how can i perform the authority check in sq02 "at selection screen" for a multiple entry field
e.g. EKORG low 0001 - high 0005
or EKORG 0001, 0004, 0005
I already added the following statements
How the field for EKORG check must be filled
if EKORG is initial.

Hello, we've got a LSMW which works fine on a recording using transaction CLMM. This updates characteristics data ok as long as the fields are single value entires (eg "Y" or "N" or "")
But now I want to add a new characteristic which can store multiple values eg Machine Type = "C10" or Machine Type = "C10, C18" or Machine Type = "C10, T01, T02, C30"
When I try to adapt CLMM it gives me an error that the format of the field is not correct. I tried comma separated eg "C10, T01, T02, C30" but it was not accepted.
Is there a special format for changing the multiple value characteristics in CLMM which I can use in LSMW?
Is there a more cunning way?
Do I have to get a development made for this??
Has anyone solved this problem?

Hello,
Why don't you use a Business Object Method (BAPI) in your LSMW.
There are a lot of BOR objects related to classification data.
Example : Business Object : BUS1088 - Characteristics with method CREATE.
A batch input often gives problems, especially with multi value fields.
When you use a BOR method in LSMW you can map your input files to the structures of the BOR method.

Authority Check to a Query

HELLO,
I am trying to introduce an authority check in a query, to do this I use the SQ02 transaction but I have 2 problems:
1.- I can't change the At selection-screen module
2.- If I change the Start Of Selection, then I save the code and finally I generate the infoset but I can`t see the modifications in the query.
Do you Know what can I do to solve this problem?

I think you don`t understand me.
I have put ZTCO_SOLTRAS_CAB-BUKRS in the GoTo ..., it works correctly, but it is not my problem. My problem is:
before I modified the query, the query read the field SP$00001(a select options) and get all the bukrs between the SP$00001-low and the SP$00001-high . Then I had to put a new field s_bukrs in the selection screen and now the user put the bukrs in muy new field, in that way I can check the authrity perfectly; so up to now all is correct...
but the problem arrives in order to show the query results, it doesn't matter what values fill the user in my field (s_bukrs) because the query still uses the SP$00001 field to filter data.
An example:
The user introduces the values 'A41' in the SP$00001-low and 'A43' in the SP$00001-high.
I get those values and I check the authority. Imagine tha the user can see all the bukrs and the query goes on.
Here is the problem!!!!!!!!!!! The query continuous (and it was code so) and in order to show the bukrs, goes to the field SP$00001 to filter data.( I can´t modify this code....) SP$00001 is empty so the query shows all the bukrs and the user only want to see bukrs between A41 and A43

Moving on; there are hundreds of scenarios, but this is the simple step-by-step I was looking for:
Step 1:
SU20 - List of Authorization Fields
--> Create a new authorization field e.g. Z_FIELD and assign either SAP standard or custom Data Element and a Package
Step 2:
SU21 - List of Object Classes
--> Forward Navigate into the application area of choice e.g. HR
> Create your Z object e.g. Z_OBJEC
> Add Z_FIELD as an authorization field
Step 3:
Set up the user list that should have the authorization added to their profile and fwd to your Security Consultant
Step 4:
Within ABAP editor use the Pattern to select your new Z_OBJEC
and assign a required field value for the id (object-field) e.g.
authority-check object 'Z_OBJEC'
id 'Z_FIELD'
field 'X'.

Partial goods receipt for PO with multiple line items

Hello All,
While doing MIGO, for a PO with multiple line items, if one line item is having error, will we be able to go ahead with goods receipt? Or entire material document is blocked for doing MIGO?
We will be doing a development - in case if there is problem in goods receipt (checking of any parameter, and if it is missing - we will be posting error message)...is it possible to ahead with next line item and still post the material document?
If partial goods receipt if possible for PO with multiple line items, how do we do it?

No. You cannot post the MIGO, if even one of the PO line item is having problem or giving error.

If you skip a line irem and do GR with next line item, how will you match quantity & value with the vendor Invoice at LIV ?

Partial goods receipt is possible for PO line items. That means, if PO has 100 qty for line item 1 then you can do GR for 50 now and 50 later depending on the vendors delivery.
Hope this is what you mean by "Partial Goods Receipt".

Hi Selvakumar,
we can resrict the PO to have a single delivery date in all the line items by means of giving a error message or overwiting the delivery date keyed/determined in the line item.
You can use the BADI -> ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST. In which you need to implement the method PROCESS_SCHEDULE.
(for technical aid - This method will be called for each and every PO line item, From the imporing parameter im_schedule we can get all the details of current PO line, even we can change the data in the current PO line. )

Checking the initiality of the fields while creating entries for a table

While creating entries using table maintenance generator(TMG) i need to check the initiality of the fields.Are there any such events?
I know i can go and change in the screen by making it mandatory or by writing a module in the PAI of the screen of table maintenance generator. Both of cases i have to change the TMG which is generated by SAP system. I want to know is there a way to achieve this with out changing the TMG possible events?

as far as i know, you have to do your initial valifdation in TMG and you have to change your TMG. However, if you have checked the initial flag while defining the field, you will not have initial value for that particular field.... (if the field is key field, by default it is not initial)

Creating Profile type report that hold fields with multiple values

Really hoping someone can please help me out as I am very new to Crystal Reports.
We use Maximizer CRM and we have been in need of some custom reports to rule out risk for regulators. I contacted Max and they suggested the only possible way is to create through Crystal. Its been almost one month already and I still cannot for the likes of me get this report operating properly. I have been inside and out on all sorts of forums, posted topics but no luck! So I will give it one more attempt in hopes that one of you geniuses can show me the way.
In Maximizer CRM there is date, numeric, alphanumric and table. Our table fields items can be set to either single value or multi-value. So in crystal i did a default join of Client.tbl and the user-defined fields from view and joined the client id and contact number from all the view fields to client table. See Image:
and I have dragged all the relevant fields in rows (in details section) rather then columns because we would be reporting on more then 1 record at a time. My problem is - If there is a table with multiple items selected (values), the records triple in count and it will show the same record over and over with just single field value changing at a time.
The formula field you see in the image is from when I posted a discussion and Abhilash assisted me by providing the formulas I should add:
1) Create a formula with this code and place this on the Details Section:
whileprintingrecords;
stringvar s := s + {field_with_multiple_values} + ", ";
2) Next, move all the fields (except the formula field above) from the Details section to the Report Footer
3) Create a formula with this code and place this on the Report Footer. This field would replace the existing field that contains multiple values:
whileprintingrecords;
stringvar s;
Left(s, len(s)-2);
This method is not working out for this type of report. When I add the formula Crystal is still counting my 2 records as 5 records but I can only view it as a single record and the multi-field has all the values for both records and displaying as a single record. See image:

Thanks for taking down memory lane that is Maximizer. Nice to see their table structure hasn't been simplified in the last 20 years.
If I understand what's happening, you should only see 2 records and not 5. That means your joins are creating duplicate records. For now I'm going to skip over trying to optimize your query because I still have bad dreams of linking Maximizer tables.
There are a couple of ways to work around the duplicates, one is to create a group and instead of having your formula in the Detail section, put it in the Group Header. The question is what would you create your group on that would get you a unique record?
If you know where the duplicates are coming from, create a Record Selection Formula that will remove the duplicates.
There is also the menu option Database | Select Distinct Records. I've never really had success with this one but there's no harm in giving it a shot.
I would have you try and find which table or combination of tables is generating the duplicates but that requires playing with your links. Normally I'd start by adding one table at a time and dropping one field onto the report. If it doesn't repeat then add another table and field and repeat until you get your duplicates. Once you know where they are coming from then you can either drop that table from your query or create a selection formula that removes the duplicates.

Another option is that you have a trigger on table NOTES that generates a new note_id even for an update.
