Assistance requested in configuring VLANs

I have VLAN A with Server A1, Server A2, etc. on it.
I have VLAN B with Server B1, Server B2, etc. on it.
I need Server A1 (on VLAN A) to see Server B1 (on VLAN B) only ? no other devices.
While there may be multiple ways to accomplish this, I?m hoping that you can provide me with the best way/s (i.e.; how to configure this on the switch or any other ways). Please note that I am hoping to avoid installing a second NIC in Server A1.
Thanks in advance.

Hi
Are the L3 vlan interfaces on the switch or on a router. Assuming they are on a switch
access-list 101 permit ip host "server A1 ip address" host "server B1 ip address"
access-list 101 deny ip host "server A1 ip address" any
access-list permit ip any any
interface vlan A
ip access-group 101 in
Couple of things to note
1) The above access-list allows server A1 to only talk to server B1 and absolutely nothing else.
2) There is a permit ip any any at the end of the access-list to allow other server traffic.

However, I was looking at my Environment variables and noticed the following:
Oracle in OraDb10g_home1 points to a directory that doesn't exists since the uninstall.  I deleted this variable.
I also receive the following warning during prerequiste check (but I appeared to have a solution according ot the documentation)

Problem: The install has detected that the primary IP address of the system is DHCP-assigned.
Recommendation: Oracle supports installations on systems with DHCP-assigned IP addresses; However, before you can do this, you must configure the Microsoft LoopBack Adapter to be the primary network adapter on the system. See the Installation Guide for more details on installing the software on systems configured with DHCP.
After delete the environment variable I restarted the Install and it installed fine.

  • Configuring vlan in a very old sparc machine

    Hi, forum!

The machine appears to already be configured but I assume that it is configured incorrectly for your environment. If you're moving to a totally different environment (where everything is likely to be wrong), probably the easiest approach is to run sys-unconfig and answer the questions which pop up after rebooting the system. The sys-unconfig command causes Solaris to forget its configuration and prompt you for configuration information on the next reboot. It should know about the le0 interface so you don't have to worry about it. You will be asked to enter things like the machine name, IP addresss, subnet information, name service information, default router, time zone, root password, etc. so you should have that information at hand.
The sys-unconfig command does tweak a lot of files. If you can, it would be a good idea to back up the system before running this just in case something goes amiss. I've not had problems with it but just in case...

  • Srw2048 configure VLAN's in Linux

I have a Linksys srw2048, and through ssh/telnet/terminal I don't have any option to configure VLAN's, and through the browser (Firefox on Linux) I cannot access anything, since it seems that there is a problem.
How can I solve this problem?
    Thank's

If you want add VLAN's on SRW2048, you can configure the switch using the web-based Utility WebView. Maybe you have problem because combination Firefox and firmware 1.2.1 has problem with WebView. Possible solution are 1) upgrade firmware throw putty to 1.2.2 and after that can use Firefox or 2) use wine to ability to run Internet Explorer. Hope that this information help you.

  • Connection Configuration Settings Assistance Request

    Contribute CS5/Version 6.0
    IIS 7.5 (Server 2008 R2)
    Active Directory (Server 2003 R2)
    Windows 2008
    Hello,
I hope someone can help me.  Does anyone use Contribute with external authenication with Active Directory?  We just recently migrated out Website from an old server (MS Server 2003 R2/IIS 6) to a newer server (MS Server 2008 R2/IIS 7.5) and we can not seem to get Contribute to work.  We have been able to successfully make a connection but it will not allow us to edit let alone publish.  We had it working in IIS 6 but there seems to be a problem with IIS 7.5 authenication and authorization with Contribute.  All the settings and configurations are identical to our old server including authentcation and NTFS directory (folder/file) permissions.  As the Webmaster, I successfully made a connection and can use Dreamweaver CS5 seemlessly except I can no longer delete files from our production server with it but I can live with that.  If anyone out there is set-up like us then I would greatly appreciate your help by sharing your configuration settings in IIS and Contribute.  Thank you.

Unfortunatley this is a, 'it depends' question. If your business requirements are such that you need to easily change a configuration via standard tools, e.g. you're hosting an Azure web site, then config file is a great choice. If you have an architecture
where the settings differ depending upon a user login then a database might be a good solution. If your architecture uses security zones then the less you put in a less secure zone the better. Sorry, but, "it depends" is the best I can offer.

  • Solution Manager 3.2 SP 8- Change Request Management Configuration Problem

    Hi friends,
We are in process of implementing SOLMAN 3.2 SP8 in our landscape.I am facing  problem in configuring change request management.
When the developer is working on an urgent correction document we are facing a problem. The steps we are following are here under provided.
    Step 1 :
Selected Action "In development" - > it created the transport request in the dev system.
    Step 2:
Action "Log into System" -> made correction attached to the transport request manually and released the task.
    Step 3:
Action "Release transport requests" -> The transport request in the development was released.
    Step 4:
Went for action "Pass to correction" -> I am facing exceptions which conveys
    Status was reset by system
A condition is not satisfied because of an exceptional situation
Not all transport requests yet released
And we would be thankful if you provide the authorization required for the different roles in the change request management.I have followed the help file of SOLMAN 3.2 and create the users as under
    User - Role
    SOCM_RQSTR - ZSAP_SOCM_REQUESTER
    (Derrived from SAP_SOCM_REQUESTER)
    SOCM_DVLPR - ZSAP_SOCM_DEVELOPER

    Hi all,
We are trying to implement the Change Request Management piece in Solution Manager 3.2.
We are facing the following issues which I think relate to the same reason:
1)We have created a Maintenance Project in SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN and assigned it a logical component, which consists of our two system landscape (namely DEVàQAS). We have also created the IMG project in the DEV system and have distributed that IMG project to both the Solution manager system and the DEV system. Now we have to make the maintenance cycle and task list for that maintenance project, but as we select the project and click on “create project cycle” it shows the message "The project is not released. Hence cycle can not be created". It is showing the status of project as locked .How can we open or unlock the project to remove the error?
    2) Also after selecting the SMI project when we click on the button “CTS status switches” or “project specific Transport route” it responds with the error "Project landscape not configured; set the project status to "open" first ".
3)When we click on “synchronize single project” it prompts for the login of connected system (Development System) and after login, it gives an error "Warning, problems during synchronization of the system Landscape".
For Error resolution, we have checked the system landscape and it does not give us any errors. We have done that, both from the solution manager by going to the transaction SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN -->  >system landscape tab>selecting our logical component and doing a check by clicking the "Check system Landscape" button. It returns with "no Errors". We also did a check on the TMS configuration by logging directly on to the TMS domain controller system and checking the Transport routes. We have checked the RFC connections without any errors.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

  • "iPod Setup Assistant " request always pops up upon mounting mono 20gb ipod

Just installed 30gb ipod & itunes update onto computer running Windows XP - no problems. I also have a 20gb mono on the same computer (updated itunes and ipod updater as well). Restarted computer. I signed on as the only one using the PC, launch itunes, mount the 20gb ipod. The system does nothing for about 20 secs. then the ipod is shown (as it always does). No problem adding songs to libary or transfering to ipod w/20 gb (except the inital delay). The problem is, behind the itune window a window pops up "iPod set up assistant" with the name of the ipod I just mounted. Window ask me if I want to auto sync my files (I click off the check mark - because I do not keep music on computer otherwise this would wipe my ipod clean). I cancel out, but each time I mount the ipod I get the same pop up "set up request". Any ideas what is going on and how to stop this (so that I some day do not make the mistake of hitting OK in place of cancel)?
I have read the posting below but it falls short of answering my question.
    Thank you in advance.
"How do I set up another iPod in iTunes when I already have an existing iPod/iTunes combo on my computer?"
    Answer:
First things first, lets get your iPod up and running with the correct firmware:
Begin by throwing away the disc that came with your iPod. The software on it is more than likely out of date anyway!
Download the latest iPod firmware from HERE and install it on your computer (by double-clicking the installer icon).
Go to Start > All Programs > iPod > iPod Updater > etc and run the updater application.
When the pop-up box appears, connect your iPod and select the RESTORE option.
When instructed, disconnect the iPod from the PC and connect it to the AC adapter to complete the process.
OK, now you need to decide 'how' you want to manage your music. You have a couple of options:
Using the existing iTunes installation on your PC
If you want to use the same library and iTunes installation, then you can just re-connect the iPod to the computer via the USB or Firewire. iTunes will launch and ask you to register the iPod. To manage your music, you now have two further options. You could either:
Use 'Auto-Synch' to transfer the entire music library and playlist selections to your iPod.
    OR
Use the 'Manual Synch' option to manually drag and drop the songs and playlists that you want on to your iPod.
    OR
Set up a 'Master' playlist which contains all the songs you like, and then set the iPod to automatically synch to that.
Using a new iTunes installation (Requires windows XP)
If you want to keep your new iPod music completely seperate from the original iTunes library, then you can install another instance of iTunes. To do this, you must:
Create your own XP user profile.
iTunes should be accessible using this log-in. If not, then download and install the latest version of iTunes. This can be obtained HERE. (Note: When swapping between User IDs, you should not use the 'Switch User' option. iTunes really doesn't like that!)
Once the iTunes install has completed, you can begin adding your own music. Your music files will be automatically added the the newly created iTunes folder which can be found at C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music.
If you want to keep all the music on the hard-drive in the same place (and minimise the possibility of having multiple versions of the same song everywhere), then you can change the settings in iTunes so that all music is derived from the same location. To do this, go to Edit > Preferences and select the 'Advanced' tab. You can then change the iTunes Music folder location to something like C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Shared Documents\Shared Music.

To all of those who viewed question but did not have an answer the following is how I resolved my issue. FYI. In the end, although the "Setup..." window came up, it was in fact stating that I did not have the music file within my iTunes. How I resolved the issue was to first click OFF the check mark that advised me that iTunes would automatically update my songs. I did not change the name of my iPod (since it was the correct name). Clicked next and then Finish. This resulted in the window going away and the "Music Store" file appearing within iTunes. The "Setup..." box does not come back up.

  • Service Request Status Configurations

    Hi Experts,
I am configuring Service Requests in CRM 7.0. We have created Status Profiles and have assigned it to the Transaction Type. There is a need to have statues and sub-status (reason for status). For example: When we select In-Process as the status the sub-status should display the reason for the request being in In-process status like: Waiting customer response, analysis in process etcu2026
Is this functionality available out of the box. If so, how can we achieve it? I tried configuring this using multi-level categorization but could not find a way to link a category and statuses configured.
Any pointers on resolving this issue will be of great help.
    Regards
    Namita

    Hi Namita,
    Thats why i mentioned CRM2007
If on CRM7.0, we dont have reason maintenance but have all new Multiple Categorization concept introduced.
As PePe says, Service Request and Service Ticket are all different transactions as they have different  Buss. Objects. Service Request is new thing from CRM7.0 .Earlier we had only service tickets where you can maintain the reasoning.
Depending your Project Realization mapping as decided by Solution Architech, either service req. or service tickets should be used. Now since you are using Service requests, we have to fullfill your needs there only.
If you want, you can still get the Reason dropdown in WEB UI thought development. Add BTSUBJECT in the view and do the coding to read your subject profile , subject codes and show the texts. This will be pure development but i dont see much effort as you are still doing it in BT model. I would recommand to go with categorizations only as its SAP std. suggested for Service Requests scenario. Maintaining Categorization and schema is failrly simple however i feel SAP has un-necessarily complecated it. Follow the help.sap.com categorization under CRm service. They have nice explanations. We generally maintain categorization from WEB UI only and not through SPRO.
Let me know if you stuck up on coding part as i have already done it, i may help you.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Suchita

  • Configuration assistant,  business scenario configurator

    Hi All,
We have two tools used in ID, namely,
    1. configuration assistant,
    2. business scenario configurator
Can anyone tell the difference between them ..
    Regards,
    Mona

    Mona,
If you maintain your Integration Scenario in the repository with the Actions , Connections , etc... then Configuration Wizard will take you through a wizard to create the ID objects .... automatically
That case you do not need to create the objects manually...
However I do not use it and prefer to create the objects manually .. and also in XI3.0 there is a bug in the wizard for the sender agreement creation and you have to delete and create the sender agreement manually....
    Cheers,

2- No track for project XXXXXX with log. system ASD/315.

  • Configure VLANs across multiple switches

    Hi.
I'm trying to configure a segregated network using a VLAN. There are 5 switches on the site (all SG200). A router with 2 interfaces - one for the normal network and for the segregated network - is connected and located at switch 1. The network which needs to be segregated and the PCs on it are connected to a port on switch 5. Switch 1 is connected to switch 2, 2 to 3, 3 to 4 and 4 to 5.
I have created a VLAN but can't get the network to talk to the first switch over the link. I have created a VLAN ID 10 on each switch. Do the switches have to be linked together logically in some way to get this to work.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Try to create the VLAN 5 in all switches.I have assumed that Management VLAN for all switches are VLAN 1.Kindly configure Trunk between switch 1 to S2 ,S2 to S3,S3 to S4,S4 to S5, S5 to S1.Allow the VLAN's 1U,10T.
