Attachments count is wrong

Firefox is counting graphics in the body of emails I receive as attachments. For instance, if someone has a strip of social media symbols under their business info, that shows up counted as an attachment at the top of the message and at the bottom as a jpeg. It's confusing and annoying. Is there a setting I can change to stop it?
Thanks!

Hi, madperson. Thanks for replying.
And, good question! My email is with Yahoo; the reason I posted this as a matter for Firefox is that it doesn't happen when I use Safari, which I've had to stop using because it's lost its mind (constant crashes I can't fix). So I'm suddenly back using Firefox and this problem appeared.
I realize my MacBook and Firefox are both old, but I don't remember this problem when I used Firefox originally. I'd love to upgrade, but that's gotta wait till I find a job!
Thanks again,
Suzie E

  • Find: hard link count is wrong for /:

    I am facing this problem.
I just installed arch linux on one of my box and I have got this error message if I do find on the root:
find: WARNING: Hard link count is wrong for /: this may be a bug in your filesystem driver. Automatically turning on find's -noleaf option. Earlier results may have failed to include directories that should have been searched.
I have searched through the forums and I found threads which discuss the same problem happened on /proc. But in my case it is /.
After checking the link count for /, I didn't find anything strange.
    "ls /" shows 16 subdir in /.
"ls -ld /" shows that / has 18 hard links.
Is this a bug with find?

    Thanks cactus.
You always reply fast don't you? 8)
I seem to have find the reason from the findutils bug report mailing list.
And this is a quote from the mail.
Although find made me aware of the issue, the message it prints could be more useful: it doesn't show an accurate location of where the incorrect count exists (instead, it seems to use the path that you gave to find on the command line),...

I'll highlight the important parts from that link for you:
Question wrote:I routinely use "find / -name ......", so how do I eliminate /proc from the search path?
    Answer wrote:
I almost always use the "-xdev" option to prevent 'find' from descending
into file systems other than the ones I explcitly specified, e.g.,
         find -xdev / /usr /var ...
It's pretty rare that I actually want to search my entire system, which
would include a news spool, a seldom used MS-Windows file system,
possibly a mounted CD or DVD, ..., and of course /proc.
why_no_proc wrote:The problem with the link count in /proc is that it changes every time a
process is created or terminates, so the number of directories that
'find' sees during processing might not agree with the link count that
it read at the start. I admit that doesn't seem terribly likely unless
the system is quite busy, but it can certainly happen.

  • HT1694 Unread email count is wrong

    Hi,
Unread email counter is wrong after search. Has been happening for a long time and still no fix from apple.
    Thanks for help

    Hi, jaff067.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I understand that you have an unread message counter, but your mail account indicates all mail is read.  This usually means that you have an additional mail account setup.  Check to see if you can access this account or change mailboxes and clear the unread via the steps below.

  • ITunes 11.1.1 SONG Count is WRONG!

    Hi,
    The title says it all.
However a bit more background detail.
    I'm running 10.8.5 on 2.3ghz, iCore 7 with 8gb of DDR3 with Terabyte storage.
Yes the system has been updated, yes i am running the latest iTunes, and YES I have diligently applied all system patches.
    That said...
What the frak is wrong with iTunes, aside from the bloated beast it's become ?
As you can see from the images below....the song counts are OFF from the same playlist folder.
The 1st image is from iTunes, the 2nd is from Swinsian.  Regardless of Swinsian because it IS reading the exported XML file from iTunes, which is reporting the correct number of songs in a given folder of playlists, iTunes 11 on the other hand is NOT!  Sadly.  I have gone thru and checked each individaul playlist and done the math that each is reporting the correct number of songs in a playlist...and the number that I come up with is 569 just like Swinsian does and the XML file does.  However, iTunes is NOT reporting that...as you can see, it reporting 247!  Ummmm iTunes/Apple...your math is slightly WRONG!
Is anyone else seeing this ?  Obviously there is a corruption somewhere...but I'll be damned if I can see it or figure out how the frak to fix it....

    What version of Windows?
Are you signed into the computer with an Administrator account?

The next step i need is to group the result also by Service type (annual or biennial), like this:
    ART_NR      MODELL     TOTAL_PRICE        QTY     MONTH   SERVICE_TYPE
    018743356 VACCUM      1234.56               4         FEB-13     ANNUAL
    018743356 VACCUM      4423.48               10       FEB-13     BIENNIAL
    005667821 LASER         4783.11               2         FEB-13     ANNUAL
    005667821 LASER         1123.77               22       FEB-13      BIENNIAL
    005231987 X-RAY1        8966.12               6        FEB-13      ANNUAL
005231987 X-RAY1        7826.44              12        FEB-13      BIENNIALThis values are only out of my head, not the table, only to show what i need.
    Thanks for your help.

;The reason why your aggregates were originally too high is that you have a many-to-many relationship between the tables. The tables are related only by art_nr, but art_nr is not unique in either table. Look at art_nr '005231987', example. There ate 2 rows in table_1 with that art_nr, and 6 rows in table_2 with the same art_nr. If we join on art_nr, then both of the rows in table_1 will match each of the 6 rows in table_2, so the COUNT will be 2 * 6 = 12, and in the SUM, each of the numbers from table_1 will get added 6 times.
Why is table_2 designed the way it is? Cn there be multiple modells for the same art_nr? If so, what would you want for output? If there can only be 1 modell for each art_nr, then a better design would be to have a table that just had one row per art_nr, and included the modell column, and another table to show which manufacturers produce each art_nr. In this problem, you wouldn't need the manufacturers table, and the other table already has unique art_nrs, so you wouldn't need anything like the sub-query table_2_summary.
Don't store price in a VARCHAR2 column. Storing NUMBERs in a VARCHAR2 column is just asking for problems. Why not use a NUMBER column instead.
You'll notice that I used ROUND (SUM ... where you use SUM ( ROUND. The results might be a little different because of rounding errors. ROUND ( SUM only has to call ROUND once per group (5 times in this example) instead of once per row (16 times in this example). The less rounding you do, the less rounding error creeps in. Also, since there are fewer function calls, it's more convenient. (Of course, you'll never notice the difference between calling ROUND 5 times or 16 times, but in a real-life exampe, the difference could be between calling it 50 times or calling it 16000 times.) If you really need to use SUM (ROUND, you can.

  • Smart Mailbox Counter is Wrong

Kind of strange, if I create a smart mailbox to show, for instance, only emails which have arrived today, the counter at the top of the box is wrong. For instance, at the top it says "(4 messages)" but there are only 2 messages in the window.
I tried rebuilding my Inbox, Trash and Sent boxes but that didn't make a difference. (Although I did get a very strange result from the rebuilding... hundreds of emails I long ago moved to other boxes for storage, or deleted, were restored and marked as unread. As a result I don't want to try that again.)
Message counts in other non-smart mailboxes, ie, Inbox, are correct.
    Any thoughts?
    thanks, Paul D.

Got from other post the following instructions. After following these steps my problem is solved. Hope this works for all of you:
    Quit Mail if it’s open.
In ~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData, delete any file that begins with “Envelope Index,” such as Envelope Index or Envelope Index-shm.
Your home Library folder is hidden by default. To display it, choose Finder > “Go to Folder” and then enter “~/Library.”
    Open Mail.
Mail creates new Envelope Index files. This process may take a few minutes, depending on how many messages Mail is reindexing.

  • Something with the counter is wrong.

    Hello,
I'm using LastFM and I have got an IPod Nano 4G.
So I have got the chance to transfer the played tracks to my LastFM profile.
But something is wrong with the counter in ITunes. In Generel the counter shows the played tracks from my IPod, but now it has changed.
When I connect my Ipod to my computer it's showing the number in the counter short but after my iPod has been detected and everything is synchronized, etc. the new plays in the counter are erased so I can also not transfer the played tracks to my profile. Sometime it works and the counter shows some numbers.
    reinstalled it etc. need help!

    Hello Kasim13
    here are 2 ideas :
    1) the 74ls90 has 2 reset inputs (R01 + R02)
    2) Self resetting the counter is good. But there is a reason for connecting QA to InB !
    +edit:
sorry, maybe the way of 2) is not workung with 74ls90, I should also read the manual
    -edit
Take a look at the datasheet :  http://www.cs.smith.edu/~thiebaut/270/datasheets/sn74ls90rev5.pdf  (page 2!)

  • IBooks Author seems to have stopped counting words at a bit under 20,000.  Page count is wrong too.  Anyone else seen this or know what's wrong?

I believe I'm updated to the latest version of iBooks Author, and have crossed over 20,000 words on my book, and it seems to be stuck at 19,267 words.  My page count is up to 91 but iBooks Author says 85 (that one is easier to verify, but word count simply isn't moving at this point.  I browsed a bit but didn't find the issue reported elsewhere.  Is there perhaps an option I'm missing or something?  It seemed to be just fine, and when I got things transferred from Pages the word count was at least similar to what it was so I think it's been working.

Fabe, thanks for asking clarifying questions. Inspector in iBooks Author tells me there are 85 pages, and the page count next to the thumbnails tells me a different number, saying the last page is 91.  That is not including front matter so, yes, there are more pages.  In fact, many more since there is a quite a bit more white space in the iBooks version.  As for word count and being able to enter more text, I really didn't notice that the word count was not changing until I had checked back several times and noticed it hadn't crossed over 20,000 words and then noticed that the number looked awfully familiar.  In my case, it certainly seems to be stuck at 19.267 words, and I don't see any other negative effects.

  • ITunes play counts are wrong. How can this be fixed?

I like managining my play counts, since I use a couple of smart playlists based on playcounts. However, I have this issue that I can't honestly seem to find a resolution to online. I see users with this problem, but no resolutions. Whenever I have to sync my iphone to itunes, it ends up jumbling up my play counts for some reason.
Example: If I have song A, that I've played 5 times previously. I play it 3 times, then sync my iphone, it'd end up with 13 plays (5 plays previous, then 5 plays again, plus the three extra plays.) I'll have song B, with 0 plays. I play it twice, sync again, and get 0 plays for the song.
Can this be fixed? I want song A to have 8 plays in iTunes/iphone, and song B to have 2 plays. This does not make any sense. I'm confused. I've heard it started with iTunes 8, but I can't downgrade since my iphone is on the latest firmware.

What should be happening is that each time you sync the device the number of plays made on the device since the last sync are added into iTunes as a global record. This system should be able to accurately support multiple devices. Because smart playlists can use play count as a parameter the devices must record both the current "total" and "device" play counts.
The first suggested fix for anything a bit random like this is to restore the device in the hope that it will just go away.

  • Segment Count is wrong in Oracle B2B

    Hi,
    Greetings to B2B Gurus!!!
We are processing 810 invoice files for one of customer and facing an issue with Segment Count (SE01). When i process the files via B2B, payload message is failed with validation error. If i remove validation check, EDI file got generated without any issues. Please find the sample edi file that got generated.
Total Number of Lines from SE-ST = 30 but the value shows 38.

    Hi Saravana,
Are you passing the segment count from from back-end or you are using segment count macro in the EDI XML so that B2B can generate the count for you?
When i process the files via B2B, payload message is failed with validation error. If B2B is generating segment count, then this might be the reason behind incorrect count. May I know exactly what validation error do you get?

  • [BO XI 3.0] view document instances count is wrong

If a user does not have the "View document instances" right and there are schedules set up for a particular report to go to other users then the count showing in InfoView is not zero, it counts all the recurring and successful instances even though that user cannot see them!
I can't see this mentioned in fixed issues manuals for FP1, FP2 or FP3, and I can't find a fixed issues manual for BO XI 3.1
What we want to happen is when a report is scheduled back to default destination ( i.e. public folders ) then we give the users the "View document instances" right and then the instances count would alert them to click the "view latest instance" option rather than just double clicking as they used to do in V5.1.9, but given that it counts other users schedules as well then that does not seem to be much use to alert users
I know there is a global option to "open latest instance" but that fails because if there is not a latest instance then it does nothing when you double click
anybody got any ideas about this?
    regards
    Andrew Dale
