Authentication window not populating when attempting to move a file

When attempting to move a file that will need administrator authentication, the authentication window to enter a password does not populate. Thus, I am unable to move the file.

I didnt get back with you this week as we've discovered a number of other "interesting" issues with the iMac. They all seem to (possibly) be related to privilege issues: 1. Cannot move photos to ~Library/Desktop Pictures, 2. Cannot access System Preferences/Security&Privacy (click on the lock to make a change and the User Name and Password "Unlock" window will not appear.) 3. When attempting to install the MS Office For Mac update, the installer will not respond. 4. Cannot boot from an external drive. The computer wants to reinstall the OS X Yosemite when attempting to boot from an external drive.

Like the Subject says, I cannot get my friend list to populate with people I am friends with through Spotify. I cannot share a track with anyone while on my iPhone. I have to get on my PC and share stuff from there. I have logged in and out. I have deleted the app, redownloaded, and still nothing. I have also made sure my settings aren't set to anything weird. Disconnected my Facebook and everything. I don't know what else I can do.

I have was moving music from iTunes to a CD, however, when attempting to move a second set of music a error message stating "this is not a blank CD". How can more music be copied to this CD, which has more than sufficient space to be copied to?

If you backed up your iPhone to iCloud before updating the software, first try the steps under "Restore from an iCloud backup" in this article to recover your data:

All in one is successfully installed on wireless network and SW successfully installed on Windows XP computer yet printer does not print. Get no error message other than document failed to print. HELP!

Sounds to me like the file is probably corrupt. If you had hard drive corruption or damage, that could easily result in recovered files not being fully intact. If you were trying to recover accidentally deleted files, it's possible they might have been partially overwritten before recovering. There are never any guarantees with file recovery.
Without more information on the circumstances that led you to try recovery, it's hard to give advice on what to try from here. You could always try another file recovery tool, like Data Rescue 3. Just be sure you're taking appropriate precautions when doing recovery. See Recovering deleted files.

The mac has no native way to read .wma files (these are Windows Media Audio files). Do a search on the internet for playing wma files on a mac. You will find several links to solution (one is to use flip4mac).

I attempted to convert the entire document and same result. I specifically purchased the export to Word feature. Please assist. I initially had to export the Word Perfect document into PDF and attempting to go from PDF to MS Word.

I'm sorry to hear your conversion process has stalled. It sounds as though the problem isn't specific to one file, as you've been unable to convert anything since the first four chapters converted successfully.
So, let's try this:
If you're converting via the ExportPDF website, please log out, clear the browser cache, and then log back in. If you're using Reader, please choose Help > Check for Updates to make sure that you have the most current version installed.

Sorry to hear about your difficulties.
It should be very uncommon for Pages to crash. I've been using it for years on a daily basis and it's only happened to me once except when I was trying to replicate a bug for someone.
Your experience might be a symptom of an underlying problem with your system. I recommend that you back all your stuff up now.
Whilst trying to isolate the issue, I recommend that you manually create frequent backups of your documents using the Finder after a successful save until you can trust it.
Next, use disk utility to do a repair permissions on your hard drive.
Also, after quitting Pages, try trashing your ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iWorks.Pages.plist file (back it up first if you want) and restarting Pages.
If this doesn't work, there are loads of troubleshooting tips here: http://www.thexlab.com/faqs/faqs.html. I also recommend that you read the tips on system maintenance.
In case you didn't already know this, Pages files are actually packages. Control-click on the icon and select Show Package Contents to see what's inside. You may be able to recover some text from the files in there. I don't believe there are any repair utilities. Nor is the file format available.

Sounds like someone ripped the movie off of YouTube and it got corrupted in the process. Try getting the movie file again, or try using an alternative movie player such as VLC: http://www.videolan.org
