Audio sync lost from AE to Encore.

I'm using AE6 with a 23.976 timeline with audio that is correctly synced in the timeline.  I render using the Blueray presets and import the resulting audio and video files into encore dropping them into a new timeline.  This is a full feature length film.  The audio begins to drift in Encore the further down the timeline unlike in AE.  Sync is lost.  Anyone experience this?  I'm using adobe's own presets....  The platform doesn't seem to make a difference.  Madening trying to get a bluray out the door.  Alternatively, one could render the AE project in media encoder, but I don't see that being any different.
Thanks!
Similar bug found in that h264 files rendered in AE at 23.976 do not have their time interpreted the same as they go to other apps like Davinci Resolve.

> Alternatively, one could render the AE project in media encoder, but I don't see that being any different.
Actually, it's a lot different.
The MPEG-2 and H.264 exporters in After Effects have a lot of problems that the corresponding formats in Adobe Media Encoder (AME) don't have. Whenever possible, use AME for exporting these formats.
What I do is export a lossless master/archive file out of After Effects and drop that into a watch folder for AME for all of my distribution formats.

  • Sync lost from PC to Mac

I'm on Windows 7 and have a project that I've handed off to a Mac OSX Yosemite 10.10.1 user.  We are both using Premiere Pro CC 2014.  When I open it on my machine, everything on my timeline is perfectly in sync.  When it's opened on PPro on Mac, the A/V sync is off (though it still looks aligned on the timeline).
The project is comprised of audio tracks pulled from Panasonic AVCHD footage lined up with video footage from Canon DSLR.
What could be the issue?  What troubleshooting steps could I try?
I have confirmed the project stays in sync on another Windows 7 machine.
    Thanks,

If I understand you correctly, you plug in the iPod to the Mac itunes, and it Restore the Ipod to Mac format, erasing all your data in the iPod?
If that is so, you are out of luck, the Mac dont have any of your data or songs, it maybe in your old PC iTunes library, if you sync it periodically.

  • Audio sync lost when recording

I have another problem after the latest update (besides the applescript).
When recording a movie the sync between audio and picture is lost.
    I use a canopus ADVC 110.
Using iMovie still maintains the video audio lock.
This update is just horrible, how could apple release this crap?
    Henning

    Hi,
    Thanks for your response.
    >1. Does the sync problem aggravates over time or does it remain constant from 3rd min to 30th min?
It aggrevated over time.  You can't really notice it until around 3 minutes into the video.  I watched it again and it looks like it the sync fluctuates slightly. Goes out of sync, gets back in sync (or nearly) and then goes out again.   Listening on headphones I hear tiny, split second drops outs or glitches (related?).
    >2. Did you observe the sync problem in the live stream also?
This time didn't even do a live stream.  Had similar issue two weeks ago that was live stream and file save.  Assumed the issue was due to network issues.
    >3. Can you reduce the file split time to let's say 5 min and reproduce the problem again?
Will be trying this today or tomorrow.
    >4. Which audio device are you using? Is the audio and video device coming from the same device?
It is from the same device (I think.)  I am remotely troubleshooting for someone so I'm not 100%.  It's a Polycom CX5000.  The first one we have.  We previously had a Microsoft Roundtable which is the same device.  The device names come up differently though so that's why I'm not positive.  The Video device is currently listed as Integrated Webcam (which must be correct as I'm getting the right picture).  The audio though lists "Microphone Array (IDT High Def..." something..    That might be the laptop's built in microphone?  If so, that might be the issue.
    >5. If you have a different audio-video devices, please try with them and come back with the result.
    Will let you know.
I'm hoping it is #4 as that would be an easy fix. I would find it hard to believe Adobe released a product that couldn't keep audio and video in sync, right?

  • Audio sync lost when capturing

I have recently encountered a problem while log and capturing the past two tapes. This is something that is new to me because in my previous 3+ years of using FCP I have never came across this. I am using the Sony DSR-11 and FCP 4.5 with 4 GB of Ram on a G5. I have corrected the problem within FCP by moving the video +7 frames to match up the audio, but was wondering what I can do to fix the problem while I capture. If anyone has encountered such a thing or knows the fix please let me know. I'm not sure if it's the deck, computer, or hard drives.
    Thanks

One way to test is to do a capture using the camera as the tape drive.
If it syncs ok using the camera and using the DSR-11 it does not, there is something in the way the canon wrote the data that the sony is having difficulty reading.
What was the format of the recording - straight NTSC (or PAL) DV?
How are you monitoring the disfunctional sync? Are audio and video going out firewire to their respective devices or do you have video going out firewire and monitoring audio off of the computer audio out?

  • Power DVD audio sync issue

    Hi DVDSP people!
I haven't posted or checked-in in a while, hope all is well with everyone. You guys have been so helpful in the past, I figured I'd see if anyone has any wisdom they'd like to share.
A DVDSP4 project of mine is having a very strange issue, which I've never experienced in all my (4) years of DVD authoring:
The final video content plays back beautifully on every set-top player and Mac DVD drive I can fine, as well as VLC, Windows Media Player and Real Player on a few different test PCs.
However, when playing back the video content using PowerDVD for PC (this is having tested with several different PCs and several versions of PowerDVD), the audio is slightly askew from the video, by at least 20-30 frames.
Does anyone here have ANY idea why this might be the case?
Of course, my client ONLY has PowerDVD on his laptop, so I can't really say, "Oh, well, it works on every other platform BESIDES yours!"
These clips were encoded with the Sorenson Squeeze 4.3 MPG-2 encoder, with AC3 audio from Compressor 2. Not sure if that is helpful for troubleshooting...
Any assistance, comments or experience you could share would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks -- Jerry Silverman

Luke, thanks much for replying. That's kinda what I figured, but it seemed strange to me that such a popular and highly-rated DVD playback software would "just be glitchy." Especially since Dell seems to ship it with all of their DVD-enabled PCs!
I suppose I could scoot the audio, but that would be more of a 'band-aid,' and it would also screw up playback on all the other platforms (on which the DVD plays fine). But I appreciate the idea, and I may just have to use it for the client approval copy (wink wink).
Does anyone know if messing with the VRAM or the frame buffer settings on a PC would effect video/audio sync coming from a DVD?

  • The audio plays fine in the project screen but in fullscreen playback the audio is lost on certain clips often alternating with each clip. How to fix?

Audio is fine in project screen play back but when full screen playback is used the audio is lost from alternating clips. This carries over to the exported file/final version. This is my 1st time using I movie.

Hey did you find any solutions? I'm running into the same problems, would appreciate feedback and possible ways to fix this problem?
    Thanks!

When I try syncing music from my library to my ipod, I get the message that it lost connection. My ipod is plugged in to the computer though. Does anyone know how to fix this?

How is your iPod configured to sync music? In other words, what options and configurations do you have enabled from under your iPod's Summary and Music tabs in iTunes?
Maybe have a look at this article as well to verify your iPod is set up for syncing music.

  • HT3529 I have lost all data on my iphone and the back-up is too old. How can I restore iMessage chats on my iPhone 4? I have all the chats on my Mac, but there seems to be no sync function from Mac to iphone. Please advice.

    Hi,
I have lost all data on my iphone by mistake. I needed to restore the phone and I didnt realize my back-up was 1yr old, and now the phone is restored and I've got a year old contact list and iMessage chat history. Luckily my iMessage on the Mac is still valid and has all the chat history. My question is how can I restore iMessage chats on my iPhone 4 from my Mac? I have all the chat history on my Mac, but there seems to be no sync function from Mac to iphone. Please advice.

If things seem to be going haywire with your phone, it seems that it MAY be a software issue.
Now, that being said, that does not necessarily mean that it is a virus. Software issues do happen sometimes. It is probably just coincidence.
What you need to do is restore the device using iTunes. This will fix any software issues. After you have done this, you can restore from an iCloud backup.
iCloud does not back up the actual software, so no, the "virus" would not have gotten into the backups.
The link below provides steps on restoring your device using iTunes as well as how to restore from an iCloud backup.

Don't worry! Everything should be back to normal if you follow these steps.

  • Encore Timeline Audio Sound Vanishes from Dynamic Link to PPro CS4

    Windows XP Pro SP 3
    CS4 Production Suite Premium
    Premiere Pro V4.2.1
    Encore V4.0.1.048
Problem: Encore Timeline Audio Sound Vanishes from Dynamic Link to PPro CS4
I have several several PPro CS 4 projects each with a couple sequences.
In Encore CS4, I make dynamic links to the sequences using
Adobe Dynamic Link | Import Premiere Pro Sequence ...
In Encore, I create the Timelines for the Sequences from the dynamic links.
In the Encore Timeline for each sequence, each Timeline initially plays the video and audio correctly.
However, should I make any minor edits in Premiere (via edit original in Encore) like changing a title's text and re-rendering the PPro sequence, the Encore Timeline plays the video fine, but there is no audio (the audio track is there, but no audio sound occurs). The Encore dynamic link is untranscoded.
The following do not make the Encore Timeline audio track audible.
    Update markers from source.
Clean database button for PPro and Encore.
Deleting the media Cache and Media Cache Files folders.
    Deleting the Encore Cache folder.
The only way which seems to fix the audio is to delete the Encore Timeline and generate a new Timeline from the dynamic link. Of course, this means relinking the end actions for the buttons and timelines which is a pain and defeats the purpose of using dynamic links.
I have been using dynamic links without audio problems for quite awhile without a problem. Now this problem appears in many projects. Thanks in advance.

Haven't seen a post from the OP since this one.
I cannot directly answer, but here's some info.
From a variety of users comments, and my limited experience with CS4 and significant experience wiht CS5, there were improvements in CS5.
The number one issue when users find no audio in DL situations is not waiting for conforming.  Look at the progress bar and wait till done.
You are more likely to see DL audio problems using files in Premeire that are not as easy for Encore (e.g. mp3).

  • MP4 Video from Flip Ultra having Audio Sync Issues

All of sudden I've started having audio sync issues with the mp4 footage exported from the The Flip Ultra camera. Ive tryed the mp4 footage in both windows 7 and Mac OS X and i'm having the same audio issue but when I watch in the flip software or in iMovie no issues. Any know why this has just started happening?

Work through all of the steps (ideas) listed at http://ppro.wikia.com/wiki/Troubleshooting
If your problem isn't fixed after you follow all of the steps, report back with ALL OF THE DETAILS asked for in the FINALLY section, the questions at the end of the troubleshooting link... most especially the codec used... see Question 1

  • Help please... Audio sync issues going from iMovie to iDVD (iLife '09 packa

I've tried technical support, I've tried looking online but nothing seems to have helped, so here's the problem:
I have a video/movie, that is around 58 minutes long, I share it to iDVD and the other media formats from iMovie. The vid has music, transitions, titles, credits, etc... It plays fine in iMovie while I am editing it. The problem comes when I try to export it to another media format and to iDVD.
There's a section that has major audio sync issues that I have no idea how to even begin to fix. There is audio and music from the 55 minute mark that plays over the 27 minute mark for a good 3 minutes of video and audio.
I've tried some of the suggestions I've come across but nothing seems to work. Does anyone have anything that they can offer this very frustrated guy? Please and thank you in advance.

I don't shoot 12 bit audio (ever) so I'm not an expert on fixing it or converting it back to 16 bit audio. I can only report what others on this forum claim to have worked (in some cases with marginal success).
The ones that comes to mind are:
    1. video and audio extraction in an attempt to re sync.
    2. exporting back to the camera from iMovie and then re-importing as 16 bit.

  • From PP to Encore I lose audio

When moving from PP to Encore I, as aparently hundreds, most likely thousands, of other folks have experienced, lose the audio portion of my project. Sometimes I will get only the first part. Here are some points to consider:
    1. Many threads have spoken of leaving the Encore more time to process. I have left mine for an entire day. If that is not enough time??
    2. I am importing from a Sony video camera VX2000 NTSC I am processing standard DVs NOT HD NOT Blu Ray. 720X480 29.97fps
    3. I am NOT a knowledgeable video editor I make rocking chairs and teach people how to make them - www.rockingchairuniversity.com I do my own websites, write books and edit videos in order to support my students. If Adobe supported their customers as well as I support mine I would NOT be on this forum now!
    4. I have spent the better part of the last four days working on this problem. At one point I envoked Audition from PP and was able to convert the entire audio to MONO. Within Audition I selected the audio with control C, went back to PP and pasted it to an open audio channel, muted the original tracks and then processing in Encore went quite well. (could have been a dream) BUT I do not recall what I did in Audition to accomplish said task.

This morning I am starting from scratch:
    New project:
         Video rendering and playback
Mercury playback engine software only (can not change)
         Video
              Display format
                   Timecode
         Audio
              Display format
                   Audio Samples
         Capture
              Capture format
                   DV
    New Sequence
         Sequence presets:
              DV NTSC
                   Standard 48khz
When downloading video from Sony VX2000 I used "scene detect" and ended up with about 80, on average, clips per one hour tape. I am loading two or three of these "clips" into this project for testing. Total sequence length, maybe three minutes.
Some of the data from my "sequence settings" are:
Display format: 30fps drop frame timecode
         Audio 48khz
         Display format: Audio samples
         Preview file format:  NTSC DV
         Codec DV NTSC
Max bit depth not selected and Maximum render not selected.
    In "preferences" I have:
         Audio:
5.1 mixdown type: Front + Rear
         Mono media: Adaptive
         Stereo Media: Adaptive
         5.1 Media: Adaptive
Multichannel Mono Media: Adaptive (I changed to adaptive because Adobe was changing my voice overs to "chipmunk mode"
Then I select "file" and "import" and select two or three of my clips from the "sony capture".
Now I have four clips in my project window, "Project: test"
I double click to move to my edit window and then drag them to my timeline (sequence 01)
I now have about a minute and a half of video plus audio.
I see something I have not noticed before  --  On my audio 1 track I see some tiny boxes on the far right and when I hover over them they say "channel output mapping" It is setup for input 1 > output 1 and input 2 > output 2
I click "file" > "Adobe Dynamic Link" > "Send to Encore"
         in Encore:
              Project settings:
                   Authoring mode: DVD
                   Television Standard: NTSC
                   Transcode Settings: Codec: MPEG-2 Dimensions 720X480: Frame Rate 29.97;
                                                 Fields: Lower Field First
                                                 Audio Transcoding Scheme: Dolby Digital
                                                 Maximum Audio/Video bitrate: 8Mbps
    I click "OK"
Thirty seconds or so later Encore opens with my video showing. I press play and I hear audio for approximately 1 or two seconds. 15 minutes later I still hear audio for one or two seconds. (it stops in exactly the same place)
I happen to have two machines on my desk, both less than two weeks old. An HP Pavillion with 6Gb memory a fast processor and a 1.5Tb hard drive with nothing on it except my Adobe programs. The other is an Acer with 10Gb memory and a 2Tb hard drive with nothing on it but my Adobe programs. This operation was conducted on my Acer. I will now execute exactly the same sequence of operations using exactly the same clips on my HP Pavilion and will report back.

I upgraded from v3 to v6. Firefox Sync lost hundreds of my bookmarks - it kept all the organised ones, but lost all the unsorted's. I'm now facing an inquiry at work, and could cheerfully kill Mozilla. However, is there any way to fix this?

I did read what you posted, and will point out once more - the organised bookmarks were kept, the unsorted - the majority - were lost. I tried accessing them THROUGH sync as I couldn't find them before I started sync and thought that might help. Really didn't. Sync was only loaded with version 6, never used it on 3. Updated from 3 to 6; tried to find bookmarks. All unsorted ones GONE. accessed sync; no bookmarks. went back to three. never shifting again, version 6 is a quick trip to hell. Should have known not to trust the program to preserve bookmarks, blame myself for being so bloody stupid to trust it to keep my information safe. Moral: always save multiple backups.

  • Audio sync fails on import to fcpx from dsr11

problem = audio sync is waaaay off in only ten minutes of importing from Sony dsr11 ( mini DV tape drive)
by the end of 60 minutes import it is 15 seconds behind.
cable = Thunderbolt to firewire adapter -> firewire 400 mini jack on the dsr11
I have turned off  all options on import.
I have turned off Time Machine.
I have the fastest, biggest imac there is. ( i7, 16gb, 3tb fusion, etc.)
Fcp is still starting up a background render (for the proxy images?)
the render progress bar never quits.
I am importing to the internal drive.
I have 3400 HOURS of DV footage that I bought this Apple system to edit.
so I must find a way to import, preferably in the background .

If anyone has any ideas as to how to set  up FCPx for a direct import fro the dsr11--- I am all ears.
Well, nothing is going to capture tape – digital or analog – faster than real time. But there are certain things that will use resources after the clips are imported. And they include analyzing for problems and creating clips in editing codecs. Given the scope of your project, I would forgo all that extra sttuff and just get the DV into your Mac and FCP. My import dialog would accordingly look like this.

  • Audio sync problem with videos imported from iPod Touch

I have an iPod Touch 4th Generation that I used to shoot video at a family birthday party. When I imported the footage into iMovie '11, the audio is not in sync with the video (video is about two seconds behind audio) and there is only the left channel of audio. I verified that the video on the iPod plays just fine--no audio sync problem, both left and right channels work. I just upgraded to iOS 5 on the iPod Touch. The iMac is running Snow Leopard 10.6.8.
As a workaround, I can import the video into iPhoto instead. When I play the video in iPhoto, there are no audio sync problems and both channels of audio can be heard. I have imported other iPod Touch videos successfully into iMovie '11 in the past few months, but this has been the first time these problems have occurred. Any help would be appreciated.

Premiere cannot handle clips with variable framerate.
Your converted clips need to have constant framerate.
Otherwise use a converter like Handbrake.
