Attach JavaScript not working in Acrobat Reader XI

Hello,
I created a fillable PDF in which I used the following JavaScript for an "Attach" button:
this.importDataObject("MyFile");
This JavaScript worked and allowed the end user to attach files to the PDF in previous versions of Acrobat (through version 10 / Pro), but the button's functionality does not work in Adobe Acrobat XI. The button has no functionality when clicked, and no errors are received indicating what the issue may be.
Is there a bug that exists making this file not compatible with the Acrobat XI version, or is my coding outdated/inaccurate?

I am also having problems with the "No Hand" javascript which turns off the (not very helpful) page-forward hand icon (a hand symbol with a down arrow) which confuses our users when in fullscreen mode. We create interactive PDFs and everything worked fine up to Acrobat X/Reader X. Now in XI it doesn't allow the internal link icon (pointing finger) nor weblink icon (pointing finger with W) to appear. It just remains a plain o’ hand icon no matter what you mouse over even though there are links present.

Does anyone know why a hyperlink that contains backslash is not working in Acrobat reader 8 and 9?
I created a document in Indesign CS and it contains hyperlinks that open up files from network drive so they contain backslash (for example: c:\foder\forder\filename.jpg). All the hyperlinks work in Acrobat Reader 6 but not in Acrobat Reader 8 or 9.
Anybody could share the solution would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

SignatureValidate() method not working in acrobat reader 5

Will the method signatureValidate() work in acrobat reader 5. the same pdf validation which is working in acrobat reader versions >= 7 and not working in version 5. Kindly let me know if there are any alternative methods available to detect the digital signature field changes in lower versions. Urgent help required on this.

Javascript not working in Adobe Reader

Hi,
I have given the following javascript code in the "Will Save" Document Action. But this code does not execute in Adobe Reader, it works fine in Acrobat Standard/Pro. Why this code does not execute in Reader?

Yes the javascript is enabled.
The alert comes up in Acrobat Pro when I use the 'Save' or 'Save a Copy option'. When I use the 'Save a Copy' option in Adobe reader, the alert does not come up.

Shared review not working for Acrobat Reader

I can not believe have not been able to find an anwer to this, sorry if it has been asked before.
I am trying to setup shared review with clients running Acrobat Standard XI and Acrobat Reader XI, I am currently using a Sharepoint server for the review server if it matters.
When I send a shared review from Acrobat Standard XI to a user on Acrobat Reader XI, the user is unable to make shared review comments. The shared review will work when sent to other Standard or Pro XI users. Any ideas? I have been looking at this for sometime now, and know the user has full rights to the Sharepoint server. Is there some setting I am missing in Reader?

I may be finding my own question, but really can not verify. Must you have Acrobat Pro for shared review to work with Reader? (I only have standard for pc)

Priyanja, your statement is ture. Reviews initiated with Acrobat Standard can only be participated through Acrobat Pro or Standard. However, this is NOT by design. It is a bug. Sendmail does not work in Acrobat 9.5.1.

The Sendmail feature does not work - when I try to attach mail, I get a warning:
"The SendMail doesn't know how to talk to your default mail client. Please select a different mail application to use."
1. Surely this should work?
2. How do I select a different mail application?

This does not work in Acrobat XI either for Office 64bit (Office 2013 64 bit)

I called tech support today but they dont seem to know anything about the error although its a known issue with all previous versions of Acrobat for serveral years now.
I really need to make this work, there is a random google post where I have ot make some regedits, but why can't Adobe fix this known issue since it is nothing new?
My basic understanding at this point is that even Acrobat XI is a 32 bit app and the programmers at Adobe still dont know how to write the API to talk to a 64bit mail client?
I really need some help on this if anybody has a real solution.

Can Designer create a submit button that works in Acrobat Reader

Just got Adobe Professional 7.0 for Windows XP. Was able to design a form in Professional that works in Acrobat Reader (the majority of my users do not have the full product). To do this I set the email button to export the data in a .fdf format. I received the full form as an attachment in my email.
I then brought up the form in Designer 7.0 to use its expanded design capability. The button choices for the email submit button did not allow me to select a format and the saved file would not work in Adobe Reader. I then changed the button to a plain button using the submit control type. I found several submit format choices (XML, PDF, etc.). I saved the file in a variety of the choices but could not get Adobe Reader to send the format versions. FDF was not a choice. XML works but I would rather see the full form directly as an email attachment instead of taking the extra step of importing the XML data into the form
Anybody have a work around?

Can you be more specific about what is needed and how to do it? I just downloaded the trial version of Designer and Document Server 6. I've created the form with a submit button but it ain't working.
I want the "Submit by email" button to do just that - send the viewable .pdf (not just the data).
To take a step back - I can't even get the darn button to send anything. I have the info entered correctly in Designer but when the buttons clicked, an error msg. reads: "An error occured while sending mail". That tells me a whole lot of nothing. Is it because it's the trial version, or is there something else going on?
Anyway can you explain how to use Reader Extension Server in conjunction with Designer?

SDK not work in Acrobat X

I was using AcroAVDoc::FindText to find particular text and in Acrobat 9. The SDK work fine and will be scrolled and highlight the text. However, the same code not work in Acrobat X. Anywork have any idea how to make it work. Thanks.

PDF Portfolio does not work with iOS Reader 11.3.2 on iOS 7.1.2

Well this is upsetting. I created a PDF form with several pages of the same form (it's a travel log).
My hoping to use Adobe Reader to complete the form and save back as a week at a time won't work.
I created the form using Acrobat Pro 9 from CS5.
Does anyone know if a PDF form in a Portfolio should work with Adobe Reader on the iPad2/
Also, what can I use that works with forms as a portfolio?

Reverse Printing Does not work in acrobat 9 pro

Can anyone help with this? any suggestions? I am trying to print a PDF portfolio. I need them to print in the reverse order they are currently printing in and checking the box Reverse pages does nothing??

Acrobat 7 plugin not working in Acrobat 8

I have developped a plugin that run correctly in Acrobat 7.
But if I use it in Acrobat 8 some fucntions are not working.

Yes I have just tryed recompiling with SDK 8 Headers fles but it is worst. I have more functions that don't work.
Functionnalities not working in Acrobat 8 :
- Creating toolbars described in an xml file
- When cliking a toolbar button updating a toolbar menu (the anchor button is well created but the menu is not attached to it)

Hyperlink not Responded in Acrobat Reader 9.0

Hi all,
I have installed Adobe Reader 9.0 recently. But in hyperlink that points to another PDF document has not been responded. No error message has not been given even. It worked with Acrobat Reader 7.0 also. In Acrobat Reader 7.0 if you click the hyperlink and then if the relavant document is not existed, It give error message saying that that it could not found the document. But in Reader 9.0 it does not respond even. I have updated the Acrobat Reader 9.0 also and it is upto date.
Does anyone has an idea?

Javascript not working in any browser except Opera! Please help!

I don't know for what particular reason, javascript has stoppped working in all the browsers I have, (Safari, Firefox, Camino, OmniWeb,)except on Opera. Can anyone direct me in the right direction to solve this issue?

Ok...
1.) Unless it is a horribly designed site javascript not working would not prevent you from at least opening said site. You might not be able to use some of the features, or in the example of acual applications like gmail or then new yahoo mail you might not be able to use those at all since they are written soley for js. But for sites like VersionTracker it shouldnt make a difference.
2.) Javascript is an interpeted language run on the client - ie the web browser. There is nothing to install. its part of the web browser youre using. You can uninstall and reinstall the browser itself but javascript is not a seperate component or something that is shared across applications that utilize it.
Javascript is not the issue here at least in the case of versiontracker and 1010wins. I turned JAvascript off in my browser and visited both and they load jsut fine. Your eChalk mail might need js but i dont know about all that.
So.... what happens when you try to visit one of these sites in one of the problem browsers???? Do you get a balck white screen? A server Error message? a DNS error? Does the app crash? etc..
