Audio jack on iphone

Hello, the audio jack from my iphone was ripped out. Does anyone know how much it will cost to replace?

Definitely not the headphones since (as you said) they fit fine into your 4S. The jack on the iPhone 5 is likely not mounted correctly on the PCB (or whatever it's actually mounted to). I would take it in to an Apple Store and have them compare yours to others on display there. If they all fit like yours, then that's probably by design and there likely is nothing you can do but accept it as it is.
If the others on display are not like yours, then you likely have a defective unit which should be replaced by Apple.

  • IPhone 5 audio jack problems

My iPhone 5 audio jack seems like it's broken or something. Every time I put my headphones in and I move them a little bit the music either pauses, changes into a different volume , only plays on one side ,or sounds like static. Is is broken? If so can it be fixed? Also it isn't the earbuds since it did the same thing when I use a brand new pair!

Bring your phone to Apple for evaluation.  If defective, it will be replaced (free of charge if within the warranty period)

  • Charging iphone with audio jack?

I just purchased a new vehicle, and the auxillary connection for media is an audio jack input. Does anyone know where I can get an adapter for the cord that comes with the iphone? Or possibly a cord with the apple male connection on one side and a male audio jack on the other?
    Thanks!!

I'm alittle confused, mainly with the title. Are you looking to charge the iPhone through the audio jack from the car? If so there is no power and no way to charge it from there. The AUX jack in the car is for audio in only.
There are cables that have the iPod dock end to plug into the iPhone, and then it splits to audio and USB jack for charging. You could then plug the USB end into a cigarette USB power jack from the car and the audio cables could plug into the AUX jack on the car. I would suggest trying a Best Buy or Future shop.

  • IPhone 3G S: Audio Jack

I'm not sure where I can post this yet but does anyone know if the audio jack in the new iPhone 3G S be able to directly connect to an audio in line (ie: in a car) without having to get some converter like the old ones?

I think the confusion here is the recessed connector in the original iPhone. You don't necessarily need the TTY adapter, just a specific adapter for the iPhone. I guess the TTY one already has the deeper plug built-in. To answer the question, though, this issue was fixed with the iPhone 3G, which got a flush headphone jack. One can safely assume it's the same in the 3G S.

  • IPhone audio too soft when using car audio jack...

iPod touch audio is soft when I hook it up to my car audio jack.  I have to turn up the car volume almost to max! I have checked the volume level settings on the iPod...no change?

You should post your question over in the iPod Touch forum (this is iPhone).

  • Do audio jack sizes differ for iphone 3, iphone 4s ipad 2?

Do audio jack sizes differ for iphone 3, iphone 4s ipad 2?

No. They are all industry standard 3.5mm ones, that any headphones will fit into.

  • Audio Jack not working on iPhone 6 plus

I  have had my Iphone for about 4 days now and just the other day I found out that my audio jack does not work. I plugged my headphones in and instead of the music playing through the headphones it just continues to play through my speakers. I have tried several different headphones and I have even tried plugging an AUX cord into it while I was in my car and still nothing. Has anyone else encountered this same issue and if so have you found a way to fix it? Or is this something that I need to fix by taking it to my local apple store?

Given that it is practically out of the box, you should take it in and make it Apple's problem. They should fix it, replace it or refund you for a new one that works.

There are no legitimate sources for iPhone parts anywhere. Apple does not sell parts.

    If not under warranty,
Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for $199 for 64 GB 4G and $99 for the other 4Gs. They do not fix yours.

  • When I plug in headphones or use audio jack only one speaker works.

I have an iphone 4g.  When I plug in headphones only one side works.  When I plug into my car audio jack...only one car speaker works.

There is only one speaker, the other side is the microphone.

  • Audio jack no longer fits

I have a brookstone Weather-Resistant Indoor/Outdoor Wireless Speaker that has always connected to my iPhone 3Gs with no problems - I recently upgraded everything and all of the sudden the audio jack will not fit into the iPhone like it always has done before - it goes in but will not snap into place. There is nothing in the audio hole on the iPhone - is it even possible for a firmware update to cuase this problem?

How could a firmware update conceivably change the size of the headset jack, (or any other aspect of the phone hardware)? Are you serious??
Either there is debris in the jack you don't see, or the plug has become bent or corroded. Did you try plugging in something else like the iPhone headset? If that fits, the problem is with the speaker plug. If not, the problem is in the jack, and you should blow it out with canned air (never by mouth).

  • 3.5mm Audio Jack can't be used as an input anymore.

As I was researching laptops, I took into account my interest in sound and music recording and production. I was worried that the Macbook Air wouldn't be sufficient to record what I needed it to; however, I was reassured to find that the audio jack could be used as both an output and an input.
The day came on which I finally recieved my $1400 Macbook Air, come to find that the audio jack was only an audio output, and could not be switched. I read that this was disabled accidentally by a software upgrade, and I would like to know if there is a way to bypass this problem, or somehow fix the software so it recognizes a microphone input.
    Thank You.

It is not disabled at all, you just have to have the right connector. I use it for full duplex telephone calls routinely with any of my iPhone compatible headsets.
The current MacBook Air uses a TRRS 3.5 mm mini jack, just like the iPhone. As long as the intended device (headphone/microphone) is compatible with this jack standard, you are fine.
    TRRS (tip, ring, ring, sleeve)
You can also buy adapters that will "split" the connections into separate Mic and speaker channels, for use with recording equipment using other jacks. Say, for instance you have a microphone that uses a 1/4" jack.

  • Audio Jack Stuck on Input (MBP 13" Mid 2010)

    Hello,
The audio jack on my Mid 2010 MacBook Pro is stuck on "input" mode. Whenever I plug in headphones and change the setting to output and try to put a signal through it (like changing the volume using the F11 and F12 keys), the computer freezes and resets the audio jack setting to input again. I know that the headphones are not the problem since they work fine with other MacBooks and my iPhone, and I have tried other headphones and gotten the same result. I'm running OSX 10.9.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
    Thanks in advance.
