Audigy Rx Constant Echo / Reverb

Hi, I hope someone can help as this is driving me mad.
I have an Audigy RX and when I log in there is a constant Echo / reverb that is very strong.
I can cancel this out from the creative control panel by changing the Mic settings from Karaoke to Chat. But the moment I log out and back in, the effect returns.
I have been through all the EAX settings and they are ALL turned off, but the issue remain.
How do I make it stop???

Hi,
By the looks of it you'll need driver Uni Pack http://ie.europe.creative.com/support/downloads/download.asp?MainCategory=&sOSName=Windows+XP&regi on=3&Product_Name=Li've%2&Product_ID=4857&modelnum ber=&driverlang=033&OS=0&drivertype=0&x=27&y=0 .
Incidentally if you have an SB Li've (original) under XP and have installed the software off the CD you should de-instll this and the drivers as well as find and rename the file ctmm32.dll. The software on the CD (original) is for 95/98 only. For 2k and XP you will get problems.
There is an update CD available or you can download the core ap
ps.
Hope this helps,
John

  • Can I do an "Echo Reverb" on an audio recording in a track?

I have been trying to find some kind of echo reverb on a track that I have recorded in Logic Pro and would like to apply an echo reverb on that track.
    Hel!
    Thanks

No. I don't think Logic can do that. But check the manual*. I MIGHT be wrong.
*search for "reverb", "bus send", "aux bus" or "insert effect". I doubt you'll find much though.

  • IPod Playback on iPhone Has Unwanted Echo/Reverb

All iPod playback has annoying echo/reverb sound. Is this a software issue or maybe a back earbud connector? I've tried several earbuds/headphones and the problem is the same each time. I've also tried restarting.
    It's running Version 3.0 software.

Same problem. Echo/reverb only heard on saved podcast playback. Streaming audio/podcast is fine. Phone call sound with external speakers is fine. Same reverb heard with and without earbuds. iphone 3G with OS 3.0.1. I have tried reseting and erasing all. Same problem on recover from backup. I guess if I had the time I would reset and erase, then reinstall just OS 3.01 and retest. Maybe a conflict with one of the apps? Recent apps I've loaded include NPR News, KAYAK, reQall, Racers, and Medscape, but my kids are always loading new game apps.

  • Adding echo/reverb instead of removing it

I want to add a trailing echo/reverb to the end of a retrospective narrative, one that fades away repeating the last syllable. Any tips?
Would like to stay in FCP instead of export/import thru Soundtrack Pro.

Extend the end of the clip and play with the echo delay time. Basically, experiment with the effect parameters until you get what you want. Might try adding some reverb using the different room presets as well.
You can also keyframe these effects to gain more control of how the come in and out.
    Have Fun

  • Reducing Echo/Reverb

    Hello there.
I have a video clip in Premiere Pro with audio that has significant echo/reverb. Can anyone recommend how to reduce it in Soundbooth? Here's the clip.

    Hi,
This is most likely going to be about the way the TV sound fills the room and the distance from the TV sound source to the Mic.
Similar issues can appear with External Speakers for computers.
A more directional mic may help.
With Computer speakers you can point them in different directions, essentially away from the Mic with very little difference to the sound your ears pick up.
In this case you are going to find it hard to balance the sound Output and the Mic pick up.
I would consider using a USB headset (even if the TV is still the sound Output).

  • Can't turn off echo/reverb in GarageBand

I cannot seem to turn off the echo and reverb effects in GarageBand '08 on my iMac. The boxes for them are unchecked on the "Real Instrument" track, and I've also unchecked them on the Master track, but the effects are still on. What could be causing this?
    thanx

Just to make sure you didn't overlook the obvious (we all do it more often than we care to admit). Can you toggle the other services in the Sharing pane? Perhaps you just need to click on the padlock and authenticate before you can make changes.
Second thing to try. Make sure System Preferences is not open. Look in the user's Home folder/Library/Caches. Find a cache item com.apple.preferencepanes.cache. Delete this item. Log the user out and log back in. Now open System Preferences and see if you can make the changes.
Third thing to try. Here are the items that get changed in the /etc/cups/cupds.conf file when you turn Printer Sharing OFF---
    line 55 becomes
    ServerName 127.0.0.1
    lines 453 and 454 become
    #Port 631
    Listen 127.0.0.1:631
    line 581 becomes
    #BrowseAddress @LOCAL
    line 635 becomes
    BrowseInterval 0
    line 826 Allow From @LOCAL
is deleted and the block from line 822 through 826 becomes
    <Location />
    Order Deny,Allow
    Deny From All
    Allow From 127.0.0.1
    </Location>
All these changes are taken from a modification of the default cupsd.conf as supplied with the version of CUPS Apple supplies with Tiger. The cupsd.conf that comes with version 1.2.x is most likely different. You will have to do some comparison and interpretation.
    Hope this helps.
EDIT: Don't forget to recycle the cupsd whenever you make a change to the configuration file.

  • Strange Echo & Reverb Suddenly

    Hello All,
I'm suddenly getting some reverb and echo on some audio tracks I recorded where there was none previously. There's no effects attached to the tracks (nor the master track) so I have no idea where this is coming from. When I worked on this file yesterday it was just fine. Now it's not.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks, Ray

That would make me think you have more than one track with the same region copied to it and it is slightly offset from the first. Is this possible? Solo the one track, and then one at a time start soloing the other tracks to see which one is playing out of phase with the first. That's what I would try.

use an automation curve (search "curve" in GB's help)

  • Removing echo/reverb

    Folks
Had to record my video narration in a slightly echoey room that resulted the inevitable "hollow tube" sound. I am new to Soundtrack Pro, so haven't been able to figure out how to neutralize/remove the echo. I need to achieve a warm narrative style.
Can someone with a bit more STP experience help me know how to do this? I'm sure it can be done easily — if only I could be shown how
    Very many thanks

    Thanks, Guys
I've fiddled with different filters and improved it a bit, but this recording was only a sample/layout run on which to place my video/graphics for our Director to check before going to press, so I can run with this one for now and make sure I have my usual recording setup in place for the final
    Thanks and regards

  • 'master echo' & 'master reverb' faded out - how do I undo?

In the 'i' folder on the right hand side, I must have pressed the 'Master Track', by accident - whilst messing around with effects ... now, it won't let me change the echo & reverb on individual tracks.
I tried undoing all the effects used on the Master Track - it makes no difference.
    Can anybody help?
    Thanks

You have to turn on the echo and reverb on the Master Track (pink "LED") in order to be able to use them on the individual tracks!

  • Audigy 2 ZS Center Speaker Upmix Probl

I have an Audigy 2 ZS with an analog 5. speaker setup. I'm not getting a good Pro Logic/CMSS 3D/EAX upmix effect from the Audigy decoder for my stereo MP3's. The center channel is bearly audible. Voices are split over the L/R channels like normal stereo. I turned down the volume for the L/R speakers to listen to the center, but all that comes out is a faint echo effect. The sub and the rear channels work OK. It does this playing MP3s with the Creative Media player and Windows Media Player.
I then went and installed a separate media player from a codec pack (after I gave up on messing with CMSS/EAX settings) and this different player plays my stereo MP3's with perfect upmix effect. Voices go to the center channel, reverb/echo goes to the rear channels, instruments go to L/R channels, and sub kicks in low freqs. Just like prologic should.
How can I get my Creative Audigy decoder to upmix voices to the center channel like the codec pack one? I want to get this to work since the good upmix program only works within its own player. I fear I'm not getting the best playback in my games because of this.

Never mind about my previous post. Found the answer on another forum. CMSS does not upmix like ProLogic. All it does is put echoes/reverb in the other speakers besides L/R (pretty worthless if you ask me).
To get real ProLogic type upmix, all I did was disable CMSS altogether. Then I installed DTS NEO 6 and enabled it in Cinema mode. All my music was then upmixed just like ProLogic. Voices to the center speaker, instruments to L/R, echoes to the rear channels, and bass signals to the subwoofer.
Lesson learned: Do not look for answers on manufacturer forums. These are just gripe pages. Hope this helps somebody with the same problem though.

  • Any way to remove "reverb" in recorded audio using audio effects?

I taped an interview using a lapel mic. On playback on camcorder as well as playing it in PE7, it sounds okay. When I take the file and played it in our church over our sound system (which is state of the art) The audio of the people speaking sounds as if they're in a barrel. I have a soundtrack playing in the background and it sounds great, it's just the audio of the speaker that sounds so awful. Our sound tech says it sounds that way because of the small area I recorded in and the echoing is in the original footage, and that it's magnified when played over a good sound system. Is there a way to fix this or at least minimize the echoing "reverb" sound using the audio effects? Thanks!

One of the suggestions via Ozpeter's links was to model the impulse response from speaker to microphone in the reverberant environment. This is roughly what Gloftis would have to do:
Put the speaker back in exactly the same position in the original room with the same lapel mic in exactly the same position. Add a small high quality microphone close to the lips of the speaker. It would have to be so close that the reverberation was negligible and positioned so that breath pops didn't occur. Then get the speaker to say or read a few minutes of speech, and record the output of both microphones simultaneously. From this, the room acoustic and lapel microphone response as a whole could be computed (a black box filter response). The inverse response then needs to be computed, and you hope that such a filter is stable (not guaranteed). Then pass the reverberant speech through this inverse filter and voilà!
Another solution suggested was expanding the low levels downwards. That is essentially what I suggested in my first post. Expansion should be less obtrusive than gating (hard on/off).
Finally, the most straight forward method, if practicable, is to re-record the voice material in a non-reverberant environment. He/she could listen to the original speech and read out the material in synchronism, with the same mannerisms, to preserve lip-synch.

  • Audigy 2 ZS Newest Beta Driver Probl

those drivers have really big problems, in BF2 it has its problems as u know, freezes and when there are a lot voices and sound it laggy but sometimes not so much.
for example in the game SAS Anti Terror Force, and StarShip Troopers the FPS new game, the games Freeze, stuck, and have sound issues, and the game : The Movies has sound problems too, the music suddently and sometimes turn off and on.
anyone tried and has the same synptoms?
i dont want to go back to .84.55 , they dont support nothing,, .
