Attachments given in the portal to be stored in R'3

Question

Hi,
We have a requirement, where the user will be attaching an attachment of  any type ( like JPEG, PDF, DOC, XLS etc) and that needs to be stored / handled in R/3. And it should be shown later.
Is anyone have any idea how to handle this?
I came to know from portal person that they can send the file in binary format and the file type too. After that how can I save it in R/3?
Please note that I'm a ABAP programmer.

Hello,
I was facing the same problem on a project. Here is the solution we took :
_ In a SAP BAPI, you add an import type XSTRING. This import will receive the file in binary.
_ From this Import, use 2 fonction modules : SCMS_XSTRING_TO_BINARY and then C13Z_RAWDATA_WRITE.
SCMS_XSTRING_TO_BINARY will rebuild the file from XSTRING to the original BINARY format :
  CALL FUNCTION 'SCMS_XSTRING_TO_BINARY'
    EXPORTING
      buffer          = i_file => Xstring BAPI Import
      append_to_table = 'X'
    IMPORTING
      output_length   = wv_filelength => used in the next call function
    TABLES
      binary_tab      = wt_data_tab => The binary table you'll use in the next CALL FUNCTION
Then, C13Z_RAWDATA_WRITE will write the file in the specific folder in SAP :
  CALL FUNCTION 'C13Z_RAWDATA_WRITE'
    EXPORTING
      i_file           = wv_file_appl => Destination folder (such as /data/win/xxx/yyy.txt )
      i_file_size      = wl_filelength => coming from the previous function
      i_lines          = wv_lines => Number of lines of binary_tab
    TABLES
      i_rcgrepfile_tab = wt_data_tab => coming from the previous function
    EXCEPTIONS
      no_permission    = 1
      open_failed      = 2
      OTHERS           = 3.
