Audigy 2: Connecting Desktop to TV to Watch DV

My goal is to hook up my desktop system to my television to view DVD's. My PC?has the Sound Blaster Audigy 2 sound card and I would like to know what type of wire/cable I need to hook up from my Audigy 2 card to my television to hear the DVD. The PC also has a video card with a S-video (TV out). The television has the following RCA connections: Video-In (yellow), Left Audio-In (white), Right Audio-In (red); and Left Audio-out (white), Right Audio-out (red) along with an S-video Input. In addition, How do find out if I have the most up to date drivers, software, etc., to be sure I receive the best quality? If you need additional information, please let me know. Thank you for your assistance.Message Edited by digmedia on 2-9-200605:39 PM

When requesting assistance, please provide the complete model name and/or product number of the HP computer in question. HP/Compaq makes thousands of models of computers. Without this information it may be difficult or impossible to assist you in resolving your issue.
The above requested information can be found on the back or bottom of your computer, or on the startup BIOS screen. Please DO NOT include your serial number. Please enter the model/product information into HP's Online Consumer Support page and post it here for our review.
Most likely your computer doesn't have any video output and will require the use of a USB-to-video adapter, such as the EVGA UV Plus+ UV39.
If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

  • Adobe Connect Desktop App

    Hi,
This is probably a simple fix for someone in Adobe. I'm trying to download the latest Adobe Connect Desktop Application for Windows.
The download link keeps going to connectusers.com which is down for reasons known.
Is there another link to download from?
    Thanks

Just sharing a quick search tip to help in the future.
I just ran this search query https://www.google.com/search?q=adobe+connect+desktop and the description of the second search result is "Adobe Connect Desktop. This AIR-based application helps meeting hosts quickly manage and edit their meetings from their desktop. Hosts can also access ..."
In case you get stuck while searching, you can always use the search keyword 'site' (read here) to narrow down your search to adobe.com like this.

  • Adobe Connect Desktop - just doesn't download recordings any more...

    Hi all,
Has anyone had issues since the upgrade of this?
I have made the recordings downloadable in all places thru the adobce connect admin area, but when using the desktop client evcewn though i am able to search for the file i am not however able to download it.
The recording does appear in the download queue but does not initiate. This is just unacceptable.
Part of the service is to be able to playback the meeting recordings and while i know i can do this online, it would also be useful to USE ADOBE'S PRODUCTS TO VIEW ADOBE'S BESPOKE RECORDINGS (Since they are not available in any other downloadable format, wouldn't midn so much if it just worked for once without issues.)
Add this to the whole "Adobe Presenter - the worlds most unstable and bugged out piece of software ever"
Come on Adobe, whats happening to your stuff?!?

Adobe Connect Desktop is no longer supported with Connect 9. However, it should still work. Also, be sure that the recording has been set to allow local downloads.

  • Adobe Connect Desktop local Folder???

    Hi,
I'm running Adobe Connect Desktop on Mac, and I've already one recordings in Zip.
I would like to see this recording using the Adobe Connect Desktop offline function, the problem is that I can't find/define the folder where to put the Zip file.
    Can anyone help.
    Regards

Enabling this feature takes a couple steps, but once it is done, you should be able to download the recordings for offline viewing.
First, go to Administration > Compliance and Control > Recordings and Notice and check the box to Allow for distribution of local copies of recordings to end users
Next browse to the desired recording(s) and go to the Edit Information page. This is done through the Edit Information if the recording is in the Content library, or by selecting the recording name and then the Edit link in the Recording Information header (not the Edit Recording button). Check the box for Allow Users to download copy to local device
Now in Connect Desktop, you will see the Fetch button for recordings that are set up to allow local downloads.

  • Connect iphone to smarttv for watching videos and pictures

Trying to connect iphone to LGsmarttv for watching videos and pictures. We are on the same WIFI, pictures I can see, but no videos .... Do I need apple tv or an app ..

I do not fully understand all of the ins and outs of iCloud either. I use iCloud in very "limited doses".  The greatest feature of iCloud - IMO - is that you can download purchased content again at no charge as long as you use the same Apple ID. There are some limitations based on where you live - but in the U.S - all of this is available to you.
I also use iCloud to back up my Pages documents and currently only the Apple iWorks suite of apps, pages, Numbers and Keynote, can make use of this feature of iCloud - As far as I know.  The changes that I make on the documents will sync to my iPod Touch and I can download the documents from my iCloud.com account in order to work on them on my Mac. Revise them on the Mac, upload to my account again - and they appear on the iPad and the Touch with revisions in place.
iCloud is still in its infancy, and even if it was "foolproof" or as foolproof as anything can be, I would never count on the cloud only to store my important files. I still backup to iTunes on my Mac and I backup my Mac with Time Machine. The use of iTunes is simply the vehicle through which all of your purchased content can be transferred to your computer for safe keeping. iTunes will store your media, apps and photos - and the backup process using iTunes - provides a way to save your settings, app data, camera roll photos, bookmarks, - in essence - the "stuff" that your apps produce - if that makes sense to you.
Read this to learn more about iCloud. This is covers everything from soup to nuts. The articles contain links to other articles with more information as well. You may even want to peruse the iCloud forum for more information.

  • Why do I loss internet connections at frequent intervals while watching netflix moviesx

I have airport express which serves as wireless connection to my tv to watch netflix movies.I have roku xd as a streamer. At almostevery 7-10 minutes, I loss connection to the internet interrupting my movies . This happens at least 9 times thru a period of 1 hr. watch. Any thoght on this.

I would suspect inadequate bandwidth as the most likely reason ... and potentially Wi-Fi interference as the most likely culprit that is causing it.
Have you done any data transfer rate measurements on your local network or checked for any type of Wi-Fi interference that may be present in the area that may be preventing the 802.11n AirPort Express Base Station (AXn) from providing a clean signal to the Roku & TV?
Is the AXn the only wireless router in your local network?

  • HT1657 Do I need to be connected to the internet to watch a rented movie once it is downloaded?

If I rent a movie from iTunes and I download it to my phone. Do I need to be connected to the internet to watch the movie?

Some posts have suggested that you need to be online when starting to watch the film - so if you want to watch it somewhere where you won't have internet then you could watch a few seconds of the film when you do (you have 24 hours if you are in the US, 48 hours elsewhere, from when you start watching a rental until it expires)

  • Problem launching BB connect desktop

    Hello all,
I have trouble launching the BB connect desktop.
When I double click on the icon I just get the message "the account is not correctly set up in the server, please contact your system administrator", and the programs gets closed.
I therefore do not have chace to chage any configartion on the program and I don't know what causes this problem
I am using a computer connected to the corporate lan and we use enterprise server.
Can someone please tell me how to solve this problem?
    Thanks!!

Well I had the same problem in Duch the message was "Geen berichtenopslagplaatsen beschikbaar" . I have deinstalled all my BlackBerry software including old versions of DM via: start, configure and software. Reboot your PC. Download DM 5.01, reinstlalled it, reboot and via DM you search for the latest update via "Update software" and then I could reconnect to MS Outlook 2010 callender and contacts.

  • HT1657 Do I have to connected to the Internet to watch a rental movie

Do I have to connected to the Internet to watch rental movies?

As long as the film has been fully downloaded then you should be able to watch it without being online.

  • I have macbookpro 13". How do I connect it to HDTV to watch movies, hulu etc?

  • Can I view a video from my macbook pro on my TV using apple TV while doing something else on the laptop desktop? I.E. watch a video on the tv, while searching the web on the laptop screen?

First off, I just want to clarify that I know how to view my macbook screen, videos, music, photos etc. through the apple tv connected to my hdtv. What I'm trying to do is use it like a second monitor. For example, I'd like to watch a video from the web through the apple tv on the hdtv screen, while simultaneously able to search and use the laptop like I normally would. I know there are two desktops with Mountain Lion, but I haven't been able to figure out how to link one to the apple tv and leave the other as the macbook. I know I've done this before when I had a macbook 13" and a cable connector, there was a setting in system preferences to view one screen (tv) with a video, and then still have the macbook screen free to search for files, the web, etc.... This is different from mirroring, but I haven't located this setting on the new macbook yet.
Ideally I'd like to be able to use my hdtv as a second monitor so I can be sorting and organizing photo files on the macbook, while viewing full size high resolution images on the TV screen. I've got a ton of photographs, close to a personal library you could ask me for a type of photo and I've probably got it, but there is a decent amount of extras, doubles, and just stuff I don't need. This would really help me get organized and allow me to share my work a little bit more efficiently.
I appreciate any insights and hope I can return the favor.
    Much Love
    Soulprogression

I do not know how to do this with an Apple TV (I don't have one), but as far as I know Apple TV only does mirroring.
If you have an HDMI cable long enough to reach your TV from where you sit, then it's easy. The TV could be set up in Extended Desktop mode (mirroring off) as if it was simply another computer monitor, and then you could just drag windows to it. If you have the Displays icon in your menu bar, that's where the setting is, or if the icon is not there, then the setting is in the Displays system preference. But again, that's for conventionally connected monitors, not Apple TV. If you don't have an HDMI cable and wanted a long one that's affordable you can get those at monoprice.com.
The answer we are still waiting for is if anyone knows if Apple TV can be used in extended desktop (non-mirroring) mode.

  • Rented movie on my desktop and want to watch on my laptop

I just wanted to clarify a movie rental issue.
I keep my iTunes library on an external HDD so I can use it with either my MacBook Pro or G4 MDD as needed, wired or wirelessly. Last night I rented a movie that I downloaded through iTunes on my G4 MDD which was connected directly to the HDD. After it was done, I closed iTunes on my G4 then wirelessly connected to the HDD from my MacBook, started iTunes and tried to watch the rented movie only to find that I could not because the MacBook was not authorized.
I haven't found this specific issue covered, but from what I've been able to gather here and elsewhere online, there is probably no way around this.
Has anyone else had this issue and been able to figure out how to watch a rented movie on a laptop that you downloaded on a desktop or vice versa?
    Thank you,
    Todd

You can have the rented movie on only one device at a time.
    Did you authorize you MacBook?
You also need to be connected to the Internet as I remember to watch a rented movie.

  • Cannot connect desktop (wired) & laptop (wireless)

I've been at this for days, scoured much info and many threads, and tried many things; so I could go on and on for days about all I've found and tried.  I'll try to be concise, but I also want to be thorough.  Every other forum I’ve posted in has asked the same questions, so I’m just going to try to get it all out there right off the bat.  I apologize if I come off as curt.  I’m usually good for some laughs, but I’ve been at this for way too long and am feeling pretty deflated.
GOAL:  Achieve connectivity between my desktop and my new T520 - be able to swap files without fumbling thumb drives or emailing myself.
    SYSTEM SPECS:
       Desktop
self built: AMD Phenom II X4 3.4GHz
    Mobo: Gibabyte GA-890GPA-UD3H
    network adapter:  Realtek RTL8168D/8111D
    running Windows 7 Professional
       Laptop
    Lenovo T520
network adapter:  Intel Centrino Advanced N 6205
    running Windows 7 Home Premium
       Router
    Belking F5D8231-4  version 3000
    SUMMARY OF EFFORTS THUS FAR:
    Firewalls:  Windows & router disabled
    Anti-virus:  (AVG) disabled, then uninstalled
    Network adaptor drivers: updated
    Router firmware: updated
Router has been restored to factory settings
Power cycles performed multiple times at various points
Tried static ip addresses (presently set to dynamic) - shared ip addresses not the cause
Sharing options have been enabled both in general network settings and specific folders
Pinging results in either "Request timed out."  or  "Destination host unreachable."
My network is designated a "Home network"
Neither machine is connected to multiple networks
Both machines are assigned to same Workgroup: tried changing from generic "WORKGROUP" to custom name to isolate my machines from rommie's
Relevant services I've been told to check and confirmed started:
                             - DHCP Client
                             - Computer Browser
                             - Network Location Awareness
                             - Remote Procedure Call (RPC)
                             - Server
                             - TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper
                             - Workstation
                             - Peer Networking Grouping
                             - PNRP Machine Name Publication Service
Under Local Area Network Status I've noticed that IPv4 shows connectivity to internet, but IPv6 says "No Internet Access" - disabling IPv6 has no effect
When I create a Windows Homegroup on one machine, an invite to join is never extended to the other.
I installed TeamViewer as alternative to Homegroup.  After setup, the program claims to have a working connection, but any attempt to access the other gives an error.
Now, the name of my laptop will sometimes appear under Explorer>>Network, but clicking on it gives an error message (can't think what it says & the laptop isn't visible right now); while my laptop has never shown my desktop.  However, if I hardline my laptop to the router, suddenly the two are best friends - connecting, accessing folders, swapping files, trading recipes, sharing steamy cups of Maxwellhouse International Cafe.
Does anybody have any insights into this situation?  Any suggestions would be appreciated.  I’ve wondered if perhaps there was some pre-installed Lenovo software that interferes with networks the way firewalls or anti-virus programs can?  I've tried calling both Belkin and Lenovo tech support - played their little choose your own adventure games.  Belkin's final word is that its a software issue.  I'm at a complete loss.
I'm always asked for ipconfig and ping results at some point, so I'll go ahead and post them below.  I've also found some errors in Administrative Events on both machines that may provide clues:
Dhcp-Client (both)   -   The IP address lease 192.168.2.2 for the Network Card with network address 0x6CF049E337F0 has been denied by the DHCP server 192.168.2.1 (The DHCP Server sent a DHCPNACK message).
bowser (desktop)   -   The master browser has received a server announcement from the computer GLADOS that believes that it is the master browser for the domain on transport NetBT_Tcpip_{4F23028C-E9A3-47B6-94A5-025192E2DBE0}. The master browser is stopping or an election is being forced.
BROWSER (laptop)   -   The browser service has failed to retrieve the backup list too many times on transport ....  The backup browser is stopping
I don't really know much about Windows services and events, but they sound like they could be related, and they're the only lead I have to work right now.
