Audigy line-in issues
for some reason my mixer thinks that the line in on my audigy card is a mic in. this is a problem because the sound is extremely muffled, even with the 20+ boost turned on. I can't switch it to the mic-in because that creates feedback into my mixer (external mixer for turntables). in the mixer (gnome-alsamixer) i only have a "TriTech TR28602" tab, however on other systems (ubuntu, which i played with for a bit) there would be another tab for the OSS compatibility which is what i used to adjust the volumes and it worked fine.
i followed the instructions of the wiki here and also turned up other volumes since i have surround sound.
snd-emu10k1 and snd-pcm-oss are both loaded by rc.conf (snd-emu10k1 first, then snd-pcm-oss).
any ideas? thanks!

you need to add some options to modprobe.conf for the module, to indicate different line in/out combos

Street line formating issue (number comes before the street name)
Hello everyone,
I have an issue regarding formatting of the street line - when I include an address field (say in Smartforms) the street number comes before the street name. This would be according to USA standards, but I need it to be formatted by the EU standards (street name, and then the number). Also, where ever we have an address attached (SU01, customer/vendor master recs, purchase orders, etc) we get the same issue.
So, now it is: "1234 MyStreetName", but I need it to come as "MyStreetName 1234".
I have tried SA10, SA09, OY01 (and all the other customizing I could find), none of which had worked. The strange thing is that in our IDES system, it is displayed as it should be (name - number).
I can't find where this is preconfigured in IDES, so if anyone can suggest I would be very gratefull + points will be awarded for all the helpfull answers.

When exporting my document (full of graphs and charts) from Microsoft Word 2010 into Acrobat Pro as a PDF, I am having "line weight" issues upon zooming in and out of the document. Depending on whether I zoom in or out and to what extent, lines disappear, become thicker or thinner or criss-cross eachother; There seems to be no "line weight" problems when printing though. Does anyone have an answer?
Try changing the Rendering options on Preferences > Page Display. For example, make sure Smooth line art and Enhance thin lines are checked.
There will be variation in previewing line weight because of the lower resolution of a screen. On the printer, which has higher resolution, you're seeing a more accurate preview of the objects. -
Audigy Line-in Stereo as Mono prob
I have an original Audigy which I am recording stereo through line-in but no matter what recording program or operating system (98SE & Win2000 dualboot) the left and right channels are mixed to mono. They both have the same signal on them. It plays games, music, etc. in stereo just fine. It was working a few days ago so I'm worried the sound card went bad.
I'm I missing something simple? Any thoughts?
-thanks<SPAN>It's a little complicated but I'm using the line-in to record two separate phototransistor voltage changes on two channels but that really is independent of the problem because both the Sound Forge and Sony Audition software left and right channel monitor levels are indicating equal levels even though they are set for 48kHz stereo sampling.<SPAN> It has worked okay for quite awhile before and the input levels are very low so I don?t think it was zapped by high input levels.
<SPAN>I did get it to work momentarily after messing with Dxdiag sound tests and the Audigy control panel speaker tests but after rebooting the computer it was back to no good.
<SPAN>I will have to say that I did install a new motherboard but the drivers are all up to date.
<SPAN>Can this be related to hardware/driver issues? I just assumed that a stereo signal coming into the card and showing up as stereo on the software was a very basic function. -

these are all the same issue and i have the solution for it.
Adobe has once again let down the non professional user but ignoring this bug. They have also deleted alot of my other posts on the adobe forums.. perhaps so you cannot receive help from me?? who freakin knows..
b Problem:
you import your footage and there is no audio in the time line. you see the audio clip there but no information in it. some people say its because of MPEG format but MPEG files works fine in Windows Movie Maker, Ulead, Pinnacle, Sony Vegas.. etc...
let it be known that its an Adobe Premiere issue.
b Solution:
b step 1:
close adobe premiere
b step 2:
open My Computer and go to tools at the top. From the drop down menu go to folder options. In folder options click the view tab. In the advanced settings section where it says 'Hidden files and folders' make sure 'show hidden files and folders' is selected.
b step 3:
open My computer and go to c:\ drive > Documents and settings. Now click into your user name (NOT 'All users') in my case its 'proGamer'. Now click into 'Application Data' > 'Adobe' > 'common' > 'Media Cache Files'.
b step 4:
in this folder find the files you were just trying to import by searching the name. in my case its file: 20081217030338. you will now see 3 different file types with the same file name you were importing: CFA, PEK, MPGINDEX. delete them all!
b step 5:
go back and open adobe premiere, open up your project again and it will automatically recreate those files you just deleted. hopefully correctly.
b NOTE:
If this hasn't worked then open your adobe premiere project, clear all trace of the files with no audio and start again from step 1. then after step 5 just import the files back into your project.
This has proved to work with every file i've imported that had the audio not conformed.
b your second option:
simply play your clip in WMV or VLC or what ever player you use and record the audio in real time in stereo by using some music editing like cubase or logic audio. you can also use something more friendly like 'recordpad' found here: http://www.nch.com.au/recordpad/screenshots.html now you can buy it from these guys or get it how ever else you like

I've read plenty of places that they know about the bug and are going to fix it. Will from Adobe said so in a few older posts. It's also listed as an issue in the 4.0.1 readme.
I agree that this is the most screwed up Adobe release ever but I doubt they're deleting your posts to hide it. Never know though.....

Dozens of multimillion dollar movies have been edited with Avid and Final Cut over the past few years. Adobe doesn't put forth any effort make Premiere a pro application. Because they pander to the consumers and prosumers they end up messing up the product for everybody.
Premiere Elements is for consumers, Premiere Pro should be for the 'Pros' -

I have an issue on base line date.
We have uploaed Vendor Open item cutover data through LSMW in foreground mode. After uploaed we found that the base line date 30.07.9999 is automatically picked wrongly in some of vendor open items. Some of the vendor items with same payment term is picked baseline date correctly. I have corss checked in LSMW upload fields and upload excel file and also i have checked in LSMW constant values and any field mapping for baseline date but there is no such mapping and constant values in the LSMW. If i make manual posting of the same vendors its fetching the correct base line date.
now the issue is how to identify the cause, is it uploaed through lsmw or manual input because client is asking how it is picking defaul 9999 year. Is there any way to identify through FI Tables.
Kindly suggest some solution.

The baseline date is controlled by your terms of payment and in
customizing the transaction is OBB8. You have four choices ->
No default - Indicator that no default value is required for the
baseline date for payment. You then have to enter the base
date manually during document entry.
Posting date - Indicator that the posting date is to be proposed in the
base date field during document entry.
Document date - Indicator that the document date is to be proposed in
the base date field during document entry.
Entry date - Indicator that the entry date is to be proposed in the
field "Base date" during document entry.
The system will not re-determine the baseline date if the posting
date is changed. Similarly, if the invoice date is changed and the
baseline date is based on the invoice date, it will also not be
re-determined once enter is pressed.

SSRS 2008 Line Chart Issue.
We are facing an issue with SSRS 2008 charts. We have a report which shows dynamic number of series on a line chart. The data values may not exist for all series for
the same x axis points. We expected SSRS to connect the missing points as average and have set the empty point option to average.
The issue is that the
1)
lines for interpolated points only appear when we set the color of empty point to say red and not when it is set to automatic. We need the interpolated line in the same auto
colour as the original line as we will have markers for the data points from the DB and no markers for empty points.
2)
The interpolated lines extend backwards in the series also – we expect it to only fill the gaps and not extend backward or forward.
Are these issues known and is there a work around for these issues ? We got your name from one of the SSRS community discussions. Could you please connect us with
the right person if you are not the right contact for this issue ?

The lines should not go backward. I have seen this happen before and I’ll have to double-check on what that occurs. If you
are using a Category Axis, make sure you set the sorting to use a Cdate() expression. I think that might be it ,but I’ll have to double check.
As far as using the auto-coloring on the series when you have empty points like this, I don’t think that’s possible. It would require
a DCR. You may need to implement something along the lines described in this article http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa964128(SQL.90).aspx.
When I tried the suggestions I over come the auto colouring issue and also used CDATE () but lines still extend bacawords. Can anyone suggest what to do it this situationHi AKshay_Jadhav,
Firstly, I am not sure who is that MS guy you mentioned without the detail name. Based on my understanding to your issue, I think you could utilize the function
IsNothing in reoprting services to have a check whether the value is null, if it is Null, you should give a average value to this point, if not leave it to be the original value. Of course, you could achieve this in T-SQL. To
the color and marker, we could type in the expression in both feature to control their display effort.

Line-In Issue with Macbook Pro
Hello! I have an issue with my line-in port of my Macbook Pro. I had a headset connected for a while and used it for Skype etc. After a while the microphone did not work anymore. I noticed that the input-level did not show any input to the computer anymore. I changed the headset but Mac OS still does not receive any input... The internal microphone works fine. What can I do?
Again, thanks for your help and effort sharing your weekend too solve the problem! Nonetheless I am still stuck. I set up another account and logged in to see if it works. But it did not. Then I cleanes /library/startupitems folder and checked the items in system preferences > accounts > login items to prevent them from loading at startup. But the line-in is still on strike and yes you are right, the built in microfone works fine and the line-out as well... I thought about making a backup of the whole system with Super Duper!, reinstalling MAC OS and trying to see if works then. If it does, it is a software issue, if it does not, the hardware might be broken... This would be the Windows way which I totally hate...

About to purchase a 24" iMac - Any Audio Line In issues?
having read this thread... http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=642356 i'm worried about the new 24" iMac being plagued with Audio Line In crackles and pops when recording audio. eg - GarageBand, etc.
My current Mac, a Power Mac Dual 2ghz G5 (1st gen) had similar issues, why can't Apple get Audio Input right?
I use Logic Express, but I assume if there's a hardware problem it will be present in all apps.
Can anybody confirm if these issues are present before I make my purchase? Thanks.

The chances of your getting a specific issue yourself in two separate machines are very slim unless the software itself isn't written right.
Some crackles can be explained by audio file compression. When you compress audio, occasionally data corruption and other issues get caught up in the mix. It is best if you record audio uncompressed if you want the best quality for your audio, or if you use compression, use it at a high enough bit-rate to satisfy your audiophile ears.
Don't worry about getting the issue, and if you do get the issue, that's why you have AppleCare. -
Peculiar Issue :RFx line item issue in SAP Sourcing

We are trying to ADD line items in an RFx , when i click on ADD button in the Line items TAB ,the timer just revolves and nothing happens , no line item gets added , It's a Very peculiar issue since it's an standard SAP Functionality .
I've checked net weaver logs and every possible corner in the system , but unfortunately nothing worked
PS: We are able to ADD line items in Auctions .

When I post a MIRO having more than one line item, I am not able to find a material in the Material field in BSEG table for my MIRO Accounting document.
Note that I am using 4.7 version & for tax item entry's since the material is not captured in the std. BSEG table I am unable to get how much is the Sales/Service tax Payed against each item/Material.
Kindly suggest Is this anything to do with my SAP version??
or Is there anyway to make my material appear in the std. BSEG table??

I was done one ME22N, GR and Down payment validation BADI : ZMMGL_BI_POVALID. In that i raise some error messages based on the line item level. Error everything is getting fine.
But problem is suppose line item 2 having error, the error message is coming on pop up menu,but error traffic symbol is showing always last line item. How we will solve these issue.. Kindly give one valid solution for this.

Here's my take on how to fix:
*Manually change Config TCode OMT4 - change message MM 326 & 327 to type "W" (if open order exists...now you can enter through warning messages)
*If inventory exists, then issue out of stock to a cost center
*Change valuation class
*Put stock back into inventory (reverse to that same cost center) Note issue out and reverse back into inventory must happen in the same posting period.
**Valuation class should be changed as expected
**Manually change config TCode OMT4 - change message MM 326 & 327 back to type "E"

Line alignment issue in InDesign CS5
Hi all,
After many fruitless hours of Googling, I'm really, really hoping to find some help here with a small InDesign CS5 issue I'm having. I'll try and keep this brief.
I'm currently designing a book in InDesign CS5 that has chapters that run one after the other. Whereas in most books a new chapter will start on a new page, here they flow together. For each chapter heading, I'm using a font called Orial, size 18. For the main text, I'm using Adobe Garamond Pro, size 12. When I have two solid pages of 12 point Adobe Garamond Pro, all is well. The alignment of lines on both pages are level with one another. That's just what I want.
However, if I have a double page spread and one of the pages has an 18pt Orial title on it (within all the 12pt Adobe Garamond Pro), this throws things out of whack, as you can see in the image below:
As you can see, the lines on page 79 are not level with those on page 78. Is there any way around this?

However, I'll tell you right off the bat: what you want is "Snap to Baseline Grid." If you check out the help files on the baseline grid, you'll see that you have a lot of options (some of which are in Edit -> Preferences -> Grids). Read the help files, or just try searching Google with the name of the feature, then try it out, and come to the InDesign forum if there are parts of this feature that don't make sense to you.
