ASync RFC -- Sync RFC -- SOAP scenario: do I need BPM?

Hi,
I have this scenario. ASync RFC --> PI --> Sync RFC --> PI  --> SOAP scenario.
Here are the details.
1. users run async RFC and it will pass data to PI.
2. PI will call Sync RFC with received data and get the data.
3. PI now calls web service with received data from #2.
Do I need BPM to implement this scenario.
Thank you.
-Won

I'm still wondering if it's possible to perform my scenario without using RFC lookup or BPM.
Yes, it is possible.
I want to see if PI supports sequence of calling RFC, JDBC, web service, etc and pass data to
the next call in sequence... without BPM...
Yes, PI supports that. Please make a search on SDN, there are numerous blogs / posts which talks about A/S bridge without BPM.

  • Multiple clients for a RFC sender to SOAP scenario

    All,
We have a RFC to SOAP scenario in our Development server and is working.
The problem we are having is - we only have one XI server available. But there are different clients in Dev that want to use this scenario now. Though we create the new BS for each of these clients, the issue i see is in the RFC sender communication channel. it needs to have the program id.
Right now we are creating a new program id for each of the clients(which translates to different RFC destination names on the ABAP side)... but that is causing a problem on the ABAP side - since the calling function is the same and they need some logic to change the RFC destination based on the client..
Are we missing something or is there a simpler way to this?
    Thanks.

we created the exact same way you told... just add another business system. complete the receiver determination, interface determination and sender agreement.
It works every other time. When we checked the communcation channel monitoring - it will go to the client 210 once, and it would work. when we call the next time - it will error with a short dump in ABAP - but the error will appear on the communication channel for 250 (though we are calling from 210).
Error in processing caused by: com.sap.aii.af.rfc.afcommunication.RfcAFWException: alternativeServiceIdentifier: party/service from channel configuration are not equal to party/service from lookup of alternativeServiceIdentifier (CPA party/service/channel ''/'UD1CLNT250'/'RFC_UD1CLNT250', lookup of alternativeServiceIdentifier for party '', schema 'TechnicalSystem' with 'UD1#210' returned party/service of ''/'UD1CLNT210')
    Any thoughts?

  • JMS Adapter - RFC (Sync ) RFC Repsonse- JMS Adapter

    Hello,
We have 40K + messages coming in from a 3rd party system through JMS Adapter. We need to process the messages in R/3 using RFC (sync) adapter and send the response back to the 3rd party system   “with the messageID (CorrelationID)” using a JMS adapter.
Is there any procedure to do the same without BPM?
    Thanks,
    Peter

    Peter,
Another easy way to decouple your process could be to send RFC data to R/3 asynchrounously (which means treat your function module as an asynch message interface, which is possible), and at the end of the inbound function module code invoke a "response function module" pointing at XI as RFC destination. This second flow will, of course, map to and write to JMS.
That should be little change to your code, right?
I've done the same story with ABAP proxies and it work perfectly.
    Let me know.
    Cheers,

  • IDOC to Webservice to Email - Async to Sync Scenario

    Dear Experts,
I have a scenario: IDOC to Webservice (Async to Sync)
The response from the webservice needs to be sent via email. So I have a Email channel added to the Business service (ECC).
I tried this with BPM, but it does not work complaining about multiple receivers in a sync receiver interface.
Anyone has done similar to the above?
    1. Using BPM?
    2. Without BPM?
    Thank you.

Thank you for the reply. This is what I have:
    Repository:
    1. Async ABS Interface for webservice request message
    2. Sync ABS interface with webservice request message and response message
    3. Async ABS interface for the reposnse message
    5. Async IB interface for hte email message
    4. Message mapping between IDOC and webservice request message
    5. Message mapping between webservice response message and email message
    6. 2 Interface mappings with the above mapping objects
    7. Integration Process BPM with Receive step (Async w/s req), Sync send step (w/s req and respp) and Async send step (w/s response)
    Directory:
    1. Receiver agreement with BPM as sender and Webservice as receiver with SOAP receiver channel
    2. Receiver agreement with BPM as sender and ECC as receiver with email receiver adapter
    3. Interface determination for request mapping
    4. Interface detrmination for response mapping
    5. Receiver determination with ECC as sender and BPM as receiver
    6. Receiver determaination with BPM as sender and Webservice as receiver
    7. Receiver determination with Webservice as sender and ECC as receiver
is the above sufficient and right?
    Thank you.

  • Soap to Soap scenario(need suggestions)

    Hi All,
I have a scenario to be developed. Its a soap to soap scenario. We need to send  a request with target site name and list name in the URL.
As there are 4 different sites each has different list with different columns. We need to retrieve these data in a single structure and send it back to the source system( as response). Now I am stuck in the response structure creation. Anybody has any idea? Please suggest.

    Hello,
I would suggest you to check below blog and using this create ur target URL (or action) dynamically to retrieve data from  different sites.
Dynamically providing URL and action values  to receiver SOAP communication channel
Now for the response, i would suggest you to use JM. So, in java code parse (whatever) response which is coming from WS, send the same to ur sender system - By this way u don't have to worry abt creating response structures in PI for each site.
Hope i understood ur question correctly and if not then do correct me.
    Thanks

  • SOAP to SOAP scenario

    Hi Experts,
Could you please tell me, how to do SOAP to SOAP scenario?
Mainly need info for Receiver SOAP Adapter...
    Any document for the same?
    Regards
    Sara

    Hi,
    Receiver SOAP Adapter
The receiver SOAP adapter connects XI with an external Web service. To call the Web
service, you need to define a message interface that represents the structure of the
request and response of the Web service. You can create this message interface easily
with the help of a WSDL file that represents the Web service. If this is not possible, you must create the message interface based on data types.
    - Uploading the WSDL
Since the WSDL describes the message interface, you upload the WSDL into the
Integration Repository. Go to your Software Component Version and open the required
    Namespace. Create an External Definition.
In the external definition object, choose Category wsdl and click Import external
definitions. After importing the WSDL file, you can view the included messages on the Messages tab page:
The namespaces of the messages are part of the WSDL description and can
differ from the namespace of the external definition object.
Now you can create a message interface corresponding to the message types from the external definition. You need the message interface for routing the message to the Web service.
In the message interface object, select the message types of the external definition
object by using the input help.
After assigning the output and input message, save and activate your work. Now you can use the message interface for routing and mapping.
Creating a Message Interface Without WSDL
For some scenarios it is not possible to provide a WSDL file. In this case you need to create a message interface according to the message structure of the server. The best way to achieve this is by using an example SOAP message for the request and the response message.
Since the SOAP adapter creates the SOAP envelope you have to extract the SOAP
body. Usually, Web services ignore declarative attributes (xsi:type), therefore you can delete them. The namespace declaration of the root tag must be applied. The XI
message payload should be the following message.
Create a data type, message type, and message interface according to this structure. In the message type, apply the correct name and namespace of the message.
    Creating a SOAP Receiver Channel
To call the Web service, you create a communication channel with type SOAP and
direction receiver in the Integration Directory. The obligatory parameters in the
configuration are Target URL and SOAP action. You get the values you have to enter
    here from the WSDL file.
You find the target URL at the tag soap:address and the SOAP action at the tag
    soap:operation.
If more than one message type is described in the WSDL, several SOAP actions
might also be defined. Check for the correct operation name. If no SOAP action is
defined in the WSDL, you can leave the parameter in the receiver channel empty.
For the receiver SOAP adapter you need at least the following parameters.
If the Web service is outside your system landscape and you need to address a proxy server, select the Configure Proxy checkbox and fill in the corresponding fields.
    Hope this will help you.

       Request:
CoCode -Optional, if empty string is passed all companies will be fetched by the function
Role - Optional, if empty string is passed all the roles will be fetched by the function
        Response:
A_B- returns set of records(Multiple) based on the parameters passed
    BAPI is - Y_Vct
How to get response from table of multiple values .
like 10 records as response for 1 request.

    Hi Jha,
Which version of PI you are using? If you are uisng 7.1 then you can return the multiple values.

  • SOAP to RFC sync scenario

    Hello members:
we have a business scenario: SOAP to RFC sync
an external system (ABC) sends documentrequest thru XI SOAP adapter and makes an RFC call to a BAPI and gets back the resposne to the ABC system.we are handling 4 mappings. 1. request msg to a common msg 2. common msg to BAPI request3.bapi response to common msg 4. common msg to response msg(which is same as the req msg)
i have the request msg and common msg as external definitions. I did the following steps and wanted to
    know if i am right.
    1. there are no data type & msg type needed for this
    2.  4 msg interfaces
    i)  document o/b sysnc
    ii) document i/b sync
    iii)common o/b sync
    iiii) common i/b sync
    3) 4 mappings
    i) document to common
    ii) common to bapi req
    iii) bapi resp to common
    iiii) common to req/response
    4) 3 intf mappings
    source intf**********               target intf
    i)document o/b               common o/b uses mapping #1
    ii)request :common i/b         bapi i/b  uses mapping #2
       resposne:bapi i/b           common i/b uses mapping #3
    iii) common i/b             document i/b uses mapping # 4
pls provide your inputs if my approach is rite? do i need to have 4 msg intefaces?has any made mappings where 4 mappings are involved ( without BPM)
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
I think you will have only 2 interfaces.
    1. Sync Outbound interface (SOAP Structure)
Two message types Req and Res
    2. Sync Inbound interface (RFC Structure)
Two message types Req and Res
    Then two message mapping
    1. SOAP Request  to RFC Request
    2. RFC Response to SOAP Response
    and finally one Interface mapping.
    Thanks,

  • SOAP to RFC - Sync Scenario. How to find where the response is going to?

    Hello All
I have a SOAP to RFC sync scenario.
In SXMB_MONI,  i see that both the initial message and the response message are successfully processed.
But, the SOAP sender is not receiving the response message.
How can i trouble shoot this scenario? How can i findout what is going wrong?
Most importantly, How can i find out the web address of the SOAP sender? I do not see it anywhere.
    Thanks

    Hi Chandra,
    Please check this blog.

You can by pass your message through a TCPIP gateway , this will help you to see the message contnet and the SOAP header information.
TCPIPGW application is availabel in one of the SAP notes for Monitoring SOAP adapter. and 2 SAP SDN PI  blogs are also there on how to use this application...

  • Need help with scenario BPM Http-RFC Sync/async bridge

    hi all!
i've got the following scenario: HTTP-BPM(XI)-RFC synchronous both of them. for that, i'm using S/A bridge in the BPM, but i'm getting the error 'Timeout condition of pipeline reached'. i think the problem is that the process gets lost in the sync/async communication, because in the trace level shows CL_XMS_PLSRV_CALL_BPE-ENTER_PLSRV" and after that every message are 'wait time starting'.
don't know the reason of the error. Maybe I missed something to configure?
    the BPM is like this:
Receiver(Open Sync/Async bridge) -> Transformation (mapping from http request to RFC request) -> SyncSend (RFC request and response) -> Transformation (mapping from rfc response to http response) -> Send (Close S/A Bridge)
the IR is configured like this:
Message Types u2013 External Definitions u2013 Imported Objects
mt_cxml_request -> contains xsd of xcml request template.
mt_cxml_response -> contains xsd of xcml response template.

    zintegracion_pedidos.response -> imported RFC from R/3

mm_rfc_response_to_cxml_response -> mapping from rfc response to http response (cxml).
    Interface Mappings
    im_cxml_request_async_abs_to_rfc_request_async_abs
    im_rfc_response_async_abs_to_cxml_response_async_abs
and the ID is configured like this:
Business system DES -> created business system for RFC adapter with interface mi_rfc_request_sync_in as receiver. Comunication channel u2018RFC Receiveru2019
Businnes service VW -> created businnes service for HTTP adapter with interface mi_cxml_request_sync_out as sender. Comunication channel u2018HTTP Senderu2019
    Receiver Determination
two receiver determinations. One for BPM and the other one for RFC(R/3):

    |BPM_PO| mi_rfc_request_sync_abs:
    Interface Determination
    two interface determinations:

    Sender Agreement
    VW
    mi_cxml_request_sync_out
    Receiver Agreement
    |BPM_PO| |DES| mi_rfc_request_sync_in

    hi all,
i've removed the transformations from the BPM, and i've created:
    in IR:
    - interface mapping: im_xcml_request_to_rfc_request_sync_abs
                                    source interface: mi_cxml_request-sync_abs
                                    target interface: mi_rfc_request_sync_abs
    in ID:
    - receiver determination: |VW| mi_cxml_request_sync_abs
                                      sender service: VW
                                      interface: mi_cxml_request_sync_abs
                                      receiver: DES
                                      interface mapping:im_xcml_request_to_rfc_request_sync_abs
    - interface determination: |VW| mi_cxml_erquest_sync_abs ||
                                         sender service: VW
                                         interface: mi_cxml_request_sync_abs
                                         inbound interface: mi_rfc_request_sync_abs
                                         interface mapping: im_xcml_request_to_rfc_request_sync_abs
    - receiver agreement: |VW| |DES| mi_rfc_request_sync_abs
                                   sender service: VW
                                   receiver service: DES
                                   receiver interface: mi_rfc_request_sync_abs
not sure these are the steps i had to do for mapping xml to rfc. but the result is the same error as before, the timeout.
i couldn't test with RTW because i'm getting an error 401 unauthorized.
i'd do it without BPM but the issue is that i wanted to add another step that would be to send the response from rfc to mail too once i got this BPM running. i mean, the response from RFC would be sent to http response and mail both.
the only way i can imagine to do it is with BPM but i'm really fed up with it.
    thank u very much folks

  • Can you explain steps in the Async and Sync scenarios JDBC to RFC.

    Hi,
Can you explain some basic steps in the Async and Sync scenarios for sending data from JDBC to RFC.
    Like,
The data is picked up from the  database table through JDBC adapter.
It is passed on to SAP  by calling the RFC. RFC gets executed
successfully. The status is returned by the RFC. The status needs to be
updated back into the SQL database table.
Is this a sync case or async case.
What si the diffrences in the sync and async scenarios in the above JDBC to RFC scenarios.

  • How to configure EOIO for async RFC ----- SOAP scenario

    Hello Experts,
I have Async. RFC----->SAOP secnario. Problem is that when the target system is down the PI system do not recoginze it and send the message successfully to target system, where the target system is down and do not show those transaction in it.
I got the impression that , I have to make the QoS as EOIO and set up the queues in the PI.
So, I checked both the comm channel RFC Sender and SOAP recevier but i was not able to find the option where we can make the QoS to EOIO.
Do we need to mention the QoS in the SOAP URL in SOAP recevier comm channel . if yes please anyone can give me an example of that.
Or do we have other option in PI to identify that target system is down and we can queue up the msgs in PI.
    I would appreciate your responses.
    Thanks.

Problem is that when the target system is down the PI system do not recoginze it and send the message successfully to
target system, where the target system is down and do not show those transaction in it
No need to change the Qos in order to know the status of the target system.
Just configure alert for Adapter Engine...when the SOAP channel tries to send the message and if the target system is down and alert will be generated (Connection Exception: Connection refused).
This will indicate that the Target system is down....now it dpends on your business on what to do in such a case....to cancel the message or to restart it (from XI/ PI)
Making QoS as EOIO will cause the entire queue to get blocked...and hence the following messages will also get blocked and wont be delivered even if the target system is up and running.
    Regards,
    Abhishek.

  • RFC(WSDL) to SOAP sync scenario

    Dear all,
My requirement is there is an RFC from ABAP that has to be exposed as WSDL and send it to some 3rd part sys take response and send it to RFC(abap).
How can this be achieved in 7.1/7.3,is there any difference .
I did not on work much on Soap scenario's.
    Pls suggest.
    Thanks

Since RFC is exposed as WSDL you can import that WSDL int the ESR to include request and response messages. Also create outbound(RFC) interface with the request and response message types. Similary you need to get WSDL for the receiver system. Import the WSDL IN ESR to create request and response message.  Create inbound interface (receiver) using the receiver wsdl req, resp messages. since RFC Is exposed as WSDL, I think you can create soap sender for RFC and soap receiver for the target system synchronous.  You can refer SDN for SOAP sender and receiver scenarios.
Refer SDN and also refer this [link|http://www.riyaz.net/sap/xipi-a-guide-to-using-sap-xi-soap-adapter/113/]

  • RFC-to-SOAP-Scenario: XIServer:NO_MAPPINGPROGRAM_FOUND

    Hey guys,
We've implemented in SAP PI 7.11 a RFC-to-SOAP-Scenario. The whole scenario is sync. WSDL and RFC are imported objects.
Now we're going on to test in backend and call the related remote function module via se37.
The error message is (from xsmb_moni)::
    <SAP:Error xmlns:SAP="http://sap.com/xi/XI/Message/30" xmlns:SOAP="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" SOAP:mustUnderstand="1">

      <SAP:Retry>M</SAP:Retry>
      </SAP:Error>
    What we've already done:
    -> Cache refresh
    -> server restart
    -> soap fault mapping
    -> dummy changes
-> mapping is available in sxi_cache
-> function module is not dumping in backend
Any ideas how we can go futher with this?
Thank you very much and greetings,
    Stefan

    FYI...
Apparently, this error message can sometimes be misleading.
I found in another thread that this message came after a short dump in the ABAP function. After viewing ST22 in our backend system I noticed short dumps corresponding to the times when I make the SOAP call.
    [NO_MAPPINGPROGRAM_FOUND SOAP RFC Adapter]
We can call SE37 with the same parameters and there is no ABAP error. So the search for root cause continues, but maybe this info will help someone.
