Atribute Validation Against a VO Value

I am a beginner and have no professional experience on OAF. I am an oracle forms developer professional.
My problem is I have a master detail form with an AM, may AM contains three VO
AMCRequisitionsHeaderVO -> Header (Based On EO)
AMCRequisitionsLinesVO -> Lines (Based On EO and will have more then one row in my Page)
StockQtyVO -> (Query Based)
Select sum(Primary_Qty) primaryQty
From mtl_material_transactions
Where organization_id = :source_organization_id
And inventory_item_id = :inventory_item_id;
Now I want to validate an attribute named DemandedQty in my AMCRequisitionsLinesVO (keep in mind, it will have more then one row on my page) against my StockQtyVO.
This was my whole requirement; can you people please tell me the code to handle my this problem and also suggest me what is the best practice to write validations and what is the alternate solution in OAF for
Raise Form_Trigger_Failure ?

Hi,
Code Snippet:
RowSetIterator Iter;
PeriodsVORowImpl row=null;
PeriodsVOImpl mpvo=getPeriodsVO1();
fetchedrowcount=mpvo.getRowCount();
Iter = mpvo.createRowSetIterator("Iter");
Iter.setRangeStart(0);
Iter.setRangeSize(fetchedrowcount);
for(int i=0;i<fetchedrowcount;i++)
row= (PeriodsVORowImpl)Iter.getRowAtRangeIndex(i);
DemandedQty=row.getAttribute("DemandedQty");
if("Yes".equal(DemandedQty))
throw new OAException("Error",OAException.ERROR);

  • Vivado 2013.4 ERROR: [IP_Flow 19-395] Problem validating against XML schema: Invalid value format for this type spirit:order

    Hello,
    I just downloaded and installed Vivado 2013.4 on my Xubuntu 12.04 machine. But when I try to add IP from the IP catalog, as in the ug937 Lab1 step2, it fails with obscure error messages (see below).
    Here's basically what I did:
    -In the Flow Navigator, i select the IP Catalog button.
    -In the search field of the IP Catalog, I type DDS.
    -then I double-click the DDS Compiler and my error occure.
    Please Help,
    Jerome.

    We had the same problem when switching to Ubuntu 14.04, and there actually is a solution for it: make sure your locales are set to English.
    $> env | grep LC_*
    should only show english (or C) locales, all others are known to cause parsing errors in some numbers, usually caused by wrong string-to-float conversions (e.g. 18,29 in german is 18.29 in english). You can change the locales in the file /etc/default/localesThis is not the first time we had problems with the locale settings, Xilinx does not seem to test their software with anything else than en_US, causing obscure bugs like this one.

  • Using XSL on XML validated against XSD

    Transforming XSD validated XMLType Data
    Re: example XSL in Chapter 6 that transforms XML with associated XSD schema definition (Oracle 9i XML Database Developer's Guide)
    I noted that this XSL uses only the "general" node identification functions (e.g., name() ) to access nodes in the <xsl:value-of select..>. I have also noted that standard XSL templates from other sections of the documentation, for example in Chapter 3 and in Appendix D, do not work with an XML which is validated against an XSD schema.
    Can anyone give me an example <xsl:value-of select..> that addresses a specific node in the "purchase order" example, like the shipTo, name, street -- or any other specific node. This is critical since there is always bound to be node-specific processing in any transformation, and this is not demonstrated by any example of XML which has been validated against an XSD.
    I have tried this endlessly on my own examples of XML w/XSD validation. Even if the value-of select="name(.)" tells you that the name of the node is "FooBar", you cannot use FooBar as a select test to do FooBar specific processing.
    Help?????

    Not quite understand your question. Can you send me the example doc?

  • Editing a field in ALV and validating the newly entered Value

    Hi Experts,
       I have an ALV report in grid display (not object oriented). My requirement is to edit a field on the output and write the validations to validate the value that was edited on the ALV output.
    This can be done using object oriented coding by using the method check_changed_data. For this to happen, i need to change the entire scope of my report into object oriented, which is like reinventing the wheel.
    Since my report was developed using classical ABAP, what needs to be done to get this functionality. Any suggestions are welcome.
    Thanks.

    in the FM 'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY'  import parameter IS_LAYOUT check out the columsn EDIT and EDIT_COLUMN. Also Use FM 'REUSE_ALV_EVENTS_GET' to get list possible event and pass a subroutine name which will be called when ever event is fired.
    example:
      CALL FUNCTION 'REUSE_ALV_EVENTS_GET'
        EXPORTING
          i_list_type = 0
        IMPORTING
          et_events   = l_events.
      READ TABLE l_events WITH KEY name = slis_ev_top_of_page
                                   INTO g_event.
      IF sy-subrc = 0.
        MOVE top_of_page TO g_event-form.
        APPEND g_event TO t_events.
      ENDIF.
      CALL FUNCTION 'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY'

    If you create a metadatatype with a single metdata block, and you reference that in your vm/cm cell attribute using a *one* based index, Excel seems to see the link and it honors it when saving the spreadsheet.
    So, I ended up with something like:

  • Credit Note to be adjusted against sales order value

    Hi Experts,
    The scenario is as follows:
    a. Customer is having credit note(balance) in SAP CRM
    b. In subsequent order the credit note value to be adjusted against the order value
    c. Customer is advance payment only
    d. The sales order value to be calculated after deducting the credit note for order for payment

    Hi Mukesh,
    I think you want to adjust the value of the sales order based on the credit note issued to the customer or advance payment. The credit note will result in a AR posting and hence should not be used for adjusting the sale order value. That adjustment will happen in AR anyway.
    The advance payment can be stored in a condition of the sales order and can be used for adjusting the sales order value basically to reduce the AR. You will have to manipulations in pricing to get the right AR, Revenue and Advance payment postings.
    Let me know if you want more details as I am not 100% clear about your issue.
    Thanks
    Ashish

  • XML validation against XSD

    Hi,
    Does Oracle 8i (Release 3) support XML validations against XSD? I know Oracle 9i (Release 2) supports XML validations against XSD.
    Also, Does Oracle support XML validations against XDR?

    Validate with DOMParser or the SAXParser.

  • XML validation against DTD.. Is it possible?

    Hello all,
    Sorry for what may be a trivial post, but I'll keep it short..
    According to the docs:
    "The Validate XML command will validate the XML against the schema defined in the XML file. This command on the context menu is disabled whenever an XML file does not have an XML namespace defined."
    I'm used to the XML editor retrieving a DTD from somewhere and validating it against that.. is it possible to do this in JDev?

    Unfortunately it's not. We only have support for validating against XML Schemas.

    Hello!
    It might be that you get a null attribute and are doing something with it, without first
    checking if it is null? For example you retrieve a row and the attribute in the row is null
    and do a substring on in.

  • How to disable validation against DTD while unmarshalling

    Hi All
    I am relatively new to XML and JAXB. I have a tool that needs to run offline, however the XML documents that are being read in are automatically being validated against the DTD even though I have specified unmarshaller.setValidating(false). How can I completely diable validation while offline? Here is my code:
    context = JAXBContext.newInstance("my.xmlobjects.package");
    Unmarshaller u = context.createUnmarshaller();
    u.setValidating(false);
    testLog = (TestLog) u.unmarshal(new File("/path/to/my/file.xml"));
    I've also tried a suggestion I saw on another forum (note that I know nothing about SAX, I've been trying to make sense of the documentation):
    SAXParserFactory parserFactory = SAXParserFactory.newInstance();
    parserFactory.setValidating(false);
    SAXParser saxParser = parserFactory.newSAXParser();
    XMLReader xmlReader = saxParser.getXMLReader();
    EntityResolver entityResolver = new EntityResolver()
    public InputSource resolveEntity (String publicId, String systemId)
    return null;
    xmlReader.setEntityResolver(entityResolver);
    InputSource source = new InputSource(new FileInputStream("/path/to/my/file.xml");
    SAXSource saxSource = new SAXSource(xmlReader, source);
    context = JAXBContext.newInstance("my.xmlobjects.package");
    Unmarshaller u = context.createUnmarshaller();
    u.setValidating(false);
    testLog = (TestLog) u.unmarshal(saxSource);
    Both of these work when connected, but fail when disconnected from the internet. Is there an Oracle specific property that needs to be set here?
    Thanks
    Jeff

    Well you can create non validating parser programatically .
    http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs100/xml/programming.html#wp1069856
    i.e.
    SAXParserFactory spf = SAXParserFactory.newInstance();
    spf.setValidating(false);
    Hope this helps.

  • XML instance validation against XML schema

    How can I get a reference on the error node object after
    validation against an XML schema ?
    Ex. :
    DOMParser domP = new DOMParser();
    domP.setXMLSchema(schemaDoc); // schemaDoc = ref. on an XMLSchema
    domP.setValidationMode(XMLParser.SCHEMA_VALIDATION);
    domP.parse(reader); // reader contains the XML instance data
    If an error occurred, I only get a message string. What I need is to get a reference on the node object which contains the error in order to retrieve its properties to the schema.
    I could then alert the user with a message such as :
    "Data xxx is not valid ; it must be comprised between yy and zz...".
    Did somebody solve this problem ? May I use the XMLError class to do this ?
    Thank you

    Hi Ray,
    Were you able to resolve this issue? I am encountering a very similar problem where I am not connected to the internet and it fails during the newSchema method on javax.xml.validation.SchemaFactory. I have attempted to implement the suggestions of ExtremeGardener and vidyut with no luck.
    Per ExtremeGardener's suggestion of replacing xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" with xmlns:xs="XMLSchema.xsd" and storing it locally, it gave me an error for trying to set the "xs" or "xsd" prefixes to anything other than "http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema." I forget the exact error. I also tried to use my own prefix and it did not like that either.
    Per vidyut's suggestion of using a catalog resolver, I believe that I have tried that too (if I understand correctly). I created an LSResourceResolver and tied it to the SchemaFactory. I can invoke it for a namespace but that did not resolve the issue because it only invokes the resolver on an import, include, or redefine. I believe that it is trying to reach the internet due to the xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" attribute within the top-level schema element in the XSD and I know of no way to invoke it for that.
    I also created an ErrorHandler and tied it to the SchemaFactory. That shows me the errors and they are all related to the standard XML data types defined in XMLSchema.xsd. The errors that I am seeing are all of this form: "UndeclaredPrefix: Cannot resolve 'xs:string' as a QName: the prefix 'xs' is not declared."
    I am currently using the SchemaFactory in Java 1.5, but I am thinking about trying the Xerces SchemaFactory since they are not exactly the same implementation.
    Does anyone have any other suggestions? Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    betzro1

    Obviously, the w3c.org domain that you specified as ressource location is very slow - and, as the FAQ shows, this delay is intentional!
    The W3C servers are slow to return DTDs. Is the delay intentional?
    Yes. Due to various software systems downloading DTDs from our site millions of times a day (despite the caching directives of our servers), we have started to serve DTDs and schema (DTD, XSD, ENT, MOD, etc.) from our site with an artificial delay. Our goals in doing so are to bring more attention to our ongoing issues with excessive DTD traffic, and to protect the stability and response time of the rest of our site. We recommend HTTP caching or catalog files to improve performance.

  • XML validation against registered XSD

    I have registered XSD into oracle database, while validating xml against this xsd I got stuck with non-mandatory tags.
    Below is the tag-XSD structure:
    Status field as String:
    <xs:element name="Status" nillable="false"> <xs:annotation> <xs:documentation>Values are 'N' or 'E'</xs:documentation>
    </xs:annotation>
    <xs:simpleType>
    <xs:restriction base="xs:string">
    <xs:maxLength value="1"/>
    </xs:restriction>
    </xs:simpleType>
    </xs:element>
    idnumber tag field as Integer:
    <xs:element name="idnumber" type="xs:int" nillable="false">
    <xs:annotation>
    <xs:documentation>id value </xs:documentation>
    </xs:annotation>
    </xs:element>
    As status tag is of string type and I have mentioned it as nillable = "False", but even though when I am passing this tag as <status/>, then also its validating xml.... but as i mentioned nillable property as false then it should not validate it ..... please correct me if i m wrong..
    In case of idnumber tag it is of int type. In this case <idnumber/> will not work in either case even it is nillable = true or false. Means we cannt pass null values in integer field..... right?
    Please suggest me how to make tag of string datatype as not nillable.
    Is there any significance of using nillable = "false" in int datatype tag. Means if we want to make it as optional then need to mention it as minoccurs = 0..... is it correct?
    Requirement is simple:
    Just want to make some tag as optional and some as mandatory, tag can be of integer or string type.
    Thanks in advance.....

The nillable attribute doesn't work that way. It's easy to look that up in any tutorial.
    nillable = "true" means you allow the element to have a NULL content (different from empty string) by specifying an explicit null attribute :
    <Status xsi:nil="true" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"/>nillable = "false" is the default behaviour.
    Please suggest me how to make tag of string datatype as not nillable.

    Requirement is simple:
    Just want to make some tag as optional and some as mandatory, tag can be of integer or string type. You have to be careful about the vocabulary.
    In my mind, an "optional" element means you can omit it entirely in the instance document (minOccurs="0"), whereas an empty element means the start tag and end tag are there but with no content.
    There are multiple ways to allow for empty or non-empty elements.
    e.g. for a non-empty string :
    <xs:minLength value="1"/>or, as in your example, if the content is actually constrained to a list of values, use enumerations.
    xs:int datatype doesn't allow empty values (unless you use xsi:nil).
    A possible solution is to build a new type by unioning (xs:union) an xs:int and an empty string type.
