Asynchoronous JMSWebService....getting no result

Hi All,
Problem BackGround:
I am trying to run the asynchronous JMS WebService given in the example
http://otn.oracle.com/tech/webservices/htdocs/series/jms/content.html.
I have created the two destinations i.e a queue and a topic in the 9iDB as demonstrated in the exmaple.
The JMSWebService has two methods send() and recieve.
There is a MDB which acts as a JMSListener and listens at the Queue and then does the processing
of the messages found in the Queue in its onMessage(Element e) method.The MDB after doing the processing is
supposed to write the output of the processing in another destination...i,e a Topic .from this topic the
JMSWebService receive() reads the results posted by the MDB to the Topic.
Problem Context:
I have created a stub class out of the wsdl file and when i try to send a xml request wrapped in a w3c.Document
Element by invoking the send() method it writes to the Queue.After this the EJB Container needs to delegate the
posting of a new message in the Queue to the MDB which is not happening because the onMessage() of the MDB is
not invoked.The JMSWebService meanwhile invokes the read() method on the second destination i.e the Topic, where
the MDB is supposed to post the result of its onMessage().Since is finds nothing it waits in an infinite loop.
Queries:
Q1. Why is the onMessage() method not invoked by the container.
Q2. what are the pre-requisites for this..am i missing something.
Q3. How does a developer check the messages posted on a destination.
Its a bit urgent...iam in middle of putting a asynchronous framework for our on-going project.Any pointers
would be highly appreciated.
Rgds
Rishi.

Here are the gotchas that I encountered while writing the tutorial (I am to blame for any mistakes!):
1. Database version number. Make sure you have upgrade to 9.1.0.4 or 9.2.0.2. Unless that was done, I would always hang like you describe or get errors about wrong parameters being passed to AQ
2. In step 11, make sure you have the two queues displayed as shown in the picture. This also is a way to determine whether the messages made it into the queue by looking at the results of this query.
3. Make sure to deploy your MDB independent of the Web service. I sometimes deployed it as part of the Web service and this never took - step 16.
4. I found that if I re-deployed on top of a non-working example fixes, for some reason it did not work. I had to undeploy the configuration - both the Web service and the MDB to make sure I had a clean environment.
Unfortunately JDev does not have an automatic undeploy so you can use the command line version from OC4J or the delete directory/update-config-file way. The manual deletion is done as follows:
a. Delete the <oc4j_home>\j2ee\applications-deployment\mdb directory
b. Delete the <oc4j_home>\j2ee\applications-deployment\JMS-JMSWebService-WS directory
c. Delete the <oc4j_home>\j2ee\applications\mdb directory
d. Delete the <oc4j_home>\j2ee\applications\JMS-JMSWebService-WS directory
e. Delete the files:
<oc4j_home>\j2ee\applications\mdb.ear
<oc4j_home>\j2ee\applications\JMS-JMSWebService-WS.ear
f. Update the <oc4j_home>\j2ee\config\server.xml and delete the two lines:
     <application name="mdb" path="../applications/mdb.ear" auto-start="true" />
     <application name="JMS-JMSWebService-WS" path="../applications/JMS-JMSWebService-WS.ear" auto-start="true" />
The undeploy command for OC4J does this automatically for you, you just need to know the syntax.
Then re-deploy the MDB and Web Service.
5. When setting up the Web Service configuration make sure your second tab (step 21) really says Topic .... I accidently originally deployed using Queues for both send and receive and then ran into the problem in #4 which was redeploying with the correct configuration didn't work until I delete the original deployment - this might be a kink in my config but I thought it worthwhile mentioning.
Not sure if these help but hopefully.
Mike.

  • How to get the results in one line

    Hi
    if i use the script below i get the name of path and then : and in next line i get the results.is there a way to get the results from every path after the : and not in the next line?
    another question - is there a way that the script will not show the server name on every path?
    (Get-Counter -ListSet LogicalDisk).PathsWithInstances | Get-Counter
    THC

    If you take you script and pipe it to get member, it will give you a list of various script properties.
    (Get-Counter -ListSet LogicalDisk).PathsWithInstances | Get-Counter | get-member
    You will see that the object type returned by "Get-Counter" is Microsoft.PowerShell.Commands.GetCounter.PerformanceCounterSampleSet.
    TypeName:
    Microsoft.PowerShell.Commands.GetCounter.PerformanceCounterSampleSet
    Name MemberType Definition
    Equals Method bool Equals(System.Object obj)
    GetHashCode Method int GetHashCode()
    GetType Method type GetType()
    ToString Method string ToString()
    CounterSamples Property Microsoft.PowerShell.Commands.GetCounter.Perfo...
    Timestamp Property datetime Timestamp {get;set;}
    Readings ScriptProperty System.Object Readings {get=$strPaths = ""...
    You can try grabbing different properties, and they will print out differently, displaying the data on the same line in some cases. For example, pipe your output to a "foreach-object" block, and then for each object print out the CounterSamples property.
    (Get-Counter -ListSet LogicalDisk).PathsWithInstances | Get-Counter | foreach-object { ($_).CounterSamples }
    This should all print on one line now. However, you also asked if there was a way to not have the server print out on every line. The way to control the format of these outputs is to use the "format-table" cmdlet. So you would pipe your output to format-table
    and then give it various options. This is how you would pipe it (without any options).
    (Get-Counter -ListSet LogicalDisk).PathsWithInstances |
    Get-Counter | object { ($_).CounterSamples | format-table }#OR USE YOUR ORIGINAL CODE(Get-Counter -ListSet LogicalDisk).PathsWithInstances |
    Get-Counter | format-table }
    Now, it's up to you to give format-table the options you want. With no options, output will look unchanged. To see what options are available to you, use get-help.
    get-help format-table
    I hope this helps!
    Thank for all the info...

  • Best way to get UUT result to Custom TestStand UI

    Hello,
    I am trying to get the results of my UUT to my custom UI.  I am already using the EndExecution Callback to tell my UI when the UUT is finished executing.  I was hoping ot use that same callback VI to tell my UI the result of the execution.
    The EndExecution callback includes a reference to the execution.  I figured I could read the "ResultStatus" Property, which seems to report "Passed" or "Failed" correctly, but if I terminate execution, it is still returning "Passed", when I would expect it to return "Terminated".
    Does anybody have any thoughts on what I am doing wrong or what might be a better way to do this?  I thought of just using a UI Message, but then that requires me to modify the client sequence and post the UI message with the results.  I'd rather have this work for all client sequences.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    I think you are looking for handling the UIMsg_ModelState_TestingComplete user interface message.
    Refer to the help:
    UIMsg_ModelState_TestingComplete–(Value: 34) TestStand process models post this message to the user interface after the MainSequence in the client sequence file returns control to the model. If the execution is not a batch controller or a parallel controller, the stringDataParam parameter specifies the UUT result status. If the execution is a batch controller or a parallel controller, the value of the stringDataParam parameter is Done. The numericDataParam parameter specifies the test-socket index. The activeXDataParam parameter contains a reference to the sequence context for the process model sequence file that posts the message.

  • How do I get iTunes 11 to work as the old iTunes did in this respect: after playing a song in one playlist, I click on another playlist, highlight a song, press play, and get the result of that song playing & that playlist continuing?

       How do I get iTunes 11 to work as the old iTunes did in this respect: after playing a song in one playlist, I click on another playlist, highlight a song, press play, and get the result of that song playing & that playlist continuing?  As it goes now, one clicks on the song in the new playlist where the arrow is and then chooses 'Play Song Next.'  So, it plays next, but then the song after that is back in the old playlist.  I want to use iTunes smoothly without the extra clicks I've had to do in order to get the playlist to continue.  This is music for background while I play the violin at restaurants, and extra clicks and hassle is quite unappreciated, especailly since it worked fine in the previous iTunes.
       Thanks.

    At the top of the playlist where it shows the playlist title and the number of songs, there are two icons. Click the "play" triangle to add the entire playlist to "Up Next", or the "shuffle" symbol to do the same thing but in random order. But the currently playing track will stop playing, and all the songs in "Up Next" will be removed (replaced by the ones from this playlist).
    If you hold down the "option" key while clicking those icons, the currently playing song will continue playing, and the new playlist will be added to "Up Next" (above the songs that were already there).

  • 10.5.5 Client Getting No Results with Spotlight Search

    Hi -
    My company is slow to change. We are just now getting some Leopard workstations in our enterprise. The thing my users noticed right away was that under 10.5.5, they are unable to get any results from Spotlight searches on our Tiger Xserves over AFP. The Tiger workstation users can get search results from share points but not Leopard ones.
    The Xserves all have 10.4.9 Server installed. The XServes and workstations are all bound to AD with SSO turned on. I limited the servers 10.4.9 Server because with 10.4.11 Server I get AD issues. 10.4.9 is stable for us.
    I am forced to use Leopard as the new MacPros demand it
    My question - What should I do so the Leopard workstations (10.5.5) can get real Spotlight results from my share points?
    I have looked at the other Apple Support Boards and I don't get understand what they are talking about.
    Thanks in advance.

    I am an IT manager in a similar situation. However, I have shelled out the thousands to upgrade everything to the latest OS with my xserve running 10.5.5, and users running 10.5.5 or 10.5.6. Spotlight is totally useless. I have talked to tech "supportless" several times - no help. I have installed and reinstalled 10.5 on the server, reformatted drives, copied and deleted hundreds of gigs of data, done all kinds of terminal commands that were supposed to fix it, but it still just doesn't work. I wish Apple would stop coming out with new stuff for a while and fix this basic computer function. For now I use "Better Search". Better Search is Freeware from http://www.fornextsoft.com. Its ok - at least it finds stuff, but it is still not 100% accurate sometimes.

    Hi Bhavesh,
    We are getting following error if we use the UDF you given below:
    Check Result for Object test   Source code has syntax error:  D:/usr/sap/XID/DVEBMGS00/j2ee/cluster/server0/./temp/classpath_resolver/Mapf2026120390a11db9d1f000e7f22e9d4/source/com/sap/xi/tf/_test_.java:75: a is already defined in testUDF$(java.lang.String[],java.lang.String[],java.lang.String[],java.lang.String[],java.lang.String[],com.sap.aii.mappingtool.tf3.rt.ResultList,com.sap.aii.mappingtool.tf3.rt.Container) int a = a.length(); ^ D:/usr/sap/XID/DVEBMGS00/j2ee/cluster/server0/./temp/classpath_resolver/Mapf2026120390a11db9d1f000e7f22e9d4/source/com/sap/xi/tf/_test_.java:75: int cannot be dereferenced int a = a.length(); ^
    We have no knowledge of java at all.
    We did some modifications to it as below:
    String mailBody = new String();
    int a = a.length();
    int b = b.length();
    int c = c.length();
    int d = d.length();
    int e = e.length();
    for(int i = 0; i < a.length(); i++)
    mailBody = mailBody + a + " " + b + " " + c + " " + d + " " + e + "<BR>";
    result.addValue(mailBody);
    It it didn't work. Think we are missing something. Can please help us to figure it out.

  • How to get the result set in batches

    I have a query which results into large data. This data i want to display in a group of 20. After every 20 records i want to add header and footer to it.
    Is it possible to get the result set data into batch of 20 ? means can i specify start and end index of query ?
    regards
    Manisha

    What I am saying is that a big query with lots of
    joins will probably be slow, and as such would be a
    ripe candidate for batching the responses, if it were
    not possible to speed/optimize it. Batching is nice
    to look at for the user, but is not a solution for
    performance problems. In essence it is irrelevant
    that it adds a little performance deficit, as it
    appears to be running a lot quicker, and gives more
    feedback to the user.Then let me say it again....
    - "Join" is a term that applies to a method of doing queries in the database....
    - Query 1 which uses a join and returns 15 rows
    - Query 2 which does not use a join and returns 1500 rows.
    Given the above then Query 1 will provide better overall performance for the system than Query 2 in a properly configured database.
    If it doesn't then the database is not set up correctly.
    And again this will be irrespective of whether the query is scrollable or not.

  • How to get the result of a method on a page

    I use JDeveloper 11g
    I want the result of a method (String) in the ApplicationModule on a page (jspx)
    What I have done is:
    1. make a method (getValue) in the ApplicationModule Algemeen (also in Client interface)
    2. make a pagedef-file with executables and bindings, see
    <executables>
    <invokeAction id="doGetValue" Binds="getValue"
    Refresh="renderModel"/>
    <variableIterator id="variables" Refresh="renderModel">
    <variable Type="java.lang.String" Name="getValueReturn"
    IsQueriable="false" IsUpdateable="0"
    DefaultValue="${bindings.getValue.result}"/>
    </variableIterator>
    </executables>
    <bindings>
    <methodAction id="getValue" RequiresUpdateModel="true"
    Action="invokeMethod" MethodName="getValue"
    IsViewObjectMethod="false" DataControl="AlgemeenDataControl"
    InstanceName="AlgemeenDataControl.dataProvider"
    ReturnName="AlgemeenDataControl.methodResults.getValue_AlgemeenDataControl_dataProvider_getValue_result"/>
    <attributeValues IterBinding="variables" id="ValueReturn">
    <AttrNames>
    <Item Value="getValueReturn"/>
    </AttrNames>
    </attributeValues>
    </bindings>
    3. on the page (jspx) I have an outputText-component:
    <h:outputText value="#{bindings.ValueReturn.inputValue}"/>
    But, it does not work, I don't get the result of the method on the screen.
    Who can help me with this?

    Hi,
    Simple example below:
    Suppose you have this method in AppmoduleImpl:
    public void testHello( ) {
    return "Hello";
    1.After you expose this to clientInterface,drop this method on the jspx page as ADF Parameter
    form
    2.Drop the return String as outputText
    3.Run the page,click on the commandButton & the outputText returns 'Hello'

    Try doing this in your sql scripts
    set heading off

    set linesize 4000
    set feedback off
    set verify off
    set trimespace on
    set colsep ","
    spool output.txt
    select * from dual (or whatever you are querying
    spool off
    There may be a couple other set statement that you could add but
    this should get you started in the right direction

  • Problem in Flex to get XML result from web services

    Hi all
    I am struggling a proplem for a whole day, i hope somebody can help.
    I am trying to get the list file of files located on the server, so i use flex to access a ASP.NET ASMX web services, that returns all the file names in a folder.
    I can see that web servicese worked perfectly, however when i try to get the result from flex, i could not figure out how to get the real data i wantted
    public function LoadImage(e:ResultEvent):void{
    imageList.dataProvider = e.result;
    the e.result has some addtional tags, such as
    <GetImageFileListResponse xmlns="http://tempuri.org/" xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">

          <image>21051802471898733113.png</image>
    where GetImageFileList is the operation name used in web service
    I am only interested in the data starting from <images> . I don't know why the addtioanl tag has been added.
    here is the code i have used in flex.
    <mx:WebService
    wsdl="http://localhost/Flex/GetImageFiles.asmx?WSDL" id="imageWs">
    <mx:operation name="GetImageFileList" result="LoadImage(event)" fault="mx.controls.Alert.show(event.fault.faultString)" resultFormat="
    e4x">
    </mx:operation>
    </mx:WebService>
    Thanks in advance!!!

    Hi,
    Just replace the below line in your code and check...
    imageList.dataProvider = e.result.GetImageFileListResult.images;

  • Custom Search Portlet not getting the results as expected.

    Hi All,
    I am using CustomSearchPortlet and I am having following problems. I created an itemtype IT with attributes A1,A2.Then I configured my custom search portlet to search based on A1,A2 attributes only. I have created 3 instances of items Item1,Item2,Item3 based on itemtype IT as follows
    Item1(A1=value11,A2=value12)
    Item2(A1=value21,A2=cat22)
    Item3(A1=value11,A2=value32)
    and when I search for value11, I get Item1,Item3 as results. Till here it was nice and behaving as expected. Suddenly after some time, it stopped working and i am not getting the results I used to get before. The only thing i remember to have changed in the meanwhile was to change the A2 attribute values of some of these items. my searchtext remained the same as value11. I was confused as to why the custom search portlet is not getting these results that it was getting before...Thanks for any help in solving this.
    Thanks,
    Prasanth.

    Hi,
    If Oracle Text is enabled in your portal, the updated items need to be synchronised before they can be returned in the Search. Since you updated those items, though not changing values for this particular attribute, it will be in the queue for indexing and hence will not be returned until it is indexed.
    Thanks.

  • Setting my system in order to get better results in burning the SD AND HD

    I need help with setting my system in order to get better results in burning the SD AND HD DVDs
    here are my system details:
    Camera : SONY HVRZ5U
    COMPUTER SYSTEM: MAC PRO 10.6.6
    SOFTWARE: FINAL CUT PRO 7
    Question #2:
    My camera has a built in Firewire output, do I need a AJA capture card for my Mac PRO?

    I have a Z7u, Mac Pro running 10.6.5, FCP 6.0.6
    You can capture HDV via Firewire. Make your preset HDV and edit in that timeline. But I would set the RENDER as Pro Res.
    I have an AJA IoHD so I capture as Pro Res. Probably a better way to go, but certainly not necessary if you don't have a dedicated capture card.
    After editing I take the resultant exported edited,self-contained .mov into compressor to make the mpeg2 and ac3 to take into DVDSP. These are SD DVD's. They come out just fine.
    What don't you like about your results?
