the syndicator.
    After choosing the remote key you need to map the destination field with Remote key value as shown in the below image.

  • Proper use of a Lookup table and adaptations for NET

    Hello,
    I need to create a few lookup tables and I often see the following:
    create table Languages
    Id int identity not null primary key (Id),
    Code nvarchar (4) not null,
    Description nvarchar (120) not null,
    create table Posts
    Id int identity not null primary key (Id),
    LanguageId int not null,
    Title nvarchar (400) not null,
    insert into Languages (Id, Code, Description)
    values (1, "en", "English");
    This way I am localizing Posts with language id ...
    IMHO, this is not the best scheme for Languages table because in a Lookup table the PK should be meaningful, right?
    So instead I would use the following:
    create table Languages
    Code nvarchar (4) not null primary key (Code),
    Description nvarchar (120) not null,
    create table Posts
    Id int identity not null primary key (Id),
    LanguageCode nvarchar (4) not null,
    Title nvarchar (400) not null,
    insert into Languages (Code, Description)
    values ("en", "English");
    The NET applications usually use language code so this way I can get a Post in English without using a Join.
    And with this approach I am also maintaining the database data integrity ...
    This could be applied to Genders table with codes "M", "F", countries table, transaction types table (should I?), ...
    However I think it is common to use int as PK in lookup tables because it is easier to map to ENUMS.
    And know it is even possible to map to Flag Enums so have a Many to Many relationship in an ENUM.
    That helps in NET code but in fact has limitations. A Languages table could never be mapped to a FLags Enum ...
    ... An flags enum can't have more than 64 items (Int64) because the keys must be a power of two.
    A SOLUTION
    I decided to find an approach that enforces database data integrity and still makes possible to use enums so I tried:
    create table Languages
    Code nvarchar (4) not null primary key (Code),
    Key int not null,
    Description nvarchar (120) not null,
    create table Posts
    Id int identity not null primary key (Id),
    LanguageCode nvarchar (4) not null,
    Title nvarchar (400) not null,
    insert into Languages (Code, Key, Description)
    values ("en", 1, "English");
    With this approach I have a meaningfully Language code, I avoid joins and I can create an enum by parsing the Key:
    public enum LanguageEnum {
    [Code("en")
    English = 1
    I can even preserve the code in an attribute. Or I can switch the code and description ...
    What about Flag enums? Well, I will have not Flag enums but I can have List<LanguageEnum> ...
    And when using List<LanguageEnum> I do not have the limitation of 64 items ...
    To me all this makes sense but would I apply it to a Roles table, or a ProductsCategory table?
    In my opinion I would apply only to tables that will rarely change over time ... So:
        Languages, Countries, Genders, ... Any other example?
    About the following I am not sure (They are intrinsic to the application):
       PaymentsTypes, UserRoles
    And to these I wouldn't apply (They can be managed by a CMS):
       ProductsCategories, ProductsColors
    What do you think about my approach for Lookup tables?
    Thank You,
    Miguel

    >>IMHO, this is not the best scheme for Languages table because in a Lookup table the PK should be meaningful, right?<<
    Not necessarily. The choice to use, or not to use, a surrogate key in a table is a preference, not a rule. There are pros and cons to either method, but I tend to agree with you. When the values are set as programming terms, I usually use a textual value
    for the key. But this is nothing to get hung up over.
    Bear in mind however, that this:
        create table Languages
          Id int identity not
    null primary key
    (Id),
          Code nvarchar (4)
    not null, Description nvarchar
    (120) not
    null,
    is not equivalent to
        create table Languages
          Code nvarchar (4)
    not null primary
    key (Code),
          Description nvarchar (120)
    not null,
    The first table needs a UNIQUE constraint on Code to make these solutions semantically the same. The first table could have the value 'Klingon' in it 20 times while the second only once.
    >>However I think it is common to use int as PK in lookup tables because it is easier to map to ENUMS.<<
    This was going to be my next point. For that case, I would only change the first table to not have an identity assigned key value, as it would be easier to manage at the same time and manner as the enum.
    >>. A Languages table could never be mapped to a FLags Enum ...<<
    You could, but I would highly suggest to avoid any values encoded in a bitwise pattern in SQL as much as possible. Rule #1 (First Normal Form) is partially to have 1 value per column. It is how the optimizer thinks, and how it works best.
    My rule of thumb for lookup (or I prefer the term  "domain" tables, as really all tables are there to look up values :)), is all data should be self explanatory in the database, through data if at all possible. So if you have a color column,
    and it contains the color "Vermillion", and all you will ever need is the name, and you feel like it is good enough to manage in the UI, then great. But bear in mind, the beauty of a table that is there for domain purposes, is that you can then store
    the R, G, and B attributes of the vermillion color (254, 73, 2 respectively, based on
    http://www.colorcombos.com/colors/FE4902) and you can then use that in coding. Alternate names for the color could be introduce, etc. And if UserRoles are 1, 2, 3, and 42 (I have seen worse), then
    definitely add columns. I think you are basically on the right track.

  • Tab key and lookup table

    Hi,
    How to use the 'Tab' key to open a lookup table, E.g. BP Code, Name?
    Alternatively, how to use the 'Tab' key to call a formatted search? I hope to follow the standard in SBO and do away the Shift-F2.
    I am using VB and 2004B. Your input will be appreciated.

    I think you can mimic every user action with UIAPI.
    Therefore, e.g. in Sales Order Form you activate the BPCode item (.Click) and hit Tab (.SendKeys(vbTab)).
    You could also try clicking the the iconitem ("67") next to BPCode.
    If you want to assign a Choose From List (CFL) to an item of your choice using UIAPI then you should wait for 2005.
    Shift-F2 is standard in SBO UI for launching FSs, why would you like to disable it?
    If you want to enable tabbing to kick-off an existing  FS, then you should capture the tabbing event (et_KEY_DOWN) in your item and then use SendKeys for sending Shift-F2 to keyboard.

  • How to map lookup table

    Hi friends,
    I did this simple report in obiee 10g(i.e)
    *"NATIONALITY COUNT IN DEPARTMENT WISE"*
    For that i used the following tables:
    per_all_assignments_f----->fact table
    hr_all_organization_units----->dim table(containing departments)
    per_all_people_f---------------->dim table(containing nationality)
    I made all the mappings in the physical diagram, as also viewed my report in BI answers
    It shows the following results like
    NATIONALITY---------------------------------------------------------------------COUNT(NATIONALITY)
    AUS------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------24
    AFR------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------25
    PHQ_VB-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------40
    SH_VT----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------4
    The problem is for me it is showing the above results, but the nationality column is of various codes of the country.
    Since i doesnt want the code of the nationalitian to display in the results..i need the meaning of each and every nationality..
    like,
    AUS------------------------Australian
    AFR-------------------------African
    PHQ_VB----------------------Germanian(assigned)
    Since i know that the meaning for the nationalitian is available in "FND_LOOKUP_VALUES"...okay..
    I can import "FND_LOOKUP_VALUES" table to the physical layer...but how i can able to give the mapping to the fact table in my physical diagram...
    In my report the fact table is "per_all_assignments_f"
    As my fact table doesnt contains any matching column corresponding to the dimension table "FND_LOOKUP_VALUES".....
    Then how i can give mappings to the fact column???? for viewing the full meaning of the nationalitian in my report.....
    Help me friends...
    All izz Well
    GTA...

    Hi Kranthi,
    Thanks for your reply....
    For the meaning to appear for each and every nationalitian i imported the HR_LOOKUPS table and i have given join to the per_all_people_f which is an dimension table.....
    This is the following query that i executed in toad for getting meaning for each and every nationality...
    select distinct h15.meaning, h15.lookup_code from hr_lookups h15, per_all_people_f papf, per_all_assignments_f paaf
    where h15.lookup_type(+) = 'NATIONALITY'
    AND h15.lookup_code(+) = papf.nationality and h15.meaning is not null and papf.person_id = paaf.person_id The samething i implemented in obiee, that is in physical diagram i have given the join between hr_lookups and per_all_people_f..
    like the lookup_code column in hr_lookups table and nationality column in the per_all_people_f table
    i obtained the results in BI answers, but i didnt get accurate result........
    Since for getting the accurate result i need to give one more join between the hr_lookups table and per_all_people_f table........
    This is the join i need to give to obtain accurate result that i have already mentioned in the above query...
    > h15.lookup_type(+) = 'NATIONALITY'
    since OBIEE is not allowing me to given a second join from the lookup table to the people table...then how i can able to obtain accurate result in BI answers......
    Is there anyother way to give second join between the same two tables in my case between hr_lookups and per_all_people_f..
    Please Help me with this......
    Thanks for your support.....

  • User still sees old Lookup Table values in Enterprise field

    Got stumped today. We updated 2 months ago our Enterprise field that provides a picklist of possible values for milestone level. (Note: Milestone Level is a designation our Customers use to assign the level of configuration control).  It was decided
    to eliminate the levels "IO", which is shorthand for "Information Only", and level "4".  These levels were removed from the appropriate lookup table in the Project Server list of enterprise enterprise fields/lookup tables.
    One of our Users is still seeing IO and 4 as choices in the pick list.  When I open her schedule, I don't see those values.  It doesn't matter what schedule she opens, she still is able to see levels IO and 4.
    I had her cycle Project Pro, and she is still seeing the IO and 4 levels, even on brand new schedules.  Other people are not having this problem.
    We are on Project Server v2010 SP2.

    Hi,
    with Project Server 2010, there are some issues with not updated LookUp Tables in client. I suggest to apply most recent CUs on server and clients, since these issues has been solved in the past.
    However, to solve your issue right now, ensure that this user has saved, published, and checked in all projects. Check queue, if all jobs went through successfully. Get cache path from File - Options - Save. Close Project Client. Navigate to cache path in
    Windows explorer. Delete folders/files listed.
    Please note: This should not be necessary with actual updates. And it is recommended to avoid doing so:
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/brismith/archive/2007/11/02/friends-don-t-let-friends-delete-their-cache-or-cancel-queue-jobs.aspx.
    But in this case, I think yo need to :).
    If everything is saved, published, checked in and no errors in queue, you just should be fine - no worries.

  • How to Check a Value from a Lookup table??

    Hi Experts,
    I have 2 lookup tables.
    If a Value in Lk1 is selected, i need to check if that selected value is present in Lk2 table.
    Ex:
    MF table (Look up 1)
    0001
    0002
    0003
    0004
    Ecc Table (Look up 2).
    0001
    0003
    0004
    0005
    Note: User will not have access to Look up table 2.
    So, When user selects any value in MF table (Look up 1) then the validation should check if that value is present in Look uptable 2 (Ecc table).
    If present then true Else False.
    Did someboday face a similar situation!!!
    Can anyone help??
    Kind Reagrds
    Eva

    Hi Eva,
    I see your requirement this way...
    1) I will add two fields to your current Lookup table and link to one field in the main table, say the field name is LK
    2) Create a Lookup Flat Multi Valued field in the main table which will be linked to a lookup table name systems which has different remote system names used in the landscape.By this field i will be identifying whether the record is for remote system MF or Remote System ECC or both
    Say the your current Lookup table structure is
    Code
    Name
    What i do is add two fields to the current structure
    Code
    Name
    ECC
    MF
    And the sample data will be like this
    Code    Name           ECC       MF
    0001      xx              Yes      Yes
    0002      xx              No        Yes
    0003      xx              Yes      Yes
    0004      xx              Yes      Yes
    0005      xx              Yes       No
    By this way i can easily validate the record which is selected in the main table exists in ECC and MF Systems based on the systems field in the main table.
    Validaiton Code for checking the record exists in ECC
    If( HAS_ANY_VALUES(systems,ECC)=TRUE,LK1.ECC=Yes)
    Validaiton Code for checking the record exists in MF
    If( HAS_ANY_VALUES(systems,MF)=TRUE,LK1.MF=Yes)

  • Using bucket search and lookup tables

    I have to create an array of dates, and then extend this by creating a lookup table for the months of the dates. So this lookup table will have 12 elements. Finally it should print to the screen the total amount of times a month appears in the object array. I have created my array and i am only working on getting the bucket search working at the moment. In the code you will see the problem i am having on lines 45 and 46. The assigning is of different types so it wont allow it. I was thinking about using a toString method to get this working but then would the lookup tables be able to look up the months still? Also where abouts in the code would i put the toString method? Can i actually do it when declaring the arrays e.g. a[0]=new Date.toSting( (2, "January", 2007) );
    Anyway, heres what i have:
    import javax.swing.*;
    public class Date
    public int Day;
    public int Year;
    public String Month;
    public Date(int day, String month, int year){
    Day = day;
    Year = year;
    Month = month;
    public static void main(String[] args)
    final int ARRAY_SIZE = 10;
    final int RANGE = 30;
    Date[] a = new Date[ARRAY_SIZE];
    a[0]=new Date (2, "January", 2007);
    a[1]=new Date (21, "Feburary", 2007);
    a[2]=new Date (31, "December", 2007);
    a[3]=new Date (29, "Demember", 2007);
    a[4]=new Date (8, "April", 2007);
    a[5]=new Date (15, "January", 2007);
    a[6]=new Date (12, "Feburary", 2007);
    a[7]=new Date (30, "August", 2007);
    a[8]=new Date (4, "June", 2007);
    a[9]=new Date (19, "June", 2007);
    boolean result;
    String searchKey;
    boolean[] bucket = new boolean[RANGE];
    for (int i = 0; i < RANGE; i++)
    bucket[i] = false;
    for (int j = 0; j < ARRAY_SIZE; j++)
    String data;
    data = a[j]; //???????????????
    bucket[data] = true;
    searchKey = JOptionPane.showInputDialog("Give me a date");;
    result = bucketSearch(bucket, searchKey);
    if (result == true)
    JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null,"KEY " + searchKey + " FOUND");
    else
    JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null,"KEY " + searchKey + " NOT FOUND");
    System.exit(0);
    public static boolean bucketSearch (boolean[] bucket, int key)
    return bucket[key];
    }ps.. i know i need to sort out my searchkey but i will do this after i sort out this problem.
    Cheers

    The bucket search is actually another question, but i also went to search the net for it and couldnt find anything on bucket search. This is what they are calling a bucket search:
    Write a fragment of Java code that does a lookup table search. It asks the user of the program to input a
    key to search for and then searches for it in a previously pre-computed lookup table, called bucket that
    stores true to mean the data was in the original array and false to mean it was not. It prints a message
    indicating whether the data was in the original array or not.
    key = Integer.parseInt(JOptionPane.showInputDialog
    ("Give me a number to search for"));
    if (bucket[key] == true)
    System.out.print("Data found");
    else
    System.out.print("Data is not present");

  • Qulified lookup table field can be viewed at Maintable.

    We have 2 non qualifiers in Qualified lookup table and the field type are lookup flat, If i change the data in this fields, i can able to see the change tracking history at main table level.
    Thanks

    Hi Krish,
    Thats how change tracker in MDM works...

  • Generic lookup table for multiple tables

    I'm sure this issue has come up and been solved before. If this is not the right place for this post, please let me know the correct forum.
    Here is an issue I have. I have multiple tables of different inventory items. Each inventory item can have multiple notes/actions associated or a note or action can be assigned to multiple devices. So I have a many-to-many relationship and need a lookup table. I would like to create just one lookup table not a lookup table for each combination.
    My first thought was to create a main table to hold all primary keys and table names and connecting the lookup table to that.
    1. Create main GUID table to hold all primary keys and table names
    2. All primary keys will be created by sys.guid to ensure all keys are unique.
    3. The Lookup table primary key will be a composite key
    4. If a Note is deleted – it deletes from the main GUID table and the delete cascades down to all other tables.
    CREATE TABLE "ND_NOTE"
    (     "GUID" NUMBER,
         "NOTE_DESCRIPTION" VARCHAR2(4000),
         CONSTRAINT "ND_NOTE_PK" PRIMARY KEY ("GUID") ENABLE
    ALTER TABLE "ND_NOTE" ADD CONSTRAINT "ND_NOTE_FK" FOREIGN KEY ("GUID")
         REFERENCES "ND_GUID" ("GUID") ENABLE
    CREATE TABLE "ND_VIRTUAL_COMP"
    (     "GUID" NUMBER,
         "VIRTUAL_COMP_NAME" VARCHAR2(4000),
         CONSTRAINT "ND_VIRTUAL_COMP_PK" PRIMARY KEY ("GUID") ENABLE
    ALTER TABLE "ND_VIRTUAL_COMP" ADD CONSTRAINT "ND_VIRTUAL_COMP_FK" FOREIGN KEY ("GUID")
         REFERENCES "ND_GUID" ("GUID") ON DELETE CASCADE ENABLE
    CREATE TABLE "ND_GUID"
    (     "GUID" NUMBER,
         "TABLE_NAME" VARCHAR2(4000),
         "STATUS" NUMBER,
         CONSTRAINT "ND_GUID_PK" PRIMARY KEY ("GUID") ENABLE
    CREATE TABLE "ND_NOTE_LK"
    (     "GUID" NUMBER,
         "ANY_OTHER_GUID" NUMBER,
         CONSTRAINT "ND_NOTE_LK_CON" PRIMARY KEY ("GUID", "ANY_OTHER_GUID") ENABLE
    ALTER TABLE "ND_NOTE_LK" ADD CONSTRAINT "ND_NOTE_LK_FK" FOREIGN KEY ("GUID")
         REFERENCES "ND_GUID" ("GUID") ON DELETE CASCADE ENABLE
    ALTER TABLE "ND_NOTE_LK" ADD CONSTRAINT "ND_NOTE_LK_FK2" FOREIGN KEY ("ANY_OTHER_GUID")
         REFERENCES "ND_GUID" ("GUID") ON DELETE CASCADE ENABLE
    Is there a better way to do this? I feel like I'm talking myself into circles.
