Hi i have a Audigy 4 Pro card and MSI KT600 Delta motherboard that have a broadcom 5788 LOM but after a few minutes after bootup my sound card block the network but i get the status that i have connection and all.
I have tried to update BIOS, all drivers that can be found to the motherboard, Changed PCI slot and tried to force all free IRQs but no results. So anyone that have a clue how to fix this would be great

  • Audigy 2 pro and ATI HDTV Won

I just recently purchased an ATI HDTV Wonder. I want to have audio coming in directly through the Optical SPDIF input on the IO Hub on my Audigy 2 Pro while the video is coming in through the HDTV Wonder card.
What I am noticing is a slight audio sync issue. I think this is a known issue, is there a work around or how can this be corrected?
    Dan

If you are just surfing then just put the cards in and that would be it. If you are not using the built in tuner then don't worry about the extra wiring. You might want to return that nice video card and get your cash back and buy a cheapie instead

  • No audio in Windows 7 64bit with Audigy 4 Pro and Inspire 7.1 speakers

Hi, this is my first post in this forum. This issue is killing me?
    Configuration:
    Intel Core i7 920 2.66Ghz
    DDR3 600Mhz PC2800 6GB Corsair XMS3 Classic CL9 Skt366
    Samsung TB HD03SJ 7200rpm 32MB Spinpoint F3
    Mobo ASUS 366 P6T SE
New Windows 7 installation, no upgrade, so everything?s new. Realtek HD integrated audio chipset works fine, so the speakers are ok. Obviously I want my 2005 Audigy 4 back, especially for its external box.
I can't get any audio out of my speakers, zero, nothing, nada. Windows 7 recognizes it and if I run the control panel?s tests the equalizer shows that music is playing but still I won?t ear a single note.
    I tried everything:
-I checked Windows mixer, the output was correct and no ?mute? was selected, no SPDIF, no optical etc etc
    -I deactivated the Realtek
-I tried to put the Audigy in different PCI slots?
-I tried the latest Creative drivers?
    -I tried unofficial drivers?
    What should I do now?
    Maybe I could try:
-Updating the mobo bios. I don?t really want to do it unless it'ss absolutely necessary. My mobo is quite new anyway and from its bios updates I can't see nothing related to pci slots or audio issues.
-Playing around with the drivers: maybe I?m wrong, but I?suspect that, while installing creative drivers, every time I restart the system Windows 7 re-check the audio card and puts its Creative Audigy WDM? driver. I?m not too sure about this: from Windows device manager it seems that the drivers are updated and running.
    Any ideas?

    JProblem solved.
Apparently there was a clash between Windows 7 driver (?) and the one from Creative.
I had to use a specific software in order?to delete creative drivers and software.
After the erase of every piece of junk I could install creative official drivers.
Audio playback is fine, still I have s?to test recording...

  • Audigy 4 Pro and Logitech z-5500 5.1 speak

    Hey ppl
I'm thinking of getting those two. I've heard there is an incompatibility issue with a digital connection between them, buts as I'm not interested in a digital connection, will an analog connection? I suppose the PCI or the hub has the required outputs ( left front/back, right front/back ? center/sub) for 5. analog.

I test it on clean install win xp sp2. The sound seems to bo ok but no logo. Do i have to enable cmss?
    Please help.
    Thank you
P.S sorry for my bad english.Message Edited by ASTRAPI on 06-2-2005 0:30 AM

CMSS is an effect used for stereo sounds, to emulate surround sound for them. It has no effect on the DVDs you're playing as you're just outputting the AC3 signal so the speakers can decode it.
If you're using a digital connection, then CMSS will not have any effect for other sound either, you need to connect through multiple analog connections to get that sound. A standard digital connection (coaxial and optical SPDIF) can only pass over either a stereo PCM signal, or an encoded AC3 stream (like on your DVDs). Normal sound like music or games will only be passed over as stereo PCM, so there is no CMSS effect there.
If you can connect your amplifier through several analog connections, then you can use CMSS aswell, otherwise your amplifier might have it's own upmix option like ProLogic.

  • Audigy 4 Pro - Remote Contr

Hey,?I've got an Audigy 4 Pro card which i've had from new since 2005.However, i've only ever had the remote control working once, around about the time i first installed the card. Since then it's not worked. I'm currently running the latest drivers and mediasource 5, and still not getting remote control. I've been told i need Creative Media Centre, and i need to enable the remote, but A) i dont know where to get media centre since it's not on the downloads site for the Audigy 4 Pro. and B) i've tried looking for the "remote control" tab in media source, but to absolutely no avail. Can anyone tell me how i'm supposed to get my remote control working again? please?Martin

Entertainment Center is most likely found in the installation CD (X:\Audio\EntCntr\), I don't know if the A4Pro software can be installed individually, but if?you can't, copy the whole CD to the HDD and then copy engine32.cab from X\Audio\Setup\ to the app installation dir. If you no longer have the installation CD, download the ISO from BadBoy's page. http://badboy.hub.io/?You can try RMX automation, its a free program that lets you configure the buttons in the remote: http://sourceforge.net/projects/rmx/?

  • Audigy 4 Pro - can only get 2 channel sound via SPDIF/optical connecti

I have two PC's, one with an Audigy 4 Pro and one with an Audigy 2 Platinum (A2P), I have my 5. speakers hooked up to the A2P and the A4P connected via the SPDIF to the A2P, I would expect to get 5. - both are setup to use 5. speakers, (I know that as a standard Digital coax/optical connections should handle multi speaker configs my entire A/V sound system (7. Dolby) uses optical and coax and it works fine).
If I run the channel test on the Audigy 4 I can get nothing but sound through the left and right speakers, if I run the test on the Audigy 2 (speakers direct connected) the sound is fine, if I reconnect the speakers to my Audigy 4 I get sound on all speakers so it looks like its an issue with the SPDIF and optical inputs (I tried both).
I have emailed tech support, I'm waiting for them to come back and tell me that the Audigy 4 cannot transmit more than two channels down the SPDIF/optical outs, thats my suspicion anyway, if that is the case then I'm not going to be a happy man and the Audigy will be going back to the store. Could be a driver problem of course as I cant believe they would implement Dolby and THX and only transmit two channels on the optical outs, that would be a bit dumb considering the primary use for digital connections is sound system interconnects.
Anyone with any ideas about this let me know, perhaps theres a hidden setting somewhere or a registry setting that switches the digital outs to carry all signals.

Just before everyone kicks off, heres a response I got from a tech guy at Creative themselves.
If you connect speakers to your sound card using a digital cable
(RCA/SPDIF or optical) then the software speaker test will only output
from two speakers. The reason for this is that the speaker test signal is
not in AC3 nor DTS format.
The signal on a digital connection is either
Optical SPDIF - which is either Stereo PCM signal or AC-3/DTS Bitstream
RCA SPDIF - which is either Stereo PCM signal or AC-3/DTS Bitstream
If you play AC3 (Dolby Digital) or DTS encoded signals, the amplifier
decodes this and outputs it to all 6 speakers (5 satellites & subwoofer)
    discretely.
When playing back stereo signals (such as Wav/CD Audio or MP3/WMA files)
the amplifier may generate 5. output based on the incoming stereo PCM
signal, provided Dolby Pro Logic decoding is available and activated.
Therefore the speaker test should not be relied on when using RCA or
    Optical digital connections.
This applies to all speaker systems equipped with RCA or Optical digital
    connections.
This makes sense to me and I'm pretty happy with it, basically as the reply says above the speaker test does not encode to AC3 hence if you hook two Audigys together and run the test you only get 2 channel output, if you play a DVD which is AC3/DTS encoded on one Audigy and listen to speakers hooked up to the other when both Audigys are connected via SPDIF or optical you should in theory get full playback on all speakers. Hopefully
    Cheers

  • Audigy 2 ZS and ASIO 24/96

I have seen several posts about how to use ASIO 24/96 driver for Audigy 2 ZS but they are pretty old now and the problem I have experienced is just a few years old.
I used the driver on my old XP 32 bit computer for critical recordings for highest possible quality though it was only possible in Wavelab for single track recording/playback. Running multitrack was too heavy for my computer. I then had a long break from music making and started again a year ago. I couldn?t get that driver work again but didn?t bother much as I didn?t have to record any external audio yet.
Last weekend I upgraded my computer to a quadcore cpu with 6 gig RAM and Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. I can now use ASIO 24/96 and it runs smooth and free from glitches - but it only works for playback. Whatever input I choose all I get is silence. The other two ASIO drivers works though but they cannot record in 24 bit/96 kHz. In worst case I could have used the WDM drivers only for the recording part but those does not work at all at any rate - I get so much dropouts that the recordings are full of "holes".
Has the drivers been changed during the years so actually can't record when using ASIO 24/96 driver? If it wasn?t for the fact that it didn?t work on my XP?system either I would have thought it was a Windows 7 issue.

If I uncheck it, I see no levels, but I hear sound. I cannot record because of this sicne when I hear the sound nothing is getting recorder. I doublechecket everything but I cannot solve the problem. Hmmm.. What the error message says?
Which input source you have selected to record from?
Have you selected the output port(s)?
Are project samplerate and bit-depth set to 24/96?
Does this issue occur when ASIO res is set to 16-bit/48 kHZ?
Is tehere a setting for monitoring on ACID audio/global properties (other than the ON/OFF found on every track)?

  • How to record multiple inputs to separate tracks using an Audigy 4 pro

    Hi,
I've been playing with my Audigy 4 Pro and Cubase LE on my windows XP box (since it ships with the card) and have been reasonably impressed with the results I've been getting (nothing amazing to be sure, but more than enough to amuse me).
However, I'm now at the point where I want to record the mic/line 1, line 2, and line 3 inputs all to separate tracks in Cubase LE. I'll be ****ed if I can figure out how to do it.
I've got jacks going into the front of the external Audigy 4 (into all the inputs) but I can't find any option anywhere that will allow me to select multiple recording inputs at the same time. From all of the reading I've been doing it looks like I need to do some ASIO configuration somewhere so that Cubase LE will give me some more VST input mappings.
So firstly, I guess is what I'm trying to do possible with the Audigy 4 Pro and Cubase LE?
If it is possible, what do I do to enable the additional inputs? I seem to have been through all the possible programs and configuration screens at least three times over and am now completely stuck.
Any help, thoughts, pointers, step by step instructions would be greatly appreciated.

    Entrop1cLqd,
This is off the top of my head so my memory may be incorrect here but this is what I remember. First off make sure that you have Audigy ASIO or Audigy ASIO 24/96 selected in devices. Then go to VST inputs setup and make sure that they are all active. Note the names in here as that is how the recording is mapped (E.g. if Line In 3 is even with IN 1 then Line In 3 will be recorded from IN 1). Arm the tracks you want to record on and select their recording inputs based on the labels from the VST inputs setup.
    This should get you setup.

  • Audigy 4 Pro Vs. X-Fi XtremeMu

I'm considering buying one of those two cards, and using the Klipsch Pro Media 2. speaker setup with it
I have an Intel Core 2 Duo CPU, GB of RAM, ATi Radeon X800GTO Video Card (unlocked and OCed to specs of X850XT)
Ive been reading about alot of issues people have with the X-Fi, and im wondering if theres really any advantage to the X-Fi over the Audigy 4 Pro? They seem the same (in fact the Audigy 4 Pro seems a bit better) minus weird sound "enhancement" effects
Plus is there really any advantage since i wont be using surround sound? I wont be recording either, my main purposes are music and games. I mainly want my music to sound the best though.
I also have some pretty high end (not the best though) Sennheiser Headphones ill be using sometimes.
Oh and these are the speakers i have now before i get the Klipsch 2. setup http://www.cambridgesoundworks.com/store/category.cgi?category=mul_speakers&item=cmd2ee
im just trying to provide as much info as possible
    thanks for the help

The Audigy 4 Pro uses a higher quality DAC than X-Fi, except for Elite Pro. (Audigy 4 pro and Elite Pro both use CS4398.) However, the Audigy 4 Pro reportedly has a really poor sample rate conversion algorithm that cripples the sound. SRC can not be disabled on the Audigy cards. The X-fi's SRC is supposedly much better, and can be disabled anyhow for certain outputs ('bit-matched playback'). So despite the higher quality DACs, the Audigy 4 Pro is not going to sound as good as the X-fi. I haven't listened to both, so can't directly confirm this.
However, I own X-fi Platinum, and it sounds way better than my previous Audigy 2ZS - the difference is really noticeable. The interesting thing is that the Audigy 2 ZS has exactly the same DAC as the X-fi platinum (CS4382), which seems to lend weight (given the difference in sound quality between the two) to Creative's claims about improved SRC on the X-Fis.
One more note: if you're thinking of an Elite Pro, it's really not worth it if you plan to use headphones out of the break out box. Elite Pro breakout box uses a CS4392 DAC, which is exactly the same as the one in the I/O dri'ves that come with the Fatalty and Platinum. (The higher quality DAC is ony used for the rear analogue outputs.)
Hope this is of some help.Message Edited by frankmcarthur on -06-200605:44 PM

  • Audigy 4 Pro driver and MediaSource iss

Just bought an Audigy 4 Pro card after getting seriously fed up with my old SBLi've 5. card, however I've got quite a few issues with it.
I'm waiting on a response from Creative Support but figured I might check if anyone here can help.
The bundled software with my card was the Audigy 2 ZS CD, and when I tried to install the drivers from that one it said it couldn't find an Audify 2 ZS card on my system and promptly quit.
I tried a few ways to get around it but no luck, so eventually I downloaded the Audify 4 beta drivers (SBA4_BETADRV_US_2_05_0000.exe)from the Creative site.
Those drivers installed and now my system show an Audigy 4 card installed with the following drivers: 5.2.3.00
After installing the MediaSource from the Audigy 2 ZS CD I did not get any EAX control panel, Creative Mixer or Speaker setting though, so basically I'm stuck with nothing but my two front speakers making any sound at all.
    Creative MediaSource version: 2.02.06
If anyone has a suggestion on how to solve this I'd be extremely grateful, because the current situation is quite annoying.

The EAX Console, Speaker Settings and Mixer all came in the product CD. You must install them from the CD.

  • Inspire TD7700 and Audigy 4 Pro connection problem

I have a problem connecting the speaker system Inspire TD7700 with the soundcard SoundBlaster Audigy 4 Pro. The soundcard has a hub that is placed outside the computer, and it is connected to the soundcard inside the computer via two AD_LINK inputs/outputs. The soundcard is also connected to the switch (that was included in the speaker system), in front of the switch (where it says "from pc, input"). The front of the switch is also connected to the sub via something called "To speaker, Output". It is connected to the sub via the audio inputs. The back of the switch is connected to the decoder (DDTS-100, included in the speaker system). The input of the decoder I have used is called "Audio Outputs". The switch is set to "PC - Audio". Both the sub and the decoder is connected to a power supply unit.
My problem is that I can't hear a thing trough the speakers. I can hear sound trough my headphones when I connect the headphones to the sound hub (included with the soundcard). But when I connect my headphones to the decoder, I can't hear a thing.
Can somebody please help me, I really want my new speaker system to work..
    Thank you in advance!
    Mathias

Just click on the one you want to use, and then click on "Set Default", and then you can use it. Here's a hint for you, you do that and your current default (Line-in 3) will become "Currently unavailable". Vista only allows one input and one output device to be acti've at a time, hence why they all say unavailable.

  • Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro and XP

I have Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro and Logitech Z-5300 5. Speakers. When using XP SP, everything worked perfectly, then I upgraded to SP2. It has been a complete multimedia nightmare.
When using the diagnostic tools, each speaker works perfectly except will always have a faded voice to the point where I cannot hear the voice but I can hear something was attempting.
WinAMP or Media player or any other MP3 player to include tools coming with creative labs products, I get music only out of a single (Center) speaker. The rest lay silent. I upgraded my sound card drivers using Creative Lab's website. Any ideas how to get my system back to normal sound quality, as of this moment I am thinking creative lab's products do not work correctly under SP2.
Any help would be appreceated and for the money spent on the card, I kind of expect creative to have a solution.

    Roaming,
Try cleansweeping and reinstalling the sound card. Sometimes after a major update (like a service pack) some hardware or software needs to be reinstalled. Here is a link to the article that describes how to cleansweep your card.

  • Audio latency problem with VST, SONAR and Audigy 4 PRO

    Hello all,
I have a slight problem with audio performance on my computer and I can't isolate what is wrong. I am using Cakewalk SONAR 4 studio edition, and a recently purchased Audigy 4 Pro soundcard. ( I know it's not quite professional grade, but it works well for me) I recently bought some string instruments from the Vienna Symphonic Library. So far, I love the sound of these "virtual instruments" if you will. The problem comes when I try to record them. I get stuttering and dropouts when I try to record the track in Sonar. I've tried the WDM drivers in 16 and 24 bit modes and the ASIO drivers (which apparently only support 16 bit!?) I know Creative has mentioned that these cards can record easily at 24/96 which is what I'd like if possible. Vienna instruments come in a 24 bit format. Is there something I'm doing wrong or do I need to seriously consider a different soundcard? I use Sonar to bring in the Vienna instruments as a VST. I also apply a reverb on it. When I just play this stuff on my MIDI keyboard, it all sounds great and keeps up. The moment I go to record though, I get dropouts after about 15 seconds or so. Also, is there no way to get ASIO 24 bit support for creative's consumer level cards? I'd be happy with the WDM's personally if those would work. I've looked into the KX project as well but haven't had a chance to try their drivers yet. On a different note, what are the significant differences between ASIO and WDM if any at all? (aside from supported bit rates) My current computer setup is quite powerful and I don't use much CPU power at all so I don't think it's my setup. Intel E6700 (2.67Ghz) Core 2 Duo, 2GB DDR2-800, 320GB Seagate SATA in RAID 1, Nvidia 7600GT, and Creative Audigy 4 Pro. Any help, or insight would be greatly appreciated!
    Matthew

Audigy 4 Pro should support 24-bit/96 kHz w/ ASIO --> have you selected those I/O drivers in Sonar audio settings (Options-Audio-Drivers -tab). ! You need to unselect all I/O drivers first to get those 24/96 drivers selectable)?
Dropouts comes from various sources. Have you checked if the read/write caching is set properly (Sonar, try different settings)?
Stuttering may come from shared IRQ/resources and PCI Latency settings.
If your graphics card is not PCIe then, make this registry tweak
Run regedit and search the key named as DisableProgPCILatency
    - set all 'DisableProgPCILatency' key values to 1 (HEX or DEC) (1 = disabled, 0 = enabled)
    - boot to BIOS settings and find the "PCI latency timer" option --> set its value to 32 or 64 (this is global PCI latency setting)
    - reboot
and check the IRQ situation. If there are IRQ shares between Audigy and other devices/controllers, try to get those fixed by disabling unneeded controllers/devices or by moving the Audigy into another PCI slot (PCI slots #3 and #4 are normally not shared).
    Couple meaninful differences between WDM/KS and ASIO are;
    - you can't get latency lower than 10 ms w/ WDM/KS (well, you can in Sonar by manually editing those buffer values but, the result is not good when you go under 10 ms buffer values (buffersize / samplerate * 1000 = latency in ms --> 512/96000*1000=5.33ms)
    and
    - you can record from one stereo (you can split this to two mono) source at a time w/ WDM (recording source is set in CT Surround Mixer (or windows recording controls))
    - ASIO supports (Audigy serie) locked 'resolutions' only - 16/48 or 24/96
Also, tweak your system for music - http://www.musicxp.net/
Some information on CT ASIO -
