Authorization on filter in attribute list or data source

Hi All,
We have a scenario where we have segregated the customer base into 2 parts. one is for the employees who create BP and the other is for the distributors who create the BP in the systems. we have achieved this through authorization group where employee of the company cannot access the BP created by distributor.
We could solve this but we have a problem where when i run a campaign on birthday for example,if i select the birthday infoset and create a filter and create a campaign with this, it pulls also the BP created by the distributor. Where as we do not need this to happen and he should not be able to pull the distributor accounts and only should pull BP created by the company employees.
Will this be possible? we have tried using Master group but there are few performance problems with that. Is there a way we can block selecting the filter on BUT000 table only to the authorization group that should be selected and not the other one?
can this be achieved using authorizations.

I have an SSRS report with an SSAS data source.
Report parameters:
Param1 - text, single select
Param2 - text, multi-select
Dataset:
In Query Designer, I want to include Param1 as a filter expression so I can have "Dimension1 Begins with @Param2". I'm not sure the exact syntax to make param2 work in this.
The point is to filter my data set on param1. If A is selected for param1, I want the data set to have the filter saying "Dimension1 begins with A"

try this maybe the dates you are comparing are not in the same format.
I test data template in EBS but not with dates.
to_date(date,'dd/mm/YY') between to_date(:p_from_date ,'dd/mm/YY') and to_date(:p_to_date ,'dd/mm/YY')
if dont works try to put values insted of your parameter like :
to_date(date,'dd/mm/YY') between to_date(:p_from_date ,'10/01/07') and to_date(:p_to_date ,'01/12/07') ... put dates where u can have some values in report...
if dont work then try to print the values of the 2 parameters and the date of the select somwhere in ur report to see what you have in it..

Sorry for the delay.
According to the current description, I understand that you want to specify column name in dataset query designer dynamically when using SharePoint list data source.
Based on my research, this is not supported by default. As a workaround, you can use XML data source. The XML content can be embedded directly within the query. This lets you use the expression capabilities within the processing engine to build queries and
data dynamically within the report. And it can be used for retrieving XML data directly from an external data source, passing it using parameters, and embedding it within the query.

Filter in Attribute List

Hi all,
I have a requirement regarding Filters in Attribute Lists.
We want to provide an Attribute List in english. But Data Sources and marketing attributes are only displayed in German. Even if the Filter is a Standard SAP-Field like City or Country. The Attributes are translated. I would have the option to translate it manually by the description but it is to much and has to be done for every new Attribute List.
Does anybody know how to get the translation?

Even after making the attributes as nav attribute in Master data they ought to be marked as navigation attribute on the infoprovider on which you are creating the report.
If the report is based on the cube that uses company code then you need to check it as navigational att in the cube and incase you have a multiprovider at the top of the cube then you again need to check this attribute as navigational in the multiprovider too.
Thus by making comp_code_zregion as nav att in the master data you will not see it in the report you need to make it as nav in the report as well as multiprovider incase the report is based on multiprovider

Marketing Attribute Organizatitional Structure - Data Source?

we want to use the Oranisation Structure CRM: PPOMA_CRM (Company Organisation) as Data Source to generate Marketing Attributes. => Result is to select for the target group the employee in the specific department.
Question, is this simple possible and how to find the correct data table of the Organization structure to set the filter which will work in combination with BP (Role Employee) and Organistation (Department)?

i dont dont know much about windows programming
but i think that we we manually created a datasource by click odbc tab and then adding a datasource assosiating a mdb file to it
then in wondows surely some where it must have registerd
say for example there must be a datasource .ini file
now if this is true then u can do one thing
.ini file is similar to a text file
u can read this file thru FileReader class
and just extract the name sof datasource this is the obly option

7.0 Segmentation: Datasource, Attribute List using InfoSets.

Hello All,
Issue: Target group based on attribute List built based on an InfoSet datasource not being populated in Classical Segmentation.
Steps:
1. Created InfoSet using table joins- BUT000, BUT020, ADRC, CRMM_BUT_FRG0041, CRMM_BUT_FRG0100.
2. Created Datasource based on InfoSet
    - RFC Destination: CRM
    - Infoset selected
    Details
    - Business Partner (BUT000-PARTNER_GUID)
    - BP Category (BUT000-PARTNER_GUID)
    (All other fields left blank)
3. Created Attribute List based on Datasource
4. Logged in CRM Web UI using Marketing Professional role
5. Created Profile Set -> Profile -> Create filter on Attribute List. Search returns zero results.
Created Query based on Infoset returns results as expected.
Any suggestions would be great? All above tables are standard with standard fileds. I do not think this will need any function module for conversion to be specified in creation of Datasource unless I am missing something.

I get a feel that since even the basic attribute lists are not working and you are not able to create target group, it looks like you are not creating the attribute lists in the right way.
To understand the issue which you are getting, i also tried creating infoset based on the table CRM_MKTTG_BP_CENTRAL.
Then i created data source based on this infoset.
Then i tried creating an attribute list based on the above infoset. And here i get the below error which shows that you are not choosing the right Field while creating the Data source. Did you also got the same error ??

Diagnosis
The business partner field BUT000-TYPE of InfoSet CRM_MKTTG_BP_CENTRAL does not return the business partner GUID. The Segment Builder therefore cannot generate a target group from this data source.
Procedure
In the business partner field for data source CRM_MKTTG_BP_CENTRAL, enter a field which returns the business partner GUID. Alternatively, specify a function module capable of converting the content of the field specified into a GUID.
After seeing the above error, you might have understood by now that you need a select such type of field which returns the business partner GUID.
Try using the field "BUT000-PARTNER_GUID" in the Filed "Business partner" in the Details assigment block while creating the Data Source. This time the Data source gets created properly without any error.
Now try to create target group based on some filter criteria set in this Attribute list. Make sure you have the relevant data. For simplicity try to create filter on the attribute "country".

Dynamic filter in Design studio using drop-down when data source is Universe

Hi community,
Is there anyway to create Cascading filter in Design studio when data source is Universe using drop-down component (Dimension filters cannot be used in my requirement).
My requirement is,
I have 2 drop-downs:
drop-down 1 : shows the regions in a country.
drop-down 2 : should display states based the region selected in the first drop-down (drop-down 1). Also drop-down 2 should pass selected state as input to the data-source

Health App Lists Itself and iPhone as a Data Source

I use FitBit to track my steps. I also use the Sync Solver app which syncs data from FitBit to Apple's Health app. When I open the Apple Health app and look at the list of data sources for Steps, there are 3 data sources listed:
Sync Solver
iPhone 5s
Health
Sync Solver is at the top of the list because it's the app that I want to take priority over all other data sources. But I don't understand the difference between "Health" and "iPhone 5s".
I assume that "iPhone 5s", when listed as a data source, means the data gathered from the phone's built-in motion sensor. But what is "Health"? Why is it listed as a data source for Steps? It's like the Health app is using itself as a data source, which doesn't make sense to me.
This same phenomenon is true when looking at the data sources for Walking + Running Distance - both "Health" and "iPhone 5s" are listed as data sources for that particular metric.
Coincidentally, neither "Health" nor "iPhone 5s" appear on the main Sources tab for the Health App (i.e., the master list of apps that are sources of data for the Health App).
Does anyone know the difference between "Health" and "iPhone 5s" as data sources?
P.s. - "iPhone 5" is simply the name of my iPhone. This would be listed differently depending on what your iPhone is named (e.g., "Eric's iPhone", etc.).

Data Source Groups in Query no reflecting changes in Admin

Version of US used: 1.0.3
I removed some data source groups and add new ones in the Admin Application. But the default Query Application does not reflect these changes. That is, when I go to Advanced Search in the Query Application, the list of Data Source Groups displayed (i.e. the checkboxes) does not include the new ones I added and it still shows the ones I already deleted.
My question: how to update the data groups in the Advanced Query Screen? Do I have to execute all the schedules again before the updates are reflected?

Hi,
The caching Cindy was referring to is NOT in the browser. It is in the JSP middle-tier.
The JSP cache the data groups information to avoid fetching from the database everytime,
since data groups change infrequently.
In addition, in 1.0.3 version, this cache does not have any invalidation logic. So once the
search application has started (after first use), the data groups will never change unless
the application server (apache+jserv) is restarted.
Please restart the application server to see your changes take place. If you wish, you can
change the caching logic in the jsp itself. You may implement some trivial invalidation based
on time, or disable it if your server can handle the load.
Note: Ultra Search samples in 9.0.2 or later releases have invalidation of cache every 15 mins
or so.

Data source for application using both pooled and non pooled connections

Hi guys.
I am integrating Oracle's connection pooling into an existing application that had formerly used dbConnectionBroker. It looks like this task should be quite straightforward. However, for consistency, I would also like to replace other Connection logic within the application to use Oracle classes. This will involve using OracleDataSource to obtain a Connection object. ( without pooling ).
So in this case, the application will use both pooled and non pooled Oracle connections. They will be connecting to the same database. The question I have is in regard to the use of data-sources.xml.
Are there any special considerations for the required attribute values within data-sources.xml under this scenario ?

Hi Steve -
It should be feasible for you to define a single datasource using multiple location entries to indicate what sort of pooling behaviour you wish to use.
If you lookup and use the "location" attribute, you will receive a javax.sql.DataSource object which will not provide connection pooling.
If you lookup and use the "ejb-location" attribute you will receive a DataSource object that will support connection pooling operations.
Note that this is using the emulated datasource approach, and transaction support is limited to a single resource (one database) for these datasources - you won't get 2PC support for transactions.
If you need a transaction to span two separate resources (ie two databases in same tx) then you will need to use the non-emulated datasource approach.
There is a chapter in the J2EE Services Guide which describes the datasource model we have with OC4J. This might provide you with some more useful information. See Chapter 11 - http://otn.oracle.com/docs/products/ias/doc_library/903doc_otn/generic.903/a97690/ds3.htm#1004903

I have master data source like "0WBS_INH_ATTR - Inheritance Data for WBS Elements" and "0WBS_ELEMT_ATTR - Work Breakdown Structure Element (WBS Element)" which one to use as I need to have those User defined fields also which is not there in wbs_attr data source but in inheritance data source, but few fields are there in wbs_attr data source but not in inheritance data source.

user tcode rsa6 explode all the nodes and then used find icon to find your required data source. This tcode gives you the list of data source which are active.
User tcode rsa5 to list out the data source which is delivered by sap.

Automatically add new SQL data sources on secondary server

Hi there.. I have found an issue that I cannot resolve.
We have two DPM servers set up to be secondary servers for each other.. it has worked well for months and I was very happy with the setup.
What I had not realized was if a new SQL database was created and was picked up by the local DPM server, the secondary server did not pick up the new data source.
Is there a way to get a secondary server to refresh the list of data sources it should be backing up without having to manually updating the Protection Group once a week.

Have you attempted the following? From the secondary DPM Server modify the protection group in question.
From the select group members step expand the needed SQL server.
Select the SQL instance (ensure the check box is checked off next to the SQL instance) then right click.
Now click on Turn on auto protection (Figure 1) to enable.
