ATV can't see my second computer

Win XP and Itunes 10 on my both computers. The account is also the same.
I just got AppleTV and its shows the content of my library on my laptop, but refuses to show my second computer.
Strangely, each computer sees the other's library.
I've open the necessary ports on the firewall.

I have an iMac and a Mac Mini. Both are running the latest OS and iTunes. Since I got my atv 2nd generation nothing works right. The atv worked the first time I turned it on, meaning it could see my Mac Mini (our media server). Then it stopped working. I can stream from Netflix but atv can't stream from the Mac Mini. I spent 3 hours on the phone with tech support at Apple. They were stumped. Finally we unplugged and rebooted my Airport X, Time Capsule, Computers, and atv. Then it worked. However, this morning my atv can no longer see my Mac Mini. Mac Mini and iMac can see each other's libraries but can't access them. Atv can't see any of my computers. Home sharing is turned on, on everything with the same account. What's going on?? Any ideas?

    Hi Arno ten Hagen,
To check for activation you need to go to all the machines in which you have installed CC apps, launch any of the CC software, go to help and you will see the email address mentioned by which you are logged in to that machine.

  • I can´t authorize my second computer or my ebook. i get the message adobe ID already use my another

i can´t neighter authorize my second computer nor my ebook on ADE. i get the messade Adobe ID already use my another computer or ebook.
how can i authorize an other computer or my ebook?

The system sometimes gets confused.  Try explicitly deauthorizing the computer (ctrl-shift-D to ADE) and the device (ctrl-shift-E to ADE when the device is plugged in).
Restart ADE, and see if the authorization can work any better.
You have a maximum of 6 computers/devices for an ID.  Maybe with old devices you are trying to get more than 6?
If so, you must contact Adobe service (live chat is easiest http://www.adobe.com/support/chat/ivrchat.html ) and ask them to deauthorise all devices.
You should then be able to reauthorise those computers/devices you still need.

  • I can't autorize a second computer!

Hello. I have been trying to autorize a new computer. I had only autorized another one. When I want to play te songs it says I must autorize the computer. I autorize it putting my user name and password, then it says that this is the second computer I have autorized, so everything seems to work, but then, when I want to play the song IT TELLS ME AGAIN THAT IT IS NOT AUTORIZED!
I have tryied closing, restarting, going to the menu Store/autorize the computer... I have done everything... but it just doesn´t work!
    what can I do??
    Thanks for your help

Make sure you're using the iTunes Store account under which the tracks were purchased. Often people forget that some tracks were purchased from a different account. Select a track that won't play, Get Info (under the File menu), and it will show you the account name through which it was purchased. Make sure that's the account ID and password you're using to authenticate.
    Hope this helps.

  • "Seeing" a second computer in a network.

I have created a network using an Apple Time Capsule.  I have 2 notebooks (pc based) that are both able to access my network.  However, when I attempt to access the notebooks from my network i can only "see" one of them.  When I try to connect to them using the GO, Connect to server drop down menu only one of the computers appears.  I would like to be able to access both of them.

OK, so again, let's go one step at a time...First the Time Capsule.  The settings you need are here (circled in red - you can ignore the rest of my settings), and this is on my older 2008 TimeCapsule so it should be the same as yours, I think.
On the iMac, are you able to find the WINS settings tab after clicking the "Advanced" button in the Network Preference Pane?
It should have the same name as the workgroup name in the Time Capsule (I'm at work so my Airport settings are disabled).
I don't have a VM up and running to get Windows 7 screenshots, but from what you've said, I take it you are more familiar with Windows anyway...if so, configure the Windows machines to use the same workgroup (if not, I'll take screenshots later).
This should at least get you to the point where the machines can "see' each other, either in the Finder sidebar on the iMac or in "My Network Places" in Windows.  Once you're at that point I guess we can see if sharing is working.

  • Can't See My Second HD

My new mac pro is suppose to have two HDs but i only see one on my desktop. I went into my Activity Monitor and it shows that there are two. Does anyone know how i can display the other HD on my desktop?

Open up the computer and slide HD's out and slide back in. Swap them between their respective trays. See what that does. Maybe even put them in Bay 3 or 4.

  • Can't add a second computer to Time Capsule, not enough space

I have a 500 GB Time Capsule and two macs (IMac and Macbook) that I would like to back up. My IMac is backed up, but every time I try and back up the mac book, it tells me I don't have enough space. I have read about deleting individual back ups on time capsule (I have some going back to August), but I figured there has to be an easier/quicker way. What are my other options? Are there settings I can change were it will allow me to back up the macbook as well without going in and individually deleting files off the time capsule? There is only about 30 GB of info on the macbook and 100 GB of info on the Imac so I should have more than enough storage.

Time Machine will, by design, fill up all the empty space available to it before it starts deleting old backups to make room for new ones. That's most likely what's happened to you.
One option is to delete a large number of the oldest backups via the procedure in #12 of the Frequently Asked Questions *User Tip,* also at the top of the +Time Machine+ forum. Note that you'll have to manually compact the sparse image to actually get the space back, as detailed in the pink box there.
The other is to erase the entire HD and let TM start over with both Macs (I'd be inclined to do the initial full backups one at a time, via Ethernet).
Use the +*Airport Utility+* app, in your Applications/Utilities folder.
Select +*Base Station > Manual Set-Up+* from the Menubar, then Disks in the tool Bar, then Erase.
If you have other data there that you want to keep, you should be able to delete the sparse bundle via the Finder.

  • Can't see files on one computer

This isn't a linksys issue, but likley one with my old computer.
On my new one, connected to a WRT54GC I'm running XP Home, I can see the old computer, but can't access it. On the old one, also running XP home and connected with a wireless linksys USB adapter, I can see the new computer and can access the files I have set to share.
I have run the wizard on the old one several (I mean SEVERAL) times. I still had to manually set up files for sharing, and I see the little hand under the folders I want to share, but I can't see them on the new computer. The old computer has the XP firewall turned off.
I see everything I need from the new on the old computer, can print on the printer connected to the new computer, but can't see the old computer in 'my network places'. The EasyLink adviser sees the old computer.
When I view workgroup computers on the new one, and click on the icon for the old computer, I get a message that I might not have permission, but as far as I can tell, permission is set on the old one.
Is there something I'm missing to give the new computer permission to access the old one?

    I'm having this exact issue.
    I have WRT54GC as well.
Two old desktop computers (win XP Home) are running on a wired connection, one (new) wireless laptop (win XP Media). All are connected to internet no problem, but none can see each other. I have run the network setup wizard several times on both desktops. It seems successful, but then I cannot view workgroup computers and I cannot print to network printers. "Improper permissions."
What is going on here and how can i fix it?

  • One computer can't see any other iPhoto shared libraries

My Powerbook can't see any other computer's shared iPhoto libraries. However, all my other computers can see its iPhoto library.
All computers are running the same version of iPhoto.
I posted this in the iPhoto forum, but I'm reasonably sure this is a networking problem. Why? If I create another user on my Powerbook, it can see all the other shared libraries. So, the problem exists on only one account on one computer. I think there is a corrupt system setting in that account's ~/Library/ somewhere. Any suggestion which file it is? I've already dragged out likely culprits to no avail.
I have no problem sharing iTunes libraries; that works fine. So do file transfers to and from.
    Here's what else I've done:
Verified iPhoto Preferences is set to "Look for shared photos" and "Share my photos" (obviously).
Tried requiring a password, and not requiring a password
Verified System Preferences > Sharing > Firewall has "iPhoto Bonjour Sharing" checked.
    Deleted ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iPhoto.plist
    Deleted ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.systempreferences.plist
    Deleted ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iApps.plist
    Deleted ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.digihub.plist
    Turned off Little Snitch
Quit / restarted iPhoto a few times
Logged in / out, rebooted a few times
    Researched iPhoto Help
    Researched the discussion boards
Repaired permissions on both (as you can see, I'm resorting to voodoo tactics)
Dragged my iPhoto Library out of ~/Pictures and created a brand new empty library (more voodoo)
    Googled the problem
    Posted this topic
That's all I can think of to do.
    So... what haven't I done?

If iPhoto works for one user on a computer, it ought to work for all users. So the program itself can't possibly be a problem. Right?
Apparently not. I deleted iPhoto, and reinstalled it. That fixed the problem for the one recalcitrant account.
The problem with voodoo is that sometimes, it works.

  • Can't see my computer on apple TV

    Hi
I can’t see anymore my computer on my apple TV. Home sharing is turned on, on both with the same account, they are both connected to the LAN but I can’t see my computer on the Apple TV2 and therefore can’t use it to stream music.
    any clue?
    thnks

    arrrrgghhhhh!!!!!!
    it has disapeared again.
reading other threads it seems to be related to the last itunes upgrade to 10.2.2 some people have downgrade to 10.2.1 .
that’s a pain in ***, I guess I’ll wait for apple to find a fix. the should be more careful now that some devices are linked together. changes you make on one can have effect on others so testing must be wider.
    regards

  • Home network - can't see shared computer in Finder

I set up a home network between my macbook (leopard) and macmini (10.4) but can't see the shared computer tab in the Finder, could it be beacuase a don't have leopard on the macmini?
I guess I'm missing a trick. Can anybody help?
    Thanks

I can no longer see my MacPro from my MBP in the
    finder's "Network" window.
I can still connect using "Connect to Server" and
    typing the IP manually.
From the MacPro I can see the MBP just fine.
I repaired permission, ran cocktail etc...
    Any ideas?
Apple uses a service called "Bonjour" to discover devices on a network. Bonjour piggybacks on the mDNS service, meaning it broadcasts on port 5353. Apple is sensitive to being called "chatty", because it's past device discovery methods were indeed chatty. Bounjour has built in some passivity, and devices will delay their broadcasts if logic detects they're not needed. Sometimes all it takes is clicking on the Network tab.
It all boils down to 1 of 3 things:
    1) The MacPro is not sending out Bonjour discovery packets.
    2) The MacPro is sending out Bonjour discovery packets, but the discovery packets are not reaching the MBP. This is highly doubtful, since the process is working in the opposite direction.
    3) The packets reach the MBP but it's not responding to them.
There's a great (and free) utility called Bonjour Browser, and it's available on versiontracker. If you run it on the MBP, you'll have a much better ideas as to what's happening.
My best guess is that the MacPro is not sending out packets. This would either be due to not having anything to share (File Sharing turned off) or logic which dictates that it's been sending out these packets for a long time so they're delayed for 30 minutes to reduce chattiness.
