Authenticate twice when launching applet from IIS

Help! Once a user is successfully logged in using basic authentication on IIS, he still gets prompted for a username/password from the sun JVM after the applet is launched. Is there any way around this other than:
1) Using the MSJVM
2) Making that directory that launches the applet Anonymous.

If IIS got Basic or Intergrated Authentication on than updating would fix this.
The jre will use the browsers settings to connect. I had this problem trying to see applets on the Internet
through a proxy that required NTLM. 1.4.0 could not authenticate at all and 1.4.2 kept asking for my domain
ID. Since this is a bad habbit for users to fill out their ID and password when opening Inernet pages we
waited for a newer release and that fixed it.

Run time prompts not appearing when launching BR from a right click menu

Hi!
I have a problem when trying to launch a business rule from a right click menu which is assigned to a dataform.
The rule launches but does not show/ask for the run time prompts as it should do. The run-time prompts should not be hidden (I checked also Eas and data form selections).
When using the rule form the Tools-Business Rules menu, the rule works fine. It prompts for the required variables and as they are filled in, the rule does what it is expected to.
Also, when using the same rule attached into a form (and selected "use members on form"&"run on save") the rule works correctly.
We are using version 11.1.2.1.
I already have tried restarting Planning services but without success.
What might cause this?

I found out from the Oracle knowledge base:
This issue is caused by unpublished Bug 11064867 - RIGHT CLICK MENUS NOT RENDERING RUN TIME PROMPTS
In version 931 run time prompts worked correctly when launching them from a right click menu, I checked this out.
In our current version I got this working (this is kind of a workaround) by adding a new RTP variable (using the same dimension as the original RTP variable). This way I got the rule to "ask for more information" (like what were you asking for? ) and not running the rule without interruptions. This instruction was given in Oracle support (knowledge base).

JInitiator 1.1.8.7 Crash when launch it from IE

We deployed Oracle form to web and required client to download JInitiator
1.1.8.7 to use web forms. It's working fine for some client machined , but
others's Jinitiator crash when launch it from Start-->Program-->JInitiator.
The error is related Jrew.exe. When click web form link from IE, it caused IE
crash and IE closed without any error message.

Doh! :8} NermD revived an old thread! :) Forms version is likely Forms 6i or Forms 9i, still it would be good to have the original author indicate these versions. Windows XP came was released in 2002! ;)

NoClassDefFoundError when loading Applets from IIS5.0

Hi
I am having trouble loading applets from IIS 5.0. Here is my html code

All my clases and packages reside in the same directory from where this html is loaded.
The trouble is that it behaves erratically. At times the Applet works fine and at times, the browser cannot locate some class.
The funny part is this behaviour is not consistent. Some times the browser is able to load all the classes and the applet function very well.
Any suggestion/advice/tip will be great help

Launch applet from html from ff/ie/chrome but breaks chrome when xhtml

The following will work as an html file. However I place the body into a jsf xhtml file. Chrome complains: "TypeError: Object#<Document> has no method 'write' " The deployJava.js doesn't work in pc based safari in any case - but direct <applet> works for html file. Any idea how to resolve?

I'm guessing you'll get better answers on a Chrome forum, since Chrome seems to be the culprit.

Is there a way to remove "Applet running..." when launching Applet in JWS?

Is there any way to remove the "Applet running..." message at the bottom of the applet when launch in JWS? I have searched in the forum and bug database and cannot find a reference in how to remove it.
I remember in the old applet days (JDK 1.1, 1.2?), everybody are mad at the yellow warning message when launching a new frame from an applet window. It is hard to believe this issue reappears in JDK 1.4.
FYI, all the jar files are signed. And I am using JDK 1.4.1.

Thanks for your response. Unfortunately, our application requested all-permission in the jnlp file, and all jar files are signed as well.
In fact, the warning is more like a status bar. The message was changed from "Initializing Applet..." to "Applet running...." during init() method.

How to hide preview configurator summary page when launching configurator from iStore

Hi,
We have a requirement to hide preview configuration summary page in iStore whereas it should be visible when launching from other host applications.We tried doing it with help of usage functionality as below.
1) Create a usage with some name say “iStore” in configurator.
2) Take copy of summary with Status region template and add display condition to hide the summary region.
3) Take copy of the model active ui and attach the above template to it.
4) Publish the model with this new copy UI and usage as iStore to the host application.(There will be 2 publications one with this usage and other with normal)
5) Enable the profile CZ:Publication usage at application/responsibility levels for iStore.
With the above approach users are concerned that we need to maintain 2 User Interfaces in Configurator and each time any change has to be done both the user interfaces needs to be changes which will not be a feasible option in case of complex models.We would like to know if there is any other approach to hide this summary page from istore.
We are on R12.1.3 and are using fusion configurator engine.
Any suggestions on customizations/approach will be appreciated.

I3 freezes when launching ncmpcpp from dmenu

It works great when I launch ncmpcpp from within a terminal (urxvt or xterm). But the whole system freezes when trying to launch it from dmenu. I'm forced to hit the power button on my desktop.
When I power back on and inspect the i3 log file, there's nothing past the call to dmenu_run:

When I try and use dmenu, this time from openbox, ncmpcpp launches flawlessly.

Error running SendMail when launch application from JNI

Hello,
I am getting the following exception when I try to send email using JavaMail. This error began happening when we upgraded to Java 1.6. It does not happen with earlier versions of Java.

I have browsed through the forums and read the many postings with a similar error. I have tried the variety of suggestions, but nothing seems to work. My understanding is the JAF is included in Java 1.6, so we should not need the activation.jar in our classpath anymore. Even so I have tried with and without the activation.jar in the classpath. I do not think it is a class loader issue because we do not build any of this into our application. It is all referenced in jar files on the classpath.
The interesting thing is that I can launch the application with a normal JVM launch and it works just fine. The error only occurs when I launch the application from a C++ application using JNI. In both cases I am using the exact same classpath. The error occurs whether I include activation.jar in the classpath or not.
I have tried to programmatically add the MIME types using the MailCommandMap class, but this had no effect.
The most recent test I ran was to put the activation.jar and mail.jar files in my C:\Java\jre6\lib\endorsed directory. This actually cleared up the error. This is not a viable solution for us, but it leads me to believe the .mailcap file is not being loaded correctly for some reason. I just cannot figure out what the issue could be as it seems to be associated with JNI.

Because JAF is now part of the JDK, the JAF classes are loaded by the system class loader
instead of the application class loader. If the thread's context class loader is not set, JAF
uses its class loader to load the mailcap files. Since JavaMail's mailcap file is in mail.jar,
and mail.jar is still loaded by the application class loader, the system class loader can't
find JavaMail's mailcap file.
Normally, when starting the application using the "java" command, the thread's context
class loader will be set to the application's class loader. This may not be happening
automatically when starting the application with JNI.

Error when launching PCR from action box

We have a problem with our PCR's. We're on ERP2004, but we're using the jsp-based forms. I am trying to use the "display form" in the action box for personnel change requests in transaction IQS22. I have set up the server in the required backend table. However, when I launch the form I get a portal error screen that states:

Has anyone else been able to launch PCR's from R/3 successfully? Any hints?

We have been using MSS for over 2 years and did not have any issue while displaying the PCR form from IQS22. One thing you have to ensure is that the user is logged onto the Portal before trying to display the PCR form from the backend.

RemoteApp Error when launching dashboard from client PC

Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials, Client PCs: Windows 7 and Windows 8.1
When I run the Windows Server Essentials Dashboard from any of my clients in the domain I get this error:
RemoteApp Error
Windows cannot start the RemoteApp program.
The following RemoteApp program is not in the list of authorized programs: Dashboard
I have tried loading the dashboard under Domain admin accounts and user accounts and get the same results.
I am tiring to launch the Dashboard so that I can restore files from the Client backup.
Any help would be appreciated.

My guess is that the value you have is "0".
If it is, just change to "1". No reboot necessary.

ClassNotFound error when loading applet from a NTLM authenticated site

I wrote a Java applet and put it into a JAR file and signed the JAR file. It works fine if the user doesn't need to be authenticated. However, when I place the same JAR to a site that uses NTLM (NT challenging) authentication. The applet failed to load and returns ClassNotFound exception. Does anyone know why?

It appears that the latest jvm plugins use java to get the archive files instead of using the browser to download the archive files.
In addition sun does not support NTLM authentication, because of this the latest jvms are unable to download the jar file containing the applet.
I have been working on finding a way to replace suns http Handler, but have had no luck with setting the java.protocol.handler.pkgs for the plugin and having it retain the setting.
I have achieved partial results using the appletviewer with -J-Djava.protocol.handler=com.nogoop
