  • Migration from ATG Dynamo 5.1 to Weblogic 10.3 Server

    Hi,
    We are currently involved in a project in which the application has be
    migrated from the ATG Dynamo Server 5.1 to Weblogic 10.3 application
    server.
    While doing this we are facing some problems related to
    DynamoHttpServletRequest.
    Previosly the code was written as below:
    DynamoHttpServletRequest atgRequest = (DynamoHttpServletRequest)
    request;
    HttpSession atgSession = (HttpSession) atgRequest.resolveName("/" );
    Since we are moving to the weblogic server we are planning to remove
    the DynamoHttpServletRequest and use the javax HttpServletRequest.
    But to do this i am unable to find the functionality that does
    resolveName("/" ).
    I tried writing the below 2 lines of code inplace of the 2 lines of
    code above, but it is not solving the purpose.
    HttpServletRequest weblogicRequest = (HttpServletRequest) request;
    HttpSession weblogicSession = (HttpSession)
    weblogicRequest.getSession();
    Can anybody please help me in solving this problem where i can replace
    DynamoHttpServletRequest with HttpServletRequest.
    Any suggestions are welcome.
    Thanks in advance
    Shailendra

    Hi Ravi,
    Thanks for your response.
    While migrating we have tried to remove the ATG dependency and we are getting session invalid. We are unable to find a similar method for “resolveName” in HTTPServletRequest. The method “resolveName” of the DynamoHttpServletRequest is being used to retrieve the session object by passing a String parameter (‘/’ or any URL).
    Whereas the HTTPServletRequest has only two methods [getSession() or getSession(Boolean)] to retrieve the session object and here we cannot pass any String parameter. Thus we are unable the replicate the existing functionality using the HTTPServletRequest class.
    Below are some code examples for your reference.
    Sample1:
    Below commented code is original one. we tried to as mentined below:
    //import atg.servlet.DynamoHttpServletRequest;
    /* DynamoHttpServletRequest atgRequest = (DynamoHttpServletRequest) request;
    HttpSession atgSession = (HttpSession) atgRequest.resolveName("/" );
    String atgsession = "jsessionid=" + atgSession.getId();
    HttpServletRequest weblogicRequest = (HttpServletRequest) request;
    HttpSession weblogicSession = (HttpSession) weblogicRequest.getSession();
    String weblogicsession = "jsessionid=" + weblogicSession.getId();
    Sample2:
    Below commented code is original one. we tried to as mentined below:
    /* ATG Dynamo for Session Last Access Time functionality */
    //import atg.servlet.DynamoHttpServletRequest;
    /* DynamoHttpServletRequest atgRequest = (DynamoHttpServletRequest) request;
    HttpSession session = (HttpSession) atgRequest.resolveName("/atg/dynamo/servlet/sessiontracking/SessionManager/" + sessionID);
    HttpServletRequest weblogicRequest = (HttpServletRequest) request;
    HttpSession session = (HttpSession) weblogicRequest.getSession();
    we would like to know is there any smilar functionality or methods available so we can use in HttpServletRequest or servlets.
    Thanks,

    It looks that you haven't selected DafEar.Admin in your module list to build the ear.
    And regarding the crs, you might not have imported the crs data.
    Check if you have data in cata/catb dcs_product/dcs_sku tables.
    May be you might need to run CMS.

  • Help on File Upload on ATG Dynamo 5.6 (Servlet 2.2)

    Hi,
    I am using Apache Common FileUpload to upload a file on the server. It works well on Tomcat . I tried to port the same code on ATG Dynamo 5.6.1, I could not upload the files. After going deep into the problem, I got to know that Apache FileUpload has a dependancy of Servlet 2.3 Specs compliance.
    While I checked the version of Servlet on ATG, it was 2.2.
    Could somebody help me with the same.
    I need some file upload utility that would work on ATG Dynamo.
    Or atleast a way out would do.
    Thanks and regards.....
    Kalpak

    Try to obtain an older version of the commons FileUpload utility if available, which is compatible with your desired version or you can use another utility that supports Servlets 2.0 provided by Oreilly Package...
    The class MultipartRequest authored by oreilly that included in the package holds the whole nasty behind the scenes, here you are the link for the docs
    http://www.stanford.edu/group/coursework/stanfordoki/oreilly/com.oreilly.servlet.MultipartRequest.html
    And you can find the package, examples and the sources here

  • ERROR [nucleusNamespace.atg.dynamo.messaging.MessagingManager]

    When I check the server.log theres the following error filling up the whole file:
    ERROR [nucleusNamespace.atg.dynamo.messaging.MessagingManager] (InputDestinationConsumer-sqldms:/sqldms/CacheInvalidator) An error occurred while trying to receive and deliver a Message for input port "InvalidationMessagePort" with destination "sqldms:/sqldms/CacheInvalidator" of MessageSink with nucleus name "/bestbuy/digiterra/repository/cacheInvalidation/CacheInvalidationReceiver"
    I was wondering if anyone could help me with the error. Thank you in advance.

    The ScenarioManager requires a valid persistent profile on the OrderAbandoned message which is used as the subject but it is not able to do so. Looks like you are saving incomplete order from anonymous user but perhaps not saving the anonymous profile. If sending the OrderAbandoned message is a must requirement for you, then you should either persist anonymous profiles or stop persisting anonymous orders. And in case you do not have any scenario or any other listener for the OrderAbandoned event then try to set the property "sendOrderAbandonedMessage" in AbandonedOrderTools as false.

  • Will Portal migrate to Tomcat?

    I have a question regarding iAS and Portals use of Jserv.
    A few quotes from www.apache.org:
    "Our most widely used project, JServ, will also be migrated, but as it has already been noted, JServ is in a bug fix only mode. No new features will be added and no new development will occur. As a replacement for JServ, we recommend that you please evaluate the Tomcat servlet engine for your needs as it implements the latest Servlet API specifications and that is where all active development is occuring."
    "3 July 2000 Apache JServ has been chosen (along with Apache httpd) by Oracle for use in their Internet Application Server product. The Java Apache Project is proud to have our software commercially endorsed. Hopefully they will also migrate to the Jakarta Tomcat servlet engine which supports the latest Servlet API and JSP specifications out of the box."
    My question is: will Oracle migrate to Tomcat, and if so: When?
    Best regards,
    Rune Lxvnfseth

    I've passed your question on to the Application Server Product Managers. Look for a reply directly from them. This discussion is focused on Oracle9iAS Portal rather than the Application Server.

  • Creating a link to text file in a tomcat server not working in JSP webapp

    I am using netbeans to create an web application within my desktop, and then I load the build/web folder to a tomcat server to test the application. Everything works fine. However, when I try to link up my JSP pages to text files (.txt) create by the application on the server, I seem to be getting files that might be kept in a terminal.
    When I get the Real path of the servlet context, I find that it is to a C:\ type file rather than a //hostname type of directory. So obviously those files are not being reached.
    Does anybody know how to deal this problem?

    There are a number of ways to get to the Flash Global Security settings dialog.
    My favourite way is just to double click on a Captivate SWF (not the HTM file) to open it in a web browser, then right click on the playing screen to get the Flash context menu.  On the context menu, click the Global Settings option.
    In the web page that opens, click the link on the left to Global Security Settings.
    Add the folder or drive location of your published Captivate content to the Trusted Locations.

    [Status/Consequence]
    Adprep requires access to existing forest-wide information from the schema master in order to complete this operation.
    [User Action]
    Check the log file, ADPrep.log, in the C:\Windows\debug\adprep\logs\20130122111500 directory for more information.
    We did have AVAST Antivirus installed on the server but this was removed.  Any idea's?

    Hi Biswajit et. al., thanks for your help thus far, it is greatly appreciated...
    Unfortunately I had already disabled the NIC's on both hosts.  They currently remain disabled.  I've just tried turning off IPv6 as well and no luck.
    PortQry came back fine (I think) :)

  • Write Access to a file in Tomcat server via J2me Midlet

    How to make write access to a file using midlet and HTTP connection?
    I have text file in the Tomcat server and I am able to read it with HTTP connection using emulator, but don't have idea how to make write access to the file. I'd like to write some text to the file.

    Thanks, but could you be more accurate. What methods should I use in the servlet and what methods in the midlet?
    Some links which concern this subject, would be nice too. I have tried with google, no success.
